Tsing Tao is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the Fresno area. They've been around forever and the food is consistently good! They have amazing lunch deals with great prices. I've sat down and eaten in the restaurant, as well as gotten food to go, it's always good. The egg rolls are always crunchy, orange chicken is SO good and their chow mein is not to be missed! The food the service, and the atmosph,ere were all wonderful! My husband and I both had The family dinner but with different entrees. The family dinner comes with a bowl of sizzling rice soup, An egg roll a pot sticker and foil wrapped chicken. My entree was crispy beef and my husband's entree was Kung pao chicken. Start off the soup was very flavorful, Definitely not your ordinary soup that you would find in the most places to start. The egg roll was a straight veggie roll but it was crispy and flavorful. The pot sticker was probably one of the best I've had in town, The wrapper was not too thick, Silky, Slightly crispy, And the filling was light and delicious not heavy. The Foil wrapped chicken Was different than any other place in that it was lighter and not overburdened with a salty sauce. As far as the entrees, My crispy beef was amazing, So crispy, With a delicious sauce. My husband's Kung pao chicken was so tasty, Everything was fresh and the chicken was not dry. The only downside to our entrees was that they were listed as spicy, But I think you have to ask for really spicy if you look like you can't handle it or something I don't know it just wasn't spicy at all. But we will definitely return and maybe ask for real spicy next time LOL. read more

3/3/26 Getting lunch to go. I called & ordered Sichuan chicken & Cab Rangoons. The worker was very kind and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. Arrived! Greeted, let worker know of order and it was ready. Paid for it and received with good day wishes! Great! Very nice inside. Lots of seating. Dim & calm. Lunchtime! Order split! The Szechuan chicken was a bit greasy, but still good with a nice, spicy flavor. Definitely wish there was less grease & more veggies. Crab Rangoons are Really Good! Great flavor dipped in the tasty sweet sauce! I definitely had leftovers too! Mother said hers was Good! She favored the Crab Rangoons too! Walking in you know you are in for a great Chinese experience! They have booths and tables; for small groups and large settings. The dining area is large! They do close at 2:30 and reopen for dinner! We decided to order from the lunch special menu. You get soup, salad, wonton, egg roll; choice of chow mein, fried rice, or steamed rice; then one entree choice. I got mushroom chicken and my daughter got orange chicken. Soup and salad was a great starter, the salad was a little too sweet. Then we got the appetizer of fried shrimp, cooked to perfection, not to much dough! Delicious! Then came our entree plate smelled wonderful! Spices were on point. The worst Chinese food I've had in years. The pork chow mein was under cooked and very greasy. The mongolian beef was tough and lacked any flavor. I tried one of the fried shrimp one of the other people in our group had ordered and it was tough, it was either overcooked or old. We used to come here years ago and I remember the food was good but on the expensive side now it's just expensive. I need to mention this was a take-out order. read more

Very homey ambiance with really attentive service from the staff. The food was a very solid take on Chinese American classics, but the highlight of my meal was the potsticker served alongside the family dinner option. Will definitely order potstickers as an appetizer on our next visit. The dishes we ordered were all on the salty side, but easily remedied with some chili oil. Clearly I forgot that I've been here before and was seriously disappointed the last time. Today my wife was coming from the nail shop and asking about dinner. We have leftover pot stickers and was thinking an extra little something would go well with it. Chinese goes a long way. Maybe we will have leftovers for tomorrow too. She brings the food home and I look at it. "Doesn't look very good" I say. "Well let's hope it taste better than it looks," my wife says. I give the noodles a taste. Bleh. Maybe it will be better with some hot mustard. The hot mustard tasted watered down. The orange chicken didn't look at all like orange chicken I've ever had anywhere, or made at home. It wasn't crispy or even have an orange taste. It also tasted watered down. The chicken strips were pretty big. They were from the breast so they were dry. We had the Hot and Sour Soup, Crispy Beef, and Pork Chow Mein. It was all delicious! I had had a long hot day and the server kept my water glass filled (which was quite a feat!) The crispy beef was quite tender with a crispy coating and a savory sauce. The chow mein was perfectly cooked and the Hot and sour soup was moderately thick with plenty of tofu and a slightly tangy taste. I'll be back real soon. For my first visit to Tsing Tao I was pleasantly surprised. I am particular about my Chinese food, and when I find a favorite, I pretty much stick with it for a long time. Some examples from over the decades--Wang's Panda, Loy Loy, Bow Loy, Jimy Wen's. I'm adding Tsing Tao to that list. Lunch time and there were plenty of tables. The dining room is large with both booths and round tables. Those would be good for larger groups. There were only three in our group and a booth worked well. Orders were quickly taken, I'm sure to accommodate lunch-break workers. Looking over the menu, I saw a dish that sounded like it could be something I had eaten before at Wang's Panda and Jimy Wen's--called crispy beef here. Sure enough, it is very similar Wang's tangerine beef and Wen's orange beef. I was very pleased. Next time I will place an order for vegetable chow mein to go with the dish as it comes a la carte. Because of road work at Willow and Shaw, getting in and out of the large shopping center was a bit difficult. But I managed just fine and may even just that "backroad" access when I come again, coming and going from Bullard Ave. There is lots of parking very close to Tsing Tao. read more

Wow. This was our first visit today for father's day and we were not disappointed, we'll except the dish my dad ordered. Lol it was to bland for us (mushroom chicken) but the rest of the meal was amazing! So was the service! We did a family dinner with crispy beef, lemon chicken and Kung pao san yang, as well as the shrimp lobster sauce dish. Seriously everything was amazing. The leftovers are already gone. Nice place and attentive staff. The service was perfect for our group of 12. As ll the dishes served looked fabulous, but upon tasting many were a style I didn't care for. I ordered a spicy scallop dish that was far from spicy with a n overly sweet sauce. My meal came with several starters to taste. The paper wrapped chicken was dry with little taste. Food was just ok. Overpriced for what you are getting. Soup was very bland and tasteless. Spring rolls appetizer tasted like old frying oil. I ordered a family dinner and got the walnut shrimp. It came with a very bland soup, an appetizer plate that had one potsticker, one triangle wrapped chicken, one spring roll, and a cup of white rice. Not that great for $21. I lived in Fresno for a number of years but I visit frequently as my wife's family all still live here. For years, Tsing Tao has been our go-to Chinese restaurant. The variety of dishes has been excellent and there really was no dish I ever tried that I didn't like. However, lately, something seems off with this restaurant. Tonight, I called in a take out order of: Pot Stickers, Assorted Won Ton Soup, String Beans Beef and Cashew Chicken. The soup was as good as it always has been. The pot stickers however.... - they looked crispy, which is how I like them, but even though the outside looked crispy, they were actually pretty mushy. My main issue though is that they gave us the smallest container of sauce that I've ever seen. Maybe enough sauce for 2 of the 6 pot stickers if you ration it like Matt Damon had to do in the movie "The Martian". I get that stuff is more expensive, but it appears that they have down-sized the container that holds the pot sticker soy sauce. Maybe it's 2 tablespoons worth? The container is not even big enough to dip a portion of the pot sticker sauce in. My other issue with the food was the Cashew chicken. There were hardly any cashews in dish. I scooped out 3 large spoonfuls over my rice and didn't have even one cashew. Not sure why they call it Cashew chicken if you're not going to put hardly any cashews in it. They should rename it "Onion Chicken" because there are no shortage of onions in the dish. I get that stuff is more expensive than ever. But we're already paying higher prices for the food. Why skimp on the main ingredients of the dishes you serve? The food is still good and may still be the best Chinese food in our area. Not sure though. But it is disappointing to see them skimp on some of the food. It makes me wonder if there has been a change in ownership or management. It has been years since I have eaten at Tsing Tao. My husband and I use to eat there about once a month until he passed. The food was always so good with lots of flavor. You could distinguish the difference between the dishes. I decided to call in a to go order for my family who had never tried the food. We ordered 6 different things. Came here because our initial restaurant of choice was closed. Glad we did! Located in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking. Our server was on her game and regularly checked on us. We started with some egg rolls which were good. We also tried the Mandarin Chicken and Moo Shu Pork. The Moo Shu was fairly tasty. The Mandarin Chicken was good, but I've had better. But that's not to say it was bad...cause it wasn't. We had a little hot green tea with our food...that hit the spot. On our trip to Fresno we tried this Chinese restaurant. The food was OK. I really enjoyed the egg rolls and the walnut shrimp. These two items were on par with the type of dishes we are accustomed to getting. Also ordered was broccoli beef and sweet and sour pork. The pork dish was better to me but wifey liked the broccoli a lot in the beef broccoli dish. Service was about like expected at a Chinese food place, not too good not too bad. Tonight's meal was bland and oily... not at all what we've come to expect from this restaurant. Really good food. Great service. Super fast and attentive. We ordered the dinner specials which are a great value. You get to try a little bit of everything: soup, egg roll, potsticker, paper wrapped chicken, steamed rice and an entree. The hot and sour soup was hot and tasty, not too salty, made with pork. The chicken filling in the potsticker and paper wrapped chicken were very well seasoned. Not salty and mild flavored. The Chinese chicken salad was made with crispy light batter chicken that was very good but it sat on a plain bed of chopped lettuce and a few wontons. No other veggies. Kind of boring but the chicken was great. The honey walnut shrimp came with candied walnuts a great creamy sauce but it was a small order and two of the shrimps were clearly old and smelled very fishy. It didn't affect the flavor of the other ones but it changed the mood of the dinner. If it smells, it shouldn't be put in. The Szechuan chicken had a great flavor but it was too salty. A bite of the broccoli showed how much salt it absorbed from the sauce and it was a bit much. The interior decor is very nice with a muted teal blue and plush red velvety chairs really is appealing. Ultimately the restaurant is about the food. So many good things to like about this place but I will likely be more cautious of ordering seafood and request less salt if at all possible. Egg flower soup was delicious. I was bummed out that they no longer serve Egg Fu Young. I really liked the new decor and the ambiance after they upgraded the seats and tables. I remember the red faux leather bench seating from when i went there as a kid. Definitely would recommend to anyone who loves fresh cooked food with amazing customer service. So I took my family there last night after being away for six years, and it wasn't very good. I remember when the food was delicious and had flavor in 2015 and earlier. My entire family, including myself, got sick with a stomachache, and well, you know. I will never go back to this restaurant again! Good luck to those who continue eating here; it's too bad that Tsing Tao's has gone downhill. The food is very bland with no taste; even after adding their chili oil sauce, all you really get from that is a burning flavor in your mouth this place has really gone downhill. We're visiting from out of town and wanted to try Chinese food for lunch. This place came recommended on Yelp and had good prices for lunch specials. It was close to our hotel so that's an added bonus. We were seated right away at lunch time. Everything was fast - our drink order, our food order, soup and salad came out right away and the entrees came out fast too! The eggdrop soup was quite tasty and my Szechuan chicken was very good. So I went on Uber Eats and order from Tsing Tao. My husband and I had been there a long time ago. I ordered the large appetizer platter. Uber delivered it promptly and it was still quite warm. But the food was a hot mess. Spring rolls were just deep fried cabbage. The chicken wings were raw and the shrimp was so greasy. They were all batter and small shrimp. Finally I tasted the paper wrapped chicken which is usually my fave. Didn't look like chicken and it was spongy with tiny holes in it. I gave it a fair chance as I tasted everything. But the worst part is all we got as dipping sauce is sweet and sour. No hot mustard, no teriyaki and not even any soy sauce. Very disappointed. Driven by this place many times but never ate there, no one in my circle of friends ever talked about the place, but this was the first time I saw it on DoorDash so decided to give it a try. Ordered the pork chow mein, chicken string bean, and Mongolian beef. The chow mein noodles used is not the typical noodles used in chow mein, but the flavor was ok. It said on DD that the chicken string bean and mongolian beef would be spicy, however, it was not spicy at all, like 0% spicy. I had to add my own chili oil I had at home to give it some flavor, otherwise, it was kind of bland. In summary, the food was just ok, wasn't awful, wasn't the best Chinese food.... just ok. Will I go back.... maybe if I was in a rush? Otherwise, probably not. read more
