A great spread (condiment) elevates the flavor profile of a sandwich to the next level, making it a truly exceptional sandwich. Garlishious Deli uses its signature garlic spread, the Garlish Original, on all its sandwiches, giving them a uniquely delicious flavor. I like that their menu choices include some familiar classics (e.g., roast beef, turkey, chicken salad, tuna, Reuben, pastrami, veggie) as well as their popular signature sandwiches. Among their most popular signature sandwiches are the Meany Greany, $10.99, (vegan deli slices, vegan cheese slices, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, and Garlish Original), the Rowdy Rueben, $12.99, (6 ounces cornbeef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, Garlish Original served on light rye), the Salmonodon, $14.99 (smoked salmon slices, mild Gouda cheese, tomato, onion, capers, Garlish Original served on light rye), and the Irish Outlaw, $15.99, (6 ounces of pastrami with corned beef, melted Gouda cheese, avocado, Russian dressing, pickles, alfalfa sprouts, served hot on light rye). Their other signature sandwiches include the following: Aglio Pazzo, $12.99 (spicy Italian with prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, Gouda cheese, black olives, green pepper, tomato, Garlish Dragon Breath) Prancing Pastrami, $15.99 (6 ounces of hot pastrami, melted white cheddar cheese, Garlish-based coleslaw) Triple Trouble, $15.99 (roast beef, black forest ham, smoked turkey, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, Garlish Original on light rye) Garlibella, $10.99 (served with cut vegan meatballs, vegan cheese slices, cut baby Bellas, Garlish Original) Gouda Pastrami, $12.99 (3 ounces of hot pastrami, melted Gouda cheese, onions, bell peppers, pepperoncini, Garlish Original, served on your choice of bread) I have tried the Super Bird, $9.99 (chicken salad, celery, onion, bacon, tomato, cucumber, Original Garlish), the Cali Portuguese, $9.99 (Portuguese sausage, mustard, Garlish Horsekicker), the Trident, $9.99 (tuna salad, celery, onion, Garlish, bacon, tomato, cucumber, Garlish Original, served on your choice of bread), and the Rumbler, $12.99 (6 ounces of hot roast beef, Gouda cheese, red onions, alfalfa sprouts, Garlish Horsekicker). The Rumbler is my favorite so far. It had been a while since I enjoyed a hot roast beef sandwich this good. The meat was tender and had the right amount of marbling for great flavor and juiciness. The bread tasted fresh, soft, and had a nice crispy crust. The melted Gouda cheese, red onions, and alfalfa sprouts are a unique but delicious combination of toppings, but the Garlish Horsekicker made it a truly satisfying eating experience. That rich, creamy, garlicky spread complements the flavors of meat and elevates the overall taste of the sandwich. Garlishious Deli is additionally known for its signature pizzas and numerous vegan options. The Garlish Original and Garlish Horsekicker are two of the best sandwich spreads I have ever tried. You can buy them by the pint, starting at $7. The service is great. In addition to making tasty sandwiches and keeping the deli restaurant clean, the servers at the counter are very friendly, gracious, and helpful in making suggestions on what to order. You are warmly greeted coming in and acknowledged as you leave. There are plenty of free parking spaces next to the deli.

I came here on a weekday and bought 3 sandwiches, soup, and some garlic dip. The garlic dip was delicious and there re different levels of garlic to try in the dips, which you can sample in store if you'd like. There's a Fresno Bee article about them opening up a few months ago both as a sandwich shop and as a kitchen to make their specialty garlic dips and sell them in the Central Valley up to the Sacramento area. We got the sandwiches on sourdough bread and though it would have been nice to have the sandwiches toasted, that's probably something to ask for since it wasn't offered. I liked the chicken salad sandwich since the chicken was fresh and the shreddings were solid. My partner said the salmondon tasted like a bagel, but was a little different. My dad also liked the sausage and thought the sandwich was pretty good. Overall, if you like garlic spread, this place is for you. However, if you're not as big of a fan of garlic, it might be more tricky since they use their staple garlic spread in place of mayo and other sauces normally found on sandwiches. They also have pizzas, soups, and other items on their menu so I would surely give them a try!

Best sandwich shop in Fresno! Quality ingredients, and excellent customer service

Do not let the location scare you from coming down to explore the menu. You will not be disappointed!

So I went in opening day. I try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt on the first day. It was a decent sandwich, but I have mixed feels. First off, for a first day, these guys were slammed and did great! I had to wait 35 minutes for my sandwich, but honestly, their customer service was wonderful that it really wasn't that bad. I was greatly impressed with how cool everyone was, and how friendly they all were treating each other. Everyone seemed busy, but everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The seating area was a typically sandwich shop with maybe enough seating for 30-40. The floor and the tables were clean. The sandwich itself was not bad. The bread was this wonderful tasty toasted light rye. It was fresh, and just delightful to eat. The garlic sauce was delicious but completely overpowered by the Russian sauce. I will say this, that Russian sauce was one of the best Russian sauces I've ever had. The freshness of the garlic and other flavors are just incredible. The big down side for me was the amount of meat in my sandwich; there was hardly any meat. I watched the lady behind the counter place 3 thin slices of corned beef on my sandwich. When I asked her for more, she added two additional thin slices and up-charged me $2 for "extra meat". Please see the photo of my sandwich showing what double meat looks like for this place. It's just wrong when the bread is larger than the middle part of the sandwich. All in all, for a first day these guys were great. It really was a great sandwich, but just really skimpy on meat. Perhaps this was just a quality control issue? But I can't be sure because I was charged for extra. Not sure if I'll be back.

Walking in can be a little intimidating if you don't know what to expect, here is the process: you grab a ticket number, wait for your number to be called, place your order, take your receipt to the counter on the left to pay, and then wait for your name to be called. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth the $ for the quality. Our sandwiches ranged from $19-21 each. The Saverio was also incredibly fresh and layered beautifully, I was barely able to take a bite with how stacked it was. This specific focaccia paired very nicely with the pesto. Highly recommend!
