We went here two days in a row; had to go back and try another round of dishes. Very clean place with nice, efficient service. Nothing fancy, but each dish was two meals for me. I recommend trying this place.

One of the best and low-key pho shops in San Antonio! Texas style brisket is used instead of the traditional thinly sliced and high marbled brisket and I am here for it. The pho was beefy, piping hot, and hits the spot.

True whole in the wall deliciousness right here! I was around this area and was looking for some delicious pho. It was a little early in the day and Pho Fresh was the only pho place open at that time. They are located in a small plaza right on the back side of San Antonio College. The place itself is not the most inviting, but the smell in the air from all their delicious food is amazing. For my first time I decided to go with Pho Ga (chicken pho). The broth was absolutely perfection and exactly what I was looking for. It came with all the usual sides and they did not skimp on the noodles. Overall it was an amazing pho and exactly what I was looking for. I can't wait to come back again and try some of the other dishes people have been raving about on their reviews.

Ordered the brisket pho for pickup and it was a 10/10. So much food, great flavor, just amazing!

10/10 great flavor! And so much in their to go orders. I didn't expect for there to be so much meat and sides to go into my pho.

This was my first time here. But definitely not my last! This is a great mom and pop place. The vermicelli and pad Thai were delicious! You walk up and order at the counter. We got water and it is serve yourself. As soon as we sat down our lunch was out. The beef lemongrass vermicelli was super flavorful! The place is small and it was hot outside but they did a great job at having fans everywhere to circulate the air so it wasn't a problem! Great option for lunch when you don't have a lot of time. And the staff was super nice!

Bad food, not like Vietnamese or even Asian taste. The service attitude was not good when we ordered and asked about parking

Items such as spoons are dusty and other items such as tables and chairs are dusty and a bit old, Service attitude was not good when we asked about parking and ordering food Especially the taste of the food is really bad if you want to find an Asian dish to eat because the taste is not like Vietnamese or even Asian at all.

I eat at this restaurant at least once a week and I have never been disappointed by either by the Chinese or Vietnamese food. I love their Bun bowls. I cook them and I have eaten bun in many restaurants all over Texas and theirs is by far the best. The owners marinate their meat for the bowls with lemon grass and it is a little spicy but not too much. Also, the spring rolls are the bomb and just like the ones at Vietnam Restaurant on Broadway, only the parking is better. Several places in town do not use rice paper but they roll their spring rolls with it. It makes their's wonderfully crispy. The restaurant is small and the patrons are college students and locals who are very friendly. This place is a hidden gem. The owners are wonderful, hard working, and provide excellent service. Please support this local business. My hope is that they can eventually open a larger location because their food is so good. I highly recommend this restaurant because of the quality and authenticity of their food.

Wow - awesome new spot! This place just opened near me so had to check it out. Not a lot of Vietnamese places in Tobin Hill area so was thrilled that this new one opened. Cute little spot in behind the Subway off Main right by San Antonio College. Clean and bright inside. I ordered #40 beef lemongrass banh mi, so good! The beef is tender, the bun fresh and perfectly toasted. Fresh veggies on it too. Really impressed with the quality. And it came with crinkle cut fries too, a pleasant surprise. And then 3 sauces as well. Will definitely be back! Want to try the bun/vermicelli next.

After telling the waiter my day was going good he noticed me fighting for my life, head down on the table, and made a point to ask if I was okay again to which I admitted having a massive headache. He brought extra water and suggested soda to relieve the headache and later brought small lollipops. After my tea, pho, and candy, I felt a lot better. Not the first time I received above and beyond customer service experience here and certainly won't be the last. Thank you Peter!

The restaurant appeared clean and well maintained. Service was prompt and friendly, although attentiveness tapered off once the meal was served. It seemed like the staff had shifted their focus toward preparing for the evening dinner crowd. After reading several recommendations, I ordered the Saigon Special since it included grilled pork, chicken, shrimp, and a Vietnamese egg roll. It seemed like a great way to sample several of their specialties. I also started with the fresh Vietnamese spring rolls. The spring rolls were enormous and easily large enough to share. The Saigon Special was equally generous, with a substantial portion of vermicelli noodles underneath the grilled meats. Everything tasted fresh, and each protein was cooked well, but none of the individual components really stood out. The meal leaned more toward generous portions and good value than bold or memorable. Overall, it was an enjoyable lunch with friendly service and excellent portion sizes. While I wasn't blown away by the flavors, I appreciated the freshness and value. I'd definitely come back for the pho, which I remember having a flavorful broth and a generous portion of meat on my previous visit. With several good Vietnamese restaurants in the area, though, I'll probably continue trying other spots before making this one a regular stop.

The bowls were so refreshing and delicious and the pho was perfect. I can't wait to go back! Side note: everytime the older Vietnamese women came to clear our plates as we finished she told us good job for fishing our food and tbh it felt so warming and homey without thought

I am afraid that I must change my review of Pho Kim Long. I am sad to do so because this was one of…read moremy favorite local restaurants for over a decade. However, my most recent encounter has soured me completely, and I think I will never return. My favorite dish here was something that did not appear on the menu, Bo Tai Chanh salad. Even though it was not listed, they would whip it up at my request. It consists of beef cappaccio on an iceberg lettuce salad with Vietnamese vegetables and a fish sauce based dressing. Tonight they refused my order. What makes this refusal all the more frustrating is that Pho Bo Tai Chanh (the soup version) is listed on the menu and promoted as one of the favorite dishes. All that was needed, to meet my request, was to cut up half a head of lettuce and throw the non-liquid ingredients of the soup on top. Every restaurant should remember the customer is always right. Their only purpose is to meet their customers' requests to the best of their ability. I understand when a kitchen cannot meet requests with the ingredients or equipment they have. For example, I always call 24 hours ahead to order Peking Duck because the traditional methods require that amount of time to prepare the dish. Or I remember being refused a request to have my meat served rare when the restaurant had already cooked all its meat to medium rare using sous vide. I don't expect the kitchen to do the impossible. But every kitchen must be ready to meet special request whether health related like peanuts, shrimp, gluten, salt, carbohydrates, etc. or relate to tastes or ethics like vegetarian, vegans, seafood, etc. To fail one's customers is the first step to being one of the numerous restaurants to fail and become irrelevant. Any restaurant that refuses to meet reasonable requests fails the fundamental test for good service and does not deserve to be patronized. P.S. I end up going down the road to Yaya's Thai Restaurant (another local restaurant) to get something that met my tastes and preferences.

All things in my mind brought this down from a 5 star to a 4. Clean up the tables is definitely something the restaurant has control over. We sat down, and the acetone smell dissipated so either I was use to it or they turned down a shared ventilation system. The food though was the big surprise! It was excellent. We ordered the Special House Bun with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and a crispy egg roll. The proportion of vermicelli noodles to fresh lettuce, carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts and peanuts provide d that perfect bite were one ingredient dominated the other. All the proteins were cooked perfectly. The real winner was the lemongrass Banh mi with once again perfectly proportioned ingredients. We also ordered the fresh spring roll, which never came but wasn't missed except that they did try to charge us for but did remove them. They definitely have some work to make this a comfortable dining experience but I wouldn't let it stop you from trying some phenomenal Vietnamese food.
