Parking is set up in a drive-through type setting. This made it confusing as to whether someone would come out to take my order or if I was to go inside.....GO INSIDE! The aroma of the smoked foods made it seem as if I was already consuming the food. I ordered brisket, ribs, potato salad and Mac n cheese. EVERYTHING was SO TASTY! But the best, (licking my lips) was the banana pudding!!!!!' Service was phenomenal and I appreciated the explanations of the menu items. I initially planned to order for take out but the aroma was so enticing that I decided to take advantage of their outdoor seating and devour my food. I shall return for more BBQLIFE when I am on the east side.

This was by far the worst barbecue I've ever had in quite some time from the beans being straight out of a can to the ribs being mushy with no pull. The brisket was beautiful to look at that extremely tough to the bite. The potato salad is the lone one star I gave this place although it lacked a lot of ingredients it was homemade. All these 4 1/2 star reviews boggle my mind. Maybe we went on a wrong day. I don't know, but there was several people there that were waiting for a long time to receive their orders also They don't have a dining area just some simple chairs sit outside between the parking spots. Enjoy.

The coleslaw was outstanding and freshly made. The brisket was moist flavorful and perfectly cooked with a light crust on the outside but the interior was soft and juicy. I always find the experience of eating barbecue to be a nod to our former neanderthal glory. Be it men who surround a table with hunks of brisket only to communicate using "grunts." Or ladies who forgo a napkin and lose their demure inhibitions. This is Texas and we love our BBQ. The only thing that separates this idea is what is good, even great bbq. This is subjective and varies from person to person. And you know what they say about opinions. "Bad to the Bone" a new bbq food truck in Southtown adds to that conversation with good flavors. It's basically a food truck that offers a simple menu of brisket, chicken, pork and sausage. From these you can choose a plate with one, two or three meats. With it comes your choice of two sides. For example they have a baked potato casserole and a macaroni filled with brisket. In addition they make bbq sandwiches but are in the process of fine tuning their menu. The prices are what you would expect from a food truck crafting bbq, well within range of what other places charge. I tried their three meats plate, a healthy portion I might add, which was really good. Some people prefer their brisket dry. However theirs was tender, smokey and juicy. Just the way I like mine. Not to be outdone the sausage and pulled pork choices were equally as good, rounding out the experience. I would remiss if I didn't include that they have outdoor seating, with accompanying bottles of bbq sauce on each table. While I really enjoyed all the items I felt the potato casserole could've benefited from a bit more seasoning. Either way "Bad to the Bone" delivered on all fronts. I like the (family)friendly vibe accentuated by country music. All the flavors are informed by people serious about barbecuing. The owners looks like they ride Harley's to work but are super friendly. Men: You can grunt while you eat. Ladies: Well, I guess a little bbq sauce on your face never hurt anyone. If you happen to be in Southtown for First Friday or just riding your Bird I would seek this food truck out. ps. Although it's b.y.o.b they do offer complimentary beer for customers.

Met Nico, behind the counter, and apparently R&R BBQ is new and has only been open for 3-4 months. Her family has owned The Meat Market adjacent to the BBQ joint forever. She suggested the brisket as top choice and we added a few pork spareribs. $20 for 1lb of brisket, bread, bbq sauce, onions, and pickles , what a deal! The additional pork spareribs were only a few dollars more. The pork ribs were the best I've ever had so far. Literally fall off the bone and melt in your mouth deliciousness. The sliced brisket was tender, but the ribs shined. The pickles and onions were tangy and dilly, and the BBQ sauce had a vinegar base, but paired with well with proteins. She also let us know that their homemade jerky and parisa will be coming soon. Parisa? What is parisa you may ask....a cured meat mixed with cheese, spices, onions, and peppers and served on crackers.
