I DoorDashed this bowl and loved it. A lot of sriracha, which is great for me. Everything was fresh.
Ah the weekend! Time to find a nice place to dine and see the sights of my new city - Raleigh! I've been reading about how popular the Morgan Street Food Hall is so my significant other and I decided to see the place. So after checking the different options I opted for this food kiosk. I asked if they can do half salmon and half tuna and refused me and with that I decided to dock a star on what could've been a nice 4 star review. This salmon poke dish was fresh, delicious and well seasoned. The portion was just right. I'm just disappointed they didn't consider my request. Will I buy food at this joint? Might be a while since I plan to come back and try the others first.
Tried this place at lunchtime today. I ordered the Kona poke bowl with salmon. This bowl includes seaweed salad, kimchi salad, sweet potato, spicy cucumber, crab salad, gochujang and white sauce. I ordered it over a base of 1/2 greens, 1/2 rice. Order was ready and literally two minutes. I had just found a table and sat down when my buzzer sounded. Rice and sweet potato were hot, all the other ingredients cold, and such a mix of flavors in the bowl! Sweet potato was an interesting touch. Generous portion -- plenty for me for lunch. I was not disappointed in my choice! Husband ordered the Seoul bowl which also looked delicious. I look forward to returning and trying another bowl.
Came in my 7,000 mile 24 city food tour. Can't ask for much more in a food hall stand. Great service. Appealing plated poke bowl. Food tasted fresh and quality. Ordered the Kona poke bowl with white rice, salmon, seaweed salad, kimchi slaw, sweet potato, spicy cucumber, crab salad, gochujang sauce, and white sauce. Fresh and paired nicely. Enjoyed being able to make multiple blends of bites the way the items were plated apart.
I got super excited when The Bowls started coming to our company for lunch! It was always my go to at the food all but now it's a special treat in the office! The Seoul Bowl is a must try!
I got the California Chicken Sandwich which comes with homemade chips. The flavor of the sandwich was great and the chicken was crispy. My only notes are I didn't like the whole sprig of cilantro and the chips needed some seasoning. Otherwise it was great!
Disappointed on my return to this restaurant. I had the Kona Poke bowl last July add it was fabulous. Fresh and spicy. Large pieces of tuna. I ordered the exact same bowl. The tuna pieces were much smaller. There was zero white sauce on the top. I asked where the sauce was and I was told it was inside. Nope. It was not. I took a photo of both bowls.
This place would've gotten 5 stars if I had reviewed it the first few times I ate there years ago but unfortunately when I ate there the other day, it seemed like they changed their delicious purple forbidden rice for regular white rice. Honestly, the purple rice they used to do made the whole dish. It was so delicious paired with everything. The flavor and crispiness of their chicken and the rest of the ingredients are still good, it just doesn't pair as well with the white rice. Or at least since I have something to compare it to, it doesn't. I'm very sad and I hope they go back to the other one. I also don't like the spicy cucumbers that usually come with this bowl, I always ask to switch it out with warm zucchini because I felt like having the cold and hot together felt off.
Can you really go wrong at Morgan Street Food Hall? It was a very indecisive day for picking what I felt like eating, but The Bowl won out. I ordered the Thai rice bowl which had grilled Thai basil chicken, red pepper, pickled carrots & radish, eggplants, zucchini, cilantro, chopped peanuts, panang curry sauce, and Thai basil sauce. Delish! It had just the right amount of spicy zing and lots of flavor. I will say the black rice was a little different visually, but I was full by the time I finished. The oolong tea wasn't anything special, but the food hall is not providing cups of water (obviously because of the pandemic) so I had to pick something. The food was ready fairly quickly.
Excellent keto-compliant lunch today at the Morgan Street Food Hall! Simply switching from rice to salad greens and dropping the sweet potato, I had a flavorful, delicious and satisfying meal! And despite the various sauces and big pieces of lettuce, I avoided wearing any of it. I chose the "Kona" bowl and it was lovely. Nicely filled with spicy tuna (a little too spicy but that's just my taste) and crab salad and a bunch of other nicely textured add-ons. Yummy! Plenty of options here and they're fresh! Wonderful experience! I've had Bowls about 5x now and must admit that they food has been consistently great! It's so hard to choose which bowls to order. I usually get the Thai bowl with greens instead of rice (5 stars!!), but this time I ordered the Seoul bowl which was amazing as well!! Ordered takeout and it still tasted so fresh once I got back to my apartmentWill be back soon for more!!

I tried their bulgogi egg rolls and the Seoul rice bowl which had Korean BBQ beef, kimchi slaw, citrus kale, zucchini, scallions, pickled red onions, pickled radish & carrots, a fried egg, sesame seeds, sesame oil, white sauce, and gochujang suace (what a mouthful). Everything about the rice bowl was fantastic -- the purple rice is quite interesting but a good base nonetheless, the beef was very flavorful, and all of the veggies just added to the overall bowl itself. Stopped in with a friend who was in town and we wanted to grab a quick lunch. In general, Morgan Street Food Hall is a great spot to stop in if you're in the area and need a quick lunch. We grabbed food from the bowls, which is one of my favorites here. I think they have a really good poke bowl. The bowls are big and full - definitely worth the $15ish you're paying. They come out quickly and you can enjoy them outside or inside, which is perfect for an NC summer. read more

Came here for lunch today and decided to try the Shanghai bowl. Ive been here before, a very long time ago so another visit was long overdue. Food took about 7 minutes to be ready but was worth it. The bowls are already set with the ingredients you just choose your base of mix greens or rice or half and half. The ginger chicken was very flavorful and the portion size was good. I would definitely come back again. read more

I got the California Chicken Sandwich which comes with homemade chips. The flavor of the sandwich was great and the chicken was crispy. My only notes are I didn't like the whole sprig of cilantro and the chips needed some seasoning. Otherwise it was great! read more

This place is located in a food hall with plenty of outdoor seating on their gorgeous patio filled with plenty of picnic tables, string lights and Blooming star jasmine. Quick service, great portion size. LOVE the purple rice! Got the Seoul and a Kona Poke bowl! I am allergic to zucchini and asked for it to be removed and it was no issue at all. This place it great! read more

Shanghai Rice Bowl -"Crispy ginger chicken, cabbage and red pepper, spicy cucumber, scallion, sesame seeds, and white sauce." The ginger chicken was dry, tough, and chewy, not good at all and there was no white sauce to hide the fact the chicken was soooo overcooked. I was very disappointed with the price I expected way better. However, the bulgogi spring rolls were good. read more

The Bowls is one of the many unique restaurants and Morgan Street Food Hall offering a tasty menu of interesting pairings. On this Saturday night the line was long. At peak times be prepared to stand in line for 10+ minutes and wait 10+ minutes for your food. Worth it... I tried the Shanghai rice bowl. This was a fun blend of different flavors and textures, and delicious. Chunks of breaded chicked, fried and tossed in a ginger glaze are served atop a bed of perfectly cooked sticky black rice. Garnishes included small squares of cabbage, sliced red peppers, halved unseeded cucumbers in a spicy mayo and scallions, finished with crispy onions, sesame seeds and a splash of ginger sauce. Each bite featured little sweet, a little tart, a little spice and a pleasing almost-crunch of rice. The only thing to improve this one might've been an extra shot of a savory sauce. Still - a delicious bowl. There are 10 bowls on the menu, plus a couple of appetizer-like choices. Surprisingly there are no fish choices. In a poke-style spot, I would have expected some spicy tuna! Plenty of other bowls to try though, so will be back. read more

The bowls is located within Morgan Street Food Hall. On my most recent visit I decided to check this spot out and ordered the Thai bowl. The overall flavor and ingredients were just okay, if you like spicy this is the bowl for you. I think that I would have liked this place more (possibly) if I went with another bowl selection. read more

Overall pretty tasty! I got the Seoul bowl and it was really filling and PACKED with flavor. Was about a 10 minute wait or so from when I ordered to when I got it, through the pager system. I'm not sure if it is meant to be cold, but it was definitely not warm either when I received it. Still, the taste was good! The only other thing I was not super fond of was that it was really sticky and thick, and could use some more crunch and "fresh" vegetables. But again, flavors were great! With so many choices at Morgan street though, I'd likely try someplace else next time. read more

Healthy, if rather uninteresting, meal option at the Morgan Street Food Hall. Didn't love that the meat and rice were warm but that the vegetables were straight from the fridge. Korean 'spicy' bowl was anything but. Barely any heat at all. read more
Located in the Morgan Street Food Hall, this station is located right in the middle of the floorplan and overlooks the entrance to the outdoor space. I explored all of my options at various other stations but ended up being drawn to the Seoul bowl. It's basically a slight variation of a bulgogi bibimbap dish. Upon placing my order I was given a small buzzer and after only a few minutes later my buzzer went off. I was very pleasantly surprised by my selection. I was instantly blown away by the authentic bursts of flavor that hit my pallette. The beef was so tender and flavorful. The gojuchang was not too overpowering and really gave the bowl the extra kick that it deserved. The shaved slices of radish gave the dish a tangy and sweet addition. And the rest of the ingredients were fresh, light and crisp. Overall I was very impressed with the powerful punch this "little bowl" delivered. It was not small in portion size by any means, but quite the contrary, so I want to be sure to clarify this. I am definitely a fan of this mighty bowl and I urge anyone interested in sampling Korean food to please give them a try. read more
Mad props to The Bowls at Morgan Street Food Hall! I told them I have allergies to chili peppers and they offered to make me a bowl from scratch. They made mine with brown rice , kale, corn, avocado, dried cranberries, sprouts, onions, salmon and I think little rice crisps with their special sauce! Omg it was amazing! They should have this on their menu! read more

Another let down. I don't remember what I ordered - but I was hoping this place would be one I could frequent. The reason I'm giving a low rating is the freshness... it was lacking. If I pay $10 or more for my food I expect it to taste at least semi fresh and not old. The bowl was very mediocre. I did make some substitutions to my bowl which the workers were super nice and helpful about. Def not spending any money at this place again though. read more

With so many options inside Morgan Street Food Hall it would be easy to over look this tasty spot. I had the Malibu bowl atop greens with tuna. It was delicious and fresh!! Several options for even the most discerning pallet. read more

(6/3/2019) Was having a hard time deciding what to get at the Morgan Street Food Hall, everything looked so, so good. Needed a little "detox" (roughage) after a week of eating out and too much at fancy restaurants downtown (was in town for a conference). I'm terrible with my build-your-own decisions, so got the Malibu Poke Bowl with salmon, half rice and half greens. It was perfect, a delicious mix of fresh, crispy, creamy, chewy, and zipped up with a tangy vinaigrette. I regret nothing. read more
