We really enjoyed our lunch here. We tried the brisket, turkey and the jalapeño sausage and all of it was cooked perfectly. The seasoning on the brisket was delicious and I couldn't believe how well it melted in your mouth. The turkey was a nice surprise with a cracked pepper type crust on the edge, I really loved it and the turkey was so moist. I've honestly never had turkey cooked that perfectly before. The jalapeño sausage was great flavor wise but we thought the outside skin was kinda tough and had to spit out so large gristle pieces but it's a sausage so kinda expected. The potato salad was super yummy- more mustard based than sweet which I personally prefer. The green beans were a hit for me. They were smokey, salty and honestly my favorite way to have green beans from now on. Mac and cheese was okay, very heavy on the cheese which was a bit much for my tastes but the way most would prefer their Mac and cheese. Their two sauces were both equally delicious. One was more vinegar based and the other was a perfectly balance with sweet at the forefront and spicy in the end. I'm not a huge BBQ connoisseur so take my review with a grain of salt but it was really good and I'd come back here in a heartbeat. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of service. They were nice but the family in front of us was there for their first time as well and they offered for them to try all the meats and try some sides before they ordered and we weren't offered the same courtesy even though it was also our first time. We weren't even talked through the menu like they were or asked what we liked so we went in blindly but thankfully it worked out.
Oh glad to be in the area and stumbled upon this gem! Was craving for some bbq and this place hit the spot. Located in Helotes off Bandera Road and Floore Drive. They have their own lot to park and can imagine on busy days it gets packed. There's a nice outdoor seating area with a stage and playground. Right upon entry I was warmly greeted by Gunnar and presented with their Big A*$ Beef Rib option. It runs $35/lb and comes out to about $45. It was definitely enormous and did not disappoint as it was very tasty and tender. The bark was flavorful and buttery. The bbq sauce was just an addition but could have done without as well. I opted for both the jalapeño cream corn and Mac n cheese, which both were delicious! Definitely will be back again. Enjoy!
First time trying this food truck - they were by my work building. I ordered the 2 meat plate and I got brisket and sausage; sides were creamy corn and mac and cheese. The bbq dip was okay - not my fave, but all the food was great! Service was super fast so it was great since I came during my lunch time.
The food was absolutely mouthwatering. Everything was perfect, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. They made it fresh in front of you if you were getting tacos or the grilled cheese sandwiches. All of the meat was just amazing and that someone who's from the south the barbecue was perfect. They were super well priced. I now live outside of DC and the price is for the barbecue that we got were amazing. People are gonna say they're expensive but honest to God they are great priced with amazing food. The service was unbelievable. Everyone at the counter was so nice so sweet had manners. They gave you a good rundown of questions about foods if you had all allergies and we're able to be accommodating with those allergies and help you find food that you could eat. They've delivered the food to the table and they were just overall welcoming and kind. The ambience of the place was awesome. They had great indoor seating options so that you could stay in the AC while you enjoyed their great food. The kids had options to go play on the playground that they have in the back or you could sit outside and eat in the back. They have deck seating, which was pretty cool to see as well. They give you the option of buying the seasonings they use in the cookbook which I bought both. They have options of soda water beer, which I thought was pretty cool. I will definitely come back to this place when I come back to Texas.
This was our first time coming out to B-Daddy's BBQ to try. I will say the young fellas working should take more time to explain the process, and give more time to order. When I walked up, they immediately asked what I wanted, and as I was trying to order the 2 meat option another person down the line was already asking what sides, and they sent me down the line, but I had more food to order. It was a confusing experience, and I ended up not ordering items I wanted to try because they started asking people behind me for their order already and I felt it would be rude to order more food while they were already moved on. They were out of a lot of food I tried ordering, which also made the process difficult because I had to retrace back to the menu. The spud we ordered was very old, and the cheese was very cold. So, the butter didn't melt into the potato nor did the cheese, and that was disappointing. The floors weren't very clean, and the restroom wasn't clean at all. The ice was melted where they kept the beer and drinks, and it was just water. Their Mac n cheese was creamy, and the cream corn was very good. The beans tasted sour, I even traded them for another Mac n cheese because they did not taste right at all. The turkey was dry, and the pulled pork was dry. The brisket was very flavorful and tender. The ribs were dry. The bbq sauce tasted too much like tomatoes, it was almost like a pizza sauce. Their high chair was broken, and they only had one. I am still looking for a really good BBQ experience.

We love this spot!! Found it by chance but love the food, it's one of our top bbq spots. Good play area for kids outside, and plenty of seating inside. Food comes out quick and delicious every time.
A hidden gem of a BBQ place located near Old Town Helotes! B-Daddy's is a step above a lot of BBQ places in that it's handicap friendly with a lot of pleasant indoor and outdoor seating, so the ambiance is something better than 'falling down shack'. Service was on point when I visited, fast and friendly. The BBQ is excellent all around - loved the mixed lean and fatty brisket, spare ribs, pulled pork, and the standout was the smoked turkey - peppery and very juicy. Among the sides, the borracho beans were some of the best I've had. B-Daddy's wasn't too busy on a weekday lunch hour, though I hear it gets packed on weekends and dinnertime. Given the quality of the BBQ, it's understandable. This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.
Good brisket, terrible service. I ordered a banana pudding, cream corn, and birria tacos. They said it would take a while for the tacos, so I got my buzzer and waited. It took 20-25 minutes before I noticed that the party of 4 that came before already got their birria tacos. My buzzer still hadn't gone off. And no one came to check on us even though they had like 6 people and there were only a couple customers seated. I noticed the boys were just standing around not even near the grill, so I got up to check and the grill was empty. I showed my buzzer and asked when the tacos would be ready. They said 5 minutes. Funny, because earlier they said it would take a while and now it's only 5 minutes. At the end, the brisket was not worth the wait. Good, but not worth it. You're better off just getting brisket at Buc-ee's for a quick bite.
If you're looking this place up and wondering about going, let me just say: IT'S WORTH IT. I grew up in Texas and now live in Vegas, and every time we visit (a few times a year), I have to hunt down good barbecue to get my brisket fix, and several places have disappointed me over the years. This place was a solid hour round trip with a toddler in the car, and it was worth it. We will likely be coming back here next time. GPS will take you to a building that has a physical therapists office, but it's actually the white building around back with the wrap around porch. Enter and browse the menu - we got a pound of brisket (marbled), a pound of smoked turkey, medium sides of mac and cheese and borracho beans, plus a link each of the regular and jalapeno sausage. Meats are cut and weighed in front of you, trays include white bread. Pickles, onions, jalapenos, and sauces are by the drink station, be sure to get a sweet tea. They have combos, including a family pack available, as well as sandwiches (including a brisket grilled cheese!) - the platter I made was about $70 and good for three hungry adults to share with a little bit of everything left over to take home. The brisket really hit the spot for me and the perfect texture and flavor, it didn't even need sauce. The turkey was also great - peppery skin, very juicy. The mac and cheese was indulgent and the beans were slow cooked and delicious, they were the only thing my daughter really ate. The location has a little bit of indoor seating and then a lot of outdoor tables - some covered, some not, lots of room for kids to run around in the fenced area in back. Service was friendly and we really enjoyed our meal. They weren't too busy on a weekday over spring break, seems like a good spot for groups and families. I plan to try their chicken, ribs and jalapeno cream corn next time.
When in Texas they say BBQ Is a must! Food wise this place had the brisket, ribs and sausage down. The brisket was soft and tender as it should, ribs were perfect seasoning of sweet and smoky, the cheddar jalapeño sausage. There isn't much service to give here because it's an order here and they serve you before you sit. The people at the register were kind and very polite. My only reason for the 3- star rating is because the place is a little run down, the outdoor eating was not great and the place over all could use some TLC.
Barbecue is big business in Texas and be daddy's. Does it pretty well decent size dining room really good meats and decent selection of beers service was immediate since I came in pretty early and the ambience is what you expect from a barbecue joint dark wood and big open dining area.
The food is very good, nice kids working, country music playing. Different options to drink. BBQ sauce on tap Server your own jalapeños, onions and pickles. A choice between a tangy and sweet bbq sauce on table- they give 2 pieces of bread as well The 2 meat plate, 2 sides came out to $24.97 All together the meat was cooked well and marbled right. Definitely some phenomenal Texas barbecue here! In a cool town. I got brisket, and smoked turkey. The smoked turkey was very moist. Rub on it was definitely spicy and maybe a little too salty. But it was still phenomenal. The brisket, as expected in Texas was great. Sauces were really good. I enjoyed the law a lot also You ordered at the counter, and service was really good. While visiting San Antonio, we hopped over to Helotes to grab some barbecue! Walking in, you order at the counter and then get a buzzer to grab your food when it's ready. There was some inside seating, and lots of outside seating which unfortunately we did not use due to the weather. We stopped by a shop in Helotes before we grabbed lunch here, and we were recommended to get the mac daddy sandwich. It did not disappoint! A good portion of brisket, crispy melted cheddar, creamy mac n cheese, covered in a sweet and tangy barbecue drizzle and in between crispy buttered texas toast slices... heaven. We also got the brisket tacos which were made with corn tortillas that were warmed on the flat top with crusty cheese and then stuffed with the delicious brisket. I do wish it had some sort of salsa or acidity to balance out the richness. We also go some brisket slices to eat on their own, which were fatty, flavorful, and had a nice little smoke ring. Overall this was a lovely spot to grab some Texas bbq. Good spot in Helotes for BBQ. Set up like a lot of barbecue places, you order at the counter and then take it to your table. Plenty of accompaniments and sauces to grab. Good sweet tea in large Styrofoam cups. The meats were delicious and the sides were great too. I went for lunch and the two meat plate was more than I could eat. They have a big outdoor area as well for sitting and for the kids to run around. Good spot. read more

Wanted BBQ today but did not want franchise food and we remembered this hidden gem. The brisket is juicy and tender, and better than anything we've had locally, the pork ribs are OMG good! Price is on par with any other place, but quality is way above anything else. read more

First time here and definitely wasn't disappointed! When we walked in it reminded us of an old saloon. We ordered two separate meals. I got the pulled pork sandwich with chips and sweet tea. It was very yummy and had a good portion of meat. My husband got the brisket, pulled pork, and sausage with a side of mac and cheese with a side of jalapeno cream corn and some bread. The meats, as well as the sides were delicious. It was well worth the drive. read more
So came for our sons bday. Not packed at all. 3 of us got the Bria tacos, mine took the longest for some reason but was too soggy to the point I couldn't pick them up to dip in the sauce so I literally ate them with a fork. They were good though and had lots of meat. My MIL got the sausage and she literally said it was gross, my son didn't like it either. Two ppl also had cold Mac n chz. We had to move tables bc there were so many flies by the window table smh. Personally would not eat here again. read more

Despite not having been here in awhile, this place still ranks high in the best BBQ on our list! Brisket was juicy, tender, and with a bit of fat and crackle on the outside for full flavor. We tried the spicy sausage this time- a mixture of beef and pork and with hatch green chile for a kick- deeeeelish! What makes a good BBQ is not only the smoked tasty meats like, but the sides. I have to say all that we have ordered, have shined. The green beans are fab with bits of bacon and fried onions, the Mac n' cheese are no doubt super cheesy, not runny, the potato salad was tasty, not bland, and the borracho beans were def drunk with beer : D Plenty of seating and friendly service to top it off. We've had B-Daddy's before when their truck came to our neighborhood, but decided to visit their restaurant in Helotes. It was lunchtime on a Friday and they had a full house, but the line moved really quick. My husband and I both got the 3-Meat Plate. Between the two of us, we had ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken, Mac and cheese, cream corn, and potato salad. The meats were tender and the Mac and cheese was pretty good as well. My husband thought the chicken was too smoky but I kinda liked that about it. Overall, a pretty solid bbq spot if you're on the NW or W side of town. Can't say that rivals any other bbq place downtown or in Austin, but it's good bbq. read more

The Ribs had a funny smell, the boracho beans were too spicy and the banana pudding tasted like whip cream had been added. The banana pudding did not taste like made-at-home with real milk, it to tasted funny. The potato salad tasted as if it was thrown together, the potatoes were quite chunky, maybe that's the normal way it is made. The marble beef brisket was superb as was the mac and cheese. The chopped brisket sandwich was very tasty but cold and the sweet Bar-B-Q sauce made the sandwich taste very good. I am a food connoisseur, I love great food and my reviews are precise. The restaurant was very nice and nostalgic, disable parking was available, there was also a ramp, alleviating climbing the stairs and I loved the beer tub inside of the testaurant! The staff was friendly and very helpful in assisting the choices of our menu items. Overall, my meal were ok. read more

This was my first time supporting this restaurant and I ordered dinner for my family for pick up last night and was pretty disappointed in a couple of things. First of all pricing on yelp is incorrect. I ordered 2 orders of the favorite which shows it's $75.00 but when I arrived it was $120.00. Second when I got home I realized there were no onions, pickles, bbq sauce or bread with the order. Apparently after speaking to the supervisor today you are supposed to get them yourself as if you were dining at the restaurant. There was no mention of this to me. Also for spending $300 dollars in this restaurant I would think those items would be automatically provided. Sadly all she said was sorry that no one told you. The food was decent enough but the service is definitely lacking. I would not recommend ordering take out from this restaurant nor will I be returning myself. I had family visiting from out of state and they were looking forward to great bbq. This wasn't it read more

This place is awesome! Great food and great atmosphere, best advice look at the board before you step to the counter they love you through fast and seem to be busy but quick. Parking is easy and spacious. The food is on point, I grabbed the 2 plate with brisket and ribs. I was not disappointed the rest of your team got various things and everyone loved what they got. We will definitely be coming back next time we fly into San Antonio. read more
