Their service is great and their combination Pad Thai, to die for! This restaurant has been here forever and I hope they never leave.

Came here with friends for a weekend dinner. Location is clearly a little older and could do with newer furniture and lighting. However, it was fairly clean. Service was fast and food came quick. I ordered the Pepper Steak which was 3/5 in my opinion, but with fair pricing. I would give the location an almost pub-like ambiance with the dated decor. My friend said that she's been eating here for years and wanted me to come and try the place. We came at a time it wasn't very crowded thankfully and was able to be seated quickly. Our waitress was very nice to us and was able to get our orders in quick. The place did look clean and a nice little setup inside with plenty of seats. I had ordered some spring rolls which were very hot but did taste good. I absolutely loved the panang curry. You can really taste the coconut and was very creamy. The chicken was cooked perfectly to me but will definitely ask for it to be spicier next time (they give you options for spice level 1 to 10 and I did 6 not sure how spicy it gets). I did find it more soupy for me but the rice did help. Wish I had a bit more rice to help it though. My friend also ordered the classic pad thai which was also pretty good. It was cooked how she liked it but definitely better if spicy. It was definitely a good experience overall and definitely would recommend for anyone to try. read more

The service was amazing with polite yet professional help. Really liked the attentiveness and effort to make things perfect. The food was outstanding really enjoyed the pad thai and choice of hotness for the spice. I like that our server asked if we wanted from 1 to 10 with one being not spicy and 10 being very spicy. Solid restaurant with great lunch specials. It's clean and organized with a welcoming vibe. You can get a full meal for under $11.00 which is very rare these days. Is it the best Thai in San Antonio? No, but there are a lot worse options out there. The service is always friendly and fast during the lunch hour. The lunch specials come with soup and a spring roll. We were in the mood for Thai and luckily this place was open a little later than most restaurants near us! When we pulled up we were the only people in the parking lot and they looked surprised when we came in, but they were super kind and didn't make us feel uncomfortable at all for being there a bit later. This was probably the best sesame chicken we've had in a while! Super crispy and white meat, which we prefer more anyway (I know.. weird lol) -- the chicken pad thai was not the best I've ever had tbh but nothing soy sauce and sriracha couldn't fix. It wasn't very flavorful and the vegetables were undercooked unfortunately so the overall quality I would say was 6/10. The crab Rangoon came in these mini spring roll papers and they were okayyyy.. interesting flavor but it came with a lot for the price. I'd try them at an earlier time next time to see if the food is better! read more

I've been coming here since my college days (eek- over 20 some years ago) and it seems nothing has changed- which is a good thing! You can't go wrong with their most popular Pad Thai dish but they also offer a wide array of all Thai dishes in spice levels 0-10. Pictured below is the lunch special Thai chicken noodle soup my son got and it was HUGE & delicious. Lunch specials are $9.99 and include soup of the day as well as a spring roll with your entree. Hard to find lunch specials that include that much at that price point. Thai iced tea was excellent as well. Service was fantastic, younger female who waited on us was friendly and attentive to our group of 4. We will continue to make the trip from across town just to dine here. read more

I tried Thai Restaurant again for the first time in months since I happened to be in the area. I ordered my usual, Pad Woon Sen with Chicken. It was great, just like the old days. The fried rice looked more like Spanish rice and didn't have a specific flavor. The rice used to be good so this was disappointing. I was able to place my order online and it was ready early but I was present when the chef walked out in his cute uniform to deliver it. I was only given one fried spring roll and remembered the days when the lunch special came with more rolls but I guess that is inflation for you. I'm just glad the entree was tasty again and plan to be back! read more

Terrific Thai 2.0 So after the deliciousness I digested last week, I decided to cater my coworker's Birthday Meal at Thai Restaurant. We just completed our luncheon and everyone was in love with the Pad Thai and fried rice, and might I add the cheese rolls took us over the top. I'm still rubbing my pot belly (cheat day). I'm glad I hit the gym yesterday because I indulged in everything today. The food smelled so good and was ready when I arrived. The Owner, Mr Pi assisted with getting the food to my car and am pleased with the price to cater a party of 26 people. We all were satisfied and had plenty of food for leftovers ( inner Jackie dances up and down as she realizes there are no dinner dishes) . Again not sure how I just found Thai Restaurant, but this will be my go to meal for a quick lunch. I'm pleased to help and support local businesses, and I hope you dine here, especially during COVID, all businesses need the Support and I will be back often. Recently, I'd had Pad Woon Sen from here twice in 2020 for lunch, but last weekend, we also ordered the Vegetable Tempura, Summer Rolls, and Pad Thai as well for dinner! It was SO great that my husband just claimed a new favorite Thai place in the middle of a pandemic! You can call in your order, and when you arrive, phone them again and they will bring the food and bill to your car. They made it incredibly easy, and the staff is super nice as well. Came with soup and a spring roll. Soup temperature could have been hotter, but it was ready-to-eat. We also got the Spicy Fish, 10 spice level. It was spicy and delicious but one thing to note is that the menu says it's stir-fried fish. I expected chunks of fresh fish (not battered) stir fried in with vegetables. Clearly it isn't. It's 2 big pieces of tempura-battered fish, topped with stir-fried vegetables and served with a side of rice and a spring roll. Also came with soup. Very good Thai, and friendly service. This place was closed; they renovated and reopened just a couple months ago.the dining room is bright and very clean. I had the Panang curry with chicken, only spice level 5 (1-10). Glad I did, 5 is a nice spicy level. They also have good condiments like prik nam pla, a fish sauce with chilies. Half the places I've been either don't have or offer it, or they only make it from fish sauce and chilies. This place takes effort and makes their version with added citrus (or something similar). Nice touch. Lunch comes with a soup, today it was hot & sour. They even asked if I wanted more which I thought was a nice touch. I'm looking forward to trying their pad woon sen. This was a good place. I had the combo pad Thai, fresh spring rolls, cheese rolls, and fried spring rolls. (Yes, this is for one) The vibe of the place is very chill. I was a bit nervous when I rolled up and didn't see anyone parked near by. But I imagine their ouch rush was buzzin! My wife and I were greeted immediately and the food came out hot and pretty quick. Top of the line ingredientes, great taste. However, the cooking methods could be improved, my Thai basil was a bit watery; but still delicious! Just a tip to the owner: true frying is above 212 degrees. If water is still present it's scientifically impossible to fry something. This is a little hole in the wall at the corner of Babcock and Callaghan. I have eaten here a few times for lunch. The staff is friendly, but can be pushy at times. They tell you to pick where you would like to sit, but then will ask you to move if they would rather you have picked another table. The service is prompt and the prices are good. Most of their soups served with lunch are good, but I don't care for their hot and sour. It is actually really sweet, too sweet, and not spicy at all. The vegetable soup is better than most. It is very soothing and was therapuetic for my allergies. The Pad Woon Sen is good. It's not the best, but decent. There is more cabbage and onions than most, a little too much for me, but I just pick around it when it gets tiring. The fried rice is very simple and good. The spring rolls are great. read more

DELICIOUS!!! My little family of three ordered takeout from here for the first time ever. We got Chicken Pad Thai (spice level 4 out of 10). Absolutely delicious... Come to think of it, they left out the lime and I think the crushed peanuts too but I didn't even notice. It was so good!! My toddler really enjoyed it too. She's usually very picky with chicken but she ate every piece in her bowl! We also ordered Sesame Chicken (spice level 5) and this was just phenomenal. The batter to chicken ratio is perfect. Perfect sweet/salty flavor. Just yummy. Last thing we got was the 12ct Crab Rolls which I thought were interesting at first. I've only ever seen Rangoons, never rolls. They were also amazing!! Everything was just so yummy and enjoyable. And to top it off, one of the lovely ppl called me to let me know my food was ready and when we arrived, he came out with our food and check with a mask on. We arrived on a Monday night a little over an hour before closing. One other party. Seated, ordered some hot tea and a refreshing Watermelon Boba Tea. I guess we were talking, looking over the menu. Our waitress, the only other person in the front of house, Wanna, began rushing us, telling us with little subtlety that we should order soon. After the food came, she made another comment regarding closing time. During our meal, she came over several times, listened to our conversation, and made some comments about it that were unsolicited. At closing time, she essentially told us we needed to leave. This all made for one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences, regardless of the food. I am still going to give it two stars because the food overall was pretty good, and I realize Wanna was not purposely being rude. She probably did not even realize it was making us uncomfortable. The service she provided other than what is started above was good. No more ribs. Instead, we got the Chicken Satay, which we liked. Duck Soup had great flavor, infusing the noodles, needed more vegetables, unfortunately the duck was sliced so sparingly and overcooked that it was dry and almost inedible. Very little meat. Lo Mein was good, fresh vegetables and the chicken was moist. Seafood Red Curry was actually very good. Ample amount of seafood, Curry was sweet with spices and flavor, with the heat level perfect for me (mild but enough to add that zing). We also had a side of sticky rice which was a great compliment. read more

The most authentic Thai food in San Antonio (we are from LA, where the Thai food was top notch).The owners know us so well they have our favorite dishes memorized! They are sweet and generous people.
