After reading many great reviews of Garcia Barbecue, I decided to give them a shot for lunch. I got the three meat plate with sausage,1/4 pound of brisket($2.00 extra) and ribs($1.50 extra). I got a side of Jalapeño rice and mac & cheese. The ribs had good flavor and were very good. I wish they were fall off the bone tender. They were not tough just not super tender like I like it. The brisket and sausage are good not great. The brisket could have been more tender in my opinion. The sausage was nothing special. The jalapeño rice was very tasty and the Mac & cheese was very good as well. It was very cheesy and I liked that. The bbq joint was decorated nicely and the staff were very friendly. It's a good place for bbq if you're in the area. I would recommend a few other bbq places in San Antonio that are very good: 1) 2M Smokehouse has amazing bbq. It's the place to beat in San Antonio. It's worth the trip to the south side of town. 2) Pinkerton's BBQ is downtown and has really good food. Definitely try them out when you're downtown.
BBQ is definitely on point and tasty. A great spot in a centralized location for when you're craving some good Texas BBQ. The brisket is tasty and the sides were banging. Would definitely be back son.
I was excited to try this place since they won an award. Nothing really exciting. No bbq pits and not even a smell of bbq. I ordered the bbq ribs, coleslaw and a side of fries. You order at the counter, the service is fast and they are nice. Just the food nothing truly that stands out and makes it worth talking about. It wasn't bad neither... just ok A good place for a quick meal still much better than fast food
Everything is always delicious here. Today i ordered the half and half nachos- brisket and pork. And I got my husband the two meat plate with ribs and brisket with double charro beans. Mm mm mm! Service is always with a smile and the ambiance is relaxed. We love it here! Thanks, Garcia!
Brisket was moist and ribs had the perfect amount of pepper. Charro beans had chunks of sausage which elevated the flavor. You order at the counter but the waitress was great and checked on us a couple times after we got our food. Def best bbq spot in this area. Limited seating and got super busy when we were leaving but they do have a drive thru.
I ordered the 2 meat plate with Brisket and sausage along with the cream corn and Charro beans. Everything was delicious. The Brisket was very flavorful, tender and that was a thick slice of Brisket. The sausage and sides were very good. The beans had a bit of a jalapeño kick to it. I look forward to coming back
For a fast casual barbecue restaurant, this place is pretty good. I would suggest getting there earlier in the day since the premium meats sell out fast. I ended up ordering the 2 meat plate with turkey, sausage, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. This was decent food and I would come back for lunch and dinner.
Now this is interesting. Last time we were at this location this was a totally different restaurant. I know from last experience well over a year ago we were not pleased. Here we are again except it's a BBQ place! How the heck did we miss this?!!!! Very casual restaurant, you walk up to the counter to place your order & then your food is taken to your table. The cashier shares her knowledge & provided some suggestions. After seeing all the food photos, wanted 1 of everything. Now I know how I gained all this weight! Yes, we love our beef! We had the brisket nachos, which were absolutely amazing, could easily feed 2 people. The cheeseburger, fresh, juicy & hot. These memories have helped me decide what's for lunch, today! The 3 meat plate, again, brisket, sausage & ribs, amazingly fresh. All the meats were wet, & not dry. Potato salad was a bit too thin & wet. Overall nice to know we finally have decent BBQ near us. The only complaint was we ordered way too much food for 2 people!
Place is clean,restroom also clean. Promptly serve and food smells good. Attendant pleasant with a smile. My sandwich with fries really good. I recommend this place definitely!!personally I would it like bbq sauce because it's a bbq place. I got a small ketchup packet for the fries no bbq sauce for the sandwich so I can't give 5 stars. I'm taking one star off!!because of his answer to my question about offering bbq sauce he said it just doesn't need bbq sauce to me sounds like I don't care if the customer likes bbq sauce with the sandwich just eat it dry without sauce. I change my opinion about the food service to 3 stars because the place is clean and the the order was served promptly. I won't go again or take any of friends and family
This place had caught my attention while driving down Huebner. After seeing such great reviews, I had to check it out. I stopped by for lunch and the place was quite packed. I placed my to go order at the counter and took a seat to wait for my food. The layout of the restaurant was pretty much the same as Pollo Project, with plenty of seating. The food was brought out rather quickly. I went with the 2 meat plate, with brisket and sausage. My two sides were creamed corn and charro beans. The plate also included two slices of bread, pickles, onions, and BBQ sauce. The brisket was really tender and the sausage had a nice flavor. I preferred the beans to the creamed corn, but both were pretty tasty. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. I hope this place has better luck than the previous restaurants that occupied the same space!
Food is great, the meat is moist and tasty. Nice atmosphere. Super friendly staff . I will continue to eat here, it is hard to find spots like this.
First time coming here. A little off the beaten path but found it. Ordered the 2 meat combo. Brisket and sausage. Came with 2 sides but didn't get to try their charro beans since it wasn't available. Had the Mac and cheese and potato salad. Brisket was bomb. Sausage not so much. Mac was cheesy and the potato salad was on point. Over all a good meal. I'd recommend. Better off all their sides were available.
Okay now Garcia's bbq , while visiting San Antonio I wanted some good authentic bbq. Garcia's bbq was one the restaurants that came up on my list . It's a foodtruck I love food trucks . Located next to a lounge that offers indoor and outdoor seating . The ambiance of the whole place is relaxing and fun . I wanted the full experience and I wanted to try a little bit of everything so I ended up getting the sliders which contained one brisket slider , one sausage and one pork. The service was great they were friendly and the food didn't take long to come out. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. AMAZING. Everything was amazing the food came with a side of chips and a drink . But I wanted to try the whole menu but I was being greedy . Please don't walk to this restaurant you need to run here because it's so good . I told all my Texan friends to please go to this restaurant because when I come back to San Antonio I want it to be open . I will definitely be back

Stopped by Garcia Barbecue on a Friday afternoon after a visit to the San Antonio Aquarium. It was a nice break from the heat--plenty of indoor seating and a chill vibe, which made it perfect for our group of six. We tried the nachos and a few sandwiches, and everything was really solid. The chopped brisket sandwich was my top pick--super moist brisket with just the right texture and flavor for a great BBQ bite. Their potato salad was good too--smooth, creamy, and way better than most. The BBQ sauce deserves a shoutout--smoky with a little sweetness, and it worked perfectly with everything we tried. If you're in the area and looking for some good BBQ and a cool place to relax, definitely check this place out. Super friendly service too! read more
Solid casual bbq joint in SA with friendly service for the price! Brisket flavor was good but I prefer thicker cuts. Garlic aioli smashburger was a little too greasy for me but my brother loved it. Loved the food truck, but the standalone restaurant is even better! The brisket is amazing, along with the Mac and cheese, French fries, and charro beans. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a great BBQ spot. I love supporting fellow veterans. read more
The first time my husband and I tried @garciabarbecue was when they were at a Northside food truck park and it was good. Jonathan reached out last week to invite us to come out. Now they're located @mcintyressouthtown from Sundays through Tuesdays and every other Saturday. @mcintyressouthtown is a Houston-based concept which is 21 and up sports bar with many TVs to enjoy games with both indoor and outdoor seating. @garciabarbecue is a Veteran-owned business. Jonathan served in the United States Marines Corps and is a USAA member. Thank you for your service! Dad and I shared the Chopped Brisket Sliders. My husband had the El Mero Mero sandwich. The picture doesn't do it justice because the sandwich is huge! The Smoked Queso Nachos is the bomb! We had chopped brisket and sour cream. Dad couldn't stop eating it. You need to check it out! The drinks @mcintyressouthtown are strong. I had the Lovey Dovey and Hot Eff the Press. My husband had the Hot Eff the Press and Moscow Mule. Dad had cranberry juice. Arion was the bartender who took good care of us. Great experience so come check it out! read more

Delicious and a lot of food. This Daddy Melt lunch special also includes tea in a big cup. Don't be discouraged by the lack of parking in front. Park at the back of the building. There's a back door where you can enter the restaurant. read more

1.Hamburger El Mero Mero was ok but didn't have that wow factor, very dry and no sauce 2.Services was slow not very friendly 3.not much decorations in the restaurant, very plan...the only thing I like was the flags. 4.the food is over priced and the dessert is very small portions. read more
I enjoy supporting small businesses - especially when they produce a great product! Garcia Barbecue does everything right - food quality, food taste, and service! We visited last night at McIntyre's Southtown for their steak night. They didn't disappoint! The ribeye was a little on the thin side, but the taste and quality of the meat more than made up for it. The baked potato and cole slaw were both tasty as well. It was our first time at this location and definitely won't be our last - the TV's were plentiful and they had a great draft beer selection. I appreciate the military discount they offer. read more

Highly recommend this place for some amazing food !!!! I had the Smoked Turkey sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese and my mom also had the Turkey sandwich with a side of potato salad :) and I must say at first sight it looked delicious with a good amount of slices of turkey on a nicely toasted brioche bun, they also have their signature bbq sauce at your table which I love so I can have as little or as much as I want lol first bite I wanted to try with out sauce ooommmg wow I wasn't expecting flavor town in the first bite wow and so juicy , I've been to many bbq spots and I've had some good Turkey sandwiches but never as juicy and tender as this and full of flavor and really didn't need any sauce !!!! Big kudos to the pit masters !!! I can honestly say in my opinion this is the best smoked Turkey sandwich I've had in San Antonio !! Mac and cheese was a creamy goodness with a lot great flavors and potato salad was on point !! We ate here yesterday and I keep talking about the turkey and how I want to go back and get a pound of it to bring home lol read more

Yummmmm is all I have to say! This place was amazing! It was located outside/at McIntyre's on Presa street. The AC while eating was a HUGE plus as was the clean bathroom, because I was definitely in need of a good hand washing station after these nachos. The serving sizes were generous and delicious. The brisket was tender and well chopped. I didn't find a single "fatty" chunk in either the nachos or the sammie and the smoked sausage had great flavor! This was overall a wonderful experience! I will be coming back and bringing friends. read more

I was excited to try this place out finally. Well, the experience was underwhelming. I arrived at 11 am (Opening time) and was second in line. I looked at the menu and already had a bunch of stuff crossed off the menu including mac and cheese. That seemed pretty crazy because they just opened. I ordered my food and smelled no smoke anywhere. This place gave me a Dickey's BBQ vibe before they all closed down in San Antonio. I wanted to like this place. Everyone was super nice and the place was clean. However, the food was what was most important and it was subpar. I ordered the El Jefe sandwich combo which came out to a little over $25. The price was okay considering the portion size. The meat was tender but lacked flavor and smoke The sausage had zero smoke and tasted like it was heated up in an oven. The fries were cooked perfectly but over-salted. Couldn't eat more than a few of the fries due to the amount of salt. The BBQ sauce on the table was almost empty (Again weird considering they just opened). I had to drench the sandwich with lots of sauce, pickles, onions, and jalapenos to get any kind of flavor. A Bill Miller Po boy is what I can compare it to. If you want real Texas BBQ, don't come here because it is nonexistent. You're better off driving a bit further to B Daddy's. Overall disappointing, but at least I tried it. The tea was excellent and the best part of my lunch experience. read more

I was about to try them today but saw no wood or smokestack--nothing to indicate it's true barbecue. I didn't enter. Maybe the wood is inside. Where is the wood?
