Garlic chicken wings

Y'all .... Y'all ..... come on!! This place is STUPID GOOD!!! It's so hard to even explain the wonderful experience we had there. I love the decor / artwork - very pretty asian paintings. Clean and organized spot for sure! Located next to a Boba spot and some sort of SAPD store front (Not sure what that's about). It's a small menu - which I absolutely love because it isn't overwhelming. The sizes of the plate are huge and plenty to share. We got the Garlic Chicken wings , spicy won ton soup and Mapo Tofu (comes with a serving of rice). Seriously the smells that you experience the second the food is set in front of you is intoxicating! I 100% suggest you try! The prices are definitely better than any restaurant of its kind. Well worth it!

Mapo Tofu

We were in the southside of town earlier this past Saturday. We headed to @shifunoodle for lunch. Hubby had heard about this restaurant through Texas Eats. It's located between a Boba Tea place and SAPD office. Though they're known for their noodle dishes, they have other Chinese dishes. 'We shared the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup with the marinated egg, Mapo Tofu, Sweet and Sour Fish, and Garlic Wings. The noodle and soup was good but the beef was a little dry. Dad loved the Mapo Tofu and the Sweet and Sour Fish. I loved the fish too. We both like anything with lots of sauces. The wings seemed missing the brine and was on the dry side too. The overall experience is good and I would recommend stopping by.

Visiting San Antonio, we were hungry for some Asian food and ran across ShiFu. It is setup as a fast food dining experience but you do get food brought to you at the table. The menu runs as an a la carte list of various noodles, salads, and appetizers. Our choices (ramen and egg rolls) were both amazing, deliciously spiced and blazing hot when they arrived at the table. The server was incredibly attentive and kind. It's the type of service that builds customer loyalty and the food will keep 'em coming. Our bill was surprisingly small and well worth the cost. Highly recommended.

Loved everything I ordered. Cucumbers, wonton soup and spicy shrimp that came with rice. Ordered way too much food and they packed me a Togo box. Service was good and staff consistently checked in to see if I needed anything. Would definitely come back if I am in the area !

Menus are the best I've ever seen, not only with photos but it's written clearly and easy to comprehend and order Many choices per dish but not overwhelmed by fancy descriptive words Booths and chairs and tables. Veggie rice noodle soup was good but needed a little more flavoring in the broth. Fried tofu a little dry but yummy Prices very reasonable around $10 and good portions Service excellent Easy access in strip mall next to SA police station. Free parking HEB plus nearby Would return, only one menu , no matter lunch or dinner They take off 2:30 pm for a break then Back for dinner Bring your own Tupperware for leftover soup, they charge 50cents

Very consistent, delicious food and excellent service. The only drawback is they close at eight because if they were open later, we'll be stalking the place. Nice large booths that can see about six people and murals on the wall and chopsticks and cats for sale waving at you. Szechuan Chinese food is very different from regular Chinese. I highly recommend try all the vegetable dishes and the spicy savory fish and shrimp is delicious don't order traditional Chinese get something unique the cucumber was delicious as well. Recommend the green beans at every meal and the eggplant wok braised has a delicious sauce to it

I'm so glad we went here today, 4/24/2024. The brisket noodle soup, aka pho, was so delicious. Our waitress was exceptionally attentive. We also ordered the jasmine tea. Prices were fair as well. We hope to go back soon and try the braised eggplant!

Spicy Cumin Chicken

ShiFu Noodle is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. It's authentic Szechuan food, so you'll often see Chinese families eating here. I love the Spicy Cuman Beef as well as the Spicy Cuman Chicken. The new Eggplant with Minced Beef dish is amazing (and pretty)! I recommend ordering a few dishes and splitting them around your table. They bring delicious chili oil and soy sauce as well as small plates to help you share. If you order something that's not your thing, I recommend giving them another try because they have a big variety of sweet and savory dishes. If you've got that one friend who just wants to eat basic American-Chinese food, they've got those kind of items on the menu too. But I'd really recommend trying their more authentic dishes because you could order that other stuff anywhere! I've always had good service here. The waitstaff is usually softspoken but attentive. As for ambiance, it's a restaurant in a strip mall, so it's not stunning, but it is clean and well decorated. The music isn't always my favorite. It tends to be dance-party stuff, but it's not too loud. The booths and tables can accommodate big groups well, and I've never run into a wait for seats. The prices are just amazing, given the quality of the food. Everything tastes fresh and is served quickly. You can find plenty of vegetables on the menu, which I like. I used to have to drive out to Szechuan House or Kung Fu Noodle to get great Chinese food, but ShiFu is right up there with those two greats, and it's a very welcome local business in the Mccreless Center!

Oh my gosh, it was absolutely superb! *Chef's Kiss* We were the first people to arrive, which could have been a bummer, but it turned out to be a great experience. Our server was super patient with us since it was our first time there. She gave us some helpful tips and explained the menu items. She even answered all our questions! We started with the Famous Green Beans, the Garlicky Cold "Noods," and some chicken crispy dumplings. I'm not usually a green bean guy, but these were surprisingly good. The chicken crispy dumplings were a really cool twist on gyozas. And the cold garlicky "noods"! I could've had those all by myself and been happy. They were such a great way to start the meal. Most of the entrees are shareable family-style, so the portions are easy for two or more people. As we waited for our entree, I decided to try the Dashi Cooler for a cocktail. It was mellow, refreshing, and a bit tart, but it was a well-crafted drink. I also ordered another cocktail, but I'll tell you more about it later. Our entree of the Love Me or Hate Me Spicy Lamb Cumin arrived with a side of steamed rice. This is definitely a shareable dish. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. The veggies that came with it were seasoned and cooked just right to give them a nice crunch. As we were working this table full of food, I decided to try another cocktail from their specialty menu. I chose the Purple Moon, which is their version of a French 75 with Ube to give it a purple color. It was done really well. I'd definitely order it again on my next visit. According to their menu, happy hour is every day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Overall, we were so impressed with our visit to Dashi that we were talking about having a birthday dinner there that's not for another few months. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu and cocktails. They're definitely a place I'll be visiting again!

The restaurant is small, but spacious and had a very open and welcoming feel. We were immediately seated and given time to explore the menu. We ordered the salt and pepper fish, kung pow chicken, and tofu with vegetables, bbq buns, spring rolls, and pork dumplings. The salt and pepper fish. You don't need anything else else. This was arguably the best fish I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned, light, and crispy and was accompanied by some tender cilantro leaves and stems. I don't know what magic spell they use, but I'll never order anything else. I'm often a creature of habit with my orders and stick to what I know I'll like, but this surpassed my expectations. The pork dumplings were also incredible. It packed so much flavor and moisture in a small bite. The bbq pork buns were pillowy soft with a hint of sweetness and packed full of flavor and tender bbq pork. The spring rolls were steamy hot and crispy. Not as memorable as the other starters, but solid. The kung pow chicken was excellent. It had a nice kick and was cooked perfectly with just enough sauce. The tofu veggies were good (but even better the next day). The tofu was the right texture and the veggies were crisp and seasoned well. The friendly staff, the delicious food, and the chill atmosphere made for a wonderful pre holiday lunch!

I used Doordash, which I usually have pretty good luck with, especially when my son orders it through his own account. After waiting more than twenty minutes after the delivery time, I got a text from the dasher telling me to cancel the order. My son had already told me about that scam. You go into the app and get the support folks to cancel it, or it is called "customer initiated" and you lose your refund. Anyway, Doordash had the order redone and delivered with a new driver. Let's get to Sichuan Garden. I ordered from here because they had some "non- standard" offerings. I lived in Taiwan a while back and upon return to the US never acquired a taste for the supposedly authentic Americanized dishes. I ordered stir fried pork tripe and pork intestines in spicy chili sauce. I got a complimentary side of fried rice with each of them. I also ordered beef lomein for my son and 4 eggrolls. I tasted the lomein, and it was just okay. I have definitely had better. The egg rolls were "delivery soggy" but tasted fantastic. Can't complain there. The trip and intestine dishes were both delicious. I could eat them every day for the rest of my life and be satisfied. The fried rice, though, was awful. I used it the next day to make a much more improved version at home. All in all, I like the food from Sichuan Garden. I am anxious to go there and dine in. There are some other "non-standard" items I want to try.

A few years ago it was Pho. So, I do have a favorite, but I still need to try new places. Well, I am, & this place is pretty phenomenal. The inside is so sweet & simple. You feel real comfortable & peaceful being in there I found them just by driving through the parking lot looking for Holy Pops for a Yelp Elite event. I wanted to try them out, & I'm so happy I did. They exceed my expectations. I walked in & was greeted by one of the waitresses, I let her know it would be a to go order, but I've never been there. She explained how things could be ordered. Steamed vs fried, for example. I regret not snapping photos of the menu, but they have one online. For that matter my food was consumed before a single photo was taken. (That's how you know it's good! At least with me! ) I went with an order of pan fried dumplings, an order of pan fried pork bao, & one order steamed pork bao. Do not be in a rush when you come. Everything is made fresh. You want it to be. Oh my goodness. These bao are amazing. The dough is the perfect thickness, IMO. The meatball inside though mine were a little larger than a golf ball.
