This is my favorite pho place in San Antonio. I've been coming here since 2018, & I will continue to come here. Their broth is amazing. The service is top notch, & it's just a relaxing place to come & enjoy a good (huge) bowl of pho. I usually get steak or tendon pho, my favorites. Never fails to satisfy my cravings. The basil, cilantro & mung beans are always fresh. The place is just a happy place, I seek it out when I'm needing a pick me up. I live on the other side of town. This is the third time I been to this place. I have a soft spot for family restaurants because I grew up in one. It will be the last visit. First of all, the owners were friendly to the customers. The place is clean and cozy. However the cooking is terrible each time. The plate I ordered was a Vietnamese. I got two large pork chops on the plate. I gave this place a lot of hope. I ordered the pho with the round eye and brisket. The meat tasted like unseasoned meat. I feel like it should have some flavor to it. The broth tasted like water. The noodles were so thin that they kept getting tangled with each other and the worst part was the chopsticks being poor quality (very flimsy). The service was questionable. I paid for my meal that was $18 and some change and then got told that I was missing money. The lady who picked up my money didn't realize she dropped a $5. And as I was walking out, the Male server was like are you done with all of this? I'm not entirely sure what that means if I'm walking out after I paid for my meal. Dont order to go or delivery if you are out of town. Everything will arrive raw with the intention that lukewarm soup will cook it. This is not advertised as a hotpot, nowhere does it claim to be. I understand Pho soups are meant to be cooked and served that way when you are immediately eating it. I was not. As someone who works in a kitchen, in no universe does liquid stay hot in a deli cup for more than 5 minutes. It just doesn't. To give a customer completely raw meat is a complete disregard for food safety, your craft, and the customer. The cheesepuffs do have imitation crab but do not say such. Instead the lie and say they are a specialty type, but really they are frozen. I was in desperate needs of some good pho and found Pho House through Yelp. It took me a bit to get here because the GPS was confused of the location since it's behind a hotel (so keep that in mind). As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by one of the staff members. For my first time I decided to go for the classic Pho Ga (chicken). The food came out quickly and the presentation was great. I was pleasantly surprised that their bowl was not as giant as in other places. In most restaurants I can never finish a bowl of pho, which I hate cause there is nothing worse than wasting food. However, I felt like their portion was just perfect and even gave an opportunity to order an appetizer if you really wanted too. Anyhow! regardless of the size of the bowl, the broth was packed with flavor and it was exactly what I was looking for. I arrive 8 minutes after pick up time and was told I had to wait 10 more minutes as they had just started the order when I mentioned it. Pho house is kinda tucked away, and easy to overlook. It's just a few minutes away from the airport, so I decided to give them a try before catching my flight at SAT. My review does not match the others. I ordered summer rolls with chicken and it was the most disgusting looking rolls I have been served. From the moment you step in the restaurant the ambiance of the is comforting and love all the little cat clocks ! The waitress was knowledgeable and quick when it came to our drinks and food order . We started off with the spring rolls which were good but too much cilantro for me ! 8/10 definitely recommend the peanut sauce and maybe some sriracha For the main course we both got the Pho combo with brisket and steak . We add a bunch of sriracha in it (not pictured) cause spicy is the way to go haha . It was really good and fresh was gone instantly! The service has always been cold, but it's take out so I didn't mind. I just got take out and since I'm staying in a hotel, I asked the guy if there was a fork in the bag. FIRST VISIT EVER!!! So far, so good. Stopped here while waiting to pick up my son just down the street, so took the opportunity to get in some ethnic flavors and Vietnamese and Thai are some of my most favorite! I was looking for this other place I'd recently visited and reviewed without referring back to Yelp or Google so finding this place was purely by chance. It's a quiet Monday evening and the crowd is small. I had already eaten earlier, so I wasn't too hungry. They advertise having "bubble teas" which seem to be an urban thing here in San Antonio. I take a chance and ask if they have a regular milk tea (Can a girl PLEASE get the hook ups?!) and no, they only have the blended bubble teas, but my waiter says they do have a Thai Iced Tea that isn't blended. I opt for that. I also request an order of their fried spring rolls. Nothing big or fancy, but hoping will give me an idea on whether I'd like to return for something more. The menu is comprised of (American) Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dining options. They have seasonal specials as well as tons of lunch and dinner specials. The drink comes quickly. I blend the worlds of tea, milk and boba. I immediately notice a dark, silt-like powder at the bottom. I swirl my fat boba straw round n round to get it to mix again. The color is dark, so I brace myself for a stronger tea taste. And yes, my suspicions are correct. The flavors are not balanced, so I'm left underwhelmed, a little meh. The spring rolls come and are left in front of me by the cook or food runner. They are a pair of deep fried spring rolls filled with pork, julienned carrots, onion, glass noddles, mushroom and get this... taro. A passing waitress confirms. I have never heard of taro being added to Vietnamese spring rolls. Have you?? I ask and she verified that taro is an ingredient quite commonly found in these appetizers. They are perfectly crispy, and very tasty when rolled in the provided leaf lettuce and pickled carrots. The carrots are not as pickled and sweet as I'd like, but they do the trick. The fish sauce that accompanies is also spot on. Great treat! The atmosphere and dynamic between the personnel comes off as very familial, so it would not surprise me to learn that this might be a family run business. The service is not overly friendly with me, but they are efficient and have been seen smiling and lingering at other customers' tables. Likely regulars, so I do not necessarily take offense. LOL! The music is a contemporary Asian sound that isn't my cup of (Thai) tea, but not unpleasant and the decor is tasteful. Large paintings/murals adorn the walls. The mural of 5 workers in a kitchen with firy woks and bowls of pho is my fave. Lots of detail and great artistic talent was put into it. I'd photograph it, but a gentleman is sitting there and might take offense to my paparazzi skills this evening. No matter, if you'd like to see it, I'd recommend coming to check it out for yourself. I'll be back to try some pho and hopefully they'll wow me and earn a full five stars from this girl. read more

Food quality has gone down. Went and had a sesame chicken and was so tough tasted like it was microwaved and a day old. Went before that and had the pho and the noodles were all chopped and pieces. Let me start with customer service is everything. One will attract more bees with honey . We were a party of 3 and the bill was approximately $65, not too bad but then again the food was not terrible but not great. In addition, the waitress was beyond terrible and had a crapy attitude. For example, we asked 3times what came in the sampler appetizer and her response was "I don't know" .
