Pretty good classic American Chinese food. Definitely your mom and Pop shop nothing too exquisitely fancy but a good thing for your buck!

Monday through Saturday lunch specials until 3pm $10.50 includes tea, soup rice and egg roll. Dim sum available until 5 pm Oolong , jasmine or green tea available. They have duck , chicken feet, beef tripe and frog legs. Seasonal and posted on menu boards. Service is attentive, didn't have to signal. No booths but a few family style tables with lazy Susan carousel for the food. I like this place when food is pharmacy and a hot pot is warranted.

The food is excellent and fresh, large menu with a variety of categories. Some of our favorites are the Twice Cooked Pork Belly, Salt & Pepper Fish, Beef Soup, Pea Sprouts with Garlic, and Mapo Tofu but there's so much more to explore on the menu. Large dining room which can accommodate large groups. The service is excellent as well.

Everything was fantastic. The service was fast, virtually no wait time. The food comes out hot and ready to eat. Me and My Girlfriend Rosana ordered the Spicy sautéed sichuan chicken and Sautéed greens beans. I also ordered the orange chicken with Crab Rangoons. The first dish was amazing. The noodles with the spicy sautéed chicken went together amazingly and complimented the green beans and left a great after taste. The orange chicken came with broccoli and steam rice, and both were hot tasty and delicious! This is the best experience we have had in a while so i had to make my first post this one. This restaurant had a great atmosphere and ambiance. They made sure we were served and satisfied while we were eating. I will definitely go back. It was amazing :)

Lunch specials from Monday to Saturday. Food is good. Also serve dim sum and hotpot. Definitely will come back again. Service is good. Plenty of space to sit. The atmosphere is nice.

Food is good. Check it out! I can vouch for crispy spicy chicken, lo mein, egg drop soup, and hot and sour soup. Haven't gotten a chance to try dim sum yet. And haven't been in the mood for hot pot since it's hot in Texas

We tried the beef tripe, boiled fish in stew, and fried eggplant. Service was fast and friendly. They refilled our waters many times! The fried eggplant was my favorite. The texture was soft but still had form. It was slightly sweet! The beef tripe was bouncy and tasty. I also liked the boiled fish stew. There were lots of cabbage in the stew.

I will keep on coming back to brag about my favorite restaurant in town! Never disappoints! This restaurant is a full on experience! From unique dishes to the service... to the flavors! I think I have been here over 50 times already and my love for it grows at each visit!

We wanna love this place. The board menu seems to be the best part of the menu but we came in to try the dim sum, it wasn't terrible but a $120 lunch for 4 it was disappointing sadly...the snow pea leave were the only part of lunch that was good and it came with steamed rice which we had to ask for then ended up with two and told we'd be charged for it even tho we only asked for what it came with...service was good but i wouldn't recommend the dimsum at all

Still my absolute favorite restaurant in San Antonio! I've been coming here for 4 years and I order the crispy spicy fish and the green beans. My boyfriend orders the twice cooked pork and the dry pot chicken and we eat all of this with white rice. It is absolutely fantastic every single time. The spicy cumin lamb, and the steamed cabbage are more of our favorites, but we can't eat so much food. It's family style serving!

    ### Mixed Experience at Sichuan Garden First time here, and the restaurant wasn't crowded. The place, including the restrooms, were clean and well-maintained. The waiters were pleasant. However, before our food came out, one of the staff members asked my sister and husband to move their baby to another seat because that's where they serve, which was very odd and rude. The egg drop soup and crispies could use some improvement, but the main dishes were very good. We had General Tso's chicken (both spicy and non-spicy), lemon chicken, sesame chicken, white rice, and fried rice. We were very happy with the food, and the portions were generous. Overall, a mixed experience.

The food was really good and there wasn't a wait for a weekday lunch. I ordered the spicy crispy chicken, egg plant with garlic, broccoli and beef, and spicy boiled fish. I think my favorite dish was the spicy crispy chicken and after that the spicy boiled fish. For 3 people, we ordered 4 dishes and it was a lot, I think we would have been fine with just 3 dishes. Some of the entrees also came with a soup which I got egg drop soup and it was really good as well. I think the service was a bit slower but the waiter was nice.

This place was great! Authentic chinese food. Really spicy, you have to be able to handle spicy!! Everything was great and portions were decent. We had stuff to pack so ate more after. Waitress/waiter were very attentive. Water was filled multiple times. Overall clean and great place. Will be back soon!

Is the restaurant closed for lunar new year?

Is the hot pot price for a whole table or will each person get charged the price?

It buys you one very large hot pot, enough for several people.

I tried to dine in Saturday night, but the host informed me the dining room was closed. There were people seated, eating. Your yelp says you close at 10:00. Have you adjusted your hours here on yelp?

What time did you show up? If it was at or after 9pm, that would be expected at any restaurant, as "closed" usually means closed and cleaning up for tomorrow. After 9 wouldn't allow enough time for proper cooking, service, etc.

Is this restaurant open through the covid-19 crisis? We've called 12 times and it rings and goes to voicemail.

It has been closed the last few time I drove by

Is this restaurant still open? Tried calling multiple times for takeout order but no answer.

    Sorry, don't know.

What are the "healthiest" dishes or methods of cooking on the menu?

I believe they are all healthy. I'm guessing those without meat are healthier. They have several without meat dishes.

    Do they deliver?

At this time we do not deliver.

Do they still serve Hot Pot?

Yes my friend. We still do.

Does this place have xiao long bao? If so, does the soup actually stay inside?

If they have it, it's not on the menu.

Does this restaurant have a gluten free option?

I would like to start by saying this is an important question. I don't know the menu that well but I think you can eat anything you want!… Read more

Is ur hot pot authentic sichuan style ( as in hot and spicy ? ) not some americanized version but real ? Iived in china b4 and know the difference. And how much is it ? Come with the burner at the table?

Yes, our hot pot can be spicy, regular broth or both. I think it is as authentic as it can be. We have a hot pot combo for 39.99, and pick-your-own. Yes there will be a burner at the table. Thank you.

    Is this restaurant BYOB?

Sichuan Garden is no longer BYOB. They now sell beer and wine and are quite rude if you bring your own and didn't know this.

Looking to come and get takeout but we dont see your menu listed. Or am i missing it?

Hi, Dawn. There should a menu section... If you can't find it, look into the picture section, there is menu there.

I moved from east coast and have yet to find similar style of east coast type Chinese food. How does this place compare if anyone is familiar with east coast Chinese food?

The Sichuan Province is in central China and they're known for their chili peppers and "ma-la" spice, that is, literally a numbing spice. It's probably toned down compared to what you get in Sichuan, but no idea how it can compare to what east coast… Read more

What gluten free items are on menu?

Not at the moment but we can make request to the chef on several dishes. Most dishes are impossible to make it gluten free... according to our recipes. Cheng Tan

I ordered the crispy dumplings (pork) and spring rolls as appetizers, and the spicy noodle soup as my entree. My server came to take my order, and brought me the items as they were ready. The entree came out before the appetizers. The spicy noodle soup was spicy (as named) and it was good, but it was incredibly oily and the noodles were overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

It was the in between time of late lunch 2:30-3pm so we thought we would miss the Sunday afternoon church rush. The parking lot and restaurant was full but didn't let it scare us. Shrimp Shumai and pork bao buns were so good. My kids asked for seconds We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken, spicy eggplant/tofu, shrimp& broccoli and the combination fried rice. My daughter and I cannot recommend this restaurant. It was better 15 years ago…read more It is too westernize now; meaning the food is more cater/made for western taste. When you walk in up to the restaurant, the view of ponds with large koi fish was very welcoming, however as soon as you open the door/walk in...it's a chaos of sports on tv and western music that will burst your burst your tranquility from the front of the restaurant. The restaurant was busy since it was lunch. We were seated right away. However it took the waitress a few before knowledge our small table. The waitress was in a hurry and look like she already had a bad day. She asked quickly what we would like the drink and we said water and hot tea but ask what type of tea they have? She mumble something I could not understand. So my daughter ask for green tea. We started off with appetizer as usual. Shrimp toast, chicken wrap, Asian bbq ribs then a cup of hot & sour soup. Main dish were Moo Shu Pork and Mongolian beef. Soup came out first...it was lukewarm. Cup was hot but soup was lukewarm. It was vinegary and salty. This is the first time I had seen/tasted imitation crab meat in a hot and sour soup. I'd flag the waitress down to let her know the soup was cold and if she can bring me another or warm it up for me. She gave me an annoying look and took the soup back to the kitchen. The Asian bbq ribs come out then the shrimp toast a few minutes later. The shrimp toast looks appealing. The shrimp were whole shrimp on top of bread, fried bread. It was ok...no real taste and a bit greasy. There were too much honey and chewy/tough for the Asian ribs. My soup comes back hot to touch... which means it was microwave...but not an issues; what was is ...it was still lukewarm soup. I try to finish it but couldn't. Soup needs to be hot; especially hot & sour soup. The chicken lettuce wrap was delivered. It was again salty; no real taste, except for the salt. A lot of mushrooms over powering the this dish. Keep in mind we had a small table and dishes are pilling up. It took a few before anyone came to pickup the plates. Half way through our appetizer, the waitress dropped off Togo boxes with a bag right after the chicken wrap was dropped off.... Staying it's for later. So we went ahead and packup the appetizers into the Togo boxes to make room. The main dishes came out about 10 minutes later. My daughter was very surprised by her Mongolian beef. It looks more like pepper steak then Mongolian beef. Most Mongolian beef are cook with green onions, yellow onion, garlic, sesame seeds and large slices of beef...some with a little sauce other dry so this is a the first for us to see a Mongolian beef looks like that. It was again too salty. There was more bell pepper than beef. The beef was slice small. The moo shu pork come out already wrap?? Which confuse me. Most of the time the thin rice pancake is on the side and moo shu pork is a little sweet and savory that comes with plum sauce so you can spread as little or lot of plum sauce into the rice pancake then top it off with moo shu pork. Since it was all roll up...it was very messy trying to pull it open to put the plum sauce. The dish lack favors...it had a char like taste. Usually moo shu pork is very flavorful and fill with flavorful juice from the ingredients like cabbages, bamboo, onion, mushrooms and eggs. There was no favor except a char taste. I have eaten here before a long time ago and it's definitely not the same taste/food and experience. We pack the food home so we can get a second opinion from other family members and the results were the same. I would never recommend for anyone looking for Asian cuisine. But if you like America/Asian cuisine/atmosphere then this is a place for you.
