The girl with the tattoo "Desperado" on her forearm should not be working with the public. There was a Spanish speaking gentleman in front of us who was having trouble communicating his order. My boyfriend translated for him, but in the process of trying to correct the order, he was accidentally overcharged. I spoke up on his behalf, and a polite young associate named Jardin went to get someone who could help. Vanessa came over and took his order in Spanish, but she had to get another associate to process the refund of the original incorrect amount. That's when the young woman with the desperado tattoo on her forearm arrived. She was visibly agitated, acted inconvenienced, and said he does not need a refund. Jardin advocated for the customer, and tattoo girl started banging coin rolls around angrily to get his change. She only refunded one of the two transactions, so Jardin had to speak up again. She sighed loudly and started banging coins around again as she refunded the second transaction. This made everyone at the counter uncomfortable- both customers and employees. The Spanish speaking customer who was being discriminated against appeared sad and intimidated. Vanessa and Jardin were extremely kind and patient and professional. They apologized on her behalf, and thanked us for our help. I just cannot even imagine how that poor man must have felt in that moment. Already in a vulnerable position, trying to eat dinner, and then being mistreated in front of a crowd of people. It was a horrible feeling for anyone watching the interaction, and more so for him I'm sure. If I could give this establishment 0 stars that would be more accurate. The last 5-6 times I visited this restaurant have been absolutely atrocious visits. I had ordered a shake for my son because he had just had dental work and all he wanted was a chocolate shake. The delivery driver came out and handed me a vanilla shake (easily detected by color and later by taste) and I asked her for a chocolate one - she said the color is light because "sometimes the chocolate is lighter." and I took it home to my son. My food was brought out and then I waited about 6 minutes for my drinks as my food is losing all of its heat. I had to call the store to remind them I still needed half of my order and the guy was snippy and ended up hanging up on me. They brought my drinks out 3 minutes later. Cool, my food was cold when I got home. The reason I'm writing this review is for the visit I just had. Again, giving them one more shot at curbside. My food came out again before the drinks. I had to ask the guy about my drinks. Dumbfounded he looks at my receipt and then proceeds to ask me what my drinks were. ‍ I told him and then he returned 3 minutes later with 3 drinks that are normally in a container. I usually have nothing but good things to say for a Whataburger because they pretty much always give a quality product and service. However. This is not a time I can give high praise. This time I decided to change it up from my usual Patty Melt and went for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I will have to be honest and say I just did not enjoy it. I can think of two other fast food restaurants that have a better product. I ordered online for pickup inside the restaurant and they shorted me a spicy ketchup (you can choose how many you want) and the person who brought me my order had to be reminded that I had a drink with it. In fact, there was a person sitting down who told the same person that she needed the drinks for her order, so she was given cups as well. Everything was awesome except one important thing. I've been wanting to try the Bacon Blue Cheese Burger since I first heard about it, but when I ordered it they told me they were out of blue cheese. Since day 1 that this Whataburger location has opened I've had nothing but good customer service and consistent food quality. Consistent doesn't mean that the items look picture-perfect, but they are hot and well-put together vs. falling apart. I've used their drive-thru a few times, and I'm never disappointed. There are two lanes that stay separated vs. converging to the window at peak hours. The inner-most lane will follow normal drive-thru procedures, while the outer-most will pull all the way forward, parallel with the other lane, and wait for an attendant to pay as well as for them to run the food out to them. Different, but definitely works when there are 6 cars in each lane. Occasionally they will offer free samples inside of their different menu items. Lack of clean tables and dirty floor in the dining area, drink station missing tea containers and dirty counter and just messy, from where I could see in the drive thru and the prep area had dirty floors with wrappers, napkins, straws etc strewn about the floor. Manager was helping with drive thru and it was just past lunch rush but very concerning how yucky it looked today. There was a large spill in the dining area with no hurry to get it cleaned up.
