"Updated Review" Last week I decided to reward myself for dinner and wanted some Pad Thai. I had previously had a delicious entree of Pad Thai before from this location and preordered my meal over the phone. I ordered my Pad Thai at home and was literally 5 minutes down the street. I ordered Pad Thai without bean sprouts and I also wanted spring rolls, yet was given twice over fried egg rolls that were hard in the center. While I do like 'fast food" I was initially surprised that my food was ready when I arrived, but once I opened up the container on the way home I could see why. The Pad Thai was finished, but looked bleached white ( please reference my previous photo). It wasn't simmered in the sauce so that the noodles could absorb and take on the sauce and color. It looked as if it was soaked in the water prior to cooking and thrown into a watery sauce for a few seconds to warm. The eggs were watery from the sauce, but yet on a positive note, the chicken was tasty. Normally I check my food before I leave the restaurant, but had no doubt that this was prepared well because of my last visit. For $16.00, I felt shafted, disappointed and upset that Artea was my first choice, but I traveled a little further for this. The food in my opinion was thrown together and wasn't worth the drive back as I noticed another Pho place across the street. It was clear not much care was taken in preparing this meal... which I would call a sort of signature dish... yes I want it fast, but I still expect more at this price point. I was hungry and it was a struggle to eat the "egg rolls" ... the service definitely prompted me to look back through the posts to see if this location was under new management... To conclude, this was definitely not a "Win" for Pho Win and I am so dissatisfied that I took an "L" with the end result. The restaurant received a 3 for at least speed, but lost 2 stars for the lack of preparation. If you peruse their photos you'll know this is not the standard, but since they boxed it up, closed the bag and watched me swipe my card and walk away, this was now their product and standard . Unfortunately I probably won't be returning and luckily, Pho and Pad Thai can be found in several locations in San Antonio. Now don't get me wrong, if white, watery, without much taste is your thing, than this was the meal for you. Sorry, in these times quality is still the standard.. Ms. Foodie read more

Looking for rehydrate after a long hike, this was the second pho restaurant stop since the first one was uncertain of when it would open. Like most Asian restaurants I've been to in TX, this place offers a mix of entrees from different parts of Asia. I wish those items weren't on the menu. I wish they'd stick to a smaller menu that didn't try to pander to everyone's palate. The pho here is good. The spring roll was really good too. Within the spring roll offerings, there were several options, I couldn't try them all, but I'll get around to it soon! read more

Love to be back dining here once again. Missed their delicious and crunchy wings and their frilled chicken plate. The flavorful food choices here always hit the spot. We stopped visiting this place since for some reason the taste of food suddenly changed, plus the pandemic hit. We decided last weekend to have lunch here and the tasty food is back. It's either the original cook is back or they changed their kitchen staff. Anyways, it's a wise decision to go back and visit our favorite Vietnamese place here around de Zavala area, and for sure we would be coming back again and again for more delicious Vietnamese dishes. I met a coworker here for lunch and I am so glad she recommended this place. I had been craving some vermicelli and this place hit the spot. It was bright inside with prompt and polite service. My B1 pork, shrimp, and spring roll vermicelli was spot on! And we split a fresh spring roll, the dipping sauce was the perfect compliment to my fresh roll. If I wasn't in polite company I would have licked the bowl. I will definitely be back for a solo lunch treat, with coworkers or the family. read more

AP Chao is excellent here. Came with chicken, shrimp and beef and was a lot cheaper than anywhere else I've had it and just as good if not better. It is a thick crispy fried noodle... One of my new favorite dishes. read more

I got pad Thai today and I won't lie I'm not a fan. Texturally everything was perfect but it lacked a bit of flavor.. BUT I came last night and the pho here is incredible. My kids and I ate it all up. You don't even need to add anything because the broth is so good. The spring rolls are really good too and so are the dumplings. My family got the shrimp fried rice and sesame chicken with fried rice and those came out amazing too. Definitely worth a try. Staff is friendly. What a very pleasant surprise. We were running behind to get to a meeting so only had a few minutes to eat and saw this place. We were very happy with our experience. Didn't want to try this place be a the name made me think m it would be another "Americanized fusion white watered" Vietnamese restaurant but was I wrong! Had a great meal of pho, vermicelli bowls, egg rolls and banh mi. Meats were super flavorful if a little on the sweet side, but had a nice char on them. This place was conveniently located next to nail spa. So thought would take advantage of the location. Greeted by staff, with a warm welcome to sit down. Very much a family run business. Makes you feel at home Started off with the shrimp egg rolls, a bit different but nicely fried and crispy. Just imagine a whole fried shrimp with some vegetables. We were pleasantly surprised. Different but scrumptious. My favorite the crab rangoons, these were slightly smaller than the norm, however these were so dang good I could have easily eaten all 6. These literally tasted as if they jumped out of the fryer onto my plate. Next was combo fried rice, this was just average, and kind of tasted sticky. Maybe somewhat over cooked. Terrible service. "What you want?" is not an acceptable way to take an order, full stop. Tasteless pho too. The vegetables were fresh, so there's that. Let's be honest. These type of resturants are known for their budget friendly lunch specials and large portions of food, but Pho Win missed the mark on both. At about $11 a lunch special, it was not as budget friendly as other similar places. They were out of some lunch items during my visit so I settled for brocolli and beef. The meal came with unsweetened tea that was pretty good once sweetened and an egg drop soup that was so-so. I love egg drop soup but couldn't finish this one. The entree itself was really good and the beef was tender, but the brocolli was barely cooked and the raw onions were over powering and dominated the meal. The crispy egg rolls looked over cooked and sloppy and got really tough when they cooled. The crab puffs were the best part of the meal but not worth another visit. read more

Old vegetables, they were not even kept cold, they were at room temperature, kind of gave me the feeling it was leftovers from someone who just left... but that is not why I gave the review 1 star... it is because the pho harsly has meat and the service sucks!! Not once did they check if we were good, only one time a refill was offered, after we had already gone up and wait for one. The owner, i guess, just sits on the table texting, leaving only one employee to serve, and that employee clearly hates his job, we asked for chilli oil and he just turned around and left, no answer... and then he vame back with chilli with no oil. Pho Win is comparable to my all-time favorite pho (Pho Kim Long). You know it's good when the place fills quickly on a chilly, rainy day. The broth is flavorful. Star anise is often used to flavor the beef broth, which can sometimes over power the entire experience. At Pho Win, you can taste the anise, but it's subtle, which I appreciate. It's a MUST try. Only caveat is that it's on Silicon Drive, which gets congested. It's worth facing traffic. I for one am looking forward to trying their grilled pork vermicelli bowl.
