Absolutely excellent--again. Red Pepper Asian continues to deliver. This time I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken dinner with an egg roll, and it was excellent--bold, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I really like that they use a mix of vegetables beyond the usual carrots and celery, which adds great flavor and texture. I've ordered from here before and it's been great every time. I also really like their Pad See Ew, and this meal was no exception. Pickup was right on time and the staff was friendly, which always makes a difference. We love it here. We moved away from the area and drive about 40 minutes to take a trip there. They can do so much gluten free. It is no nonsense and good clean food. It's always excellent. They are only doing To Go orders, which was fine with us, as I wanted to bring home dinner. Ordered before I left work, and everything was ready and waiting for me when I arrived ten minutes later. We could not have been happier with the quality, quantity and taste of everything we ordered. Ever since I moved to the RDU area a few months ago, I've been looking for a go-to Chinese takeout spot. I had heard about Red Pepper from a friend from work. She told me she had had different things from them in the past and enjoyed them all. Different strokes for different folks ‍ I finally tried them for myself. I ordered the orange chicken meal which came with white rice, and an additional side of broccoli. Didn't need the broccoli since there were a few pieces included with the entree itself. For the meal and the SIDE of broccoli my total was $18.35 I don't think I've ever in my life paid that much for a single meal for Chinese takeout ‍ The price I could get past if the food was actually good. It wasn't. Weirdly enough it seemed to have no flavor. When ordering online, it gave the options for different levels of spice, ranging from "not spicy" to "extra hot." I opted for the "not spicy", but still where's the flavor itself?! It had the flavor of orange peels, but that's about it. Had to cover it with duck and soy sauce to get it to taste like something. I can't believe I just discovered this place! Ordered takeout on a whim on a drive home and got the tofu pad see ew. I actually asked for pad kee mao/drunken noodles but when I looked at the receipt and their menu, I think they just have pad see ew. They honestly taste very similar if not the same to me anyway so I did not mind. It was overall delicious, my total was $14 and change including tax. It was very slightly on the blander side but I'm not sure if it's because it's pad see ew or if that's how it usually is. The reviews are accurate. Red Pepper Asian is located in a strip mall. There was plenty of parking. First thing I noticed was the amazing smell coming from inside. Another lady walking by stopped and commented about how she'll be checking it out later based on the smell alone. Upon entering we noticed a sign saying dine in is only for lunch (11:00 - 2:30) if I'm not mistaken. We wanted to eat in but because the reviews were so good we chanced take out, and I'm glad we did. The space is very clean and well decorated. The space is not huge but didn't feel cramped. My absolute favorite thing about my visit was the picture wall to the right of the register which shows exactly what each dish looks like. I am surprised more restaurants do not do this, its so helpful to see what your food will look like before ordering. The gentleman who took our order was very nice. The food took about 10-15 minutes to get ready. We ordered the triple delight, hot and sour soup, pan fried dumplings, and shrimp fried rice. All delicious. The triple delight was flavorful and had lots of meat and veggies (broccoli, mushrooms, and carrots). The pork fried dumplings were fried perfectly and came with the usual dumpling sauce. The fried rice wasn't overly greasy and had plenty of shrimp (also had onion, carrots, and peas). I'd highly recommend you come here if looking for good Chinese food in the area. Soooo disappointed. This was our favorite place for Chinese, but the lady there now has become so rude! We tried one last time to see if maybe shes been having bad days. Nope! The chicken was delicious I wish it was a little more spicy but regardless it was amazing. The rice had a lot of egg in it that I did not ask for. They egg-rolls were extremely greasy and had a weird texture and taste. It would have been nice to inform them of the disappointment but they don't allow for dine-in after their lunch service. I was looking for great thai food and I read the reviews here so based on the time of day and limited Thai restaurants open I picked here. I arrived and was a little unsure because it was a Chinese restaurant in a strip mall and I am a Thai food lover. Strike 1. I wanted to eat in, but I got mad at this place for having such limited dine-In Hours (11a-2:30p) because I like to eat my food inside the restaurants while hot and fresh, however.....that wasn't an option due to my late afternoon arrival. Strike 2. So since I was there, I ordered my Thai classic favorites. Drunken noodles, Tom Kha soup, and fried spring rolls. I sat inside and waited as people who called ahead streamed in and out with their takeouts. My food arrived fresh.....i immediately opened my food in the car expecting blah imitation thai food.... but SURPRISE!!! The drunken noodles were A-1! I smelled the soup.....tasted it....KAPOWWW!! My tastebuds were elated! The veggie spring roll was tiny fir the price but it was good. I'll try a regular roll next time.
