The service was amazing with polite yet professional help. Really liked the attentiveness and effort to make things perfect. The food was outstanding really enjoyed the pad thai and choice of hotness for the spice. I like that our server asked if we wanted from 1 to 10 with one being not spicy and 10 being very spicy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This tiny entrance in a strip mall between Babcock and Callahan is easy to miss but well worth the effort to find.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is moderately decorated with Thai decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] See photos!

Solid restaurant with great lunch specials. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's clean and organized with a welcoming vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can get a full meal for under $11.00 which is very rare these days. Is it the best Thai in San Antonio? No, but there are a lot worse options out there. The service is always friendly and fast during the lunch hour. The lunch specials come with soup and a spring roll. The soup changes from time to time. Today's was Egg drop soup.

Food and service was great. Had the fried spring rolls and red curry. Food was hot and fresh. Staff was very friendly as well.

We were in the mood for Thai and luckily this place was open a little later than most restaurants near us! When we pulled up we were the only people in the parking lot and they looked surprised when we came in, but they were super kind and didn't make us feel uncomfortable at all for being there a bit later. This was probably the best sesame chicken we've had in a while! Super crispy and white meat, which we prefer more anyway (I know.. weird lol) -- the chicken pad thai was not the best I've ever had tbh but nothing soy sauce and sriracha couldn't fix. It wasn't very flavorful and the vegetables were undercooked unfortunately so the overall quality I would say was 6/10. The crab Rangoon came in these mini spring roll papers and they were okayyyy.. interesting flavor but it came with a lot for the price. I'd try them at an earlier time next time to see if the food is better!

In an unassuming old strip mall at the corner of Babcock & Callaghan you just might find some of SA's best Thai food. I've been coming here since my college days (eek- over 20 some years ago) and it seems nothing has changed- which is a good thing! You can't go wrong with their most popular Pad Thai dish but they also offer a wide array of all Thai dishes in spice levels 0-10. Pictured below is the lunch special Thai chicken noodle soup my son got and it was HUGE & delicious. Lunch specials are $9.99 and include soup of the day as well as a spring roll with your entree. Hard to find lunch specials that include that much at that price point. Thai iced tea was excellent as well. Service was fantastic, younger female who waited on us was friendly and attentive to our group of 4. We will continue to make the trip from across town just to dine here.

Terrific Thai 2.0 So after the deliciousness I digested last week, I decided to cater my coworker's Birthday Meal at Thai Restaurant. We just completed our luncheon and everyone was in love with the Pad Thai and fried rice, and might I add the cheese rolls took us over the top. I'm still rubbing my pot belly (cheat day). I'm glad I hit the gym yesterday because I indulged in everything today. The food smelled so good and was ready when I arrived. The Owner, Mr Pi assisted with getting the food to my car and am pleased with the price to cater a party of 26 people. We all were satisfied and had plenty of food for leftovers ( inner Jackie dances up and down as she realizes there are no dinner dishes) . Again not sure how I just found Thai Restaurant, but this will be my go to meal for a quick lunch. I'm pleased to help and support local businesses, and I hope you dine here, especially during COVID, all businesses need the Support and I will be back often. Might I add, customer service is key and it is Truly amazing here. It is Highly recommended from this Yelper for a Great meal at a Great Price ~ Pictures Included ~ Ms. Foodie AKA the Islandgal29412

    #5. Fried Wonton

Quaint restaurant with decent food. The first worker we encountered just stared at us and walked away, but our actual waitress was really nice and helpful. Fried wontons were rolled versus what I'm used to seeing, but it tasted good. We had the Lunch Pad Thai and it came with a spring roll. Pad Thai was normal, nothing fancy and met expectations. Spring roll was just okay.

First of all, thank you Thai Restaurant for keeping me from having to enter the restaurant. Recently, I'd had Pad Woon Sen from here twice in 2020 for lunch, but last weekend, we also ordered the Vegetable Tempura, Summer Rolls, and Pad Thai as well for dinner! It was SO great that my husband just claimed a new favorite Thai place in the middle of a pandemic! You can call in your order, and when you arrive, phone them again and they will bring the food and bill to your car. They made it incredibly easy, and the staff is super nice as well. Thanks for satisfying a craving! It was so delicious, I couldn't stop eating. We'll be back in a few weeks.

Served with iceberg lettuce. This was a hit. The tofu was perfectly crispy outside, softer inside and the sauce was delicious and perfectly balanced. First time: service was cool-shoulderish but the food was fantastic. We were all BLOWN AWAY. I thought the price a little high for what you get. I swear, there was an issue with my order. I'm telling you now...I didn't order the tofu, so when they delivered it to my table I asked....but they showed me my receipt, which said I did. I was skeptical, but whatever. I think the touchscreen ordering screwed me... Y'all, I wouldn't order tofu in a million years, I don't like it...but ended up eating the entire dish. It was fantastic! Talk about being surprised. Today, was extremely careful on the touchscreen when ordering, and went with the beef curry and chicken. My thoughts when it came out: is there even any beef in this? This is soup, not curry. Oh, and it's not even hot. It's barely even warm. Then, a co-worker was legit served the wrong dish. So, she goes to bring it to their attention, and the server borderline argues with her ...basically telling her "yes, that is what you ordered" - even though she had a receipt showing otherwise. Service is not friendly. Food costs too much. Ambiance is a mix of hole-in-the-wall, eclectic, retro...walls covered in weird posters. I like the vibe, seriously, I just wish the food was worth it and the people were nicer.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.

Every dish feels thoughtfully curated with tried-and-true recipes rooted in Chef Luca and his family's Northern Italian traditions. This is the kind of place where quality takes priority over quantity. Our server, Gary, was fantastic. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about Italian food and wine. His recommendations were spot-on and his enthusiasm felt so genuine. We started with a bread basket accompanied by a little sampling of tapenade, which was savory, briny, and a perfect complement to the warm bread. Came in with a group of four, we kicked things off with the burrata starter--a surprisingly fun and shareable adventure of baked burrata, fresh crostini, roasted cauliflower, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and basil cream. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked beautifully together. For our entrées, we ordered the Tartufo, Cinghiale, Bolognese, and Carbonara. And let me just say, the Tartufo was a full-on dinner performance. Gary brought out steaming hot tagliatelle pasta and tossed it tableside inside a giant wheel of Parmesan. He then topped it with crab meat in brown butter before finishing it with a generous shaving of truffle. Every bite was like a perfectly timed symphony of flavors--rich, savory, buttery, and earthy, with nothing outshining the other. I'd put this dish up against anyone's nonna. I sampled the other three entrées as well, and every one was delicious. The gnocchi in the Cinghiale is an absolute must-try--pillowy, texturally delightful, and packed with flavor. Thank you, Nonna Osteria, for such an epic culinary experience. And a special shoutout to Gary for guiding us through the menu and making an already great dinner even better.
