Just beware that it does take longer to cook than some of the other dishes on the menu, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. It is definitely worth it. From August 1st through August 31st, kids eat free as long as the adults/parents purchase an entree, which is a really good deal. I would definitely recommend the steamed fish. It comes with a side of rice and a salad, and it's filling enough that you get a lot for your money. I also like that they have a membership rewards app that you can download. It's under Lin's Restaurant Group. I can go to their neighboring restaurants and the discounts and rewards really add up, especially if you eat at these places often. The kids chow mein and orange chicken. My kids loved it. The orange chicken comes with a side of rice. Like I said, there was a little bit of a wait for the fish, but it was absolutely worth it. You can almost taste the love in the food.

As for me, having dined at Japanese restaurants from Nobu and Morimoto to Michelin-starred experiences, I was equally impressed by the ambience, service, presentation and overall execution. It also makes sense that the operation feels seasoned: Oiza is part of Lin's Restaurant Group, the same local family behind other Fresno-area favorites including Hino Oishi, J-Pot, Spicy J's, Ramen Hayashi and Lin's Fusion. Although I had booked directly through Oiza's website via Tock, the reservation didn't appear in their system. Fortunately, I had the email and text confirmations, and the team graciously accommodated us after a short wait. We repeated several favorites and ventured into a few new dishes: Hamachi ceviche -- Worth repeating. Grilled oysters -- A welcome addition to the table. Uni udon pasta -- The one miss for us. I wanted more uni and umami depth; the noodles were slightly overcooked and the sauce could have been smoother. Hi Tuna roll -- Just as good the second time. Amaebi & yellowtail sashimi -- Fresh and beautifully presented. Our server Itzy was wonderful throughout the evening and surprised us with a complimentary dessert. We would have ordered the matcha parfait if we hadn't been so full -- or if Dubai chocolate wasn't already waiting at home. Third time was the charm: We came back for Oiza's impressive luncheon specials and loaded up on several of our favorites while finally trying the temakis. The perfectly crunchy seaweed made every bite, and the lunch offerings were such delicious, incredible value. Even the takeaway bags deserve a mention -- sturdy enough that they've earned a second life as reusable lunch bags. Do: Make a reservation. Try the lunch specials. Buy the gift cards. Don't: Eat the towelettes. ;) From Holidate to Celebradate to lunch date, Oiza has earned its place among our favorite Fresno special-occasion eatsplorations -- with enough value and variety to make an ordinary afternoon feel worthy too.
