I hardly ever leave reviews but my experience today made me so angry I feel the need to. I used to get food for my mother and I all the time from Pho win and loved how fresh it was and the good value for the large portions for the price. We noticed a change in the quality of the food a few months ago and haven't ordered from them since then. Decided to try again today and big mistake! My Mom wanted the B9 beef vermicelli bowl with lemongrass. I ordered it mild, no spice because they made it too spicy for her on the last visit. When I was ordering over the phone, the lady taking my order asked if mild spice was ok and I said again, no, I want it with no spice. I also ordered the beef with broccoli off the Chinese food menu for myself. Got home with the food and Mom's B9 is full of red pepper flakes and is too spicy AGAIN! My beef broccoli tasted ok but was half the amount of food I've gotten every other time. I called the restaurant and the guy I spoke to said he would "have to call her" to discuss the issue and I would get a call back. I'm assuming the "her" is the new boss/daughter referred to in other recent reviews? Anyway, got a call back from him and he said he spoke to "her" on the phone because she was gone for the day, and she said there was no mention of not wanting the B9 to be mild with no spice. That's calling me a liar and I won't stand for that. I was told the only thing that they would do would require me to drive all the way back with the messed up food for them to replace it. The food already went out in the trash and I'm not wasting gas to go back when they messed it up. This will be the LAST time we give them our business. read more

This was out of this world good. The beef broth isn't the best, but hoisin and hot sauce took care of the flavor issues. The bowl came with so many fresh veggies, it was impressive. Honestly I wish there was more then 5 stars I could rate this restaurant. Me and my boyfriend eat Pho religiously and even with all of the pho we've tried we find ourselves coming back to this place. We eat here at least 2-3 times a week and it is an incredible experience EVERY SINGLE TIME. I will never stop coming to pho win and I refuse to eat pho anywhere else. This place is located near I-10 and Dezavala. It is on the street next to the Walmart but can be accessed by the I-10 access road if you find a side street pass through. The parking seems to be tight for this row of restaurants . We parked on the side -back area. We chose a booth instead of the multiple open tables. It was really cold inside so bring a jacket. My wife ordered Pho and i ordered BahnMi. Both were very tasty . I want to come back for the Chinese section of the menu. Great service as well. First visit to @Pho Win was on a Friday night and calling my name was a vermicelli bowl of grilled pork, shrimp, and egg roll ~ B1 (Bun dac biet) ~ love at first bite! We go for pho , and prefer this over the place we used to go nearby for years . This tastes "cleaner" and crisper than most others, and we live it. This time I tried the Kung pao chicken, just to see if these guys do decent Chinese too, and we were very pleasantly surprised! I am so happy I found this place. As I like to tell my friends, pho is a warm, cozy hug, but in food form. I came here after noticing pretty high-rated reviews online. I ordered the P2. Not long after I placed my order, it came out STEAMING hot and it really just brought a smile to my face. I always start to question pho places when bowls of pho are served less than steaming hot, near-lukewarm temperature - it almost tells me that they probably let their broth sit out for too long without maintaining the heat on it. So I was so happy to see there was steam emitting from my bowl. Even better - the broth tasted SO light and natural. You can probably tell I was really having a good time there. My only complaint is that they're not very generous with their toppings and noodles... which is so very unfortunate! Otherwise, their ingredients do taste very fresh and super tasty. I just wish they gave me more food, which would justify pricing it at $10 in my opinion. Before I left, I also got a take-out order of A1 (fried spring rolls) for my roommate. The service was very accommodating and friendly. There was no unbearably long wait times. I'd definitely come back here whenever I'm in need of some comfort food! read more

Everything was extremely delicious and flavorful! We came here after a trip to Six Flags and still managed to make it in time for their lunch specials. The restaurant was very clean and our server was attentive and friendly, however she wasn't able to provide good explanations of the dishes we were asking about. She practically read us what was on the menu for example, it has brown sauce, but she couldn't elaborate further on what else was in the recipe. We just decided to pick what sounded good and went with it. The egg drop soup was heavenly and super eggy, which we both really enjoyed. The portions were large even though they were lunch specials. The only downside was the tea as they only have unsweetened tea. We are in Texas and I think it should be mandatory for every restaurant to serve sweet tea. I had to go to Costco around lunch time, but the parking lot was so full, I didn't dare wander in yet! What's up...does everyone head in for the free samples for lunch?!? So I idled in their parking lot long enough to Yelp a Vietnamese spot I'd been before. I set my GPS and headed over, with the intent of returning to Costco later. My GPS was a little wonky and didn't take me directly to the restaurant, so I had to drive around until I found it. I went in and was given my choice of seats and brought iced water while I looked over the menu. When the waitress returned, I ordered the the Grilled Pork Slice and Egg Roll Vermicelli Bowl, with add-on Tofu, and a side of spring roll peanut sauce. My mouth dropped open when the bowl was delivered to my table...it was HUGE! I drizzled everything with the sweet fish sauce dressing it comes with, and then with a touch of the peanut sauce. If I'd known the tofu would be tossed in an incredible sauce before being placed on my bun, I would not have ordered the peanut sauce. Everything was incredibly good...filled with flavor and that certain umami goodness you only get from really good Asian fare. In a town that lacks really good Asian food, this place is most definitely a gem in the roughy and a certain keeper on our list! I'm really looking forward to bringing my husband back to try it. I usually order through favor for a work lunch. My typicallborder is the tofu vermicelli with an avocado smoothie. No complaints there. They serve hefty portions in this department. Today, I ordered the lemon chicken lunch special with a shirmp vietnamese roll for a change of pace. It came with lemon chicken, rice, egg drop soup, and iced tea. This chicken was delivered COLD and salty. It looked more like a sad chicken patty that was starved and pounded ridiculously thin. They egg drop soup was delivered half empty. The taste was tolerable. The egg roll is thin and orange (never seen an orange egg roll before). They rice looked bland. I wasn't going to attempt to taste it. The shirmp rolls were decent, the peanut sauce was super thick though. Needless to say, I'm taking this order back for a refund for the lemon chicken. read more

I used to love this place! I ate there at least once a week! Then the mom chose to give it to her idiot daughter who admittedly had no interest in running it like her mom. She wasn't in it to stay open - even past 9 pm a lot of days, let cooks screw up their recipes - the list goes on. Because she's so bad, Mom could t retire and had to come save it. But not before the best cooks left. So now it's a daughter who screws up orders, requires you TO BRING BACK THEIR SCREW UP TO PROVE I'M NOT LYING - to fix it. Completely sad to see how terrible it was to allow this kid to takeover the restaurant, destroy the loyalty of the clientele and challenge us when she is the reason for its failure! Finally a good pho place around UTSA!! The place is newly built so it's spankin clean in there! Food was not what I expected. Good pho is pretty hard to find here in SA but this is just as good as the ones in Houston! Had the chance to try the Pho and Bo Lat Lo, which is nest wrapped in betal leaves and you eat it like spring rolls! Came out with plenty of fresh and pungent veggies and herbs. I've eaten here at least 4 times since it's opened over a month ago. Food is 4/5 stars but the service...... 5/5 hands down! Super polite, makes sure everything turned out well, will answer any of your questions. The owner and chef came out just to ask if really enjoyed the food and how to eat the Bo Lat Lo properly.
