The service here was great. I got the half soup and sandwich. Both were delicious. The sandwich was smaller than I expected, but it was yummy so I didn't mind. The shop is cute and has great lighting. We opted to sit outside on a sunny day and it was nice.

This was my first time and definitely not the last visit to the W D Deli. I stopped by here based upon the recommendation of some coworkers and was absolutely delighted. I ordered the Italian Panini and tomato basil soup. orders can be placed in person or online for convenient pick up. There is sufficient parking and one can get in and out fast. All I can say is, "oh it's so good!".

Went here with my other half and the vibes outmatched the food. I had a lot of fun coloring and having great conversation in here. The food did not impress me. It had some flavor in the sandwich, but the mac and cheese tasted worse than craft and velveta and I can't stand either. I enjoyed this experience overall and will try something new next time and give it another chance!

Cuban sandwich with Macaroni and Cheese.

Visited this place for lunch with friends and everything was so fresh and good. Had the Cuban sandwich and got to pick a side which was Mac and Cheese. They also had some baked items to purchase like cookies and cupcakes. Environment was very nice. Will come back again.

This place had a totally cute vibe to it. Such a nicely decorated interior with cute decor. I really liked the menu options as there was plenty to choose from but it did take quite a while to come out. Although the staff were friendly the food seemed mediocre and maybe overpriced. I'd definitely have to retry to give a better menu impression as I'm not sure if it could be better. Overall it definitely seems average but cute.

I have since got back multiple times to give the gluten free bread a second chance and I have enjoyed it. I always love the service and happy to say this is one of my favorite places now. The ambiance is hard to beat it provides an at home feel.

So pissed right now I ordered the beef n blue $9.00 with a free side. (Well it comes with maybe not free ‍) I ordered on the phone, from the YELP app. Get inside and it's 19.00!!!!!!! All the dude could say was can "we don't know why it's like that" they didn't honor it or nothing I won't be back Overpowered with horseradish oh my God, they squished it in a Panini griller instead of a toaster, cause it was broken so it's soggy..... Oh, I can't eat it......(trying to eat and type at the sand time) It's too much horseradish

I love this place. Used to go here years ago when I worked on Broadway. Not I have to make it point every so often to go and visit. The staff is awesome. Always nice and accommodating. The place is really nice and unique to sit and eat in. The food is amazing. Anything you get is good. Great for a lunch. Great to meet and catch up with a friend. Or even a little date lunch. WD Deli rocks. Go visit them soon.

THE SPINACHOKE CHICKEN with a side of Broccoli & Cheese Soup - it's my legit favorite sandwich and 9.5/10 times what I get when i go

I have been going here since before half-price books closed and it's so sad that I can't buy a cookie after lunch and go walk around half price books but if you ever get a chance, definitely check this place out. It's amazing and they do brunch on the weekends.

I was craving a sandwich and had been wanting to come here for quite a while. Went on a Sunday at 11. It wasn't too full, but by the time I left the parking lot was full. They do have on site parking. They have many selections of hot and cold sandwiches. I noticed they also had brunch. I opted for an egg salad sandwich with a Caesar salad as my side. The sandwich was hearty and flavorful. They do have a display of some amazing cookies. I wanted to try the lemon white chocolate one and was lucky enough to go on a day of where they were having a promotion of buy one get one free. I ended up trying the coconut cream one as well. The coconut cream was a little too sweet for my taste, but I can see how it can be popular. For drinks, they have coffee, fountain drinks and a good selection of cold brew teas. My favorite was the blackberry jasmine tea. You order at the counter and then someone brings you your food. They do have inside and outside seating.

Lunch with a dear friend at a familar place, what could be better!? Watching one of the staff coming out of the kitchen with a stack of cookies just tickled my fancy. They looked like crispy oatmeal cookies. I'm sure they were amazing. I was getting a to-go box, or I would've grabbed one. I got the cranberry pecan chicken salad - it's tasty. Always good. Sadly it triggered my ARFID issues though. Too much mayo. I wasn't sure why there was additional mayonnaise on the single piece of lettuce. I consumed half, & scraped the other half of the salad off the bread to take home for later, because the chicken salad was wonderful. It's just that much mayo caused the bread to desenigrate. The melon salad was wonderful. My fly friends who joined us for lunch truly enjoyed our lunch. It was all very fresh & tasty. Not blaming them for how my brain twitches. I love the salad, just a little less mayo. Next time I'll ask. My friend was just not having it. She's worse than I am. No mayo! The hibiscus & mint tea was super refreshing. My favorite part was sitting outside & enjoying the gorgeous spring weather with my friend. The inside is just a little too loud for me. I can say the vibe is more fast paced than it once was, not bad, just a different feel to it now. Wondering if they still have the Mac & cheese soup? Gonna have to go back. And maybe get one of those cookies!

Meeting friends for lunch we decided to meet at WD deli. I haven't been here in a while, so I was looking forward to catching up. After looking over the board menus I walk up to the counter and order the southwest roast beef sandwich with a side of the tortilla soup. They have a drink counter where you can serve yourself and I really liked the selection of flavored teas they offered; I started off with the hibiscus/mint then later had a jasmine/green tea. My order was brough out and the roast beef sandwich was really tasty due to the jalapeño cream cheese which gave its own identity from others I've had. The roast beef was thinly sliced and nicely brined. The bread was nicely toasted and the lettuce/tomato was fresh and crispy. The tortilla soup was a tomato base soup that had a very tasty flavor profile that blended perfectly with the chicken chunks, toasted chips and cheese. This would be great on a really cold day as it is definitely a comfort food. Overall, I'm glad that I came by to revisit WD Deli. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

Counter with glorious spread of melt in your mouth cookies.

It's the kind of place folks drift into and, before long, start calling their own. The people there carry themselves with quiet pride--no fuss, no show--just a steady hand at their work and a genuine welcome for whoever steps through the door. The menu ain't thrown together. It's been shaped with care, like a well-tuned string on a guitarra, each choice meant to stand on its own but better still when taken together. The flavors come through bold and honest, with a little flourish here and there--nothing overdone, just enough to remind you somebody back there knows what they're about. It's a small spot, sure, but that only draws folks closer. Feels a bit like gathering under a shaded porch after a long day--easy talk, shared laughter, and the sense you're among friends, whether you've known 'em years or just met 'em. Every greeting carries the warmth of old ties, like you've been welcomed back rather than simply let in. And the food--well, it doesn't hold back. Each bite's got a richness that settles in and makes you slow down, take notice, and then go back for more. It's the kind of meal that stays with you, the way a good story does. Spend a little time there with friends, and you'll come away knowing you've found something true--a place where the spirit of San Antonio, with its charro heart and neighborly ways, lives on in every plate set down and every hand extended in welcome.

So, when co-workers wanted to go yesterday, I jumped on it. Don't get me wrong. I love the vibe of this place. I LOVE their story. It's very NY/Northeastern deli feel (they're from Pittsburgh, but you get my drift, right!?). No nonsense. Small inside area. No tables inside. Just enough room to look at the menu, order, and go wait outside. I opted for the chicken bacon ranch on hoagie. What came out was a decent size sandwich, but incredibly messy and soggy. There was so much juice/ liquid the sandwich quickly became unmanageable and just disintegrated. Look, if you're going to serve a sandwich that messy, please upgrade your napkins. It was a one bite - two napkin ratio. The sandwich was good, but the mess and difficulty eating it just took away any enjoyment. Additionally, the flies outside rivaled the worst I've experienced. Do you remember the scene in the Lost World, Jurassic Park movie when the hunters found the Rex nest!? Okay, okay, maybe not that bad, but it was a lot. Hang some fly bags or strips or somethin'. Found price to be a little high. By the time I bought chips and a drink, plus tip: $22. Just FYI: my co-worker disagrees. He thought it was the BEST SANDWICH HE'D EVER HAD. So, yes, go give them a try, but bring a beach towel for clean up.

The water station had nothing at all--just a small, empty pitcher. There were not enough plates, so I guess we were expected to reuse the dinner plates on the table. The food felt very institutional. Tortilla chips with warm salsa were strange, the queso was okay, and dinner was a salad (fine) plus a buffet of ravioli and bowtie Alfredo. Pizza eventually appeared but disappeared quickly, and a few more pizzas showed up later. Some wings arrived even later and did not look appetizing. There was very little attentiveness beyond that. The space, the food, and the service all left a lot to be desired.
