My baguette was generously filled with shrimp and pork/lemongrass chicken (they ran out of pork) and the bao bun, which I got with fried chicken and bacon, was much larger than expected. Both were delicious! My favorite was the shrimp, which was cooked perfectly. Both sandwiches came with cilantro, pickled veggies, and jalapeños. Not your average Vietnamese fare. An Asian meets American twist without compromising the flavor. This spot used to be on the weekly rotation when I worked in the area. My favorites are the Thai chili shrimp & pork bao and their spicy torched shrimp & pork rice. Their portions are generous and they do not skimp on the meat. The only criticism I have is that the bao bun does start to fall apart getting soaked with the juices from the meat and sauces. Food is usually ready within 5-10 minutes. A very casual spot to grab a meal with ample amount of seating if you choose to dine in. There is some parking directly in front of the store but there is more towards the back. We got here at 1230pm on a Thursday, parking spots right in front of building. Friendly worker took our order at the front. I ordered the Crunchy Chicken and Bacon Sandwich. Sandwich came out in less than 10 mins. Prices are a little high, but the sandwich was BIG! Easily was almost a foot long and filled with meat and toppings. Flavors were top tier, chicken was indeed crunch as advertised. Restaurant was pretty much empty, but there are about 4 tables for seating. We came in about 10 minutes before they close. And I felt really bad but they were very, very friendly and nice about it. I think they usually mostly cater to lunch customers because they closed at 6 PM. I asked the employee what the most popular sandwiches were and she told me it was definitely the crispy chicken bacon banh mi. We ordered that and a spicy pork shrimp banh mi. Both were excellent! I really liked the bacon one more and my partner really preferred the pork shrimp one more so it worked out. Both were a 10/10!!! Crispy fresh fluffy bread. Not stale at all. And about $35 for both sandwiches and a can of Coke. Beware that crispy chicken will cut up the roof of your mouth though. It was worth every bite!! And they were so big that I could only eat half. Everything is self serve, you order and pay at the counter first, so no service for the guests For the portion vs. cost, it's definitely great value. I've been here three times and I love it. It's the place I didn't know I needed. I love how imaginative they are with new types of banh mi, such as crab, shrimp and ginger. And, they have a choice of bao bun and a french roll for what the sandwiches are served on. The service is great and the people are kind. My only criticism is that I wish they offered appetizers. Each individual component of the sandwich was executed masterfully. The chicken and the bacon was crunchy and tender. The pork was tender and juicy and had a crispy sliver of what I think was fried pork skin. Excellent. The service was acceptable but not exceptional. Was able to stop by urban chops today for a late lunch and decided to try the Thai chili shrimp and pork banh mi. I have been here before and have enjoyed the food so I was shocked that it was empty. Parking is right in front of the store and if busy may be hard to find parking. You order at the counter and seat yourself here with self service water station and sauces. Warning: this is not your standard banh mi you get at Saigon deli or at a pho spot. This is banh mi on steroids with creative fillings that you can't get elsewhere! Additional warning: this sandwich is pretty spicy. I love spice and use Thai chili a bit when I cook so I enjoyed this but I could see this being too spicy for a lot of people. I ordered and paid short of $20 for the sandwich after tip. When my order was ready my sandwich was near the size of a football. The bread was fluffy and crispy. The meat was very flavorful and plentiful! There is visible Thai chopped chili throughout the sandwich. It was delicious and had a very strong kick to it. Shrimps were bouncy and the pork was very juicy and tasty as well. Overall I'd get this again if I feel like something spicy and would give it like an 8.4/10. read more
