Quesa Taco
Vincent D.

I really like this place it reminds me of home with the Carne Asada in the Al Pastor. The food was great and had awesome flavors. The workers were super nice and all had a smile on their faces. When asking about some stuff on the menu they knew their stuff. The inside was like a normal place to get some food. Nothing crazy but nice and clean. The orange salsa is bomb and has some spice to it. I got the carne Asada burrito and Quesa Taco. We also got a Torta with Al Pastor but I forgot to take a picture. Fail on my part.

Ashley W.

I got the Birria taco and the Al Pastor taco! Each taco was $3.50, which includes onions and cilantro. If you want to add queso, it is extra! If you pay with cash, there is no tax. I heard of this place because a friend recommended it. The birria was very tender and flavorful. Definitely get the consomme (birria soup) with it ($2.50) so you can dip the taco in it! I actually liked the al pastor taco a bit more. They added small chunks of pineapple. There are three different types of sauces in the refrigerator next to the soda machine. They also have many different Agua fresco flavors and Horchata! The inside of the store is really clean and there are lots of tables for large groups. The service was fast and friendly. I would definitely be coming back!

Came on a not so busy Sunday. The aguas Frescas start at $7 + $2 if you want it dressed. We tried the pineapple and Jamaica (hibiscus) , dressed. They were pretty good. We also had the Birria and Asada (a la carte) cheesy tacos and the Birria ramen combo. Definitely a great combo. We also tried the chicken flautas, which needed more seasoning on the chicken for my opinion but the rice was decent and the charred beans were good. My kid had the cheese quesadilla but he wishes he would've got the regular quesadillas. Overall pretty good experience. The staff is friendly. No liquor but there's a bar next door you can drink at while you wait for your food.

Saw this place on tik tok and made the drive out there only to be disappointed ! Tacos tortillas are fried so when I got my order to go and finally ate it, it was so crunchy and hard like jack in the box tacos but worse. Flavor is there, salsas were on point. I only give the horchata a 10/10 but the burrito came with nothing I mean you would expect like chips with it atleast lol but everything "extra" is another fee in itself. Which is disappointing. Charro beans were alright.. but the way I opened my 3 taco plate to be DISAPPOINTED with the portion of rice and a small ass side of charro beans like wtf ?!?!! If you're trying this place and came from tik tok I promise you the Mexican resturant by your house will be way better...

Cucumber lime agua upgraded! So good!

Helpful service and great food and drinks. First time here and we will definitely come again even if it's just for the aguas

These tacos, right here, are grrrrreat. The location is pretty easy, just be weary that it's next to a sports bar so the parking may be a little tight. Other than that, it's not too bad. Now after going inside, it's really clean and smells clean, no foul odors and any broken fixtures. The staff at the front are nice and very helping with the menu. A little tip, heb on potranco sometimes gives coupons for the place on their receipts, so that's a huge plus. The food is relatively cheap, which is pretty good for the quality of food. Now I really like this place for the amount of salsas you can try with your tacos. The rice and beans weren't too bad, they were good enough to have alongside the great tacos. I usually try to get one of each, a pastor/birria/asada. Those three are where it's at! Get the tacos loaded with cheese and guacamole, you Will NOT be disappointed.

Grease drained into lime cup. Gross! I was eating this.

I drained my Birria ramen and there was no consommé just grease. This is my fourth time ordering from here, and I can't believe how horrible the quality has become.

Always great service and bites. Sofia is great with us and knows me now lol. Stopped in for a quick Agua Fresca and that was all. We sat outside had our drink on the tables, great vibe!

Horchata
Leo K.

Parking is tight. Ambiance is basic and nice. Clean place! The birria tacos and dipping sauce were amazing. Rice and beans were average. The hot sauces were delicious. Some real spicy. Best Horchata I've ever had. The Service was average at best. The girl that brought our order sucked. Luckily the guy that was serving was on point. Would have been 5 stars if not for the service. Will be back.

However, this time I had something I hadn't tried before, which was the portobello torta, check the pic posted here, but I warn you, if a pic says 1k words, then a taste says a bagillion words (is that even English ?). But that's what happens when umami meets Mexican bliss. When your order is taken with pleasure and prepared before your eyes at this bustling establishment, it's flair mixed with fair. Go check out what has me coming back for more, time and time again. As I left, with my road tacs, the owner reminded me that the food travels well, I neglected to inform her that I didn't expect them to make it very far . Again, it's a must see scene here at Plantaqueria- hope to see y'all there.

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. It's all tucked inside El Camino, which adds to the whole vibe, string lights, people hanging out, that easygoing outdoor feel where you lose track of time a little.

The smell alone made me think we were in for something special. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and ordered tacos, which seemed like the obvious choice. The tacos were good, but that's about where I'd leave it. They weren't bad at all, but they also weren't particularly memorable. With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10. Worth trying if you're already at El Camino, but not a place I'd go out of my way for.

Have been coming here for years when they were a smaller food truck I love to see how popular…read morethey've become. Me and my husband love late night food runs and this place is perfect because they are always open late. There is never a long wait (as long as you get there before the bar crowds let out) and food is always fresh. St Mary's is a busy area but that just adds to the food truck experience. They will always have a customer in me!

My wife and I use to frequent this place YEARS ago, the service was good and the food was good,…read moreyears later we decided to go back & mannn the food quality & service has went down terribly! Pulled up on a Friday late night with my family ordered the standard 5 tacos. They are a bit pricey as well. I ordered the carne Asada and my mother in law ordered the chicken. While it did seem like it tasted good it was super greasy. (TMI coming up) When I woke up the next morning my I noticed my bowels were literally moving the next day, (I counted about 9 times). I felt bloated and everything. My wife even told me that as we were pulling off she witnessed the cook I believe his name is Julio eating some of the product while he was preparing peoples food (the side door of the food truck was open so you could see right in). Funny enough we decided to go back Saturday evening to give them another try, thinking it would be better, BOY was we wrong. I ordered the same order plus charro Beans, elote (corn in a cup) and 3 cans of sprite. This time we took literally one bite and the meat was DRYER than the Saharan desert both the carne asada and the chicken. (Tasted like some reheated old meat or meat that had been made days prior). We were already at the hotel at this point and was infuriated!!! We ended up calling and I believe I spoke to Julio (or whoever the cook is) over the phone. After lying saying that he cooked the meat fresh that day he stuttered I told him aint no way the meat was fresh. He then said and I quote " I cooked the meat "a couple days ago" then said "sorry I burnt it or overcooked it". (Knowing that why would you serve that to me?) I then stated "yes it tasted old period". I requested a refund in which he agreed to. Driving all the way back I brought the food back as well. Julio (or whoever the cooks name is) tried to plead his case to me saying that the meat is fresh and took a fork and tasted the food himself and then tried to offer me the food. I told him "no I don't want to taste it, just refund me please" in which he did. Dishonesty, Not handling food with care, lying. Is something that crosses the line and I won't be back. *Also if the owner is reading this I have the phone conversation recorded and the video evidence to show proof this whole interaction, so do not just glaze over this review* I don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is for sure warranted. Seems like they will dress up the taco and selling you some "old meat" people just be careful and mindful when coming to this taco truck. "The Earths Best Taco" they say... that's a stretch!

The atmosphere and lighting create a very intimate vibe, and the darker setting really helps it stand out from other restaurants in Laredo. Just a heads up -- they do have a dress code, which honestly adds to the overall experience. The food was excellent. I ordered the chicken mushroom plate, and all the flavors were bold and well balanced. For drinks, I highly recommend the Jardin Eden. The fusion of lavender, blueberry, fruity liqueurs, and aromatic herbs made it one of the best cocktails I've had in a while. My only complaint was the service. We had a party of 10+ people with only one server assigned to us. He was very kind and professional, but it was difficult to find him throughout the night, especially when we were trying to pay our checks. The restaurant also wasn't very busy at the time, so service felt slower than expected. Overall, this is still a great spot for a special night out, and I would definitely come back.
