Wow! Can't believe this place isn't more popular, I visited with a friend a few days ago and had a great experience. They have a large menu selection of drinks, pho, meat dishes, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes. We started with some appetizers which came out quickly despite the restaurant being quite full and they were very filling and delicious. We also got entrees which came out shortly after the appetizers. Everything was delicious and had great flavors. All the food that we got was only about $50 for three large appetizers, boba, coffee, and two entrees. In comparison to most places this was great deal! First off don't let the unassuming location fool you! This place earned solid top marks for almost all the food we ordered. We started with yakimandu and crab rangoons. Both were 10/10. For mains we ordered Pho that had tripe,brisket and beef. Wish it had a bit more meat but a solid 8.5/10. Next was Sautéed Shaken Beef 10/10. Combination Fried Rice with Beef, Chicken & Shrimp 8.5/10. Taro was 9/10. The outlier was the Grilled Onion Korean Beef. This was a 1/10. There were only 4 small pieces of beef that were very tough and had very little edible meat. I do NOT recommend this at all! The other super positive was our waitress she was great! read more

Order from Pho Win on a regular basis. Food is always good. Ordered our normal order of chicken fried rice x2. Both orders showed up very short on food upon delivery. It was very noticeable, maybe 50% of what we normally get. Called to give the restaurant a chance to make it right and the response was "we will talk to the kitchen". Was hoping that the store would fix or offer some type of concession. But nothing. Everyone messes up, it happens. The recovery is important but Pho Win definitely fumbled this one. read more

This was honestly the worst Pho I've ever had. And on top of that, the chili oil is horrible! Pho- I ordered the pho with comes with all the meats, I think it was called the house pho. The beef tendon in there was like chewing rocks; they were TOUGH! Most times the beef tendon is my most favorite part of pho but it's as if they blanched them and put them directly in the pho. Chili oil- for starters, there's absolutely no spice to this oil. My wife ordered a meal and asked to make her spice level 10. Little did we know, this just meant them dumping a bunch of chili oil on her plate. So, she got a plate full of oil with absolutely no spice. I cannot emphasize how "no spice" was "NO SPICE!" Not even a slight jalapeño spice. This was upsetting because I normally use chili oil in my pho also but there was no purpose. I do not recommend this place at all. But on a good note, their water is AMAZING! I think they have a really good filter. read more

I was craving something tasty and wanted some Chinese food. Did a little search on Yelp and came across Pho Win. I had yet to try it so thought this would be a great opportunity. This place is located across Walmart on Dezavala road where the shops are at. I called in my order mixed veggies with tofu. The woman on the phone said it would take 10 minutes for my order to be ready. First of all I didn't think you could ever do Chinese food wrong but I believe they did. The food didn't taste like anything. The food was warm at best. I was beyond disappointed with the lack of flavor. People gave it good reviews but I don't know if I caught this place on a bad day or if it was what I ordered. Presentation wise it was like my food was a second thought. The rice was stiff and tasted like it had been sitting out for a few hours. Personally I wouldn't try this place again. I don't think what I got was worth what I paid. I was hoping to find a new restaurant to add to my list and instead this is one I will pass on. I've only been here once so far, but I'm impressed. Plenty of room in the restaurant, and decent parking. Reasonably fast and friendly service, which isn't all that common in many Vietnamese places. Standout grilled beef banh mi. Kudos for serving it hot and on the right bread. Also loved the grilled pork chop - a nicely marinated and grill-marked bone-in chop with a dollop of rice. Perfect lunch on a hot summer day. I'll adjust downward if on a second visit something is not on par, but for now, this place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. "Updated Review" Last week I decided to reward myself for dinner and wanted some Pad Thai. I had previously had a delicious entree of Pad Thai before from this location and preordered my meal over the phone. I ordered my Pad Thai at home and was literally 5 minutes down the street. I ordered Pad Thai without bean sprouts and I also wanted spring rolls, yet was given twice over fried egg rolls that were hard in the center. While I do like 'fast food" I was initially surprised that my food was ready when I arrived, but once I opened up the container on the way home I could see why. The Pad Thai was finished, but looked bleached white ( please reference my previous photo). It wasn't simmered in the sauce so that the noodles could absorb and take on the sauce and color. It looked as if it was soaked in the water prior to cooking and thrown into a watery sauce for a few seconds to warm. The eggs were watery from the sauce, but yet on a positive note, the chicken was tasty. Normally I check my food before I leave the restaurant, but had no doubt that this was prepared well because of my last visit. For $16.00, I felt shafted, disappointed and upset that Artea was my first choice, but I traveled a little further for this. The food in my opinion was thrown together and wasn't worth the drive back as I noticed another Pho place across the street. It was clear not much care was taken in preparing this meal... which I would call a sort of signature dish... yes I want it fast, but I still expect more at this price point. I was hungry and it was a struggle to eat the "egg rolls" ... the service definitely prompted me to look back through the posts to see if this location was under new management... To conclude, this was definitely not a "Win" for Pho Win and I am so dissatisfied that I took an "L" with the end result. The restaurant received a 3 for at least speed, but lost 2 stars for the lack of preparation. If you peruse their photos you'll know this is not the standard, but since they boxed it up, closed the bag and watched me swipe my card and walk away, this was now their product and standard . Unfortunately I probably won't be returning and luckily, Pho and Pad Thai can be found in several locations in San Antonio. Now don't get me wrong, if white, watery, without much taste is your thing, than this was the meal for you. Sorry, in these times quality is still the standard.. Ms. Foodie read more
