First time here and 10/10 We live at the Riverstone community and was on the search for a new food place and being that RICE BOWL was five minutes away we gave it a try. Environment/ Ambiance: This Chinese food restaurant is definitely a Mom and Pop vibe place, the inside definitely showed some age, but overall it is clean. We went when it first opened so we were the only customer there. Food: We ordered spicy crispy chicken (9/10) and orange chicken with bacon fried rice (8.5/10). Whenever I order spicy chicken at other restaurants, it is usually never spicy, but this place actually had a bit of kick. I would definitely order again. The pricing is very decent and you get a good amount of food. Service: The service was quick and Lilly was super friendly. We informed her it was our first time there and she was very patient and ask if we had any questions. Lilly even gave us FREE fried bananas (9/10) and a strawberry smoothie drink with crystal boba (7.5/10). This was extremely nice and welcoming of them, definitely showed they care about their customers. The fried bananas were crispy and sweet and it came as 6 pieces, I would for sure order these next time. I recommend this place especially if you live near by don't want to drive far into Fresno!! We will certainly become regulars.

    Taro Milk Tea

Went in to try one of the milk teas. I got a taro milk tea with brown sugar boba. Not good. It was sour. I haven't tried the food yet but the tea was NOT good.

Ordered takeout and it took the average 25 minutes. The food was very good, good portions. I ordered the bacon fried rice and the bacon was a lot too crispy for my liking but it was still good. The shrimp teriyaki was very good. I also ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with pan fried noodles were delicious and crispy. Overall very tasty and fast, friendly service.

Driving back from Fresno and stubbled across Rice Bowl. Perfect locally owned restaurant in the Ranchos area. It had a nice homey feel and the staff there were great and explained each dish well. It's definitely a must try if your in the area

Just beware that it does take longer to cook than some of the other dishes on the menu, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. It is definitely worth it. From August 1st through August 31st, kids eat free as long as the adults/parents purchase an entree, which is a really good deal. I would definitely recommend the steamed fish. It comes with a side of rice and a salad, and it's filling enough that you get a lot for your money. I also like that they have a membership rewards app that you can download. It's under Lin's Restaurant Group. I can go to their neighboring restaurants and the discounts and rewards really add up, especially if you eat at these places often. The kids chow mein and orange chicken. My kids loved it. The orange chicken comes with a side of rice. Like I said, there was a little bit of a wait for the fish, but it was absolutely worth it. You can almost taste the love in the food.

I like that the food isn't super greasy like typical Chinese food and the flavors in each dish are amazing. It's also nice that they give either white rice or a salad on the side if you order an entree. My favorite entrees have to be the sweet & sour chicken, orange chicken, and the mango chicken. The new Brasen beef is pretty good too and the wings appetizer. I've only dined at the restaurant twice but the customer service is pretty good. Everyone is polite and happy. Since the restaurant is kind of small, it does feel a little cramped inside when it gets packed which can make some people feel claustrophobic. This is why I typically just order to-go hehe

The menu presented extensive and adventurous options that as first timers could have been intimidating but with the help of Donavin our delightful server, we selected the perfect seafood salad for the Mrs. and the curated selection of Maki (delicious sushi "tacos") that together made for the perfect share. Add to that a smooth Japanese beer and a surprisingly moderate overcast that made our dinner on the patio the perfect way to celebrate our first meeting 47 years ago. Idk. *shrugs* This time we got: Pad Kra Pao, Pad Se-Ew (beef), Yellow Curry (chicken), and Thai Style Papaya Salad for dinner. We each had a different favorite dish out of the three entrees... Pad Se-Ew was mine (noodle head), followed by the Pad Kra Pao (perfect flavor, not too strong on the basil, egg fried just right), then the curry last (I prefer green or red more). The salad was good, refreshing. No spice whatsoever, but we knew that (one of the girls can't handle as much spice). The winner of our dinner? The Thai Tea Flight! I love the option of flights anywhere I go. It gives you the chance to try all the flavors you're curious about without committing to one that you may or may not like. Man... these were amazing. If I had to rank the flavors-- it was a toss-up between the Original Thai Tea and the Ube but since this is the battle of the Thai Teas... the OG gets a slight edge. Both freaking amazing though (we ordered full sizes of these after). Obviously Thai Iced Coffee comes next but coffee should be it's own category. It wins on its own as coffee. The Green Thai Tea came in last for all 3 of us, I believe. It's good, just not as good as the other three... and it's definitely more fragrant? Idk the right word for it. Anyway, I'd make more stops here just for these drinks alone now that i know how good they are. Staff was amazing. Friendly. Attentive. Restaurant still very aesthetic. Their plating of the meals? A+. It was a very good dinner.

The compound tofu was very flavorful. It wasn't mushy. The tofu was firm and all the seasonings paired well with it. The dude enjoyed his meal with the steak and purple rice. The rice was pretty good. I did not try the steak as I'm not vegetarian. But he really enjoyed it as it was butterfly pea rice. Our cocktails were delicious. Balanced not too sweet. It hit the spot. We were very impressed with this place and really enjoyed our time here all the flavors popped in every dish we had was delicious even the appetizer of the spring rolls. Very crunchy light and not greasy. Overall, this was a great spot to grab a delicious meal, date night, or celebrate. I would come just to come again definitely will be back.

He explained the menu really well and got everyone's drink orders. The drinks did take a little while to come out, and one thing I noticed was since everyone was ordering food at different times, the food kind of came out little by little. It felt like it took a while to get some of our food after we ordered, and it almost made it seem like they wanted us to keep ordering drinks while we waited. We were there for about 2 hours just eating and drinking. Now the food... it was honestly SO good! I just wish the portions were a little bigger for how much everything costs. Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious, but in my opinion it's definitely on the pricey side for what you get. The Truffle Mac & Cheese was really good, but it was such a small portion. The Crispy Bluefin Nigiri was probably one of my favorite things we ordered! It has crispy sushi rice, bluefin toro, honey-cashew sauce, avocado, and aged ponzu. It was SO good... but it's only like five little bite-sized pieces for $24. It was delicious, I just couldn't get over the price. The Mushroom Risotto was also really, really good! And my favorite meal was probably the Spicy Shrimp Bucatini. It has shrimp, Italian sausage, fresh bucatini, Calabrian chili, Grana Padano, and toasted breadcrumbs. The flavor was sooo good! We shared it, but honestly I could've eaten the whole thing by myself. If I go back, I'd definitely order that as my meal. For drinks, I tried the Frozen Summer Margarita, and it was so refreshing! It has watermelon, hibiscus, basil, and citrus, and I really liked it. I also tried the Pool Boy, which has gin, watermelon liqueur, cucumber, basil, and citrus. That one was really good too! The restaurant itself is super cute inside! The only other thing I'd mention is that when we were leaving, there were a lot of people hanging around the bar, so it was a little hard to get to the bathrooms. Not a huge deal, just something I noticed. Also, if you're going with a bigger group, just know they automatically add 18% gratuity to every tab. I totally understand why they do it, but with the menu already being pretty expensive, it definitely makes your bill go up fast. Overall, I really did like Saizon! The food and drinks were delicious, and it's a really cute place. I think next time I'd go for a date night or with a smaller group instead of a big party. Just be prepared that it's a little pricey for the portion sizes, and if you're with a large group, don't forget about that automatic 18% gratuity.
