Placed an order by phone and I didn't get a detailed receipt so I cannot say how much I paid for each item (total cost $90) but I got 1lb of brisket, 1/2lb of Turkey, 1 sausage link and a whole chicken. Also ordered regular sides (which is one serving) of creamed corn, green beans, potato salad and macaroni. We did have to oh at the time of the order but it was ready for pick up in 10 mins. Overall the quantity of food was great. We were 4 adults and all ate until we were full and even had leftovers for lunch the next day. My family visited Dee Willie's BBQ on Zarzamora and the meal was so-so. The cream corn was made with too much flour as a thickner, but spoke with the owner, offered a suggestion and he repaired the cream corn. The mac & cheese was to dry, the owner repaired the mac & cheese. And ooooh the brisket! I asked for marble brisket and the brisket I received was not marble, was dry, was not tender and no taste. I spoke with the owner and he took my plate back, went to the kitchen, returned with THE REAL JUICY BRISKET & explained that there is two brisket cuts (which I did not know). The ribs my daughter ordered, did not look like the advertised Baby Back Ribs. The ribs were, I guess pork, flat, no taste and just not right. But, the owner gave me a sample of the smoked turkey meat and THAT was the icing on the cake! The smoked turkey meat was glistening with juice, tasted superb, and had an amazing flavor. Overall, the owner repaired what needed to be corrected, was very empathetic and polite. I would not return, but of course other people's palette is different from my palette. I stopped by this little smokehouse on my lunch break at work and was pleasantly surprised. I got the one meat plate with the mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole. The brisket wasn't that good but for 15$ plate it wasn't bad. The casserole was amazing tho and I'd recommend it to anyone. The mac and cheese is standard, it's alright. This smokehouse isn't perfect but it's cheaper than a regular smokehouse so i'd stop here again especially when i'm in the mood for brisket but don't want to break the bank to get it. read more

There were lots of cars in the parking lot but we were seated fast and our server Danielle quickly attended to us. We ordered a loaded baked potato with chopped brisket and baby back ribs. Then for dessert we got a pecan cobbler and a peach cobbler. The baked potato was soft and full of all the fixings and topped with a heaping serving of chopped brisket. I went here at 3:30 pm yesterday and order a fully loaded baked potato with brisket, it was around 12 dollars for the price but it took 25 minutes too come out. As we got it, went back to the car, and opened it the potato looked very hard the brisket was just slightly on there, I used my fork and immediately noticed the potato was hard as rock and not ready, the brisket was good but lacked of flavor and there's no sour cream. I didn't care about the sour cream the it looked so bad we didn't even eat it. We tried to go inside to take it back but it was too packed inside so we left unsatisfied and threw it away. I wish I can talk to the manager and fix this since my mom is in a wheelchair and wanted to try something new. read more

After hearing about this place, I decided to take a shot... First of all, I dove right into the "All You Can Eat" deal - just to try a little of everything. The two stars of this show were: the ribs and the turkey! For the AYCE, don't expect Original Blacks-level, but if you're a BIG EATER it is a steal at just under $30! Next, the sides. My favorite has to be their green beans and pinto beans. So, delicious, so full of taste and just perfectly seasoned! Don't get me wrong, the other sides were good as well, but these two are my top pick and easily two of the best beans I've ever had! Service was excellent and staff were very friendly! I would offer the establishment a recommendation of perhaps a bit more seasoning on the brisket (although moisture and tenderness were on point!) and possibly two more varieties of bbq sauces to offer (maybe a mustard-based and a spicy??). We were heading out for dinner a little later than usual so decided to try a new place. Honestly the exterior was sketchy and the interior almost as bad. There was a smell of old places where the ventilation isn't so good. I'm glad I went inside. Our waitress was sweet, though she left before we got our food. The other waitstaff were just as kind and helpful. The best thing was the meat. Fall off the bone tender brisket and ribs. Not many BBQ places get their meat this tender. I asked for moist meat, to me that means fatty and dripping. My companion asked for the regular and he said his was definitely drier than mine. Mine had zero fat and wasn't as moist as I love it, but it's all about the cuts of meat you have. The sides were tasty but a little disappointing. It was the smallest amount of cream corn I've ever gotten at a BBQ place. It would have helped to be in a little bowl rather than on the divided plate we were given. The sweet potato casserole was good. The serving size for it was more reasonable. The Mac and cheese wasn't severely over cooked like at most BBQ places. My other companion had brisket nachos. It was a good price for a nice serving. The chips were a little old as was the bread we were given for our meat. I think both had been left sitting out. You know how bread and chips are... I was very excited about trying the "Dino Rib" from this location, since many places don't offer this item and I was not going to drive all the way to Lockhart, Tx to get one. When I arrived, the place was really empty for being Saturday 12:00 pm (but then again it was Black Friday Weekend). I ordered a Dino Rib, 1/4 lb. of lean brisket and half a sausage link. The Dino Rib was mainly fat and very bland tasting. I don't even think it was smoked, but o-well. The brisket was ok and the only thing that had a somewhat flavor was the sausage link. Overall, I wish I had not spent so much money for such a not-so-great purchase. The only difference between Texas D Willie's Smokehouse and Bill Miller's BBQ is the Dino Rib. If Bill Miller's offered Dino Ribs I would have saved gas and just gone to the local joint, but I guess live and learn... read more

We were visiting San Antonio from San Diego this was literally our first stop after pu rental car at airport. I did my homework had my top 10 BBQ spots in San Antonio picked out knowing I couldn't hit them all in a week I definitely wanted to get my fill on this buffet! Well I gotta say it didn't disappoint I had 2 full 3 meat plates and 6 sides during my meal. I had the brisket, jalapeño sausage, pork ribs, turkey and chicken . The sides were all fantastic too had the mac & cheese , tater salad, cream corn, beans, but the star of the show was the sweet potato casserole had that twice amazing! The hostess was very friendly and we talked for a bit. My family had 2 meat combo plates and were also very satisfied with their meals. I just wished I could have eaten more cant eat like I use to! I ordered to go, with the cashier's recommendations on portion sizes for 5. Made sure to ask about pickles and onions etc. Many issues. They missed the fact that I ordered iced tea and when I pointed this out they were confused on what to do. Like where the gallon jugs were kept. The tea was warm definitely nothing iced about it. They only gave two small containers of bbq sauce, utensils for two, no onions. Total price with tip was over $100 and they are skimping on these things. I got the baby back ribs with sweet potato casserole and cream corn. AMAZING BBQ!! The meat falls off the bone and is seasoned perfectly. The sweet potatoes remind me of thanksgiving. Let me start off by saying, i grew up eating barbecue to the point, where I'm pretty sure one of my first meals was a beef rib. My dad always told me that good barbecue doesn't need sauce- all the flavor comes from the meat and how you season and marinate it. Now as I've gotten older, I still stand by what he said, but I also enjoy a good saucy rib every once in a while. D Willies food is one of those where the meat alone stands out and makes a delectable statement. I ordered the 3 meat, and chose brisket, ribs, and chicken... staples of any worthy bbq joint, in addition to sides of Mac n cheese and potato salad. The brisket was marbled, extremely juicy and tender with a nice amount of char to provide that extra smokey note. The pork ribs were fall off the bone and though I did add a bit of sauce out of curiosity, the flavor of the rib itself was still very tasty. As for the chicken quarter, it checked the most necessary of boxes with moist and flavorful dark meat! Of course I couldn't leave without taking home one of their Dino ribs (for our dog of course ) and to our delight we were pleasantly surprised with this "Dino" rib and how big/much it really came out to!! 10/10 food and customer service!
