We came yesterday around 6:15om, a short wait as the waitress needed to clear the table. -5 minutes later the place was packed! We ordered sukothai padthai medium heat, crispy pork fried rice spicy, chicken basil Thai spicy. Chicken satay as appetizer. True to what they posted in the wall, their dishes are spicy. The medium is comfortable for me, I like the fact that it has a little bite, I didn't expect to taste belachan in pad Thai but it was pretty good. Fried rice is a little notched in heat but pretty delicious. The chicken basil is even hotter. So, they are not kidding about spiciness level. We haven't tried sukothai spicy level yet, it will be for another visit. Satay is neutral. Very happy with the service and the place is very comfortable. Will visit again when I come back to San Antonio. read more

I have been a frequent customer of this restaurant, but after my shocking experience today. Recently, I found a small stone in my food. I originally sent an email with photos to report this issue, but received zero response. When I followed up by phone, the staff member who spoke with my husband and me was actually very nice, acknowledged the situation, and told us to come back within two weeks to have it remade.  When I went in today, the experience was appalling from start to finish: Zero Accountability & Unacceptable Excuses: The woman at the front greeted me with a blatant bad attitude and insisted she had heard nothing about my situation. Instead of apologizing for finding a foreign object in my food, she actually tried to normalize it by claiming that finding stones in Thai or Asian food "happens." A pebble in a dish is a serious food safety hazard. Trying to excuse it rather than offering a sincere apology shows a complete lack of professionalism and basic hygiene standards. Disrespectful Treatment: I intentionally placed and paid for an additional order today because I felt bad about just walking in for a free replacement. Yet, despite us paying money and continuing to support the business, I was treated with nothing but hostility and condescension. Incompetent Handling of Loyalty App: When I pointed out missing points from a prior visit, she simply brushed it off saying she had no idea. During checkout, she snapped that I had to show the app before paying--something no staff member had ever informed me about before. To be met with excuses, bad attitude, and disrespect over their own severe mistake is completely unacceptable and so dissatisfying. This place has always made fantastic food, and the staff we spoke with on the phone were very kind, but just this one person's terrible attitude and service will inevitably drive customers away and hurt the business. For context, the person who gave this awful service was a middle-aged woman with unbound black hair touching her shoulders, who seems to act like she's in charge whenever the real manager isn't around. Management urgently needs to address their food safety standards and properly control what staff are doing when you are not there. The food was always fantastic, and the person who spoke with my husband and me on the phone was very nice. But not that lady. I made an accidental order at this location rather than the one close to my house but, I have to say I'm glad I did. The family there and hospitality will make me come back again. We ordered takeout yesterday and it was amazing! We got the Pad Thai with Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Pork Belly Fried Rice. Every dish was well seasoned and had the perfect level of spice. We especially enjoyed being able to order the Sesame Chicken -Hot-; the chicken was either all or mostly white meat and it was chopped into perfect bite size pieces. I ordered a pick up. I told the restaurant I wasn't able to pick it up. But I still got a charge and got a receipt that the food was pick up. When that is a lie. I will be calling my banks and showing them the phone recording of me calling to cancel my order. read more

We ordered food for carry out. It was very busy, but service was friendly. The food was prepared quickly. The only disappointment was the beef peppers mostly onions and peppers for $13.99 it was too pricey. We would not recommend that dish. The pad Thai and sweet and sour chicken was great. read more

It's been a few years since I had been back to San Antonio and wanted to try another location of my favorite Thai place. I doubt it matters which location of sukhothai you go to, the food is excellent. The service is decent for a quick bite. Inside plenty of seating, a lot of to go orders in this location. I visited this restaurant for dinner with my partner. I liked the idea of having a good Thai place close by. The parking is semi limited as it is shared with a gas station. We dined in and noticed that it is quite warm, which didn't bother me but did bother my partner. He ordered curry and I ordered pad woonsen with tofu. We also had our very first bowl of tom yum soup (insanely delicious). My pad woonsen wasn't as good as other restaurants but I am motivated to come by for other plates. It is kind of expensive, especially considering the hole in the wall aesthetic, but it can be forgiven. My partner rated it a 4/5, I would consider it a 3.5/5. We will likely be back but I do not think this is "our" new Thai place. read more

Tried this out for the first time. I know it's a Thai food place but we actually ordered Chinese. Ordered the dumplings for an appetizer. These were really good. We always do pickup and the food is always delicious. It is always hot! The staff is super nice.

This was my first time trying Thai food and it was immaculate. It's a small but very, very mighty restaurant. The service was amazing as well-- our server checked on us often and always with a smile, took a group photo of us after she saw me taking a photo of the food, and also boxed our leftovers up for us. I was in the mood for some Thai food and I noticed this delicious looking restaurant on here and decided to give it a try! It was my first time ever coming here so I looked at the website and wrote down my order in advance so I was prepared to take it to go. When I gave my written order to the employee she was very sweet and offered me a fresh water while I wait since it was insanely hot outside! When I finally got the chance to try the food I was so amazed at how delightful the food was! I got the Massaman Curry & Beef Noodle Soup, both did not disappoint! I was so happy at how big the portions were cause I was so hungry and they definitely satisfied my needs! I would definitely come here again to try out more of the intriguing food items they offer. I always am a huge supporter of a small business. There are two things which annoy me a lot. Charging customers a fee for using credit card. They have a sticky note posted for it. To save some cents you would be losing customers. Secondly inadequate portion sizes. Green curry was served with decent portion for the curry and inadequate rice portion. The spiciness goes from 1 to 4. We ordered 3 and it was spicy enough for us to complete food with bubble tea. When we walked in the place had an unpleasant smell and got down after a while. They have a few tables and a decent seating area. Some of staff members were friendly. Had to ask few times for cutlery and plates. Nothing stood out from what we tried apart from the green curry which was nice. The appetizers and the fried rice were ok..ok nothing to be amazed about. read more

Ordered on the phone for pick up order. Food was exceptional and the wait was not too long. The food resembled my favorite Thai food back home in Dallas! I was super pleased with my curry I got. I also order the sweet and sour chicken, but they however gave me sesame chicken instead. It was still good but I did not realize my order was incorrect until after a 20 minute drive. With Spicy Ginger closing it's doors in May, I was looking for my new go to Thai spot. I have found it with Sukhothai! I was able to place my order through their website and was there within 10 minutes. I recommend placing the order to go as the dining area is quite small with only a couple of tables. My food was already packed and ready to go so the service was fast and the cashier was friendly. I decided to try their Panang Curry with chicken, spice level hot. I also got a vegetable roll and steamed rice. The curry was sensational with the right amount of heat! The vegetable roll was a little small but still was a nice accompaniment to the curry. I really liked that my meal was less expensive compared to what I use to pay at Spicy Ginger but the quality was on par (if not better). The FRIED PORK RICE!!!! Nestled next to a gas station, there is very limited parking options. You can order online for pickup or even for delivery. Some may consider the location a hole in the wall, but it is truly a gem. My father is not a fan of any type of Thai/Asian food but he tried my favorite (fried pork rice) and he was in love!
