OMGosh!!!! What a great choice for a birthday lunch. This was my first time here (as well as my nephews first time) and we enjoyed every bit of the experience. The staff was great and welcomed me with a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I felt welcomed. And to top it off, my meal was free. Happy birthday to ME! The ambiance was beautiful. The vibe was peaceful. The food was delicious. I will definitely be returning. Thank you to the amazing staff for a great experience. Thank you, Abby

Welp....they did it yet again! Whenever I have those moments where I cant figure out what I want to eat, I find myself at Thai Hut! It's something about their food that gives me the warm and fuzzies! One of these days I'm going to figure out what it is, but until then, I will continue to indulge. If you're reading this review, I think it's safe to say you're considering this place right? Well stop considering and get over there ASAP.

Lunch Menu with all of our tasty and mouth-watering favorites

It's a great Friday lunch well spent with relatives and friends especially today, both the best servers of Thai Hut here in Potranco are taking care of us--Rabiab and Pawn. Both young ladies are just very attentive and really know what we want and even anticipate what we need. The lunch special selections here are always worth the price we pay, they increase the price but it's still unbeatable. Free refills of freshly brewed thirst quenching iced tea squeezed with lemon wedges, a fried veggie egg roll, soup of the day and the best fish dish with sauce on the side...just yum! Friday lunch time today seemed to be busier than usual but the place is still clean and generally well-kept. It's always a great dining experience here with affordably-priced delicious lunch special selections and great customer service from Rabiab and Pawn. Very personal and warm reception and consistent!

Tasty but not the kick I wanted!

Haven't had this place in years! I will sum it up as ok/to good. I just don't have much to say negative, but doesn't mean it's good either. Let me explain. It's like one thing was really really good and the next thing was just ok! Let's start with the appetizers we ordered. We had the spring rolls and squid. The spring rolls were very good and the dipping sauce, yes! The squid was not very good. It just wants executed properly. The story here is that they really rely way to much on sauce to carry the dish. Honesty, the best thing was the soup they bring you before your meal. That was a wonderful touch, and actually delicious! The misses had what I thought was sweet and sour chicken. Now hear me out...why are restaurants now serving sauce on the side? That genuinely confuses me? It's never enough to cover, and just no! The chicken was BLAND! My panang curry was very delicious! But....yet again it's not as spicy as I think it should've been. I ordered the hottest...it had a slight kick to it. We both agreed it's just ok, but for the price and the portion size not worth for us to come back again. It's a three because that's exactly what it is.

I had triple hot joy . The shrimp red curry was delicious It was hot but I made it through until the last bite. The service was great .They explain in detail how each dish was made.

Lemon chicken (sauce on the side)

So ordered from here for the first time to try something new with the family. The chicken was cooked well and very good. The lemon sauce and sweet and sour sauce was decent as well. Only issue I had really is with the sweet and sour chicken felt they overdid it with the sauce drowning the food. Next time for sure order sauce on the side for me. The pat thai chicken was also pretty good and the spice to it was nice. I think just a little bit of sauce would been good as it was a bit dry but otherwise a good recommendation. The sweet rice with coconut sauce was also interesting it wasn't overbearingly sweet. Overall good experience and would definitely come back to eat here in the future

am not sure why I have taken this long to review this place considering I go about once a week. Hands down the Phai Thai is where it's at! Personally, I don't like peanuts, so I always ask for no peanuts. You have the option on any plate to request the level of spice! I normally go with medium because it is a safe place if you like spicy however, if you dare to try hot be prepared for your mouth to be on fire. Each lunch meal comes with the soup of the day. My favorite soup is a chicken broth that has small pieces of chicken in the. We know MOST waiters personally and each one is kind. I have only experienced one rude waitress who rushes you to order and doesn't let you finish your sentence. They do tend to get packed during lunch and the reviews are true if you try calling in an order you probably will be waiting a little longer than you want so plan ahead. Just a bonus - they sometimes offer a lollipop for my daughter

I ordered the crispy dumplings (pork) and spring rolls as appetizers, and the spicy noodle soup as my entree. My server came to take my order, and brought me the items as they were ready. The entree came out before the appetizers. The spicy noodle soup was spicy (as named) and it was good, but it was incredibly oily and the noodles were overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

Each of the lunch specials come with crab rangoon, egg roll and soup (I chose egg drop soup). We had the Shrimp and Vegetables, Sesame Chicken, and Triple Delight. We noticed the decor had changed (yes, I said it had been many years) and it was quite nice! We were seated promptly and placed our drink order (tea came with lunch). We ordered Rangoon as a starter. The lunch specials came with soup and egg roll, and fried rice. DH ordered his litmus test dish for American style Chinese- General Tso chicken. The portion was generous. The sauce was tasty. The chicken pieces tasted like your average frozen nuggets tossed in sauce. It's that familiar "seasoning" to the chicken and coating- iykyk. Not bad at all, just not the best. He enjoyed his egg drop soup. I opted for Hunan Beef. The sauce was thicker than I prefer, with an almost gelatinous consistency. The hot and sour soup was nice, a little more sour than hot. We both thought the fried rice that came with lunch was a little bland. Maybe the entree version is better? Each special was under $10, and it's definitely a great value.

Walked in and waited for a few minutes before someone handed us menus and told us to sit wherever. Just handed us menus...in a kind of "just go sit down kinda way". Not real friendly. The appetizer we ordered (veggie steamed dumplings) came out with one less dumpling than promised on the menu. My wife's noodles were nothing special, as was my spicy/numbing pot. I felt my pot in particular, was over-loaded with huge chunks of veggies that could have been better chopped as to be more manageable. More chicken and beef in that chicken and beef pot, too, please ... The person waiting on us, if you could call it that, was not personable and could not have cared less about interacting. His drive by meal drop-offs were the epitome of antisocial. Probably won't return.

I have been to this restaurant several times which I did like. It rank higher than the other few places available in San Antonio. The service is always good and from observing I see a lot of Chinese families visiting and chit chatting with who seems to be the owner. I do like that a lot! It gives a positive sign about the restaurant itself The portions are huge! I ordered the whole chicken? Sichuan style. I asked if it is the whole chicken I don't know if language barrier lol she did the sign of no no with her hand. It is actually maybe equal to 2 chickens! Not complaining! I was very happy with it!
