Amazing restaurant with great food! At first, I didn't like the idea of brisket with thai curry but this place proved me wrong. The pork belly and brisket were so soft and they melt in your mouth. The curry soup was not overpowering either. It is a very casual place and great for going with friends. You order at the front and seat yourself. This is high on my list to recommend my friends when they visit San Antonio!

Brilliant idea to mix curry with Texas bbq, with some Asian dish elements. The brisket smoked bowl I had is delicious. The rice is cooked perfectly with flavorful green curry and tender brisket. Cute decor and friendly staffs. Something different to try other than the traditional heavy greasy bbq.
5 stars is not enough for me to give to curry boys bbq. This is definitely one of the best meal I have ever eaten! Who would have thought that curry and bbq are one of the best combinations?!!!! We ordered the brisket bowl, magic mushroom and some pork belly for appetizers and the brisket melts in your mouth. Service was good. They were very patient with us since it was our first time and they gave us amazing recommendations. The ambiance here is very normal, it like a house with chairs and tables . I would literally go to San Antonio just to eat here, that's how much I love this place e.
I like the concept of this place and it's in a house with cool decor. Parking was a bit rough and the area is a littleeeee sketchy haha. But the service was great, plenty of seating inside, and the menu has a good variety! I got The Missing Link and although the curry was pretty good (def more mild than I like though), the sausage wasn't anything special unfortunately....apparently it was smoked but it seemed more steamed/boiled to me? I just wish it had some char on it. The Thai green salad was solid, but nothing too special. The ube ice cream (not made there) was a good way to end the meal! Overall, a cool concept and I'll always support Asian fusion places, so come give this place a try! If I make it there again, I'd probably try the Brisket Smoke Show to see if the bbq really is anything special!
Service was excellent. Very friendly and explained all the dishes. The restaurant is so cute, from the bright pink outside to the homey feel on the inside. I loved it. The food was impeccable. Thai food is my favorite, and adding bbq to the mix, omg. I was in heaven. The brisket smoke show was just that. A damn smoke show!!! Sooooo FIRE!!! An absolute must. The crispy pork belly was also fire, and the dipping sauces complimented it well. Everything we had we loved. I wish I lived closer and could order all the time. One of the best meals we had.
Finally got around to visiting the acclaimed Curry Boys BBQ. I gotta say it is worth the hype!! This place offers a unique twist on asian fusion bbq. The flavors are robust within the curry and the brisket on their top selling Smoke Show Bowl is as good as any bbq restaurant. We ordered two bowls. The Smoke Show and the Magic Mushroom Bowl. For those seeking a vegetarian option, and coming from someone that typically enjoys some type of protein in their meal; the Magic Mushroom bowl is packed full of flavor. It seems that most of the curry dishes have a touch of spice but nothing that will blow you away. I also ordered the Curry Queso Hot Dog w/ a side of Green Curry Potato on the side to go. Great flavor and snap to the hot dog and the curry queso goes just right on top. That Green Curry Potato is next level. I can say that I appreciate the service from the point of them taking the time to elaborate on menu items prior to ordering and just the attention we received after our food was brought to us. The vibe of the restaurant is homely but with some fun accents. I'm looking forward to returning and trying other menu items.
Curry boys is easily one of my favorite spots in San Antonio! Everytime I bring a new person, they love it and keep coming back. For parking, there are a few spots in front if you're lucky but I usually have no issues finding street parking. The inside is casual, you order upfront, seat yourself, and they will bring your food to you. Service is great! The brisket smoke show is my go-to order. The brisket melts in your mouth and is perfectly paired with the rice and curry. The curry does have a kick to it and as someone with a low spice tolerance, I still eat it cause it's that good. The curry chips and queso and tony porker are also great options. I've also done takeout a few times and the food tastes just as good later on! Dessert wise, their ube cheesecake is so yummy and creamy! They also carry ice cream from DORP (the best Asian flavors) which is another favorite of mine, most recently I had the ube and lychee strawberry flavors here and it was delicious! 10/10 recommend coming here!
Two big thumbs up from me, got the pork belly paradise would destroy it again. Sweet thin curry, juicy tender pork belly, and chilli crisp on the side to get it nice and heated.
What a fantastic spot! I did not know this place existed but I was told about it by a patron at another restaurant and I am so glad they did! We stopped in to the super cute Pink house and were warmly greeted. The menu is great with lots of appealing options to choose from. We went with the Beef Brisket Smoke Show Bowl and the Tom Kha Soup as well as the pork belly PBJ. The Pork Belly and Brisket were excellent and I would put them in the same league as some of the best BBQ offerings in the state. Great smoke flavor, well seasoned, and quite tender. The curry just puts it over the top, tell them you want extra curry! It sets off the flavors of the meat and cuts through the richness. If you are in a mood to see how great BBQ can marry to other cuisines you need to get in here. Highly recommended.
Awesome curry house with exciting options for sandwiches, rice bowls, drinks and more! Their staff is extremely helpful with the menu and friendly. I came here with my Grandma for a quick fix before my flight back home. We dined inside which has a homey, and inviting ambiance. I had a new mango frozen of theirs which was pleasantly boozy. Grandma enjoyed her chicken Katsu Sammy and I loved the brisket rice bowl. The meat was extremely tender, juicy, a phenomenal savory flavor. Their rice bowl could have more veggies as I only remember having a couple pieces of potato and carrots with their pickled veg. It was a good amount of food and had light curry flavor. I'd return for sure.
Went early evening on a Saturday to make sure and get the Saturday rib special. They run out early, but we made it in time! I like the casual nature here, but with food that feels much more elevated than a counter order. You just order your drinks (beer and wine too) and food when you walk in and then find a seat. Everything came out pretty quickly. They have a small menu and some interesting flavor combos, but it works! I will say the portions weren't huge, but neither were the prices. Just go with someone else and share a few things! I would definitely go back and try some different items next time.
I'll start by saying that the service is amazing! There was a line when we arrived, and the lady at the register was super nice and kept checking on us in line. it was my first time, so she helped answer any questions I had and recommended some of the new items for us to try. I ended up getting the chicken curry bowl and it was very tasty, but milder than I expected. The sake frozen drink was sweet but good.

Stopped here before a show at Paper Tiger. I didn't really know what to expect going in, the food was so dang good! Husband got their signature Brisket bowl and o got the pork belly. Came out super quick and filling without being too heavy. Definitely planning on stopping here again! read more

I'm always a little scared when trying Asian fusion foods, but this place understood the assignment! I got the brisket smoke show, and the tender brisket paired really well with the green curry. The rice was soft, and all the flavors just melted in your mouth. I do wish that the curry was a little thicker, as the curry felt closer to a broth than the Thai curries I've had before. The service was great and the workers were really helpful in helping me decide what to get. You get to sit wherever you want and you just leave your dishes at the table. Restaurant was decorated in such a homey way. Good bbq and good flavors! read more

I got the San Japan special, which was Japanese curry. The food tasted really good. There was a lot of flavor. It wasn't the best curry ever, but I still really enjoyed my meal. Their nachos (on the house) was good too, and I really liked their sauce. Service was good. The decor was really cute and I loved how they have a lot of plants decorating the place. Ran it back at Curry Boys BBQ in San Antonio. I tried this place when I used to go to college here like 3 or 4 years ago. This place is very unique since they combine both Thai food and bbq. They now have their own brick and mortar location. Parking sucks but there is street parking available in the area. The brisket smoke show is their most popular curry bbq bowl but I already tried it in the past so I got the missing link instead. It includes combines kiolbassa sausage and Penang curry. It also comes with jasmine rice, potatoes, carrots, cilantro, and fried shallots. You also have the option to sub the rice for egg noodles. I also added some crispy chili oil as well. The sausage was so smoky and the curry was very flavorful. They do fusion right here. I also got to try a bit of pulled pork nachos. It was topped with curry queso and honey sriracha. Pulled pork was also very smoky. One of my favorite gems in San Antonio and I'm glad to see that they're doing well read more
Perfect amount of spice. It brings a twist on Japanese Asian style curry with BBQ. I loved it, and will be back any time I am in town. Service was friendly and gave good recommendations having it be our first time. Place was small, but the AC was perfect with the scorching weather. Also the Mango sake drink was delicious. read more
In the party district, SA knows as St. Mary's Street, sits Curry Boys BBQ. The pink house stands out among the numerous food trucks and bars within the surrounding neighborhood. The indoor dining has a relaxed vibe and is perfect for small gatherings to catch up. There is also an outdoor area but since it was over 100d tonight, the only hot things I was interested in was my food. Since this is basically a converted house to a restaurant, parking is very limited to maybe 6 vehicles. There is a paid parking lot across the street, just in case it is full. Me and wifey started with the Thai Green Salad and it was delicious. Lots of flavors and some crunchy things in the bowl made it worth the try. We shared the recommended favorite, The Brisket Smoke Show and added the Good Luck Cluck for our entrees. Although you only get about 4oz of protein with the bowl, the brisket was very flavorful and left me wanting a bit more. The chicken was a little bland but the yellow curry spice made up for it in a big way. Both bowls had plenty of rice and enough curry taste to satisfy us. When you order your meal at the front door, the help is friendly and helpful on making recommendations which we appreciated. I think there is also a Stone Oak location, but when we passed by, it seemed to be less busy. Not sure this same concept works in a strip mall where it is located. Of course, we were looking for some better atmosphere, thus the drive downtown to St. Mary's Street. read more

Texas Asian fusion has become one of my favorite cuisines and I loved this spot so much. My husband and I shared: - Brisket Smoke Show Bowl - The Tony Porker Bowl - Green Curry Potato Salad - Curry Creamed Corn - Ube Cheesecake I loved everything we got. I don't think you can go wrong here. Texas BBQ makes the perfect addition to Thai curry flavors. 10/10, highly recommend. read more

The service was great. It was quiet inside in the middle of a weekday. When I entered, the first thing I noticed was the sharp scent of liquid smoke. The food is underwhelming. The brisket was good but it wasn't special. The veggies tasted heavily like butter. I got two carrots and one piece of potato. Normally I eat curry for the combination of the sauce and veggies. I feel maybe that's why I was so disappointed. This is nothing like traditional curry. Add to this, it wasn't spicy. Also, traditional rice is served on the side. I believe that rice is added to the bowl to make the portion look bigger. I didn't eat all the rice, but there just wasn't a lot of sauce inside the bowl. The rice wasn't the right consistency either. It was too soft. read more

Initially I wasn't sure what to think about mixing BBQ with curry, but I was quickly won over! We are in Texas, so naturally I had to try the brisket. It is served over green curry, which also happens to be my favorite! The brisket is served on top of the curry bowl, so I first tried just the meat. It was fall apart tender, perfectly moist, and full of flavor! I would pick their brisket over most other BBQ joints in a heartbeat! Next up was the curry by itself. It was also delicious and filled with potatoes and carrots! I am used to green curry being pretty spicy, but this is definitely a milder green curry. When I mixed the brisket in it was the perfect combination! The smokey meat blended with the curry spices was a delight to the palette, and it was just the right amount of food for a big and hungry guy like me! I can't wait to go back to try some of the other dishes! Great food! Fair and reasonable price! Friendly service! Definitely worth checking out! read more
Why 5 stars? Because the uniqueness might be worth 5-stars alone. --- --- --- Thai. BBQ. Tex-Mex. Three of my favorite things in life - all under one roof. I couldn't resist ordering the brisket smoke show and was not disappointed. High quality brisket. High quality all of the other things. My wife ordered the nachos and I heavily snacked off of those two. There was some kind of spicy sauce that we got on the side because we are wusses, but it was not too spicy at all and actually added a lot to the overall flavor. And we got a curry dog for my son, which again, I also enjoyed myself a bit. This place, and this neighborhood, reminded me of Seminole Heights in Tampa - a place I lived for years that is near and dear to my heart. I'm glad we stopped here before we ended our San Antonio adventure. read more

I hate to do this, since I have given them rave reviews, but this time, the food was just mediocre. Always friendly service and parking was easily accessible. I ordered my usual Brisket smokeshow with noodles instead of rice and added chili oil flakes. Also, ordered the herb pickled cucumber slaw as a side. Very disappointed- the noodles looked dry and almost undercooked. The brisket lie next to the noodles and there was hardly any curry broth!! So sad. I went up to the counter to let them know, she apologized and brought it back to the kitchen to douse my meal with curry. My friend who ordered the same thing, but with the original rice... her dish had a scant amount as well and her rice was completely dry. The pickled cucumber slaw was underwhelming as well, it needed something. Very bland. Don't think I'll order that again. Hopefully, all was just a glitch and things go back to the way they were .... read more

Honestly.... Not super impressed. I love love love the concept of curry and BBQ but this was not it. The way I would describe this to friends is a bbq restaurant that has curry, not a BBQ curry fusion. We got the Tony porker and the missing link bowls to try. The meats on their own were good and the curry on its own( minus the carrots) were good but the combination of the two did nothing for me. It felt like they literally just threw some barbecued meat into a bowl of curry and called that a win. I hated HATED the baby carrots in the curry, usually like carrots in my curry but these tasted like microwaved frozen carrots that were haphazardly thrown into curry to try to tie the curry and bbq concept together. (Side note, the rice was a bit hard and cold. I'm unsure if that was intentional or not because when you mixed it with the curry the rice was the perfect texture and absorbed the flavor well). I seriously regret not trying the rib special that they had. A table next to us got it and it looked amazing. While the food is decent, the interior is so cute. I loved the bright pink interior, all of the plants and their names, the fireplace with a vintage tv in it playing some older movies. It seriously gives off such cozy vibes and I enjoyed every minute I spent in there. The other nice thing about this place is that they have designated parking spots for customers so you don't have to do street parking. Final notes, the price to amount of food given ratio was really worth it and I will definitely come back and give this place another shot. read more

Would give 6 stars for service. Cashier Lexii and Manager Anastasia made my experience. Lexii immediately caught my eye with her warmth and unique style; employees who put effort and intention into how they present themselves is an overlooked green flag in the service industry. I ordered the Tom Kha soup special and Anastasia informed me they were out of fresh limes to serve with; I was hesitant but followed through with my choice because it sounded delicious anyway. She later informed me she took care of it and sent me home with additional menu items to try. Overall great experience on top of a unique, whimsical and complex (without pretentiousness) menu. We came to Curry Boys BBQ for dinner on Friday night. There is very little parking at the actual building, but there's a paid parking lot across the street (~$10). The restaurant is a lovely small space. We ordered at the walk up counter. The menu is not overwhelmingly extensive, which is good! We placed our order and going a place to sit. We ordered the Smoke Show and Good Luck Cluck. Both bowl were full of perfectly cooked rice, curry, and cilantro. The brisket was juicy and flavorful. The smoked chicken was smokey and delicious. The curry was like a nice warm hug. Just a perfect cozy meal. Definitely coming back for more. read more
Excellent choice!!! This was my 1st time here. It was highly recommended by my cousin. We had an excellent dinner. We tried the brisket & chicken curry dishes, mushroom dish, potato salad, & edamame. Everything was absolutely delicious! We finished everything. We had a great time. Parking may be a bit difficult. You may have to park in the neighborhood. There was little to no way wait. There is more sesting near the restrooms. We will definitely be back. read more

Curry Boys BBQ is definitely a unique must try in San Antonio! I have visited this location twice and the food always comes out very fast, service is always good. We got the main popular items on the menu: *Brisket Smoke Show: This is a green curry and is pretty light. The curry has a lighter flavor. *Good Luck Cluck: This is a yellow curry and has a stronger Thai flavor but does get a little heavy as you eat it. *Curry Queso + Chips: This was also interesting but a bit heavy too. Definitely worth a try, it tastes exactly like it sounds. My only complaint here is the limited parking in front of the restaurant. If street parking is full, there is a paid parking lot across the street. read more
