    Beef with Garlic Sauce
    Scarlett T.

Generous portions, great value, and tasty flavors! Best dish I've had at Chin's Chinese Kitchen is the House Special Fried Rice! The best Chinese fried rice I ever had! What makes it special is the Smokey soy and flavor of the fried rice you do not get from other places! It's the Magic and love the chef put in to making the rice also known as ....WOK Fire/ WOK Action! Good amount of shrimp in the rice. The meat was moist and egg was still soft, not dried out. The fresh bean sprout and green onion in the rice gave a pop of crunch and an absolute texture delight! Balance of flavors and a must try! :) Beef Lo mien: was a little salty and had a lot of lo mien noodles. I wish there was more veggies in it. If you are in the mood for noodles this is definitely the dish for you! Beef with Garlic Sauce was oddly overwhelmingly sweet. First time ordering this dish to try but I don't believe it's supposed to be that sweet. I couldn't taste any of the garlic and was left very confused about this dish. I assumed garlic sauce meant it was garlicky but it wasn't. The little mini corn looking veggie in the dish....when you bite into it and chew... it had a sour after taste. I've had that veggie before and I never tasted that before. Not sure what's going on there but I personally won't try this dish again. All orders was generous portions with fair prices.

Very good! The fried rice is very good and worth a try. It's full of meat and veggies and not bland like a lot of other restaurants.

This is BS. It's a relevant question because I'm concerned about my health & well-being but evidently Yelp is more concerned with my "tone."

I'm so torn when it comes to Chin's... don't get me wrong, they have the BEST (and I'm talking the BEST) most delicious lemon chicken I have ever had in my life! My other half LOVES their mei ho fun (funny name) dishes and craves them at least 2 days out of the week, as do I their lemon chicken. But let me tell you about the last time I went to pick up an order from there... GNATS! Little freakin' GNATS flying around the front counter where you pay. Was this just a fluke? Is the fact that the door opens and closes all day a factor? I. Don't. Know! But GOD FORBID I try to ask a question about their health score without Yelp sending me an email that my question was removed because of the "tone" of my question. The TONE??? (1) in no way was I being condescending (2) it was a LEGIT question due to the fact that their health score is not posted here on Yelp nor was I able to find them on SA Metro Health's restaurant scores website and (3) idk about you but I don't like GNATS in my food, y'all! How does the kitchen look if there's gnats up front? Is it clean?? Is it a pig sty??? Is it a portal to another dimension???? Inquiring minds would desperately like to know.... Anywho, I rated them a 4 simply to give them the benefit of the doubt, so as not to come off with a negative "TONE" (give me a break, what ever happened to freedom of speech?) and because of that EPIC lemon chicken, but if I go back there and see GNATS one more time then you best believe these stars are dropping from 4 down to 1 and I will never go back there ever again. No matter how nice and friendly the cashier lady is. And no matter how close it to home. And no matter how freakin' delicious that lemon chicken is. No!

    No flavored fried wontons

No flavor on the fried wontons. Lemon chicken was dry and hard. My patient was very disappointed on his food also.

Thoroughly impressed. Picked for our office on today. Lunch was 6.50 a 7.00 per plate. Came with egg roll or Rangoon, soup and rice. Great portion size. Very fast and everything was fresh and hot. 100 percent of who ordered loved what they had. Super sprites we had not tried this place before being that they are so close to us. Highly recommend trying them out. Light on your pocket. Heavy in your stomach. I literally had to take 3 breaks from my lo mein. So much food but gotta watch my lady lumps you know. Thanks y'all.

I really enjoyed the House Special Mei Fun! It was my first time trying rice noodles and now I'm hooked!

Was across the way at Moroccan Bites when I looked across and noticed the " under new management" sign. After my meal, went across and ordered some take out. They've only been open 3 weeks - I think previous place was called Ping's maybe? Anyway, they were out of string beans so got the mixed vegetables instead with fried rice and sm hot & sour soup. Only sampled each as I was well past stuffed from my Moroccan Bites sortie. Was pleasantly surprised by all, especially the mixed veggies. They were in a very tasty brown sauce, yum yum. Inside is small but clean and bright red. Service greeted me smiling and was friendly throughout. Definitely interested in trying other dishes soon.

Didn't like the taste Got chicken and broccoli Found hair in my soup before even opening conta

The fried rice tasted like brown unseasoned rice, the beef and Beef with Broccoli tasted bad & I'm not a picky eater....

I never leave bad reviews but this was terrible. We ordered our food and it was horrible. I don't normally discard a whole plate away but the flavor was gross, the texture was weird. My beef and broccoli literally tasted like dog food. Idk what happened in the kitchen but we wasted money and time ordering this food.

I ordered the crispy dumplings (pork) and spring rolls as appetizers, and the spicy noodle soup as my entree. My server came to take my order, and brought me the items as they were ready. The entree came out before the appetizers. The spicy noodle soup was spicy (as named) and it was good, but it was incredibly oily and the noodles were overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

We noticed the decor had changed (yes, I said it had been many years) and it was quite nice! We were seated promptly and placed our drink order (tea came with lunch). We ordered Rangoon as a starter. The lunch specials came with soup and egg roll, and fried rice. DH ordered his litmus test dish for American style Chinese- General Tso chicken. The portion was generous. The sauce was tasty. The chicken pieces tasted like your average frozen nuggets tossed in sauce. It's that familiar "seasoning" to the chicken and coating- iykyk. Not bad at all, just not the best. He enjoyed his egg drop soup. I opted for Hunan Beef. The sauce was thicker than I prefer, with an almost gelatinous consistency. The hot and sour soup was nice, a little more sour than hot. We both thought the fried rice that came with lunch was a little bland. Maybe the entree version is better? Each special was under $10, and it's definitely a great value.

Walked in and waited for a few minutes before someone handed us menus and told us to sit wherever. Just handed us menus...in a kind of "just go sit down kinda way". Not real friendly. The appetizer we ordered (veggie steamed dumplings) came out with one less dumpling than promised on the menu. My wife's noodles were nothing special, as was my spicy/numbing pot. I felt my pot in particular, was over-loaded with huge chunks of veggies that could have been better chopped as to be more manageable. More chicken and beef in that chicken and beef pot, too, please ... The person waiting on us, if you could call it that, was not personable and could not have cared less about interacting. His drive by meal drop-offs were the epitome of antisocial. Probably won't return.

It was the in between time of late lunch 2:30-3pm so we thought we would miss the Sunday afternoon church rush. The parking lot and restaurant was full but didn't let it scare us. Only had to wait 5 mins. Don't let the full restaurant fool you. The wait staff checks in often and moves tables very fast. Pro tip- you can hang outside and check out the koi fish in the pond to kill some time Sat down and drinks came out fast ordered dim sum which came out in the cute steam baskets first. Shrimp Shumai and pork bao buns were so good. My kids asked for seconds We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken, spicy eggplant/tofu, shrimp& broccoli and the combination fried rice. Everything was perfectly seasoned with the exception of the sweet and sour chicken. It was very bland. Next time I want to order the orange peel chicken instead. Looked good and now we know! So much food we'll have leftovers for a few days. Score!

My daughter and I cannot recommend this restaurant. It was better 15 years ago…read more It is too westernize now; meaning the food is more cater/made for western taste. When you walk in up to the restaurant, the view of ponds with large koi fish was very welcoming, however as soon as you open the door/walk in...it's a chaos of sports on tv and western music that will burst your burst your tranquility from the front of the restaurant. The restaurant was busy since it was lunch. We were seated right away. However it took the waitress a few before knowledge our small table. The waitress was in a hurry and look like she already had a bad day. She asked quickly what we would like the drink and we said water and hot tea but ask what type of tea they have? She mumble something I could not understand. So my daughter ask for green tea. We started off with appetizer as usual. Shrimp toast, chicken wrap, Asian bbq ribs then a cup of hot & sour soup. Main dish were Moo Shu Pork and Mongolian beef. Soup came out first...it was lukewarm. Cup was hot but soup was lukewarm. It was vinegary and salty. This is the first time I had seen/tasted imitation crab meat in a hot and sour soup. I'd flag the waitress down to let her know the soup was cold and if she can bring me another or warm it up for me. She gave me an annoying look and took the soup back to the kitchen. The Asian bbq ribs come out then the shrimp toast a few minutes later. The shrimp toast looks appealing. The shrimp were whole shrimp on top of bread, fried bread. It was ok...no real taste and a bit greasy. There were too much honey and chewy/tough for the Asian ribs. My soup comes back hot to touch... which means it was microwave...but not an issues; what was is ...it was still lukewarm soup. I try to finish it but couldn't. Soup needs to be hot; especially hot & sour soup. The chicken lettuce wrap was delivered. It was again salty; no real taste, except for the salt. A lot of mushrooms over powering the this dish. Keep in mind we had a small table and dishes are pilling up. It took a few before anyone came to pickup the plates. Half way through our appetizer, the waitress dropped off Togo boxes with a bag right after the chicken wrap was dropped off.... Staying it's for later. So we went ahead and packup the appetizers into the Togo boxes to make room. The main dishes came out about 10 minutes later. My daughter was very surprised by her Mongolian beef. It looks more like pepper steak then Mongolian beef. Most Mongolian beef are cook with green onions, yellow onion, garlic, sesame seeds and large slices of beef...some with a little sauce other dry so this is a the first for us to see a Mongolian beef looks like that. It was again too salty. There was more bell pepper than beef. The beef was slice small. The moo shu pork come out already wrap?? Which confuse me. Most of the time the thin rice pancake is on the side and moo shu pork is a little sweet and savory that comes with plum sauce so you can spread as little or lot of plum sauce into the rice pancake then top it off with moo shu pork. Since it was all roll up...it was very messy trying to pull it open to put the plum sauce. The dish lack favors...it had a char like taste. Usually moo shu pork is very flavorful and fill with flavorful juice from the ingredients like cabbages, bamboo, onion, mushrooms and eggs. There was no favor except a char taste. I have eaten here before a long time ago and it's definitely not the same taste/food and experience. We pack the food home so we can get a second opinion from other family members and the results were the same. I would never recommend for anyone looking for Asian cuisine. But if you like America/Asian cuisine/atmosphere then this is a place for you.
