I can't believe i haven't updated my review before now! Recently papa and i had lunch here. He really likes the pork banh mi -- especially when he remembers to order without the jalapeño (teehee). I had just had lunch on a long flight, but could not pass up the spring rolls (chà giò) and summer rolls (goi cuon tom thit). The spring rolls are awesome! I had just had some really awful ones in Virginia and was so happy to sink my teeth into these. The food is fresh and hot; the service is very courteous; and the restaurant is clean and bright. We wanted to have dinner within the Stone Oak area and decided to try Pho Place. Dad had Fresh Lemonade, Hubby had Lemon Tea and I had Unsweet Tea. We started with the Vietnamese Rolls. Dad and I shared the Pho with Tendon. The tendon was good for me but could have been softer for Dad. Hubby had the Hot Rock Bowl Soup. Mostly good. This place has a different variety of food. I used to come here once a week to the previously owned restaurant, but I hadn't been back since summer. I stopped by today and noticed it's under new management with a new name. Unfortunately, the broth wasn't as tasty as it used to be. I love basil, and they used to give a generous bag of fresh veggies, but today we only got a few small pieces. The meat portion also seemed much smaller than before. It wasn't an awful experience, but it just wasn't the same -- probably won't be coming back. Best Pho I've had my boyfriend got the Spicy Steak Pho and it was super hot, but so good! If you love spicy pho I highly recommend the Spicy Steak Pho. I got the Flank/Steak Pho and broth was super delicious, I added the spicy chili oil and love the spice it gave! Omg also the egg rolls were phenomenal! Waitress was super nice and very helpful! Get the "hot stone" pho, beef ribs and ox tail in a steaming hot pot broth, you also get raw filet to cook in the broth yourself. Service is fast and ambiance is casual. Very underrated place. read more

Dumplings and pork rolls with the Hoisin sauce were top notch! I could eat my weight worth in those rolls. The special pho in the hot bowl was so cool. You get raw meat on the side and the bowl is so hot you watch the meat cook in the broth! Delicious. I got the Spicy Beef bowl, super good too. Really good quantity of noodles and beef! Not pictured my sister ordered a peach tea which she loved! Cleanliness could be improved, I dropped the reusable chopsticks and picked them up to find a large dust bunny with hair entangled on chop sticks. Cleanliness & service were below par. The tables were not cleaned for over 40 minutes,leaving nowhere to dine in. Only 1 person working at the cashier while serving food and one person in the kitchen. The food was just ok. Will probably look elsewhere to eat pho. read more

I don't know if we came the wrong day but man. Thought I try this place because of the reviews but man yall are wrong! Lack of flavor lack of everything. Even drinking water was disgusting. They ran out of pork...who runs out of pork? We should have left but decided to stay and try chicken instead. Bad choice. Dry flavorless chicken breast no authentic no vietnamese flavors at all. Look so plain and no char. Where's the garlic where's thelemongrass? The bun bo hue was not good. No flavor, color, spice. I tried to eat as much as I could but end up taking the rice plate home to the dogs. Only giving them a star because the egg rolls were good minus the old cucumbers they gave us. Horrible experience! I ordered soup and fried chicken as an appetizer. When the chicken arrived, it was soaked in fish sauce. I immediately told the waitress that I was allergic to fish sauce and didn't expect the fried chicken to be wet. She said that that's the way it's served and walked away. When I was ready to pay for the soup, she stated that I needed to pay also for the chicken, to which I informed her again that I wasn't paying for something that I could not and should not consume. (She would not take my money to just pay for the soup.) I asked to speak with the manager, and she said the manager was not there. Then she warned me that if I didn't pay for the chicken, she was going to call the police. I told her to go ahead and call. So, I waited about an hour for the police to arrive. Meanwhile, I noticed that one of the workers took my picture on his camera phone. So, I took his and the waitress's picture, and he had a fit and started shouting at me not to put his picture on social media (which I had no intentions of doing). Two policemen arrived, and I gave them my version of the issue. They were very professional, but after talking with their peers at headquarters, they told me that I should pay the total bill because of their store policy to eat whatever you ordered or be arrested for me not paying the full bill. I was shocked! As a compromise, I asked if I could get another meal of the same cost instead. To my surprise, the waiter (who I suspected was tge manager) agreed and prepared a combination fried rice meal. The police stayed until the meal was prepared and witnessed me paying the bill before they departed. When I got home and opened the container, the rice was cold and lumpy, the meat was hard as rocks and I threw the meal in the trash! By the way, I'm not sure how the waiter described me when they called the police but I am 70+ years old with Grey hair; I was very polite during the whole ordeal which may explain the look of surprise when the police arrived and saw me for the first time! I would not recommend this establishment; customer service is terrible! read more

I wanted so much to like this place, but I'm feeling disappointed. First time I tried their pho and wasn't impressed, more like meh... So I thought I'd give it another chance and order something different next time. Today the banh mi's that I ordered had very little meat and vegetables in a very large hoagie bun, which is far too much bread. 1 spring roll and 1 fresh shrimp roll were included. 2 lunch combos for just under $25, includes a drink (1 can soda and a fountain drink). I have come to eat here a few times in the past and always enjoyed my meal. Yesterday we went because my daughter wanted to have her 12th birthday dinner there with all 12 family members. Wow did they knock it out of the park. Quite a few family members had never eaten Pho and now they are making plans to go back. We started with the summer rolls and dumplings, highly recommend. I ordered the Pork Vermicelli bowl and finished every bite. The husband and wife owners were so friendly and made us all feel like family. They went out of their way to make my daughter birthday dinner very special and I am forever grateful. We all sat comfortably and were able to have great conversations because of how they sat us. My mother and I went to Pho Place because the Thai restaurant a few doors down was closed. The place was small and clean. I ordered the grilled chicken and my mother ordered the crispy chicken. we were both disappointed. My grilled chicken was actually thinly sliced pork which sat on lettuce served with two slices of cucumber, julienne radish and carrots (about 2 ozs) and a scoop of white rice for $13.99 My mothers crispy chicken looked it was cooked yesterday ten reheated with very little breading , the same cucumber, radish and carrots and scoop of white rice again for $13.99 . This plus a fresh lemonade for over $34 . What a rip off. The only good thing about this place was the service was fast. Probably because there was only 2 other people in the entire place. read more

Solid Vietnamese in the loop. Had their pork vermicelli--very tasty and good portion. I like that their fish sauce didn't taste like water. A problem a lot of places have is that they water down the fish sauce which is what makes the vermicelli bowl. Mom had their spicy soup--bun Bo hue. Flavor was ok, not her favorite but it was definitely spicy so not for the faint of heart. Looking forward to trying their pho out. They have great lunch specials too!! read more

We stopped by after reading the review about the hot stone soup being the stuff of dreams- not sure who's dream, but definitely not mine (and I love pho but this was sweet and didn't really taste like pho). I got the vermicelli bowl special and the shrimp was over cooked and actually bad (like very old/spoiled), no peanuts other than one, I probably had like 3 leaves of cilantro, just honestly wasn't it. Otherwise whatever meat they had in that bowl (looked like marinated and smoked bacon?) and the tiny spring roll on top were the best part of the meal. Did not take leftovers home. read more

Returned for a second time with my service animal but was refused service. Even though the first time here with my service animal there was no problem. It also states on yelp & google allow dogs. Tried to explain its a service animal and that it's illegal to refuse a service dog but he proceeded to argue back and lie that it's a different owner than before. Even though it's the same husband and wife couple from before.
