Nice little spot in the marina. The imperial rolls were average. The beef pho broth had really good flavor and the meat ratio was good. It was pretty busy when I came in around 7pm on a Saturday. It was just me but they seated me pretty quickly. The noise level was average with many people talking amongst their tables. I would recommend this spot if you want a quick bowl of pho. The restaurant is clean and the staff working are kind.

My friends had the shaken beef and the pho, while I had the seasoned veggie garlic noodles. We all enjoyed our meals!!

From the outside off busy Lombard Street, this place doesn't look like much. Inside you'll find a clean bustling dining area that can get a bit loud at times. Three words: five spice chicken. I noticed that these words featured prominently in most of the dishes here. After one bite I knew why. I ordered the vermicelli noodle bowl with, you got it, the five spice chicken. The outer layer of the chicken skin was crispy with an infused flavor of five spice. The chicken was tender and the noodles were done just right. Looking forward to trying out their other dishes!

Staff was friendly. I was craving some pho, but saw they had bun rieu on the menú. The order came out Quick. I enjoyed the favor of the broth- crabby, salty, smooth. Will try the pho next time.

Sunday morning pho is such a must. My friend and I tried Ly's since it was near where we were going to spending our day. We got there around noon and didn't have to wait for a table. There was a good amount of people in the restaurant. Beef pho (4/5): I ordered the beef pho with 1 item which was the brisket. You can do 1, 2, or 3 item for the beef pho too. The broth was good. Didn't really need to add much. The beef was nice and tender. Slices were a bit small. I do wish there were more toppings (green onion, cilantro, onions). Overall, a solid pho spot. Interior seemed like just a regular Vietnamese restaurant which is surprising for the area. Service was quick. They can split the check for you too which is always a plus. They have a good variety of noodle soups on the menu too.

My chicken pho was delicious and the broth was amazing. It had such a fabulous flavor and taste. Granted I haven't been here in at least 8 years and I was not disappointed. However the protein or chicken was much smaller than before. Service was quick, I got a table immediately and my meal came within 15 minutes. The ambiance is older but clean.

An impromptu, but turned out to be just the perfect dinner! Big portions, friendly staff. Bun Rieu is a crab paste pho. Not spicy, fortunately. Beef Satay Pho is more beef spicy pho, peanut taste is subtle. Will be back when craving the next bowl of pho (very soon in these fall/winter months!)

Love this place (especially after a night out)! I came here for the first time on a Sunday morning and there was nobody else inside but when I came on a Saturday night it was packed with a line waiting! They keep people moving in and out fairly quickly though because service is great. I usually get the pho with rare steak and brisket and it feels so healing. I like to add some hoisin sauce, sriracha, and lime to my broth and it's absolutely delicious. Vibes inside are also good. Highly recommend!

Great place total gem of the neighborhood great find. They have the best five spice chicken. It is fine so some people might not love it as much as I do. There are five spice chicken dishes of all type. My table mate had the Pork bun which she said was perfectly prepared and maintained. Sometimes awaiting to get in, but it's totally worth it all of my friends from New York and Vietnam love this place. I highly recommend it..

I came here on a Friday night with my friends because we were craving warm, comforting soup on that chilly night. We walked to this place since we were in the area. Street parking seemed difficult since everyone was going out that night. For us, we took the muni here, so we didn't have to worry about it. When we walked in, the interior felt cozy with the scent of the hot soup wafting in the air. There were a few tables available, so we were able to be seated immediately. Funny enough, all six of us wanted the Beef Combo Pho, so when our waitress came to the table, we looked at each other and announced that we all wanted Beef Combo Pho. Our food came within 15 minutes, and it was like passing it down the line like an assembly line, haha. The pho was nice and hot. I personally prefer thick rice noodles rather than vermicelli, but it was still good. I think it was a good bowl of beef pho, and it satisfied our craving. They had a lot of noodles in my bowl, so it was filling. If I am ever in the area again and craving pho, I would come back again!

This is a pretty standard local Vietnamese restaurant. The grilled pork was a great balance of sweet and savory. The five spice chicken was well seasoned with slightly crispy skin. The pho broth was light and comforting. The Thai iced tea had a good level of sweetness. The restaurant was quite empty for a late Sunday lunch, so there was no wait. Our food was served quickly after ordering. The music ranges from American pop to Chinese throwbacks.

Ly's is in a nice location near the Marina. Parking on lombard is going to be rough so strongly recommend looking near Moscone Park or in the neighborhoods around. Walking distance Fort Mason and Marina Green Food was well priced, a casual lunch for two ended up only being just over $20 a person. Selection was also solid. Food was ok, nothing super special. The chicken pho had a nice clean flavor and was a light bowl. Solid and simple. The filet mignon shaken beef was also fine. I think the beef was a little over cooked, and as a result a little tough. I also thought the portion of meat was a bit small considering youre paying a premium. Overall ok, if youre looking for vietnamese food in the area then worth considering!

    Crab Paste Noodle Soup

I was around the area and was searching for restaurants near by. Ly's popped up and was highly rated, and I was in the mood for some Vietnamese food. The restaurant was pretty spacious, with a few customers dining in. The service was fast, got water, utensils, and food came shortly afterwards. I ordered the crab paste noodle soup based on the photos and other yelpers raving about it. It did not disappoint! Broth was flavorful and came with side of bean sprouts and cabbage. Super good, and I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again. Come check it out!

You end up with a lot of food on the table so it's nice that the tables are huge! We ordered a bunch of things, including their beef carpaccio, beef wrap, grilled pork, and imperial roll dishes, but I think what stood out the most were the prawns! The food is really good and fresh, but beware that their most popular items do contain peanuts inside of them. The river prawns were a bit overrated in my opinion. Overcooked and bit tough, and chewy would not get them again. Ask for extra napkins up front since you do end up eating with your hands most of it.

My boyfriend got the Charbroiled beef with garlic noodles and imperial rolls (#24) with an extra order of beef. Our meal was super filling and balanced! They don't skimp out on either the noodles or the protein (definitely could have done without the extra beef we ordered). The chicken was juicy but the skin stayed crispy. The charbroiled beef had the smallest hint of sweetness for me. The noodles had a nice chew to them, and were dry but in the best way possible. A lot of garlic noodles tend to be too oily and leave an unpleasant lingering mouthfeel, but that wasn't the case here. The noodles could have used more garlic for my preference, but I think it was well balanced with the flavorful protein and fish sauce. The imperial rolls were okay and a nice crunchy side. I wouldn't get them as a separate appetizer, but only $1 more to add to your dish is unbeatable. Overall a great experience and I'd definitely bring some friends here for a comforting meal.

This older man walks around very ambitious with his little credit card terminal ready to charge anyone who is anyone. He gives no receipt. He is the owner and the waiter. But he does not give any service and just expects tip. All he does is walk around and collect money & does the very minimum. I've given this place multiple chances over the years, but unfortunately each experience has been uncomfortable in one way or another. The first time was around 2022. My family and I arrived about 30 minutes before closing, and the owner told us he would still serve us. After seating us, though, he immediately pressured us to order quickly and told us we had to eat fast because they were closing. I was with my elderly relatives too so just turn us away? If that was the case, it would've been better to simply not seat us. Don't be greedy just bc you want a few bucks. Another time, my husband called to order Hanoi-style pho to go, and the owner responded with unnecessary attitude, saying that's the only kind they serve. LOL, ok. The interaction felt rude for no reason. Most recently, we came on Mother's Day. The dishwasher/staff member was also unfriendly. The bun cha was decent according to my mom, and my husband said the beef stew noodle dish was okay, but my pho lacked flavor entirely. I wasn't expecting it to compare to pho in Vietnam or even San Jose, but it tasted very bland so I didn't finish it. The service from the owner continues to be the biggest issue. When we paid, he stood over us while I counted cash, so I felt pressure to count fast and add tip quickly. He left then came back a few seconds later then quickly grabbed the money without even asking whether I needed change and disappeared faster than the wind. The whole interaction felt awkward and pushy. He has a very strange personality. He's honestly very sleazy and has bad energy After several experiences like this, we won't be returning.
