    Vegetarian Pho
    Jenna S.

Well, I'm sad this restaurant replaced my drunk pizza place, but overall it looks like it's an upgrade! I was especially happy to see that they had a vegetarian pho - and even more surprising, it was actually pretty good! I appreciate that they cooked the vegetables, but I also would've wanted more variety - it was pretty much only carrots and potatoes. The price point wasn't awful. My friends who ordered meat looked like they got generous portions.

Great pick-me-up during a rainy day! Fast-casual with VERY quick service (order at counter and seat yourself) with a good amount of tables in a modest but clean place. Ordered a small short rib pho, the broth was light but could've been a bit more flavorful, and the meat fell of the bone. Portion was super generous, especially for $14. Chili added a nice fragrance. Vietnamese iced coffee was a bit too sweet.

3.5 STARS Last week was OOOFF with the power outages and jury duty... Time for some self-care with a steaming phở facial! Phở Divis opened in early this month at the former Square Pie Pizza Shop. Same owner as Bánh Mì Viet across the street and at Glen Park. Fast-casual, order at the counter, grab a number placard, and seat yourself. Self-serve water. M E N U Small one pager menu: apps, phở (no bbh), rice places, and bún. F O O D * Chả Giò: Fried Egg Rolls w/ pork, vermicelli, carrot, rice paper (5 pc - $10): https://tinyurl.com/3vx7fzsf Freshly fried, hot and crunchy with a dry filling (little pork). The focus was def on the crunchy wrapper. While the menu states, they use rice paper, they don't. Bummer. Rice paper makes a big difference in texture; i.e crispy-chewy. The accompanying nước chấm was diluted and overly sweet. * Phở Đặc Biệt w/ beef rib, rare beef, meatballs, rice noodles (Small-$14): https://tinyurl.com/2s4a99vz A very basic combo with three proteins (no tripe, tendon, or brisket available). - Broth: Northern-style broth, light and savory. I appreciated that it wasn't hella salty or msg-y but could use more fish sauce for flavor. Not sweet and spice forward like Southern-style. - Rice noodles: Soft and slippery, prefer more of a chewy bite. - Rare beef: Three thin slices of very lean eye round steak. Quite tough since it gets overcooked in the broth. - Meatball: One beef meatball, halved. Tasted like freezer burn. =( - Rib: Rich and fatty, about 2 oz of meat. Served with a plate of fresh bean sprouts, basil, jalapeño, and basil. They don't skimp! Just an fyi, if you have a specific way of enjoying your phở (IFYKYK): - Rare beef on the side - Blanched bean sprouts - Vinegar white onions - Nước béo: fatty broth They don't offer that here (I tried asking). S E R V I C E Super sweet owner-couple and love the fast service! Not trying to be a Karen but one of the young staff needs to be trained to cover their coughs instead of coughing towards customers' faces. A M B I A N C E Casual, minimalist with 7-8 tables and open kitchen. Restroom available. Overall, I'm in the minority and thought the food was just ok, it does the job if you live/work within walking distance in NoPa. It seems catered to the American palate....nothing wrong with that, just manage your expectations if you're used to Viet food in the TL or E Man Jose. 3.5 stars rounded up for their wallet-friendly prices.

Stopped by Pho Divis for lunch after a night out drinking. The broth was extremely flavorful and comforting, but I do wish the ribs had more meat on them. The indoor space is pretty small, so you might have to wait in line on a busier day.

Large bowl of flavorful soup with meat falling off the beef rib, a nice rare thin steak, meat balls and some other tasty parts along with noodles. Before I knew it, I was done with the bowl.

tldr great asian addition to divisadero st, serving up affordable and fresh viet food in a fast casual setting owners of banh mi viet across the street, opened up this new spot specializing in pho and have a pretty limited menu with viet classics! it's great since this street was lacking good asian food friend and i ordered a chicken and beef vermicelli bowl! it was super fresh with sliced lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and plentiful, flavorful meat! the meat is similar to what you get in their banh mis. the dish also came with an egg roll but they initially forgot it but came back with fresh ones when we asked. i did think the fish sauce was a bit on the small size for the size of the dish. super affordable at $13 a bowl! wooohoo no need to go all the way to the sunset or richmond neighborhood for solid viet food. service was friendly and space is super new with sitting for up to about 30 people. here's how you eat here without confusion: you go up to the cashier to put yourself on the waitlist - when ready they give you a call. when u arrive, you order the food fast casual. you get your number, find a table, and they bring you the food. they also have self service water! overall, this is a no frills joint selling great viet food at a great price! i would be happy to return and try the pho when the weather gets colder food 4/5 service 4.5/5 ambiance 4/5 value 5/5

Was so excited a pho spot opened on divis, it had been lacking a pho spot!! The workers were so kind and although it was a full house, we waited only 5 min. You order at the front and get your own water. We got the dac biet pho, short rib pho, and grilled mussels. The broth wasn't good but it wasn't amazing, I think it could have a bit more flavor and richness. I love how it came with short rib, which is so fun and usually really expensive. The meat was not bad. The Vietnamese grilled mussels were not bad too, I like that they had it since I don't see it that often in the city. The prices and portions here were great, so I'll definitely be back! The Vietnamese iced coffee was solid and strong as well

cold chili weather day out , Walking a to check what should I have for lunch, this pho restaurant outside poster short rib pho, I decided to try it and the pho was good the broth was clean with good flavo, after I ordered go seat down with in 5 min my food is ready I will come back again

Amazing!!! Jokingly, I'm scared to write a review for this place because I know the line will be out the door when people discover how good it is! The pho is unbelievable, some of the richest broth and tender meat. The wait time was very fast, the pho came out within 2 minutes and they turn tables really quickly so more people can enjoy the restaurant quicker. The staff is so nice! This will be our new pho place for sure! Can't recommend enough!

Their pho wad quite good. The broth had a lot of great flavor. Wish the bowl had a little more beef meat and noodles. Overall, it was satisfying. The restaurant has minimal service. You order at the register.

So amazing to finally have a pho restaurant on Divisadero! This place is owned by the same people as Banh Mi Viet across the street, and the service is just as prompt and friendly. Good food, clean space, I will definitely be back!

The chicken was cooked very well. Tender and juicy. Garlic noodles were cooked al dente and perfectly seasoned. The two stars of this dish complement each other well. The pickled veggies paired with the dish also provide a refreshing bite of flavor that contrasts the warmth of the garlic noodles and chicken. I highly recommend trying this dish if you haven't done so! 3/5 - Pho with chicken. The chicken was lackluster in this dish, mainly due to its dryness. The broth alone still tasted very good in terms of savoryness and seasoning. It was a bit of a harder finish for us but I would recommend trying their beef with their pho.

My boyfriend got the Charbroiled beef with garlic noodles and imperial rolls (#24) with an extra order of beef. Our meal was super filling and balanced! They don't skimp out on either the noodles or the protein (definitely could have done without the extra beef we ordered). The chicken was juicy but the skin stayed crispy. The charbroiled beef had the smallest hint of sweetness for me. The noodles had a nice chew to them, and were dry but in the best way possible. A lot of garlic noodles tend to be too oily and leave an unpleasant lingering mouthfeel, but that wasn't the case here. The noodles could have used more garlic for my preference, but I think it was well balanced with the flavorful protein and fish sauce. The imperial rolls were okay and a nice crunchy side. I wouldn't get them as a separate appetizer, but only $1 more to add to your dish is unbeatable. Overall a great experience and I'd definitely bring some friends here for a comforting meal.

This older man walks around very ambitious with his little credit card terminal ready to charge anyone who is anyone. He gives no receipt. He is the owner and the waiter. But he does not give any service and just expects tip. All he does is walk around and collect money & does the very minimum. I've given this place multiple chances over the years, but unfortunately each experience has been uncomfortable in one way or another. The first time was around 2022. My family and I arrived about 30 minutes before closing, and the owner told us he would still serve us. After seating us, though, he immediately pressured us to order quickly and told us we had to eat fast because they were closing. I was with my elderly relatives too so just turn us away? If that was the case, it would've been better to simply not seat us. Don't be greedy just bc you want a few bucks. Another time, my husband called to order Hanoi-style pho to go, and the owner responded with unnecessary attitude, saying that's the only kind they serve. LOL, ok. The interaction felt rude for no reason. Most recently, we came on Mother's Day. The dishwasher/staff member was also unfriendly. The bun cha was decent according to my mom, and my husband said the beef stew noodle dish was okay, but my pho lacked flavor entirely. I wasn't expecting it to compare to pho in Vietnam or even San Jose, but it tasted very bland so I didn't finish it. The service from the owner continues to be the biggest issue. When we paid, he stood over us while I counted cash, so I felt pressure to count fast and add tip quickly. He left then came back a few seconds later then quickly grabbed the money without even asking whether I needed change and disappeared faster than the wind. The whole interaction felt awkward and pushy. He has a very strange personality. After several experiences like this, we won't be returning.
