Wow...Im a big fan of the heat that Thai good brings, and I do order accordingly (i.e., I'm usually a "medium" spice level). I ordered the chicken larb, medium spicy level and holy moly! It was what I would consider more of a Thai hot level. Actually, inedible. The spice level completely obliterated any other flavors that would normally be enjoyed with this dish. The food comes out fast, and the flavors are the best you can get with Thai cuisine. Went during busy lunch hour! One waitress had to cover all tables. It was a challenge for her but she did a good job!! As part of the lunch special we got salads and soup. The salad was cabbage and carrots with a sweet dressing. The soup was a flavorful broth with cabbage and broccoli in it. Pad thai was slightly spicy with a full rich flavor. Additionally whenever the waitress came to give us our order, she would place them all onto one side of the table and walk away, leaving us to have to pass around our meals and drinks to who they belonged to ourselves. It lists tofu as one of the ingredients!!!!! all I wanted was no meat !!!!! never wasting time going there again!!!!! I finally had the chance to visit Baan Thai restaurant. The basil fried rice with level 1 spice was a delightful choice, especially with the addition of extra eggs and cashews--it sounds like a tasty combination. My cousins, opting for the chicken basil fried and drunken noodles at higher spice levels (4 and 3) said the spice level was intense flavorful. I felt the portion sizes for the cost we paid was less. The boxes do not come filled up to the top. It's something they need to work on. We got some red chili paste and chili powder. They were good in taste and flavor. Unassuming from the outside and typical strip mall set up, nice waitress but had no recommendations. I got my stand-by pad se ew- it noodles had a nice chew and it was tasty- I would get extra Chinese broccoli next time- if you like spice and not the white pepper kind, there is some red pepper siracha like paste on the table. Amazing Thai food! Extensive menu, but they have "popular!!!" written by their more famous dishes. The pad Thai was really really good. At level 2 the spice was barely there, could easily go a 3 next time. Their spice levels go from 1-5. My husband and I tried fresh vegetable rolls, chicken pad Thai and beef bbq. We left with leftovers and a big smile on our face. The food was well seasoned and great portions. The bbq was worth the $20 as the choice of beef was fresh and tasty. You could taste the soy sauce marinade. Typically I find pad Thai to be slightly heavy but their pad Thai was light yet filling. The veg rolls had a nice combo of bean sprouts, basil, carrot, romaine. I probably wouldn't order it again at $7 but the peanut dip that came alongside was memorable. I'd try another appetizer next time. The place is casual and a little warm inside. it's a chill place to grab dinner or lunch. This was a restaurant my wife found on Yelp. She suggested we try it as the reviews were good. It's in a strip center at the corner of Heibner road and Floyd curl. A favorite Thai dish for me is basil stir fry. When I saw it on the menu I decided to try it with shrimp. I was really glad I did. Fantastic dish! Pad Thai is great too. The restaurant is small and appears very clean. Service is good but not exceptional. For those looking for some great Thai food I'd recommend you give it a shot. I've been here a dozen times and honestly the food just gets better and better everytime. Right away we are greeted and while we wait to order they waitress brought over vegetable soup. Great flavor. The food was piping hot and obviously freshly made. We tried the fried spring rolls as an appetizer - crunchy and satisfying! Next the garlic rice soup with chicken and combo pho - so flavorful!! The broth for both of these was so good and I appreciate that they gave us all the pho toppings and noodles on the side. Finally the combo pad Thai was delicious and so yummy! A coworker that shares my love for Thai food chose this place for lunch, and I'm so glad she did. It's a small and cute place in a strip mall. Service was friendly but it could definitely use some improvement. The food was outstanding, lots of flavor. They have an extensive menu and great lunch specials. They gave us a vegetable soup cup that was super comforting on a rainy day. I meant to order Pad Wood Sen but ordered Pan See Ew instead (it was a long day, my bad!) but I was NOT SORRY at all! My food was absolutely delicious. So delicious I forgot to take photos but we order a big appetizer sampler that was super good and i did take a photo of that. Another thing that I loved about this place is that each table has a set of condiments so you can adjust the flavor of your dish to your liking. This is some of the best Thai food I have tasted in San Antonio. I have been here a couple of times now and each time did not disappoint. Absolutely love the pad Thai and other pad dishes. The food was excellent. We had a variety of dishes and all but the fresh rolls were very good and fresh. The rolls were mostly noodles and not much else. We were the only one in the restaurant on a Monday night at 7 and I thought the service would be better. The waitress was nice but she rarely came to the table to check on us as and I had to ask for more drinks and napkins by getting up to go find her around the corner. There was a young man that took care of us and he was so tentative. We didnt have to ask for refills and came up to us to see how our meals were. Very great service! We ordered the beef pa-nag curry (level4) and the green chicken coconut curry (level 3). It comes with a side of white rice. We loved the flavors of each dish. The portions here are ginormous! But not only that, the food is amazing! I definitely think that this is one of the best Thai restaurants in SATX. I ordered the panang curry with tofu and an order of the drunken noodles to go. Our entire party was happy with what they ordered and definitely surprised by the amount of food. They also have self serve unlimited salad--it's a very simple set up with mixed greens and a selection of dressing. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating and the service is great.
