Haven't been in ages. This was one of my favs for many yrs! I was a two time a week customer. Then they changed ownership. Walked in saw the outrageous lunch prices and left. That being said I was on Yelp and saw the delicious looking dinners and made plans for a lunch at the Asia Restaurant. I arrived the next day at lunch time. The parking lot was empty thinking I'm early but saw a large white note on the door. Had to read it...poof they were locked out of their business...closed! Smelled like old house and roaches, we ordered the combination plates and I had gotten beef and broccoli and lemon chicken and my husband got Mongolian beef and orange chicken. My lemon chicken was drenched in beef and broccoli sauce and the lemon sauce didn't taste like lemon at all not sure what to describe it as. They packed both of our rice portions together in a separate plate. The orange chicken just tasted like straight orange peel and felt like I was chewing on plastic. What was advertised as crab meat rangoons didn't have crab meat at all. Only gets two starts cause the flavor over all of the beef and broccoli and Mongolian beef was decent. read more

Came for a late lunch with my mother. Prices on the food are reasonable and offer a wide variety of options. The sesame chicken sauce was good, it suggested it was spicy but I didn't pick up on any spicy taste. This place has truly been here as long as I can remember. I remember going there many years ago, but since I don't eat Chinese regularly, I never went back. I met a friend there last night and was very happy with my food. I ordered the walnut shrimp. It came with a side of rice and broccoli. It was a good portion and the shrimps were big. Their menu is extensive. I am sure everyone can find something they would like there. The restaurant is pretty big. You really can't tell from the outside. There was a steady flow of patrons. Make sure you check your bank charges. Paid a tip in cash but when I checked the bank they had added nearly 30% to my ticket price. When I complained they said it was an honest mistake. Gave me the over charge in cash back. Food was not very good either. Won't be going back. read more

PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE!! I ordered carry out and found a maggot in my food. I tried calling the restaurant and I received the worst treatment from Steve. He kept hanging up on me and informed that the owner or Management does not receive any type of phone calls. I explained the situation and was asked to bring maggot in because he couldn't believe that I had a maggot in my food. The place was in a strip mall with plenty of parking. I went inside on a Sunday evening and there was one family there. The guy behind the counter was not friendly at all. I ordered my food to go, and it was out very fast. The food was average at best and they got my order wrong. I'm not upset because that happens all the time. Unsure if I went on an off day but I ordered the combination lo mein thick noodle. The food was pale and bland, no color to it and noodles were over cooked. Price for it was about $16 for mostly noodles. First impressions are a lasting impression. Not the best. Although they were pleasant and nice the food could have been better. read more

I don't profess to be an expert on Chinese food. But I know what I like. What I don't like is crab rangoon where the filling is solid as if it didn't heat through. Or Cashew Chicken and beaded pork that have no definable flavor profile. Or flavorless sweet and sour sauce for the pork that looks like a store bought syrup with an extra tablespoon of red dye #5. I will say the pork fried rice had okay flavor, but was extremely dry. And the egg flour soup was one of the yolkiest I've ever had (that's not a compliment). My wife and son shared the same opinion of the rangoons, fried rice, and soup. My wife did say that her Stir Fry Yakisoba with beef was above average. And my son said his Kung Pao Chicken was decent, but lacked the Pao (spice). If we try it again in the future, maybe I'll try one of their "Popular " dishes. But in my opinion, you should be able to make anything on your menu delicious. You've got to really offend me to get a 1, and my family's meals saved this from being a 2. Sadly, this still might be a top 5 'Chinese' meal in the 6+ years we've been in San Antonio. Why is it so hard to find good Chinese food here? read more

When arriving we were greeted warmly, there wasn't many costumers as it was a bit later (there should've been more). we got seated and we got our drinks fast, the waiter was verry nice, giving us recommendations, and popular dishes. We got the appetizer wings, and the crab Rangoon. The wings were very delicious, having a bread crumbs , and onions on them. the crab Rangoons were very warm, and delicious, with a good side portion of sweet and sour sauce. For my meal i upgraded it to get beef with broccole, mixed vegiables with a sauce., steamed rice, and a speing roll. The beef was verry good, having a nice flavor, The broccoli had a verry rich delicious flavor with a suace on tip. the mixed vegiables were divone, having a great mix of vegiables , and a delicious sauce. The spring roll was verry warm with a taste that brought back memory's. The customer service was amazing, talking to us, recomending food, and being very respectful. The building was very beautifuly decorated, and open, having multiple rooms. The decor was beauful, my family and I spent a long time looking at the walls. This place is incredible. The chef specials are fantastic, always fresh, generous, AND fairly priced. There's quite a bit of variety here as well, with the chefs playing around in the kitchen. There really is NO WRONG option. I try something different here every week. I visit every Friday evening after work, and it always hits the spot. Something this place has that other restaurants don't is the best hot oil. It actually has flavor, but not toooo spicy. I prefer the hot and sour soup here than other places as well. I recommend the Double Flavor Beef and Shrimp - Sechuan Style... So good if you like spicy food. The restaurant is very clean and never has any foul odors. The restrooms are quite small but always stocked and clean as well. Just be careful with the sink faucet. It shoots our fast! The service is spot on, but I'm biased since I come all the time. Make sure to get in early to beat the evening rush. Lastly, there's a mexican bakery in the same lot for dessert, so this place makes for an amazing (AND quite economical) choice for dinner dates and family gatherings. read more

First time for take out and was sadly disappointed. The hot and sour soup looked and tasted more like egg drop soup. Chicken teriyaki did NOT look or taste like chicken teriyaki. My husband said it was more like bland chicken with some sauce poured over it. Sweet and sour pork was just deep fried pork nuggets with some sauce to pour over it. The egg rolls were fair Shrimp Lo Main was terrible The lemon chicken looked tasty but our appetites were ruined when a little black big ran out from under the chicken and across the table. As always I ordered my favorite meal here which is the Choice kf 2 pieces Special combination plate with Sesame Chicken & sichuan shrimp with fried rice and eggroll. It was so delightful and I love that the sesame chicken battery to chicken ratio. There is a lot of chicken and not a bunch of batter. The sauce is on point of sweet salty and sour. I love their hot and sour soup here that comes with the crispy wontons. The soup is spicy and creeps up the spice level as you eat! Service is great and fast here. The food came out hot. The restaurant was a little bit stuffy. I think the air conditioner was not set to the coolest setting. There is plenty of tables there and it looks like they redecorated since I've been there last. :) they have a pretty big menu and honestly I have not tried all the items on the menu. Szechuan chicken and lemon chicken were yummy, however Kung Pao chicken was so so. Portion sizes were huge and filled the to go box. I came in with a textbook to read and one of the busses wiped down the table right after seating me in it. This didn't bother me but some sweet and sour sauce, from the previous customer, got on my textbook; to be fair I missed the sweet and sour sauce on the table because it was camouflaged with the Chinese Zodiac laying under the plastic. Aside from that, the food was pretty good and I had no problem with it. The fried rice was okay though but I had no problem eating it though, felt like it could've used more flavor. We went for a late lunch at 3:30 on a Friday. We were the only ones in the restaurant besides the staff. He ordered the lemon chicken with fried rice & crabmeat Rangoon. I had the chicken vegetables with steamed rice & a spring roll. The food came out hot & tasty! He was saying there was so much chicken on his plate that was very crispy on the outside & tender inside. The crabmeat Rangoon's were very large & very good. My chicken & vegetables were so good, the chicken was velvety and the vegetables were crisp & cut in bite size pieces. I was happy to see it wasn't overloaded with onions like some other places I've been before. The steamed rice was tender & the spring roll tasted great. Another couple came after we were seated.
