We went to the Firehouse Subs at the Northwoods Shopping Center on Friday night and were extremely disappointed with the quality and portion size of the sandwiches. If you order a small or medium sub, expect it to be the size of a kids sandwich. In order to get a quality sub, you have to buy a large or specialty sub! Although I believe in supporting good causes, the next time we're choosing Jersey Mike's where the quality and portion sizes are consistently satisfying! Oh yeah, the staff is also rude! read more

Today I stopped in for a quick lunch at the Firehouse Subs on 1604. This was my very first time at this location, as the location on Babcock is closer to my job. I would like to highlight the amazing Customer Service of Charles, the manager and Luke, as well as the other associates upon my arrival. I was greeted warmly and today I utilized the Firehouse reward app and selected a free Large Cajun chicken sandwich. Charles and Luke assisted me and ensured that my chicken sandwich was made to perfection. The sandwich was piping hot and I enjoyed a nice cold lemonade to accompany my sandwich. As I ate, Charles and I struck up a conversation and I found out that he along with several crew members were fellow veterans. I appreciate Firehouse Subs for supporting the military and thank all first responders for their service. I continued to chat with Charles and polished off one half of my sandwich. After gobbling down my first half, Charles grabbed me a to go box for my sandwich and I even grabbed a hug on the way out. I'll definitely return to this awesome location and thank Firehouse Subs for the Rewards that allow us to redeem such excellent goodies. Also, Charles reminded me that we are also able to redeem rewards on our Birthday. I love this place and I know you will too. read more

Firehouse Subs - Spicy Cajun Chicken - Sandwiches Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

They have really good, warm sandwiches! The sandwiches are great quality and taste delicious! The best option is to order online first and then pick it up in the store (and either eat there or bring it home). They are a little slow from my past couple of experiences, but ordering online through their app was the way to go. Our food was ready when we got there about 20 minutes after placing the order, and we ended up eating in the store. The app made it really easy to customize our sandwiches how we wanted, and you can also collect points in the app to go towards free items! Overall, it was a really great experience and we really enjoyed our sandwiches. The kids meal was the perfect size for our toddler, too. We will definitely be back, and we will be using the app for all future orders. read more

Grilled cheese was burnt, missing literally half my order, meatball sub wasn't toasted and had no flavor

These people know how to make a better sub. Ordering process was quick today. Cashier was training two new workers so while I was ordering, she was calling out instructions to them, which was a bit annoying but at least the process was quick. Menu is clear and easy to choose from. Good variety of chips to accompany your sandwich. Took my order home and the hubby loves the Hook & Ladder sub and was pleased with it yet again. I tried the Engineer which had sautéed mushrooms in it. It was a good sub. Highly recommend and will return. read more

I had a basic turkey sandwich and added on a lot of sides! Everything was so delicious including the potato soup! If you are a fan of potato soup this one hands down was so good! The customer service at this location was also on point. Sometimes during the holidays it seems like employees can be a little more on the grumpy side but not here at firehouse subs! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating when I asked for extra things! read more

This is your go to sub place if you hate any topping other than mayo and mustard because thats all you will get. Also if you just let the manager know for the future and ask for no refund just improvement they will not care, at all, so thats cool! As I know lots of people around here would love a place like that! read more

For over 2 decades, this company has been consistently top notch. For chain subshops, their flavor and quality is unmatched.

The food was fine but we waited 40 minutes for 2 small subs and Mac and cheese. Come to find out the order was done for a while but either didn't call our name or whispered it. It wasn't until someone after us got their name called that we went up there to check for ours. They didn't bother to call the name again but just left it up there. read more

If this comment was directed at me or not, it was unprofessional to laugh and make fun of a customer while others are around. Just so that way management knows that this wasn't cool. My sister and I were waiting for an online order. We were there pretty early and knew we would have to wait. We were texted the order was ready around 6:50. Didn't see anything. I had went to stand next to the pick up order section. Most employees looked at me, yet didn't ask to see if I needed anything. Understandable, so I went to the cash register. Ask for the order, was told it was being worked on. Confused because the text said ready... moving on. I go back and stand near the to go pick up. I see an order being packed and one of the employees put a to go order on the stand. NOW, I went up to just check the bag and see if it was our order, due to being told our order was being worked on. I went to just CHECK the bag... was told that's not your order. Okay cool.. so I step back. After stepping back, one of the employees, decides to say OUT LOUD, "I can't believe that lady tried to take that bag." And her and her fellow coworkers started to laugh... while Im standing there. That is highly disrespectful and as a customer, that is something I definitely do not like and I did not want to make a scene. It's not right to do that in front of any customer and that's unprofessional. At least wait until the customer leaves or say it in the back. read more

Good sandwiches. Nothing really sets them apart from other shops. But way better than subway.

Excellent courteous friendly staff would highly recommend. Subs were delicious. Definitely going back. Five star plus

Delicious! So good, only bad part is steaming the sandwich does take a few minutes, so don't come in if your in a hurry. Also if your picking up to go, your sandwich can get pretty soggy if not eaten immediately. So go only short distances. read more

Update, apparently my last review got some attention. Good call, you are back up to 4 stars since you went back to providing great subs at a good price. I really appreciate the turn arpund you did. The meatball sub is good, but shockingly, this is one of the best places to get a salad around here! read more

Firehouse subs are different then Your regular sub shops as they have a nice selection of deli subs, which I love. They're freshly made and will serve warm. My only complaint is they take so long to make. If you're in a hurry, don't go here. However, if you have the time to sit in there relaxing restaurant and enjoy these savory subs, you won't be disappointed! read more

I've given this firehouse so many chances. Honestly I just feel as though it won't change. I went in a few night ago, Antonio was rude rushing me thru our order because it was 15 minutes to closing. We had the time mixed I thought they closed at 10 not 9. Ok my bad but we ordered didn't eat in cause he was rude. Get our food home ready to eat. I've taken 3 bites of one side of the medium sand which.. on this 3rd bite it wouldn't come apart. I stop chewing look at the sand which and what do u know it's a long hair submerged between the meat cooked into the cheese (firehouse smoked cheddar) I immediately spit out any particles from my mouth and barf up my guts literally. 2 combos and I only got the sandwich. Called Antonio still acted like he didn't care. Waited for the next day and spoke to the manager. No help, tell me who I couldn't get a refund for that sandwich when I clearly brought it back Un eaten and the rest in a name from the hair bite. I had two bites?! He insisted putting my name on the board as if I'm going to run back in to get me another hair sandwich. While I'm talking I notice the do t have hair nets and the chick wit the long hair was just staring at me. This hair was cooked in so it looked as if either it was in the meat or the cheese and it wasn't funny! I'd rather my few bucks back! Forcing me to come back is rude! I had my receipt a the sandwich! I told Charles this and nothing! This set of people are worthless! The owner minus well come work cause he's the only one with some sense! read more

First time ever trying Fire House Subs. Not sure if I'll Be back. I have been waiting 20 min for our order. Others have been waiting longer. A couple waiting longer then us got their order and it was wrong. Is this normal practice. I hope the sub I ordered isn't as bad as this service. read more

Amazing subs. Very juicy, filled, and flavorful. The wait time is a little long sometimes, but personally for me it's worth it. I prefer this place over subway any time because their ingredients seem more fresh, and the subs are way more worth your money. read more

Food and service were fine the only issue was this location doesn't have any kid meal specials. Other locations kids eat free on Sundays and others kid meals are .99 cents after 4pm. But here nothing. Came here on a Sunday and we pasted the one on 1604 &. Bandera that had kids meals for .99 cents. Just going to make a mental note to only come to this one alone. read more

Food is always so good, the staff is always friendly and greets you with a smile. Their sweet tea is amazing!

Ordered online to do customer pickup, when my husband got home he was missing all drinks (5) and all chips that I paid meals for.. when I called to let them know the man said that it was the Uber drivers fault I told him my husband picked it up and he said that was our responsibility to grab our own drinks and chips. I told him you didn't pack them or give my husband the cups.. he said we don't offer that kind of service "we are not that type of restaurant" I'm sorry but if you offer customer pickup you should have everything ready to go! I asked for refund and he said he couldn't do it ..that he would need to give me cash I would need to head back out to the store to pick it up. I told him we are in the middle of dinner. He said there's nothing I can do. For the price of 5 combos and only receiving sandwiches I say there's something they should be able to do. Next time I'm going to subway at least they treat me better and don't take my money! read more

Team Leader Olivia & Team Blaise, Nathan, & Haley did it again - welcome mat was rolled out in the usual comfortable but efficient way I have come to expect. I love firehouse subs ... but this location struggles to keep me as a customer. It could just be the weekend crew, but they gave me a terrible sandwich. When I first walked in, they were too busy flirting and joking around to take my order. I wanted my sub made to my liking so I ordered it with everything plus pickles and Italian dressing. When I got my sub home, it was sopping wet and had almost nothing on it. No tomato... no pickle... no mustard... just brown wilted lettuce and a whole lot of raw onion. FAIL read more

Warning....serious health hazard! Please DO NOT eat here! I came to this Firehouse yesterday after shopping at Academy. When I walked in I was surprised that I was the only customer at the time. There were 3 staff behind the counter. I walked to the register to place my order. I got the combo so I grabbed my chips and filled my cup with a drink while I patiently waited for my order at the table to dine in. My order was taking a while. I was by myself so I watched tv on their monitor for a bit, then paid more attention to the restaurant and noticed that the floor was extremely dirty. I noticed dirty napkins, lots of food droppings on the floor and some other trash. I said to myself, I am the only customer here. So obviously it is not busy in the store at all, but no one is cleaning up. Then I wondered if my sandwich was almost ready, so I turned my attention to the staff behind the counter to see if they were working on my order. While I was watching them, I see one of the male staff lift his hat off. He was wearing gloves on both hands because they are required to do so when handling food. He took one of his gloved hand and ran it through his long greasy hair a couple of times then put his hat back on. I watched him even closer this time to see if he was going to change his gloves because this will be the same person making my sandwich. He did NOT change his gloves, then he proceeded to scratch the inside of his nose and wiped his face with the same gloved hand. So I walked to the counter quickly and with a purpose just to ensure he will not be making my sandwich. When I approached and looked over the counter, I see him holding the bread in one hand and touching the hot meat with the hand he just touched his hair and nose with. I told him and the girl behind the counter that I no longer want that sandwich. She asked me why, and I looked directly at the male staff and told him exactly what I saw him do. I was extremely shocked and told him he cannot do that because he just contaminated my food and it was unsanitary. He apologized and changed his gloves. The female said she would get rid of the sandwich and make me a new one. I went straight to the register and told the other male staff that I wanted my money back. He gave it back to me without a fuzz. As I left the restaurant, I was extremely disappointed because I am sure this is a standard practice at this location when they think no one is watching. It was disgusting and they have no regard to food safety. read more

I went when it was relatively no one so the wait time was next to nothing, i order and a hook and line salad and it was delicious! The portions are very generous, which is good since it's a little on the pricey side for a sandwich shop. All in all a good experience I would go again read more

Customer service at this location is horrible. No one greets you, when you walk up to order the cashier just stares at you waiting for you to tell them your order, and when the food comes out they just drop it on the table and walk off. I've been to this location several times and it's the same thing every visit. My kids love eating here so we come whenever they crave it. They love getting a new hat and pretending to be firemen. Please work on your customer service skills. A smile and a hello goes a loooong way. read more
