We were hungry for lunch and dropping off an Amazon return. Next to the UPS drop-off was the Jersey Mike's subs on Fredericksburg Rd. I ordered online for two subs. It said it was going to be ready in 25 minutes. Since we were right there, I decided to go in and see if they could make my online order and to my surprise and delight, they did! The subs are huge and wonderfully built with lots of ham, turkey and provolone cheese! These subs are way above the grade from Subway sandwiches. The eatery is pretty small but the ambiance was nice. The workers were steadily making subs and the tables were occupied by a lunch crowd. I would come back here and get more of the good stuff! read more

First off sandwich was great the classic Italian can't go wrong but the employee on the slicer on 8/1 around 12:30 was very unprofessional by loudly expressing that everyone coming in for lunch always come in "at the same damn time". Beloved works at a Jersey Mike's so I thought I'd take her recommendations and grab a meal. I've only eaten there once and I think I ordered a sub in a tub (I was likely doing keto). I was in the mood for a cheesesteak and I'm not a fan of spicy so she recommended the Bible Kahuna minus the jalapeños. I decided on that. I order at this jersey mikes often, but this time while ordering I watched a woman scoop up all the left over lettuce and extras that have fallen on the board and counter and put it back in to the lettuce box to use again. So i have been eating at jersey mikes for about 8 years. Previously in Kansas and now this location. I have been to this location several times. The customer service at this location has always below average. The employees do not seem happy to be there nor proud of their product like I have experienced the other locations. Namely the one I ate at for years in Olathe KS. Today's pick up was the worse. I usually overlook the poor bread quality or the missed pickles. But today I opened my sandwhich to turkey and picked and bread that was hard. Crunchy hard. I called and spoke to Daniel and he told me he knows the bread wasn't hard and only bakes it to the companies specifications and can remake. I explained I just want them to fix the problem. I don't want remakes I just want they to take pride. Haven't been here since the last problem with the work sandwiches. We stopped by for lunch. Very busy. Customer service still lacks but could be because its busy. Ordered a mini turkey provolone and had it done Mike's way. It was an okay sandwich but nothing extraordinary. So many places say they have "chicken cheesesteaks" but they are just made with chunks of chicken. When I saw the commercial on tv for the chicken cheesesteaks at jersey mikes I knew I had to check it out. And yes, they tasted as amazing as they looked in the commercial. Fresh warm bread sandwiching chicken and melted cheese (comes with peppers and onions but I wanted it plain). I loved the texture. Another exciting thing is they have different flavors. My boyfriend got the chipotle chicken cheesesteak and said that was amazing too. We did a walk in and ordered our food to go. I love their subs... They cut the meat in front of you so you know it's fresh. They have quite a selection of subs. Customer service at this location is always great and they give us samples of the meat when we're indecisive about trying something new. Prices are fine and they have a point program that rewards you free food. I would definitely try it out if you're not in the mood for the same subway/Quiznos sandwiches and want to try something different. I don't understand the sadness here. I've seen different employees every time and none of them are ever friendly at all. I worked at firehouse subs for 5 years when I was young, visited a few locations since then, and customer service is always above and beyond. What's the deal with this jersey mikes?? Good sandwiches that are made differently. I was surprised at the sandwich makers technique. He basically splashed all the condiments onto the sandwich, but it was good!! It wasn't sloppy, but a change to how a sandwich is made. I had the turkey breast and provolone. It was very tasty and filled me up. I like how most places are now welcoming patrons that walk in. This is the first legit "East Coast" food I've had since moving to San Antonio (I ordered the Jersey Classic). The hoagie roll is perfect - don't ever change it please. Meats are sliced in front of you and assembled on the counter, too. "Mike's Way" tops each hoagie with lettuce, tomato, salt & pepper, onions and a tastebud-popping red wine and vinegar combo with herbs. Menu is extensive and looks awesome, but minus one star for no Cheese Whiz for the cheesesteaks. Every former Philly resident knows you order cheesesteaks one of two ways: Whiz with or Whiz without. Their menu is divided into cold subs and hot subs to make it easier for you to make a selection according to your mood. Went to Jersey Mikes last night. I really like this place. First, they give you a birthday coupon for a free sub. Quality there. The food is good and the people are nice. I got the Big Kahuna last night. I love the jalapenos and mushrooms added to a traditional cheese steak is just delicious. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars was the look of disappointment on the cashiers face about my tip. Really tasty subs! All the ingredients were super fresh. The bread was soft and delicious. I had their #2, which is like an Italian cold-cut combo. It was really good! The lettuce was fresh and crispy, the tomatoes were in their prime. The manager was really friendly and chatted up the customers as they worked through the line. I gotta agree with Scott C on this one though- the employees weren't paying any attention, and I had to repeat my request several times to make sure they got it right. Awesome place for a sub with fresh-cut meats and cheeses, and bread that doesn't taste like it was made in a dishwasher. That last part is actually a reference to Subway, and it doesn't nearly do justice to the bread used here- I didn't find it noteworthy the first time I inhaled a sandwich here, but the second time, when I finally slowed down to appreciate it, the bread struck me as surprisingly delicious, with that perfect crisp exterior and soft, pillowy interior that allows the sandwich fillings to stand on their own. Now, I don't mean to slam Subway for this entire review, but considering prices are just a hair more expensive (like $7 for a regular, which seems about as long as a footlong except like a pound heavier and several inches thicker- and not all vegetable toppings) for an exponentially better sandwich. All of this coming from someone who doesn't even really like sandwiches all that much. The pastrami sandwich is surprisingly delicious with a savory sauerkraut inside- one that works really well both as a sandwich and could stand alone, too. A rarity in SA, IMO. The Italian is fabulous, and each bite tastes slightly different, with varying amounts and proportions of the meats in each bite, and the oil and herbs playing off of the veggies and meat so well. Very skilled sandwich makers. Top notch ingredients. Very friendly staff, and the food is delicious. Best subs anywhere. No complaints, but the only thing I could think of that would make this place better would be if when I order my Giant #7, they would make you a sub with half turkey and half prosciuttini (layered throughout, not half on the left and half on the right) and not charge you for a more expensive club sandwich, as I never get the bacon or mayo.
