This was our first time to visit Bowlzeye. We love bowl meals! They have a variety of rice bowls, potato bowls, and salad bowls. We got one rice bowl, one potato bowl, and one salad bowl. We had dinner, lunch and lunch again! So good! We live close so we will be returning! The terryaki chicken was very good. The cowboy potatoes were also very good and the salad was fresh and delish! Never been disappointed here. Food is always fresh. The customer service is 10/10. You can tell Donovan (the owner) takes pride in his customer service and his food. Ive been coming here for a couple of years now when I need something fast and somewhat healthy since he has the chicken teriyaki plates. He just recently came out with a new dish (garlic noodles) and I had to try it. Overall the garlic noodles were good. It was nothing special but for $5 it was enough to get me full. The place inside is a bit small and janky. So they don't really have a place to sit down and eat besides two small tables outside. I mainly do a grab and go there so it does not bother me. Showed up about 15 minutes before closing and the place was empty but as it got closer to closing, people were lining up, picking up to go orders. The service was super friendly and the cashier provided a brief yet thorough run down of the menu along with his favorites. We ended up ordering the Spicy Garlic Chicken Bowl (on the recommendation of the cashier) and the Cheesy Potato Bowl, both of which were average. The Chicken bowl had very little garlic flavor and the sauce it came with was quite acidic, with no balance. It was a mix of both white and dark meat. The potatoes were flavorless and bland. Portion size was average. The small container of sour cream was a welcome addition as it added some creaminess and flavor, If you're not picky with your food, and you like a good value, this is the place for you. Definitely budget friendly. I'd recommend you take your food to go as the shop is extremely small with just a couple of tiny cafe tables and zero ambiance. Also, caution! Definitely a great spot for good simple food at an affordable price. The "bowls" are not the small round types. They are the square To Go boxes. They have great specials to feed a family and for large parties. Their teriyaki bowls are a healthier alternative to the usual fast food. The teriyaki sauce is a nice homemade version, great wine and garlic flavor come through, and the spicy version has a little kick to it. They give you a good size to cover your whole rice. I haven't tried the other bowls but based on this first try, I will definitely be back to check out the other ones. Be aware that this is not a sit In restaurant. Their Thai salad had at least 3 different types of lettuce and several herbs such as cilantro lemon and mint. If I had to guess there was probably 4 oz of grilled chicken. It was nice and spicy. The Spicy teriyaki chicken was athough wonderful. We put some of the rice from The teriyaki chicken in with the Thai Salad bowl and it was great! All their ingredients seem to chill well together. It's a limited menu but it is brilliant in its simplicity. The gal out front was friendly cheerful and helpful. If you were a fan of Dai Ichi's, Bowlzeye is a gem in the Clovis community. 3 reasons. They serve a good amount of food for the price, they're small but local, and they're food is good. Personally, I get their teriyaki bowl with a 50/50 split of their spicy and regular teriyaki sauce. I can't get enough! I work about 3 miles away and they'e now my goto because of the price, amount, and taste. They take CC but please try and pay cash to keep their prices down.
