    C-4. Moo Goo Gai Pan

Hadn't been here in years and I'm glad I came in. Brought some coworkers and they loved it. Had the daily special mugu guy pan which I had never had before my plate was huge. Food tasted great and the server was fast and friendly,

Combo lunch special: Moo Goo Gai Pan and Sweet and Sour Pork, fried rice, and egg roll.

After running a few errands with my mom, we were wanting a bite to eat. The place had come on my feed recently and wasn't too far away. The place is tucked in to the corner of a strip center, adjacent to some sketchy apartments. We were greeted promptly and invited to choose our own table. There were a couple of other tables occupied. Our server soon visited to take our drink order. I ordered iced tea. I liked that this place had daily specials. I chose the combo lunch special which came with moo goo gai pan, fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and an egg roll. Our food was brought soon after. The moo goo gai pan had decent flavor. The sweet and sour pork was a little heavy on the sweet side. I'd prefer the sauce on the side so the pork could be dipped in it. The egg roll was decent, but nothing spectacular. I did catch a glimpse of a lemon chicken plate, and it looked mighty tasty. If I ever make it back here (which is highly unlikely), I will probably give that try.

Food was great. Fried rice was very good. Service was pretty good too no complaints there. And the place itself well I mean it is what it is. Clean. I would definitely recommend and return myself.

I walk in and I'm greeted by gentleman tells me I can sit wherever I like I ask him where is Eric section because Eric is the best waiter I have ever had if you do decide to come to this restaurant ask for Eric he will take care of you. I ordered double lemon chicken with fried rice and egg roll and the egg drop soup with crunchies. I waited about 10 minutes for my food and everything came out delicious it was worth me coming to this restaurant to see what it was about I will be back restaurants clean so are the restrooms plenty of parking outside.

Great lunch. I took my food to go. Quick service, friendly people. Always a pleasure to eat lunch from Golden Kirin.

So I haven't been here for a bit but it used to be my go to for good, inexpensive Chinese food...not any more! I order the combo lunch plate and it was $9.99. It used to be $6.99. I know inflation is alive and well but ugh. The food was tasty. But the portion sizes were skimpy. It was almost $13 for a combo lunch special and an egg drop soup. I would go back but I wouldn't drive out of my way to order from there.

I think this is your typical greasy Chinese take out. Do not go here with high expectations and you will be ok. I ordered the pork fried rice, egg rolls, and beef with mushrooms. The egg rolls had a classic taste that I love but do not find everywhere, I think they are made with the traditional crab. Which I do not like seafood, but for this taste I will make an exception. The pork fried rice was good, typical greasy take out.

Ma Paw Tofu with a lot of oil and no veggies

I was starving and just wanted something decent for dinner, so I decided on Golden Kirin. I ordered a Hot & Sour soup and the Ma Paw Tofu with white rice for takeout. The restaurant is very simple, no frills on the corner of a large strip mall. The lady at the front counter was nice. There were diners at three tables which for middle of the day during the week can be a good sign. I noticed a roach crawling across the carpet which can be a bad sign. The hot & sour soup was tasty and had a nice amount of veggies and ribbons of egg. My Ma Paw Tofu tasted okay, but it was nothing special. This is the first time I've ordered Ma Paw Tofu that didn't come with a blend of vegetables, only pieces of green onions. The tofu squares were small, and there was a good amount of oil sitting in the bottom of the takeout container. Overall, the food wasn't terrible, but underwhelming compared to similar dishes I've had from other places. Total for the food came out to about $14, not bad for something quick but some veggies in the entree would've made a better impression in my opinion.

Lunch specials are great here, especially if you're on a budget. Food is yummy, never disappointing. Small restaurant, but we always pick up to avoid waiting. Fast and friendly service. Lunch specials are available for takeout with tea!

We tried some new-to-us dishes recently and generally found them to be very good. Orange Chicken was not overly battered, big chunks of white chicken meat, not too saucy and just a hint of spice. Real orange peel, too, which makes all the difference! We also ordered the Spicy Combination with beef, chicken, and shrimp. Carrots, peppers, bamboo in the dish provided a bit of veggie balance. Not our most favorite, but still very good. As per usual, we started with steamed dumplings and crab puffs; DH added a cup of egg drop soup- this place serves his favorite egg drop soup. Everything was delicious. I always ask for chili oil for that extra added kick! I do wish that the dishes labeled "spicy" were actually spicy. They really aren't spicy at all. Don't let the little pepper symbol deter you. Always clean, always prompt, always good!

The lunch specials came with soup and egg roll, and fried rice. DH ordered his litmus test dish for American style Chinese- General Tso chicken. The portion was generous. The sauce was tasty. The chicken pieces tasted like your average frozen nuggets tossed in sauce. It's that familiar "seasoning" to the chicken and coating- iykyk. Not bad at all, just not the best. He enjoyed his egg drop soup. I opted for Hunan Beef. The sauce was thicker than I prefer, with an almost gelatinous consistency. The hot and sour soup was nice, a little more sour than hot.
