Brisket, chicken, potato salad & green beans

Came to Smokey Mo's for the first time last week.. I was very surprised at how great the food is.. came again the following week. Moist brisket, juicy chicken, tasty sausage and generous servings. My new go to place for BBQ.

Food was good until i opened up my chicken. Biggest complaint my gallon sweet tea had salt instead of sugar!! Like, how you do that at a restaurant. I had to go drink from the jug to make sure I wasn't going crazy. I was so ready for some sweet tea.

Beef brisket, turkey, chicken plate. Sides coleslaw, green beans and red potatoes. Good neighborhood straightforward bbq joint. Service was quick. Clean tables and counters. Recommended!

Great value and good food! I'm definitely trying the breakfast next time! Thank you!!

Potato salad, Mac and cheese, sausage, and brisket. More brisket than it looks in the pic!

Trying Smokey Mo's BBQ was long overdue for my boyfriend and I. So when I was craving bbq, we went through the drive-thru for some takeout. Both the service and food were quite impressive! We both got the 2 Meat Plate (comes with 3 meats, 2 sides, sauce, and 2 slices of bread). I got brisket, jalapeño sausage, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. My boyfriend got brisket, pork loin, Mac and cheese, and beans. We also got a chocolate chip cookie. The sausage and pork loin were both really good. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, and the brisket was flavorful too. I like my brisket more moist (like Rudy's) but my boyfriend liked Smokey Mo's brisket better. Either way, it was good. And the chocolate chip cookie? Amazing. Everything was so good! The girl who took our order was extremely nice and fast. We were surprised that they didn't skimp on the quantity either. Will definitely be back :)

This restaurant has a beautiful interior and clean with kind and helpful staff that made great recommendations since it was our first time here. I had the 3 meat plate with brisket, turkey, and chopped. My sides were potato salad and baked beans. The brisket and chopped were delicious. The turkey i wasn't impressed with at all if possible just skip it nothing special or tasty. The potato salad was about average but the beans were great. Served with this meal is 2 slices of white bread. The bbq sauce on each table was delicious had a little spice to it but one of the best bbq sauces iv had. To make this place truly amazing i wish we had a buttered dinner roll instead of white bread. Also make the turkey better.

Tastes like leftover reheated mediocre bbq. Watered down sides with very mild smoke flavor on their meats.

For a starter we shared the cornbread with another couple and it was plenty for 4 people. If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. We had the buttermilk pie again for dessert and this time it tasted sweeter than I remembered. It was good but we couldn't finish it. Idk if it was my tastebuds or if it was different. Anyways still a great meal overall and we will be back!

Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.

We were right on the river walk, but walked through the entire restaurant on our way to be seated and every bit of it is as lovely as where we ended up sitting. The Riverwalk, however, is a people watching place and so there really isn't any place in this particular restaurant which is not gonna be pleasant. Secondly, the service is exceptional. This is a very busy place. However, the waiter was simply incredible. Very attentive, very informative quite humorous. He was frankly part of the river walk entertainment. Extremely accommodating and instructive as well. You can't hope for much more from a server in Restaurant than this activity. The food is really quite good. How are the drinks. Extremely dependable and the portions are generous and equally wonderful. There are many places to dine in San Antonio. However, this is an experience not to be missed and I mean that quite sincerely. Kudos for a very, very well run well situated and well managed enjoyable place to dine on the river walk in San Antonio.

The soup never arrived, but we didn't say anything because the prime rib with fries and veg looked like plenty of food for us. The prime rib was flavorful, and was a big portion which was expected for the $48 price tag. Veg was mid and I wasn't wowed by the seasoning on the shoestring fries. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the lime chess pie. In general, I adore chess pies but the lime flavor just didn't pair well with the custard filling.

Favorite item was the Alamo huevos rancheros. This was a rare treat to enjoy a dish with brisket, cheese, and salsa without some kind of heartburn afterwards. But this was lighter than expected and tasted amazing! Other dishes we tried: Egg white frittata: very good and a nice touch that it is served in a skillet! Texas waffle: was one of the best waffles either of us has had in a long time Blueberry pancakes: very good. I really enjoyed the stewed blueberry Chilaquiles: this we felt was the only miss. Didn't like that it was prepared with tortilla chips instead of fried tortillas Steak and eggs: ask for extra chimichurri sauce and maybe add some extra salt. Once you do that, this dish is fantastic Avocado toast: this definitely needs smoked salmon or other protein. Otherwise it isn't very substantial. I had it with smoked salmon and it really hit the spot. The service was polite and attentive. We're excited to return for our next visit

I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.
