Saw this restaurant on TikTok and thought I take my parents there for early dinner. Located across from Auburn SuperMall there's ample parking. Decided to try their famous hot stone pho that is served in a boiling broth in a hot stone bowl. The meats are dipped in the soup to cook. My parents loved it especially my dad who's finicky with his pho. The pho was served traditionally with a side of thinly sliced onions marinated in vinegar and a side of green onions in oil. One bowl is $23 but was enough for 2 people to share. You can ask for extra noodles or extra meats. Next time will come back and try their brisket bone pho. Ordered their Bun Bo Hue to go and their Combination rice w pork chops and Eggrolls. Service was very friendly, the owner walked to each table to check to see if everyone enjoyed their meals. We finally found our local pho place here in Auburn. The owners are Jade and J (I don't remember the husbands name), but our first time coming here the pho had a lot of flavor and it wasn't bland and we have been here several times already. The service is okay, I can see them trying to perfect your order and if they make a mistake they acknowledge their error and will help w/ anyway. They make sure that our water is always filled. Had high hopes for this place. Came in they were quick to take the order, but food took 30+ minutes to come out. Looks and sounds like a shit show. Constant yelling from the cook/boss in the back. Out of the way to get to, will not be coming back. And they burnt my egg rolls. read more

The pho is definitely the best part. I was not a fan of the rice plates as I felt for the money you're paying it wasn't worth it. I order the Saigon combo rice dish. I did get the listed items.. I recently began working near the Auburn Outlet collection and I'm not yet in a place where I can meal prep regularly to pack a decent lunch - so I've been trying the local places to find 'my spot'. If my lunch today is the only example I have to go with for Top Pho, I cannot recommend them to anyone. While I love a hot bowl of noodle soup, it wasn't in the cards today so I chose rice instead, BBQ Pork Fried Rice specifically. I feel bad giving this location a poor review, because the staff/owners seemed plenty nice enough, but the BBQ Pork in my dish was inedible. After picking all of the chunks out (pictured) along with the very clearly previously frozen Lima beans, I was left with a less than exciting mix of egg, carrots, corn, & peas. I ate all of that - because hunger & 30 minute lunches. That said, I personally believe that what I ordered was thrown together with little thought to anyone noticing how gross the BBQ pork would be as it's a rice dish so everything is, obviously, tossed in a single pan/wok. However, if you don't have the protein in stock to serve (at least an edible version), just call the patron and explain that item is unavailable/out of stock -- don't just make it anyway and then bag it up for a to-go order hoping no one will notice. If I had been the one boxing my own food up, I'd have been embarrassed for how it looked. I cannot in good faith suggest this restaurant for your next meal. read more

I'm new to Vietnamese cuisine, more specifically Pho soup. But I have been to several other locations and I have to say their broth at this location was DELICIOUS, I always try the broth first, I'm not sure if I was simply hungry, but so far this was my favorite pho that I have tried, yet!! The food took a little long to get to me(Which to me personally, in most restaurants, that's a good sign! It means the food is cooked fresh to order). But I realize they had a dinner rush cause I overheard from another booth that this was the busiest that they have seen them, I'm assuming that couple were regulars at this location. LOL!! This place is a joke!!! We drove from Seattle all the way too auburn for their hot pot pho.. guess what.. ITS NOT EVEN ON THE MENU! The owner posted a instagram post of it . Pho broth was SUPER BLAND! The pho was bland and my soup came out way too cool. Not even warm... and I'd like my soup to be hot. I'll give it to them tho, the pho is pretty big, lots of noodles and meat. Probably explains why 99% of customers I saw there that day were the same people who you'll see at all buffets. We also ordered their grilled chicken rice plate but it wasn't grilled..?!? It was deep fried! We also ordered their che ba ma, so so so Disappointing OMG!! I'm diabetic and I think it was bland! They also use regular milk when it's suppose to be made with coconut milk. I can't find anymore words to describe how bad this place is without being mean. Lucky they opened in auburn and there isn't much of a Vietnamese/asian crowd around to eat because we know how it's suppose to taste. If this place was open in Seattle I guarantee they'll go out of business for their half ass cooking within a couple months. Put some heart into your cooking man! Best Vietnamese restaurant in town since the new owner took over. You need to try their Bun Bo Hue and Bo Kho, the absolute best dishes! The owner is very nice and friendly and accommodating. You can tell she prepares the food with her heart and pays attention to detail so the food is close to what we have in Vietnam. As an example, she will make different sauces for Nem Nuong and Bo Bia while other restaurants will just make the general dipping sauce for everything. She also has seperate herbs for each soup while other restaurant will just have basil and bean sprouts. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Seattle area. read more

This is the second time that i brought my family here. But, this will be our last time dining at Pho J because we dont want to support our local restaurants like Pho J. Food was good and same as service, however the way the owner treated her employees in front of us was unacceptable. That was micromanaging and bullying. There was only 1 server in front of the house, we saw that she had to bring water out, take orders, pick up phones, checkout for customers, brings food and drinks out. It was pretty busy but again, she was by herself in the front for both days that we visited Pho J. The owner was in the kitchen yelling out for her in vietnamese and lecturing her that she had to do faster when the owner rang the bell. The server was explaining that there were lots of customers in the front and she'd be right there. Instead of helping out in the front or having someone else helped, the owner kept on going at the server aggressively. And again today, we sat by the front door, but the owner yelled at the server for a whole good 20 mins nonstop. We couldn't enjoy out food because all we heard were the owner yelling : 'you have to use your head to think', 'you gotta be smarter', 'when i talk to you, do not argue'. That'd be more appropriate if the owner talk to her employees in private or after hour where there is no customer around. Maybe no one pay attention because they were talking in vietnamese and only us can understand, but the owner kept calling her 'may' 'tao' which is used in an aggressive and disrespectful way while talking. For both of our family visits, we left Pho J feeling bad for that server, so we'll not return to be Pho J customer. We really wanted to tell the server to find a better place to work but we dont wanna do in front of her owner and possibly create trouble for her, but i hope you see this review and i hope you will find a better place where you get some respect from your boss. read more

We usually order from this restaurant but we were extremely disappointed this time, the noodles looked like they had been dropped and had something that looked like dirt on them. I usually don't write review unless is extremely good or extremely bad. First of all they forget to give us water second they have on the menu stated that it is fried chicken wings but we it came out i receive two pieces or chicken wings and three pieces of drumstick. Very disappointed I work in the restaurant industry and this doesn't meet my standards. Tables are not clean and no refills on the water. Since I work in the restaurant industry I have to give a tip regardless of the service and the foods. I know restaurants are not easy these days. Upon checking the delivery menu I saw the pricing and dine in pricing are a little different. Dine in pricing is $10.50 for the "chicken wings" for five piece and on the delivery you get 6 for $10. Please update your menu if you want to open a business. The picture shown five pieces of chicken wings and it should be like that. The only saving grace was the short ribs it is soft and the soup base was decent. I hope this place get better until than I will not return anytime soon. It sad that I love vet food ,but this is going to be one of my last locations that I would go on the time being. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the pho I had was mediocre and edible. Also the sliced raw steak for my pho tasted fresh. The rest are cons. I wanted to give this place a chance because I want small businesses to succeed. Regardless of their lower Yelp ratings and an empty'ish restaurant, I decided to give it a go anyway. My order was to-go. I got the special meat combo pho and combo rice dish. CONS: Combo Pho: I asked for less noodles and more broth, the cashier nodded and repeated after me. They gave me LOTS of noodles and less broth. There was hardly any meat compared to other places. The side of green onions were kinda shriveled. The bean sprouts were brownish near the end of their life. Combo Rice Dish: Just ... ugh. When I heard the microwave go off while I was waiting, I knew I was in trouble. BBQ Pork and shortribs appeared to have been re-heated (in the microwave) in broth... that unmistakeable texture. My tiny side salad was topped with ranch (not my choice) and was sitting in the "bbq" soy broth. The meats just tasted old, nowhere near fresh. I know small businesses try to cut corners to survive but I don't cut corners earning my money and would hope to get a $35 meal when I pay for it. Ever get a dining experience where everything was just a blur? That how underwhelming the food was. I thought I had order the grilled chicken rice plate but what I end up with looks to be a lazy teriyaki chicken entree. No grill flavor, no spice, just tasted like chicken glazed with soy sauce. The other proteins were no better. Beef vermicelli was salty and the noodle portion was small. The one thing I did get a lot of was fish sauce. The pho was tasteless. Only 2 pieces of each kind of meat. The pad Thai was not even edible. Looks nothing like the pictures online. The sauce was watered down tomato sauce. Tasted just like tomato juice. Called to complain and she told me it was fish sauce, tomato sauce and other spices.
