Our go-to place for Pho and has never disappointed. This is a storefront restaurant in the corner of a strip mall anchored by a BJ's. It's minimally decorated in Vietnamese theme. About 25 tables and booths, with a small bar with a few seats. 2 tvs with sound off and jazz music piped in a little too loud. Any time I've been here the clientele are evenly divided between Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese, which to me is a good sign because (to me) that means the food is authentic. We ordered shrimp and pork spring rolls to start. These are made to order with shrimp, pork and raw vegetables and basil rolled in rice paper, with a peanut-based dipping sauce. Delicious, with a nice crunch to the shrimp and crisp fresh vegetables. I had the Pho combo. There are 2 sizes, large and extra large. Large is a huge meal to me, I can't imagine being hungry enough for the extra large. The beef broth is rich and earthy, not overly salty or too much seasoning. In the broth is a mound of freshly boiled rice noodles, accompanied by rare steak, sliced meatballs, tripe and tendon. I added Thai basil and bean sprouts with a dash of hoison sauce. Perfection in a bowl. The best soup is the kind you can eat with a fork.... And this is it! The tab was $20 for two, including 2 soft drinks. Very inexpensive for a delicious fast casual meal. Ordered thru Uber eats and eta on delivery was 35-40 took almost 2 hrs . Ordered 644 and I didn't get my order till after 830 . The driver was waiting for an hour and almost canceled due to the super long wait! I Called the restaurant and took three calls to get thru Someone and when I talked to whoever answered they weren't helpful and they had a snarky attitude and didn't give me reason for the food wait ! Because of this kind of service I do not recommend ordering ... by the time it arrived it was cold and did not enjoy the food Was looking forward to a nice hot pho noddle soup which I haven't had in years .... Had a bad experience here this week. Haven't been there in a year, was disappointed to see that the spicy beef noodle bowl is no longer offered, so I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup. The dish is listed as having only brisket and pork on the menu, but it came with tripe, those congealed blood clots, and a couple other types of meat that I could not identify. Meanwhile, my friend, who ordered the pho house special, got only brisket and pork. Clearly, the chef put all his meat in my soup. We didn't realize this until we had eaten for a few minutes. I brought it to the attention of the waiter, who admitted there was a mistake, and said "I will tell the chef." But he didn't do anything else, didn't offer to change it, Didn't apologize, didn't give us a discount. I couldn't eat mine. I showed him the bowl full of meat that I didn't order and I didn't want. He didn't care. Will not be back to this place. I had several incidents of poor service before, but this is the worst. I will drive a couple miles down to Pho East. read more

I have been coming here for almost two years ever since I moved to Raleigh, but from today's visit, I don't think I will be coming back. This was my go-to place for pho so I always get pho when I come here. But what I got today tasted so different from what it used to taste like. The soup lacked that deep flavor of the broth, but rather more of the MSG. Not to mention that the service was a miss as usual. No greeting and everything. The server was nice but she never checked on us and didn't refill water either. I am wondering if it's under a new owner or something (the decorations and menu changed)? I love this place! I'd say I visit at least once a month if not more. The pho here is the best I've had ,definitely a personal option but this place is amazing. Their fried egg rolls are awesome and the steamed ones, although a little different from what youd expect, are also delicious. The menu has more authentic Vietnamese dishes than most of the more infused restaurant menus. TRY: Vietnamese lemonade. So good! **If you have a scratchy or sore throat, take it warm. Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepes) - I ask them to leave pork out. Tear a few fingers full and wrap it around the lettuce. Then dip in sweetened fish sauce. Bo Luc Lac - ask for extra lime juice/ limes. I was served wings that had meat missing and the bone in the middle showing, the wings looked used. Unacceptable for a kitchen to serve out incomplete wings. Each piece including both wing and leg had a piece missing. Its if they cut a part from each wing to save money, or maybe they cut a the parts that were bad. I'm not sure of the reason being but it was very off putting. As a restuarant owner/chef/manager I would not let the customer take home wings that had a piece missing from each wing. This is the very first time I ate wings that had meat missing. Not to mention I ordered takeout when I arrived. I ordered two bubba teas and 8 wings. It took 25minutes maybe 30. Like really. That's too long for those items. The restaurant was not even busy. The wings tasted good and it worked with the sweat and sour suace it came with. The fresh veggies that come with the pho came in super small portions compared to other places I've been to. Also the food was not fresh ! I used to go here pretty often with my family when I lived in town a few years ago, but this visit was kind of disappointing. Our server was great, kind, and attentive, the restaurant was clean where I was sitting and could see, but the food service was off. Our meals all came out at different times, and one of the appetizers took so long that we cancelled it once our meals came. My bubble tea drink also came at the end of my meal. The food was ok, nothing noteworthy. Prices are reasonable, your average dish price is probably ~$11. It's worth a visit if you're wanting Vietnamese food. read more

Tried this place out last weekend for an early dinner. Somewhere in the 4:00 range, we weren't surprised to be one of two tables. We so tend to do things at off-hours, and that's okay with us! First reaction when we walked in was, wow, this place is spotless! Second reaction was, how come we managed to be seated at the one booth that had stuff all over the floor around it? Must be the favorite booth. Second reaction was, the booth seats are way too far from the table. This continued to be a bit of an uncomfortable situation for me, as I'm very short. Anyway, on to the good parts...the FOOD! The whole menu looked awesome to me, but also very foreign, as I am completely ignorant regarding Vietnamese food. Our Server was young, enthusiastic and informative. With her help and menu descriptions, we narrowed our choices down. Immediately we knew we had to try the Pork & Shrimp Spring Rolls. Two large ones came out with a fabulous peanut sauce. Each roll had four very large shrimp in them. Nice quality. I kicked up the already tasty peanut sauce with a little heat, and it was great! Husband chose the Shaken Beef, and I went with the Crispy Noodles. I absolutely loved most of my dish. The shrimp, chicken...very good! The pork, not my favorite part of it. It was very thin, but fairly tasteless, and tough. I kept trying to avoid the small parts of fat, but it was hard to cut and not worth the effort once I did. However, the rest of the dish was really good! The broth under those crispy noodles was so flavorful. I loved all the veggies, and I loved that some of the noodles had two different textures...if they got wet they were one way, and yet you could still have some crispy. The sauces on the table added flavor to the dish as well. Meanwhile, Husband was doing the Shaken Beef and he wasn't as enthused. The beef was in chunks, and got more and more tough as he went along. This one was worth the trip! I'd had it bookmarked and am happy to finally have the chance to try. I ordered the lemongrass tofu vermicelli (added some sriracha) which was delicious. Would have enjoyed some mint in it, but was otherwise great. And the BBQ pork roll with the brown sauce - cannot go wrong. Server was great. The only awkward thing was walking in and seeing no one at the podium to greet and seat you, but about three or four people behind the counter and no one saying anything to you as you walk in (the server at the end of the bar seated me). The service here has always been a hit or miss (ok honestly, mostly a miss), but the food has always been consistent. I always get pho, my friend always gets vermicelli, and sometimes I'll get the fried rice - all three menu items have never been bad or different. Overall, this place was a letdown. We love Vietnamese food and were hoping to find another place in the triangle to get our fix. Most likely we will not be coming back to Pho Super 9. We went as a group of 4 and got to sample a bit of everything. We tried the goi cuon thit nuong (bbq pork spring rolls). These were decent. They were tasty and the accompanying sauce wasn't just overly sweet hoisin like many other viet joints around here. I was a little surprised that they used thit nuong instead of nem nuong but that's my fault for not reading the menu. We also had the Vietnamese iced drip coffee. Bonus points for actually using the dripper but there was way too much condensed milk which threw off the ratio of coffee to sweetness. We also tried two of the banh mi--ham & patty (their version of combination) and bbq pork (thit nuong). Do not order the banh mi. What a waste of money and calories. So simple yet so many places around here do this: they served the sandwich on an untoasted hoagie roll! Is it so hard to give us a baguette? To make matters worse the sandwiches barely had any of the pickled veg, cucumber, and cilantro. These are easy, inexpensive, but essential parts of a banh mi! To top it off the meats were...off. The head cheese, cha lua, and ham were too sweet and too soft. I can't even remember how the pork was because I was so angry with the bread and lack of veg. *deep breath* Okay, I will admit the pho and bun bo hue were actually decent. The BBH had a good flavor and nice amount of heat to the broth. Noodles cooked well. They actually give you a decent portion of all the meats. The combination pho was pretty good too. The broth wasn't spot on but it was tasty and was nice on a cold winter day. Overall, I wouldn't come back unless some changes were made. This is worst restaurant experience I've ever had in a LONG time!! Walked in and nobody acknowledged me, even when there's three servers walking around with only two tables!!! Then I finally found a place to sit, thinking they're maybe seat yourself type of restaurant, but waited at the table for another 10 mins without menu or water or anyone acknowledging me!! The servers just glance at me and never came to bring me a menu!! If it wasn't for my past experiences with the good pho, I would of got up and walked out. Finally a server came to bring me the menu and the menu was confusing! I ordered the spicy pho, and the broth was bland and disgusting!! Would never return again! I ended up getting their combo bowl/bun dac biet which was actually really good! A little skeptical since I'm usually picky with Vietnamese food, as I normally don't eat out to Vietnamese restaurants since I'm use to eating at home. But this was actually fantastic! The combination of the sweet bbq and crispy egg rolls along with the fish sauce that gave it the extra non dry taste. There are several things i judge a vietnamese restaurant on...i realize this varies for a lot of people, but for me, i'm actually not a huge fan of Pho, so my criteria is 1. Com (a rice dish, grilled pork is my favorite) and Bun 2. Iced Coffee 3. Avocado Smoothie......lol I am glad to finally find a place here in raleigh to get my V fix! (there's only one other place locally that i actually like, and this new one is near my home, SUPER DOUBLE AWESOME VICTORY!!) 1. We ordered the com with grilled bbq pork.....YUM! there's a restaurant in charlotte that i use as the basis to compare all of my vietnamese experiences to, and this place comes really close to being just as good as that one! YEAH!!!! the fish sauce, which they call citrus fish sauce was excellent, pork had a wonderful flavor. Update: i've been back....A LOT and had the bun with the grilled pork and spring roll, and it was super yum! 2. Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk.....my favorite coffee-gasim! they do it perfectly here! can i get 10 to go?!!?!? 3. Avocado smoothie, perfect! not overly sweet, nice and creamy. they call them milkshakes, but don't be fooled, no ice cream (good!). My husband is a Pho fan, and he ordered a little bowl of the Pho broth, and he thought it was very good....me....the one who doesn't care for Pho LOVED it. Usually my problem with Pho is the marrow taste is too strong, it's almost sickeningly sweet, and the licorice taste is too strong for me....but not here, it had a nice salty/bone taste that wasn't over bearing....i just might be tempted to actually try Pho next time. The owner was SUPER nice and accommodating. If our server didn't know the answer, she would get the owner (smart server!) who took time to talk to us and give us samples of what we were asking for. We've been anxiously awaiting the opening of Super Pho 9, and got to try it Sunday on its opening day. The service and food timing were off, but that's to be expected for the first month of a restaurant being open, let alone the first day. The food, though, is phenomenal. We started with the chicken wings and the summer roll--both were fresh and flavorful. We also had beef and chicken pho, as well as a grilled chicken noodle dish. All of them were great. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and affordable. We'll probably frequent Super Pho 9, but mostly for take-out. Go support this local business! read more

If I open a Vietnamese restaurant, this is how it might look inside. Clean, spacious, with good Vietnamese background music. Big menu selection with clear pictures for some novice foodies . Very nice and attentive wait staff, which is a rarity in most Vietnamese restaurants. I had the avocado shake with bubbles. That was very good. The bò tái chanh: lemon beef salad (raw beef salad) is really delicious: The spices, herbs and lime juice that seasoned the raw beef was perfect. This dish is a recommend. (Like ceviche dish I asked for extra lime juice to add into the meat and it turned the meat white after a few minutes due to the citric acid, essentially "cooking" the meat). For dessert, I had the chè sâm bo luong: Red date, lotus seed,pearl barley and Logan with seaweed. Typical dessert drink for a hot day. My husband had the cafe sua da which was very good. He had the bún thit nuong cha giò: grilled pork with egg rolls and shrimp. While his dish was beautifully arranged and we both like the dish the grilled pork does not taste authentic. For dessert he had flan, which was very good. Our friends ordered bánh xèo: Vietnamese crepe & mì xào dòn: crispy noodle The Vietnamese crepe is definitely a recommend. Served with fresh vegetable and herbs ( real Vietnamese Chameleon Plant also known as fish plant herb : definitely need an acquired taste if you are not familiar with this herb.) The crispy noodle is good, but typical and is not one of my favorite Vietnamese dish. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit so I'm giving this restaurant a five star, and will definitely come back. On the side note, my husband prefers Pho Far East restaurant for the cozy atmosphere and more authentic flavor of his dish...and I agree. read more

I love vietnamese foods my ex boyfriend really introduced it to me, This place in located in the shopping center next to BJ's, behind the On the Boards, and the Big Lots off of Capital Blvd. It's very clean, the staff is very polite and attentive, they have a decent selection of wines. Appetizers: My friend had the spring rolls which looked so good the clear wrapping showed off all the tasty shrimp pork and veggies inside and this thing was PACKED get you two of them and trust me thats enough! I had the Vietnamese Chicken Wings, they dont have flour on them but they are just as crispy and juicy inside I highly recommend them. I had the combination Pho, in the large, it was literally a bowl of meats, broth, veggies and noodles my kinda of soup! It comes with basil leaves, bean sprouts, and limes however here the pho is already a flavor explosion literally halfway through my meal my senses were like overloaded even with sight. Super Pho! So not my favorite in town but it's definitely one of the better Pho's I've had. I was around this area of town and decided to give this place a shot since I've had it bookmarked forever. The menu is enormous with plenty of options to choose from. I always struggle with Vietnamese food I have so many favorites to choose from. Unfortunately there aren't that many options here in the Triangle so when I get a chance to eat it I'm always struggling with what to order. I never am never out in N. Raleigh this far so I needed to give this place a try. I decided to order a small order of the tofu Pho. Want to know the goods? -You can order a small, large, or x-large Pho that's pretty awesome -crazy amount of Pho and vermicelli "bun" options and lots of tasty looking house specialties -they have bubble tea -"Super" clean -great service Everything overall was very good I walked out with a delicious lunch under $10. However some of the menu items I was looking at to order were well over $15 which I thought was a little steep a lot of those were salads as well. I'm not sure I would make a trip out here just for the Pho but if I'm out this way I will definitely be back it's worth checking out. 2 visits and 2 excellent meals. Haven't tried the Pho yet but I have to say, so far, I'm a fan! I have no clue what is authentic or what is "Americanized" when it comes to Vietnamese food. Quite honestly, I do not know how the food is supposed to be put together once it arrives at my table - a little bowl of liquid is supposed to go with my vermicelli dish somehow, but I don't know what it is or how it is applied to the dish. Health score of 97, a couple of TV's one set on news, the other on some entertainment of one sort or another, but the one at the bar seems to just be in screensaver mode. Beer and wine only, no full bar here. Atmosphere is casual, clean and classy, nice decorative touches in earth/gold tones and not overdone. An observation - they were losing customers because the 3 servers were also trying to serve as hosts - and because they were slammed and their time was also being monopolized by a party of sixteen who kept calling them over to their table, the servers (obviously frustrated - body language) were not always able to acknowledge the folks waiting by the door - I saw at least two parties wait a few minutes before exiting due to that lack of attention/acknowledgement. It might be difficult, based on that observation, to suggest the place is good for large groups when it isn't staffed to handle large groups. Related observation: While serving as hosts, the servers did not approach the guests waiting at the door to invite them to follow to a table, instead, picked up menus at the far end of the bar and called across the foyer to have the guests follow them.
