The service here was great. I got the half soup and sandwich. Both were delicious. The sandwich was smaller than I expected, but it was yummy so I didn't mind. The shop is cute and has great lighting. We opted to sit outside on a sunny day and it was nice.
I ordered the French Toast Plate ($12.99). Unfortunately, the french toast was severely burnt on the bottom side--completely charred black, which made it bitter and inedible. It felt like the burnt side was intentionally placed face down to hide it. Charging $12.99 for inedible food like this is a total rip-off, and I honestly cannot believe the kitchen thought it was acceptable to serve it. What makes it even worse is that I selected a 20% tip when paying at order, only to receive this kind of food and treatment. On top of that, the silverware provided was greasy, leaving me to wonder if it had even been washed properly. The table itself was also sticky and far from clean. Overall, the service and customer care were extremely poor. I left feeling thoroughly uncomfortable and disappointed.
time and time again, W D Deli hits the spot! I love visiting this sandwhich shop and trying out different sandwiches, but I ALWAYS order the chicken tortilla soup as my side. The bread on the panini's is always toasted to perfection and the chicken tortilla soup is consistently loaded with shredded chicken. The service is quick and the staff are friendly. This San Antonio staple should always be on your list of places to visit.
It's a really good sandwich. I liked mine (the chicken parm sandwich) and my wife got the Italian which was also good. I think her Italian could have used some sauce or other interesting flavor added, but really all in all a great sandwich.

I ordered the Italian Panini and tomato basil soup. orders can be placed in person or online for convenient pick up. There is sufficient parking and one can get in and out fast. All I can say is, "oh it's so good!".

Service was great, all the employees were attentive and informative especially being our first time there. Food came out pretty quickly and everything was fresh, we will be back!
Went on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I tried the chipotle chicken and my boyfriend had the Reuben. He said it was the best he's tried in San Antonio. My sandwich was okay, the chipotle was not spicy at all, so in all, the sandwich was a bit bland. Last time, I ordered the Kickin' Turkey, which I think is still my personal favorite. The camerlized onions stood out to me, and in all the flavors were exceptional. And I'm not even an onion person! Ambiance was nice and the service was great! Cookies were also delicious. We will come again, just maybe a different sandwich or I'll order the Kickin' Turkey like last time. Check them out!
Went here with my other half and the vibes outmatched the food. I had a lot of fun coloring and having great conversation in here. The food did not impress me. It had some flavor in the sandwich, but the mac and cheese tasted worse than craft and velveta and I can't stand either. I enjoyed this experience overall and will try something new next time and give it another chance!
This place had a totally cute vibe to it. Such a nicely decorated interior with cute decor. I really liked the menu options as there was plenty to choose from but it did take quite a while to come out. Although the staff were friendly the food seemed mediocre and maybe overpriced. I'd definitely have to retry to give a better menu impression as I'm not sure if it could be better. Overall it definitely seems average but cute.
I have since got back multiple times to give the gluten free bread a second chance and I have enjoyed it. I always love the service and happy to say this is one of my favorite places now. The ambiance is hard to beat it provides an at home feel.
So pissed right now I ordered the beef n blue $9.00 with a free side. (Well it comes with maybe not free ) I ordered on the phone, from the YELP app. Get inside and it's 19.00!!!!!!! All the dude could say was can "we don't know why it's like that" they didn't honor it or nothing I won't be back Overpowered with horseradish oh my God, they squished it in a Panini griller instead of a toaster, cause it was broken so it's soggy..... Oh, I can't eat it......(trying to eat and type at the sand time) It's too much horseradish
Visited this place for lunch with friends and everything was so fresh and good. Had the Cuban sandwich and got to pick a side which was Mac and Cheese. They also had some baked items to purchase like cookies and cupcakes. Environment was very nice. Will come back again.
I love this place. Used to go here years ago when I worked on Broadway. Not I have to make it point every so often to go and visit. The staff is awesome. Always nice and accommodating. The place is really nice and unique to sit and eat in. The food is amazing. Anything you get is good. Great for a lunch. Great to meet and catch up with a friend. Or even a little date lunch. WD Deli rocks. Go visit them soon.
What an amazing meal! My fiancé and I swung by for lunch on our way to the Witte and we're so glad that we did. The interior of this place was so unique, the staff were welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Naturally we had to sit in the upstairs dining area just for the novelty of it, and while we didn't have to wait too long for our meal, we had fun playing the trivia card game that was on each table. I ordered the Parmo Pollo Panini with Tomato Basil Soup. The chicken in the Panini was a little dry, but coupled with the Tomato Basil Soup I could hardly tell. While they were delicious together, both were just as tasty on their own. The Panini was a good hearty sandwich, and the Tomato Basil Soup was packed full with delicious spices. I ended up taking up half of both the Soup and Panini to go as the portions were so large. I'm glad we went at the start of lunch rush as it was packed by the time we left. I'd highly recommend W D if you're after a satisfying meal! read more

Came in for a late brunch on a Sunday and we were able to snag a table even with having a baby in a stroller. Service was nice! Apparently the kitchen was short staffed so instead of ordering a breakfast item we ordered a couple of paninis. The food took some time to come out but again, they were short staffed and it's Sunday brunch , there's gonna be a wait and that's fine! When we did get our food we both really enjoyed our paninis! The Green Belt Melt was delicious and not over stuffed, the bread was in my opinion the best part though. Really tasty and crunchy! The inside of the place was also super warm but the building itself is an old house, like a very old house, so again what can you expect? Overall we'd definitely come back but hopefully get a table downstairs and go earlier in the day when it isn't as hot. read more

I have been going here since before half-price books closed and it's so sad that I can't buy a cookie after lunch and go walk around half price books but if you ever get a chance, definitely check this place out. It's amazing and they do brunch on the weekends. read more
I was craving a sandwich and had been wanting to come here for quite a while. Went on a Sunday at 11. It wasn't too full, but by the time I left the parking lot was full. They do have on site parking. They have many selections of hot and cold sandwiches. I noticed they also had brunch. I opted for an egg salad sandwich with a Caesar salad as my side. The sandwich was hearty and flavorful. They do have a display of some amazing cookies. I wanted to try the lemon white chocolate one and was lucky enough to go on a day of where they were having a promotion of buy one get one free. I ended up trying the coconut cream one as well. The coconut cream was a little too sweet for my taste, but I can see how it can be popular. For drinks, they have coffee, fountain drinks and a good selection of cold brew teas. My favorite was the blackberry jasmine tea. You order at the counter and then someone brings you your food. They do have inside and outside seating. read more
Lunch with a dear friend at a familar place, what could be better!? Watching one of the staff coming out of the kitchen with a stack of cookies just tickled my fancy. They looked like crispy oatmeal cookies. I'm sure they were amazing. I was getting a to-go box, or I would've grabbed one. I got the cranberry pecan chicken salad - it's tasty. Always good. Sadly it triggered my ARFID issues though. Too much mayo. I wasn't sure why there was additional mayonnaise on the single piece of lettuce. I consumed half, & scraped the other half of the salad off the bread to take home for later, because the chicken salad was wonderful. It's just that much mayo caused the bread to desenigrate. The melon salad was wonderful. My fly friends who joined us for lunch truly enjoyed our lunch. It was all very fresh & tasty. Not blaming them for how my brain twitches. I love the salad, just a little less mayo. Next time I'll ask. My friend was just not having it. She's worse than I am. No mayo! The hibiscus & mint tea was super refreshing. My favorite part was sitting outside & enjoying the gorgeous spring weather with my friend. The inside is just a little too loud for me. I can say the vibe is more fast paced than it once was, not bad, just a different feel to it now. Wondering if they still have the Mac & cheese soup? Gonna have to go back. Meeting friends for lunch we decided to meet at WD deli. I haven't been here in a while, so I was looking forward to catching up. After looking over the board menus I walk up to the counter and order the southwest roast beef sandwich with a side of the tortilla soup. They have a drink counter where you can serve yourself and I really liked the selection of flavored teas they offered; I started off with the hibiscus/mint then later had a jasmine/green tea. My order was brough out and the roast beef sandwich was really tasty due to the jalapeño cream cheese which gave its own identity from others I've had. The roast beef was thinly sliced and nicely brined. The bread was nicely toasted and the lettuce/tomato was fresh and crispy. The tortilla soup was a tomato base soup that had a very tasty flavor profile that blended perfectly with the chicken chunks, toasted chips and cheese. This would be great on a really cold day as it is definitely a comfort food. Overall, I'm glad that I came by to revisit WD Deli. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. read more

Such a cute and quaint place!! We came on a weekday morning for an early lunch and enjoyed our time here!! The workers were so nice and welcoming, and there is so much indoor seating! There's an upstairs level but it was reserved when we visited. The sandwiches are very filling, and they have a great selection of sides! I got the chicken tortilla soup and club turkey, which was super good. Also, when you check-in on Yelp, you get a complimentary cookie! The white chocolate lemon cookie was good! It was pretty hard but it tasted unique! Overall, this is a great place to grab a bite, study, catch up with friends! read more

The food was very flavorful and plenty. Large variety, something for everyone. The young lady behind the counter was very knowledgeable about the ingredients in the options. The place was very quiet, great place to have lunch and be able to actually have a conversation. The only reason I gave this place four stars is because we sat in the second level dinning and we had to walk downstairs to refill our cups. No one comes around to ask if you need a refill, that's on your own. read more
Was out and about in the Broadway area and my friend recommended we eat here. It's a small family owned deli restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Cesar Wrap. I chose the baked potato soup for the side. It was a good portion for the price. The sandwich was good and fresh. The soup was creamy. All staff were really friendly from the lady who took our order at the register to the gentlemen who picked up our plates. I checked in on Yelp and received a free cookie so make sure you check in on the app. read more

I stopped by for lunch on a busy Saturday. We did have to wait a bit for an online order but it was well worth the wait. They have plenty of seating indoors and additional seating on the second floor. I had a build your own chicken wrap and my husband ordered a Cobb salad with pimiento cheese. We also got a few sweet treats to try including two cookies and a Hello Dolly bar. My husband said it was the best pimiento cheese he'd ever eaten. My wrap was toasted and delicious! It came with a side salad and a pickle. Check them out! I will definitely be returning and next time we'll sit inside instead of getting our food to-go. read more

We had to feed 20+ people during a working lunch session... WDDeli was outstanding for cost, efficiency, variety and deliciousness! The box lunch meal was the way to go and the team (Steven carried the box to my car!) was very friendly! Thank you WD Deli! read more
Alright, please know that this rating is solely based on me tasting the best "SA Italian Sandwiches". I should have known better after reading it was on the panini list. I felt like I was eating an upgrade to an adult grilled cheese. The pepperoni wasn't impressive, but overall the flavor was nice. I will say this food item should be served to children trying to expand their food palate. Even the side salad was doused with dressing that you could hardly taste the lettuce. It could have been a bad or a rough end of the day.. not sure. I know I have had better experiences from this establishment. However, if you're expecting an Italian sandwich, look past unless you're trying to make an introduction for a kid who's starting to branch out from chicken nuggets. read more
Love this cute little deli! The ambience is cozy and fun. The food is fresh and delicious. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. There are many two seat tables and a few tables for 4. They also have seating upstairs but I didn't venture up there so I can't speak on that. I've ordered pick up from WD a few times but it's a cute place to enjoy a sandwich or soup or a yummy cookie! Why not all three?! And bring a friend because food tastes better with friends read more
