My favorite local hole-in-the-wall gem! The menu is super creative and diverse. Beautiful quality food heavy with local ingredients. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Every visit my meal looks like it should have come from a fancy expensive restaurant, but Libelula is affordable and approachable. This visit I had charred corn ravioli that were incredible! Very flavorful sauce and great texture with crunchy freeze-dried corn on top. Friendly & attentive service.
Libelula nailed it. I went with the orange chicken sandwich and tots, and both were ridiculously good, crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent without feeling heavy. The sandwich had that perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and the tots were golden and addictive. The outdoor seating is a huge plus too, comfortable, relaxed, and a great spot to just hang out and enjoy your food. On top of that, the service was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always makes the experience that much better. I'll definitely be back.
We went in with our dog and sat outside. Staff were very friendly brought the dog water and put up an umbrella for us since it was sunny. I ordered the chicken biscuit with a side of gravy. The upcharge 4 dollars for a small side of gravy was a bit much and that meal was maybe like a 6-7/10. My boyfriend got a double smash and that thing was delicious and the strange bread was also good we would for sure get that again 10/10. We had a nice time and we will for sure be back to try more the bacon Apple sandwich is calling my name.
Had a really neat experience trying this spot out on a recent trip to Fresno. Food was great - we both got the smash burger and added a second patty and bacon. The tots were delicious, homemade ketchup paired perfectly. The burger as a double was a good size for me! Service was friendly and quick. Ambiance was unique - check out the photos for decorations. The person who joined me comes here every couple of months and said everything is delicious. Hope to try another item from the menu if in town again. Note - they had street parking and a parking lot you can pay to access across the street.
As soon as i took the first bite of my biscuits and gravy i knew i had to leave a review. This is my first time ever trying Libelula after wanting to try it for forever and i was craving somthing filling. This is so freaking good the gravy is creamy and delicious and the biscuits are soft and golden toasted. Iwill absolutely be coming back .
I came back and was pleasantly surprised by the food I tried this time around. I ordered the smash burger and it was delicious!!! I ate that thing up so quick! It was a good mix of sweet and savory. Sweet from the maple bun I believe and savory from the beef patty and melted cheese. It was chef's kiss!! It was served with a side of tater tots which were super crispy and fried to perfection. I still unfortunately do not like the house made ketchup. It tastes like marinara to me. I'm not a fan of that taste with the tots (personal preference). The service could also be improved. I understand it's one person serving, hosting, and running food but the place is on the smaller side. Not sure if having an additional server or host would help with the service. It took more than 10 minutes to get our bill and we were already finished with our food and packed up to go just waiting for the server who was busy running around trying to serve others. Overall, I'd have to say this place redeemed itself in my book. And I would say just be careful about what you order. The food options are a fusion and if you end up ordering something you don't like, you'd have a bad experience. My first time here, I didn't like what I ordered but this time around, the item I ordered was delicious. I did order a burger which in my book taste good pretty much anywhere I go. IMO, it's not that hard to mess up a burger. In the future if I come here again, I'd probably stick to the non-fusion dishes. If you haven't tried this place, I still do recommend it. It's a local joint, farm to table concept, and pretty good depending on what you get.
I've lived in Fresno my whole life and have been meaning to try Libélula forever, but I finally was able to recently, and it was fantastic! We got two chicken sandwiches, and they were packed with meat and flavor. The romesco chicken sandwich was nice and fresh, and the pickle chicken sandwich was also flavorful. We also got the chili mac and cheese (not pictured), and that was SOOO good. Would come back for that alone. As for the service--it was great! I think our server's name was Kim. She was so sweet and helpful with the menu and the wait time. In general, she was just very friendly and inviting. The restaurant itself is small but cute and very decorated. I would come back!
3 years later, service was still the same and food even better than I remembered! I love how everything has just so much heart poured into it, and you can tell the HOMEMADE vibe is taken seriously. I really appreciate this establishment!
I have been coming here since quarantine and their food is delicious every time! It's a gem in our downtown. The food changes with the seasons, so things do go away and come back. There is also a baker attached to them!
Hands down the best french toast I've ever had. I scarfed it down in 10 minutes. The service was great (quick) and appreciate the recs from the server. She would check in from time to time (so attentive!). Don't be fooled by the exterior - it may look like it's at a bad part of town, but once you walk in, you'd be shocked with the execution if their meals. I'd love to come back to try something else on their menu. It's very diverse and creative in what they can pull off (some are asian inspired).
I been wanting to try this place cus the menu looks good. First of all, parking sucks! Not only is the parking across the street, you have to pay with the meter since this place is located downtown. Parking meter takes tap now but sometimes it gives me a hard time. I had to try three times until it accepted. Had to park a lil far cus most of the closer parking was took. Walking in, we were greeted with a smile from the lady. The inside is cute, it has some old pictures of how downtown Fresno used to look., they got some art on the wall. Gave me a hipster feel to it.. we told the lady we was taking it to go and she gave us a menu. I was lowkey bummed out cus the menu pictures on Yelp looks like they had way more on their menu. We went in the morning so I'm not sure if it was a breakfast brunch menu or if that was just it.. took me a while to finally decide because I wasn't really interested in some of the stuff on that particular menu. I ended up going with the mushroom toast. The lady came to check on us and informed us they also had some specials on the board. My bf went with one of the burrito specials. I don't remember what it's called but it had cheese curds in it. Food came out nice and hot. Got home and ate. The toast for me was hard to cut into for some reason.. but the mushroom mix with the crème fraiche tasted good. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My bf enjoyed his burrito. I had a bite and thought it was good too. The service was nice but I wish I could've went in there with a more wider selection on the menu but like I said, maybe it was a breakfast brunch menu? Idk.
Got there Saturday morning at about 10:30 and had a choice of tables for 5. Nice start. Our group had two Big Dill sandwiches, a Falafel Smash Burger, and Mushroom Noods. I'm on a low sodium diet so avoided a lot on the menu, and went with the Strawberry Stuffed French Toast and had a fried egg on the side. Mine was fabulous. I didn't taste the others, but everyone loved their choices. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was a perfect funky. The bakery goods were delicious as well.
Brunch on a weekday and it was as good as I remember. They still have the korma sauce and charge $4 as a side but ngl... I'm not even mad about it. It's savory, delicious and similar to an Indian curry. I ate it with tots. I also ordered the veg Benedict. After I ate my meal, I realized I may have gotten this same order the last time I was here. Muscle memory, perhaps? Amazing both times. Service was friendly, great and fast. Bathroom has downtown homeless vibes, but I'm not even bothered with how memorable the food is. Take my money!

Came with a party of 2 for brunch and it was delicious! We came on a weekday so there was barely a wait but it does fill up quickly. Best bet is getting street parking and then walking over. Had the Mandarin orange chicken sandwich and it was perfect. Just the right amount of crispy and saucy. The aioli was great as well! The strawberry French toast was good but was mainly creamy so it a got a bit boring quickly BUT it is a great sharing option! Would definitely go back to try their other menu items!! read more

I will begin by saying that the road work that is being done around the restaurants location is definitely a big inconvenience when it comes to finding parking. However, it is definitely worth it! For a while now I have been wanting to try this place and finally for around to it. The staff was great very kind and friendly as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was amazing, she was always checking up on us, making sure we had everything we needed it and that we were comfortable. I ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuit with Tater tots and for my drink I ordered the OG Lemonade. Starting with the sandwich, the chicken was nice and juicy, very crunchy as well. The flavor of the chicken was very good as well. The buscuit added that nice hint of sweetness that just tied the whole thing together. The tater tots were definitely crunchy, which I loved. They give you a very well serving of tater tots. I did not end up finishing mine, but they had great taste and texture. The lemonade was very refreshing, and it just hit that spot so well. It was appealing to the eye and tasted like freshly squeezed lemonade. Overall experience was 10/10, I would come back. The place gives off vintage coffee shop vibes even though it is not a coffee shop. Seating is definitely very limited inside. However, they do have outdoor tables with umbrellas which is a nice touch. Price-wise I would say it is a bit pricier compared to other similar restaurants I have visited. The total came out to $45 for two plates of the chicken biscuit and two lemonades. read more

Although this place is a run down and not in the best part of Fresno, I highly recommend the food. As the other reviews said, this is definitely a hole in the wall place. The food was really good and full of flavor. Every item that each of my party ordered was not disappointing at all. The inside decor is a little quirky and unique, a lot of random retro looking designs and items on the wall and the tables. Service was great for my large party of 7 and they kept checking in on us throughout the time. Would recommend checking this place out. read more
I've done other reviews for Libelula and I cannot stress enough that this place should be packed 24/7. I have yet to have a meal that I don't like. It's a chill vibe type of place, excellent service and outstanding food. I love that they changed the menu depending on the season. Love the in house waters they make everyday. I tried three different menu items this day. The mushroom toast was incredible! Egg was cooked perfectly medium. The mushrooms were creamy and fresh. Now the bone marrow stroganoff was insane! So much flavor, extremely filling, could easily feed two people. I took mine home and ate the rest for dinner. Someone once asked what my favorite meal was, I couldn't tell them at the time, now I would say anything at Libelula specifically the pork belly polenta and bone marrow stroganoff. read more

Excellent little breakfast establishment that lives up to the hype on reddit. I always go for breakfast no matter what and a wedding trip to Fresno was no exception. Needless to say, I'm glad reddit recommended this place for its unique dishes and great take on classics like biscuit and gravy. I highly recommend this establishment as well. Biscuit and Gravy 4 of 5 Great take on a classic, but was missing the black pepper. Get the sausage with it. Kimchi Fried Egg 4 of 5 It's missing the kimchi flavor, but still has a great taste. Make sure to eat it first or the wonton gets a little soggy towards the bottom. Very creative and worth a try. I would say it's a 4 out of five because the flavors could be a bit better and the bathroom was kinda a mess when we went. However, service and pricing was great and fast. read more

Five stars all around. This is one of our favorite places to go and we are so glad that they are doing so well. They support artists, downtown fresno, and local farmers. I always tell people it's like a nice metropolitan restaurant decided to relocate to Fresno. Very friendly staff. Can't go wrong with their burger of the week. They always have fresh ingredients. The ketchup and tots are out of this world. We are not, but if you are looking for vegan options they have it. Seriously try everything. They can be a bit pricey for some but we never feel bad about it as the taste really reflects the quality and care. read more

This is the second time I've been to Libelula, but the first was when they first opened. I went today with two work friends -- it's a nice place to get some fresh and interesting food downtown. When we went today at 11:39 it was lively but not overcrowded. Service was very friendly and thoughtful -- asking if we wanted ice, straws, extra dipping sauce for our tots etc. It's a casual cute place. We'd been in the office all morning so we chose to sit outside although it got a little hot because all tables were in the direct sun. A few umbrellas would be welcome. I chose the summer tomato grilled cheese. It had great flavor but here's what I wish I knew about it ahead of time -- I wish I knew it came open face and very soggy. I knew the ingredients of course, but I was honestly expecting smaller amounts of tomato, spinach and mushroom and for this to be a true grilled cheese that would hold together ("as a grilled cheese does") and would be simply picked up and eaten. This messy soggy sandwich (which required a knife and fork to navigate) had great flavor -- I want to emphasize it was very delicious and balanced and all the ingredients were fresh and high quality, so bravo to the person who invented the mix of ingredients -- but I wanted some form of a "true" grilled cheese. A sandwich that that holds together, and which you pick up and eat easily and without sloppiness (!) for a casual lunch with work friends: but instead it was a soggy mess and very difficult to eat, especially in front of coworkers while trying to converse. I really wish I'd ordered something else -- not because it didn't taste good -- it did taste good -- but because it wasn't what I was in the mood for: everyone knows what a grilled cheese sandwich is, and this soggy difficult-to-eat (even if very tasty) mess wasn't that. The tots were good and crispy and the homemade ketchup was as I remembered: I'd like a touch more salt but that's such an individual preference. I need more salt like I need a few additional points added to my blood pressure. I'll be back but I might be one of those annoying customers who asks questions of the waiter: "So is this a _true_ grilled cheese, the kind that you can pick up and eat?" "Ma'am it clearly says grilled cheese on the menu. What do you want me to say? Is this a trick?" "Yes noted - it says grilled cheese, but you see I have certain 'expectations' of a sandwich billed as a grilled cheese! Let me tell you all about it..." On second thought maybe next time I'll just order a salad. read more

Service friendly. Ordered biscuit & gravy. She upsold me spam which was a good idea since they don't have ham. Food is hot. Gravy is way too salty. The spam by itself is less salty than the gravy (what?? But true). Biscuit fine, Not amazing. Have t had spam in years and it's good. It's just the gravy. Location is weird. Atmosphere is dingy. Overall it's a meh from me. read more

When people say hole in the wall, I'm only gonna think about this place. The outside, well you won't think that, but once you're inside, your entire perspective changes. From my boyfriend's words: it looks like a comic book, or like the inside of weird kids bedroom The paintings are wacky, cool, and just quirky. If you're an indie hippie weirdo alternative kind of person, this is your spot. If you want to pretend like you are, this is your spot. The food was absolutely delicious. It came pretty quickly, since they weren't that busy on a Friday morning. Boyfriend said that his grilled chicken was the juicy he's ever had, and he kept moaning as he took bites. However, the noodles were the highlight of the dish, as they were packed his flavor, and the mushrooms were juicy, too. We didn't even finish our food, so we could eat it later. Bathroom is outside lol make sure you lock it. I couldn't figure it out, so I just left it unlocked. Anyways, epic spot. If you're staying in Fresno for a little bit, watch out for the nightcrawlers. read more

Food was so delicious, I didn't even think of snapping a picture before digging into it. Reminds me of Bennaddiction back in its golden days. Food is excellent. Ingredients are very fresh also. Good place for a bite! Located in downtown Fresno, you'll find this little gem. Be wary, there is only street parking, so if it's busy, it might be difficult to find a spot close by! The inside is nicely decorated and has a cool vibe. Service is fairly fast and the servers are nice. I love that this place uses local and fresh ingredients! They have so many options when it comes to their food, it's so hard to pick! I've been here on multiple occasions and have enjoyed my food. 〰 Curried Fried Chicken Tacos (5/5): These are scrumptious. The chicken was fried well and the curry sauce is DELISH. I got these to-go and they still held up and tasted great. 〰 Forbidden Breakfast Fried Rice (3/5): This was just ok IMO! I thought it was a tad too salty for my liking but the presentation was cool. 〰 Side of tater tots (5/5): I meaaaaan you can't go wrong with tots. They crisp them up so well and they're so fun to eat. Bonus points for their house made ketchup. Their ketchup is so yummy! I love that they use such fresh ingredients! This is a good place for a bite to eat if you're in the area. read more
