Some pretty good sub sandwiches! My fiancé is obsessed with sub sandwiches so we've visited Jimmy John's a number of times to grab him a sandwich. This was our first time at this location and I think it's actually my new favorite. The store is on the smaller side but all of the silly paraphernalia that's in all Jimmy John's stores was there all the same, not to mention the place was exceptionally clean and practically sparkling, restrooms and all. The guy running the register took extra care in making sure our order was correct, the soda machine seemed to have been refilled that morning as our drinks tasted great, the cutlery and drink counter was fully stocked, and our sandwiches came out quickly. We ordered the #8 Billy Club and the #11 Country Club with no Tomato. Though I did not try my fiancé's Billy Club, the speed with which he practically inhaled it said everything I needed to know without him enthusiastically informing me afterwards that it was 5 stars. My Country Club was as delicious as always. Everything was fresh, the meat to veggie ratio was on point, the mayo was fantastic, and the bread itself was incredible, some of my favorite sub sandwich breads to be quite honest. We also split a Triple Chip Cookie and it was really yummy too. It was on the crisper side but still a little chewy, and you could actually taste all three different chocolates in the cookie. Not to mention it was MASSIVE. I will say that if you've been to one Jimmy John's you've tasted them all, but we enjoyed our experience nonetheless. Today I ordered again and I forgot to tip, it was an accident I tried to go back to the site to try and add a tip but there was no way or at least I couldn't find a way. Typical, reliable, no-nonsense Jimmy John's right near the Medical Center. I usually indulge in a #5 Vino when I'm here, and the staff has never made a mistake with my order. Even with one or two people working at the counter, the sandwiches are still true to their "freaky fast" moniker. I will say, it does seem that sometimes they don't have the healthiest work culture. When I was getting to order one night, one staff member yelled at another really brusquely before completely changing his tone with me. I was a bit stunned at first because I thought he was talking to me - I wondered what I had done wrong to make him so irritated. However, work culture aside, there is nothing inherently wrong with the sandwich making. The little shop is quite clean on the daily, and I never have trouble finding seating at evening hours. It got delivered promptly and my sandwich was delicious, and the driver was super nice. Then on Friday I walked over during lunch from work and took my sandwich to go, it was created with great speed and it tasted delicious. And the bread was yummy as always. FAIL, no longer Jimmy John's!! Today was $1 subs for their customer appreciation day. Needless to say, my co-workers and I were dead excited and got there right before the line got too long. The employees outside helping us were nice, but when we got inside the whole attitude changed. I have ordered Jimmy John's delivery from a different location in Austin near my job, and have always received fast service. I was surprised by how long this order took on a beautiful Saturday around 2 pm. It was not "freakishly fast" as promised. We ordered two sandwiches, a bag of chips and live only 1.5 miles away. The website has a nice tracker so I could watch my order being received, made...and than waiting about 40+ mins for it to notify it was out for delivery. All in all it took just under an hour from order to delivery. I joked with my boy friend it would have been faster to order and have delivered a hot pizza than a cold sandwich. I should have looked at the yelp reviews before automatically ordering. I new see several other people have had similarly slow results. I should add, I think the prices at the location are cheaper than the location in Austin. That is a plus. read more

These guys are pretty dang amazing with their sandwich services! They deliver, even just one single sandwich! The rolls are good. They're baked fresh in the store, but the dough is delivered frozen to the store. It all ends up tasting fresh. The meat is generous, and the chips are delicious! I came in here the other day for "Customer Appreciation Day" where subs were a buck! What a deal! Wow! There was a line out the door, but they took care of us rather quickly, and get us all fed and happy for just a buck! The place is clean, and well-lit. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, especially when they're having Customer Appreciation Day, but that's to be expected. I can't fault them in the least bit for that one. My experience with this particular Jimmy John's location was a phenomenal one! Shane the manager at this location ensures that your orders are correct before arriving and arrive correctly. Along with that his team and him are kind and courteous and have been a great improvement to this location. I personally use this Jimmy John's location several times a year for UTHSCSA interview season for my residency and fellowship program as we love their lunch box offering for our candidates and this year I was skeptical about using this location as the past years I have used them they have become unfriendly, sending in accurate orders, etc but this year has changed in a big way due to Shane and his team! Every order I had during my fellowship interviews which resulted to 7 interview days for about 20 people came out exactly right and I couldnt of been more pleased and not only that I have never had a restaurant follow up with me to ensure our order was correct and the delivery/driver was kind and courteous. I really appreciate Shane and his team as interview season is already a very stressful time for everyone including me ensuring that everything goes off without an issues that now I know with Shane and his team that is one less worry I have to have. A huge thank you to Shane and his team and I look forward to continuing to use them as I still have a few more interview days coming up :). read more

This Jimmy johns location used to be "freaky fast" delivery. I used to order lunch all the time when at work and could guarantee it would come in 10-15 minutes. The last few times this has not been the case, wait time of 40 minutes or more. I work across the street at Methodist Hospital and ordered a sandwich last night and an hour later finally received it. The soda was watered down from sitting for an hour waiting to be delivered. Called the store two different times to check the status of my order as the tracker in the app showed it had yet to leave the store to be delivered. They said they were waiting for their driver. You shouldn't advertise "freaky fast" delivery if it's going to take an hour or more to come across the street... there was no indicator on the site that delivery times were longer due to volume of orders or anything like this and I was not offered any type of reimbursement. The man at the store said after I waited an hour that the driver just arrived and had the nerve to ask if I "still want my order". Will not order here any more as it's not worth the price for the time you wait. read more

Granted, sometimes this Jimmy John's can take a little bit of time delivering your sandwich, but more often than not they deliver within a reasonable amount of time. They always attempt to accommodate you as best they can and the drivers/delivery person giving you your sandwich is always delightful to talk to. Go to sandwich is definitely the Italian night club. Now just because you get a sandwich doesn't meal your meal is healthy. This sub basically epitomizes this concept. With 900+ calories in this sandwich, it definitely takes a chunk of of the daily caloric intake, however, it's well worth it. It's phenomenal. Service is polite and fast, and the food is fresh as you would expect, but I am (perhaps disproportionately) outraged that they do not have sprouts. More accurately, that they're not upfront about it. The beach club is my favorite, and I've ordered it twice so far here- the first time I noticed something was missing but could not put my finger on what. The second time, I realized the sprouts were missing but figured it was either a mistake or that ,y bf had ordered it that way for me out of habit since he does not like them. Then we went today, and he ordered his without sprouts and mine with extra, only to be told that they don't carry sprouts at all.no explanation, no use of the word "sorry" in the sentence, just that they don't carry them. Which wouldn't be as infuriating if their menu didn't list sprouts on the sandwich, only to receive it without them repeatedly without this being acknowledged. At the very least, take it off your damn menu board, whether you paint over it or whatever: its a faux chalkboard menu, it's not hard. read more

Oh man, I have fallen in love. I had never had Jimmy Johns before, mainly because I have always favored Subway. No longer! My wife finally convinced me to try JJ, and so we stopped by to pick up some dinner. I tried the Gargantuan, and picked up a JJBLT for breakfast the next morning. Amazing!!
