Love this place. We lived out of the area a couple of years ago and to say that I miss having this place literally 5 minutes away would be a colossal understatement. For my birthday meal we drive here from Converse to grab enough takeaway for a couple of meals. Great pork fried rice as always, the samplers weee huge and tasty, the soups were on point - I love their hot & sour, and the beef & broccoli, the lo mein, and the egg foo yung were as good as always. Is it a fancy place? NO. It's a Chinese restaurant on Marbach. Does it hit the spot? EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Subpar at best. I ordered (on the app) combo fried rice, wonton soup, ribs, an egg roll, and a Jasmine tea. They were out of lavender. The ribs sauce was burnt. On the rice, I checked the boxes for no carrots, no snow peas, and no watercress. It came with all of that. The egg roll was edible. The soup was okay. Decided to try a different Chinese spot other than my usual spot T Jin's and well man don't I regret it. Had the General Tso chicken and something was just off. The chicken had a grainy almost dry texture. Sauce was good enough. Fried rice was okay, but dry. Wonton soup was not too my liking, but I'm no expert. Service was up to par. I have no future plans of returning. I really did used to love this place however today I placed a order online for a Orange chicken, General Tso and wings. This order took almost 45 minutes. During this time I saw up to 8 different people get their order. Including a person who walked into the to go area and placed a TO GO order right then and there. They did not call in advanced. They placed an order for some wings and combo rice. Everything was fine they got their food and left while I still waited patiently. When I asked what the wait was they responded it was my wings. I only ordered 10. The same as the person that got their food and left. I continued to wait patiently and after some time I questioned why they got their wings first if they said they were only waiting on those for me. They proceeded to make it seem like I didn't know what I was talking about. At this point I continue to wait patiently cause I really did enjoy the food they served. I would always recommended this place and now with a Health score of 87 and service like this I will not be coming back here. I waited almost a whole hour for no food. I will never be coming back here and I suggest you never come here either. I have been going here since High School and their food has ALWAYS been the best! I was craving their Chicken Lo Mein and Crab Ragoons tonight and they were there for my cravings! This is my go to place for egg drop soup. It is convenient, fast, reasonably priced, and delicious. Egg drop soup is one of my favorite comfort foods. I love the ease and convenience of ordering online through the Yelp app. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes and pick up is very easy. A few times they have started to ring me up and I just tell them i paid online. They look, see that I am correct, and have me sign for pickup. I'm glad they were open on Christmas Eve. I ordered the General Tso's chicken with steamed rice, the dumplings, and Spring rolls. The dinner entree "comes with a side" that costs extra, varying based on what you select. There was not an option online to not have a side. I selected the cheese ragoons as they were the least expensive side. It was 2 for 50 cents I think, so nominal... The General Tso's chicken with steamed rice was good. The chicken had enough spice to be flavorful but not overwhelming. The chicken leftovers reheated well, the rice did not. The dumplings were great. He dipping sauce was soy based with other flavors. It had a strong flavor but not too much. The Spring rolls were fantastic, but a little messy. The "roll" itself was very flakey. The cheese ragoons were pretty good, a little greasy for my preference but my husband liked them. Overall, good little Chinese food chain. So for starters it's an odd setup. Walk into one door to order. Then walk out and into another door to sit down at a table. Dining area was relatively clean. Restrooms were very clean and hospitable. I have to say the music was a bit odd. More like for a club than a restaurant. But to each their own. I ordered the full order of combination lo mein and full order of crab rangoons. Lo mein was a bit too salty but it was good. Ate half of that. Rangoons we're phenomenal!!! Ate 4 of the 6 of those. The gentleman ate the counter was friendly. Told him I had never been here and he just gave me a to go menu and let me look it over. I would have expected a recommendation but that's just me. Food came to my table in to go containers which I found odd but I assume they changed their processes during Covid and just stuck with it. The sampler came with (2-3) bbq short ribs, (2) cheese rangoons, (2)egg rolls, sweet sour pork chicken and shrimp, and (2) chicken wings. It was way more than I anticipated. All of it was good. ALL OF IT! The flavor of the ribs was good but a bit over cooked. I chewed for a lifetime. Very hot fresh food. They also made sure they provided plenty sweet and sour sauce.
