And also if you're hungry, I would recommend the orange chicken, like seriously though, you can smell the freshly squeezed orange in that marinade or glaze! This was honestly one of the worst take out experience I've ever had. The sweet-and-sour soup tasted nothing like it should no flavor at all, and the taste was awful. The "house special" had raw ham just thrown on top, along with three tiny shrimp that tasted like they were microwaved. The potstickers were completely burnt, yet they still put them in the container and served them. The chow mein was burnt too. Everything was so bad that we ended up throwing the entire $60 order in the trash. We live about 40 minutes away, so going back wasn't even an option. people deserve to know. This is by far the worst restaurant experience I've had in Fresno. If you're thinking about eating here, please go somewhere else Panda Express or Even the Poverello House serves better food and theirs is free. way better than this. read more

You can never judge by the cover because you may be missing out on something great. The location is a little sketchy, the restaurant inside needs to be updated but this place is ALWAYS busy because the food is good the prices are super budget friendly. The staff is nice and friendly enough as they busy busy busy. I come here often when I want some good Chinese and I'm on a budget. The portions are BIG you can get one plate for 2 people and be full. When we lived in sunnyside area the family ate every Friday at sunrise kitchen. Loved going in and seeing my dinner cooked. I Just went in this Friday it looks like the next generation is running the business now. The food was incredible . And so much. Great value for the money . So glad I went back in. The restaurant was so busy. Orders were going out the door fast. There is an area to sit and eat if you want. Give it a try. Local family owned. The tradition of great food is still here. Got a order to go yesterday April 13,26. Food was terrible , order special plate and a side of shrimp , and side sweet and sourdough. Pork chow mein was dry and tasted like it was old noodles . Let me share that at sunrise kitchen i custom ordered a Beef stir over pan fried noodles with extra beef for under $20 i swear the order itself had to be about 2-3 pounds in total. At the buffets with their many varieties they charge 8.99+up per pound of food and I am a fairly large fellow and when i brought sunrise back home to eat with 2-3 other guys we were barely able to finish it together without being full first thats how PHAT they hook it up so i definitely highly recommend SUNRISE to anyone craving Good Chinese to eat with friends and family and again, PHAT! So disappointed in sunrise kitchen today! I've been going there for over 35yrs saw the kids grow up off to college food was great then. now not so good but today the young boy (long hair & glasses) refused to order make my special plate order Because I didn't want the gravy sauce note that I've been ordering this plate my entire life going there. I went two weeks ago got it with no gravy sauce but this boy said the gravy comes with the bean sprouts and looked at me weird. Sunrise is always my comfort go to food when I'm craving some family style food. The service is always great and fast no hassle.

I placed an order over the phone on a weeknight and was told the order would be finished in 15 minutes. When I got there, the food was done on time. However, the line was not great because there was not much room for the 4-5 people who were waiting in line. The staff also was taking turns to take orders of people picking up. So it was clear they were not watching the line, since a man who came in after me was seen first. That was very annoying. Anyways, the food here is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. I ordered a whole fish tilapia, which came with white rice. Then I also ordered a plate of beef chow mein. They stuffed the plate to the brim. In total, the food cost around $25, which is very reasonable. I would come back next time, but would be weary about the line process, and more assertive that people don't just get in front of you. Just wish the staff was also helpful with that as well. read more

I really don't have anything good to say about this place. I expected way more and way better than the food, ambiance, service at Sunrise Kitchen. Maybe I was let down way too harshly or maybe I went on an off day, but I had to eat a few bites of my food just to cure the hunger pangs and then I told my other half he could take the leftovers to his son at home. To add to all this, it was awful to try and exit the place and not be hit by a homeless man who was having a physical altercation with himself. When I get a craving for Shrimp Fried Rice, this is where I come. It's cooked perfectly every time. The shrimp are fairly big and plentiful. I moved from fresno about 20 years ago. Every-time i go back i make sure i go to get Chinese food. This time i went totally different people and i have seen the families change over many years. Food was very different the noodles were like left over noodles and the bbq bbq was nothing like it used to be. I have always raved about this place and for the first time i was 100% disappointed. First time eating here and service was great, but food did not look appetizing. I ordered a combo plate of Fried rice, chow mein, with orange chicken. The fried rice looked very dark colored and was unseasoned, some parts of the chow mein was overcooked and other parts were cooked but had a slimey texture, & the orange chicken was very overcooked and overly chewy I had to chew one piece of it for a few minutes before being able to swallow it. Inside of the restaurant looked very nice and clean no problem there, but food was most definitely horrible will likely not eat here again. Please look into this and make some changes. read more

Honestly I hear really great views on this place and decided to give it a shot. I asked the lady in the front for the special plate with chow mein and rice and instead of the shrimp a side of spicy beef. I also asked for the flower soup and egg rolls which to be honest very good egg rolls would be the only reason I got again. When I got my food I noticed there was more food in the bag than I expected. When I looked they had gave me a whole order and not what I asked for. At that point I noticed the price and understood but crazy how I went there to only spent 30 dollars max and got a bill of 50. Which was denied a refund and what I originally asked for.
