    Pho 808 have the chops

There are lots places in the Tenderloin for Pho in San Francisco . There is Pho 2000 in the Tenderloin which is one of the best places to grab Pho is San Francisco. I decided to try a Pho place with a number attached to its namesake because they are usually serving good Pho. I decided to go to Pho 808 which gets its name from its address number on Geary street like some restaurants in San Francisco such as 606 , 707Sutter and One65. It's seems there is a numbers game going on with the names for San Francisco establishments . Once inside I had in mind the Pho Ga. The Pho was a bit mild but you can add some seasoning which makes the chicken delicious. The only thing I wish it had and preferred are the skinnier noodles which I did not acknowledge until after the fact I was served the thicker noodles. Next time I will request the thinner noodles instead of getting the default thicker noodles. The soup broth was tasty and had good portions of Pho. I then got the pork chop for more protein and it was tender and flavorful . Pho 808 is worth the try. "Pho 808 "is not a name for a bass machine or the area code of entire Hawaii "state "it's the address of a place to get different types Vietnamese food by the "plate "located in the Tenderloin in on 808 Geary street one of many restaurants names in San Francisco establishments which " numerate " Pho "equate" to meaning noodle soup in Vietnamese when in English you "translate" and isn't the best Pho I ever "ate" but the search for best Pho in San Francisco is still up for "debate"

The front having a computer set up for the owner's kids to play told me all I needed to know about the place. No homework was being done during my time there but I'm sure it's a rite of passage the kid has gone through before :) Owner's were friendly and food came out quick and was a good portion for the price.

Listen, it's taken me a while to get to this Tendernob place. I enjoy a hearty bowl of pho ga and have found my favorites like Pho Ga out on Noriega (review: https://yelp.to/HD-RV4FKRA) and Golden Lotus in Little Saigon (review: https://yelp.to/RHKY1aveLM). But, hey, I'm an open-minded pho slurper, and I can always add another favorite if the business warrants such a lofty designation. I came in one afternoon and was their only customer. It was no surprise I ordered the $14.95 Chicken Noodle Soup (Photo 7). That's their pho ga in case you were wondering, and I first have to admit I was a bit bummed that they didn't offer gizzards, livers, and hearts as optional add-ons. I'm an innards type of guy but not here. When it arrived, the pho itself was decent with plenty of chicken with the skin left intact. A plus for my taste, and the noodles had a pretty good chew. Really nothing outstanding about the broth, but I did finish it. Nothing much else to say since the manager was chatting with her friend throughout my time here. FOOD - 3 stars...decent, no-frills pho ga AMBIANCE - 3 stars...nothing fancy in here, spacious enough SERVICE - 3 stars...didn't feel the love myself TOTAL - 3 stars...workaday Vietnamese spot on Geary amid a lot of other choices in the 'hood RELATED - Exploring the Tenderloin? Very good spot for pho I also had their spring rolls and imperial rolls very flavorful, the lady there is very nice not sure if it's her son or grandson that cooks in the kitchen but the food is good and worth your money,it gives small pop and shop vibes, family owned vibes.

Service was nice, my soup was amazing but the establishment can use a good cleaning. I didn't like sitting next to dusty furniture and a dusty window sill while eating my soup. Every time I moved the dust moved. The soup isn't the best I've had but it was good for sure. I had the beef pho

I've been hanging in San Francisco a bit & taking advantage of all the Vietnamese restaurants & unfortunately they are in some pretty raunchy neighborhoods but it didn't deter me from going. So off I go for dinner while there is still daylight. The restaurant is absent of any ambience, plastic table cloths, typical low budget decor and too much clutter exposed. The altar with their diety had clutter surrounding it too. It's a pretty large space so there is lots of excess stuff. Now the food, I ordered a beef combo with vermicelli, it comes in a large bowl with a couple greasy vegetable rolls. As I was eating & challenged myself with chopsticks I found all the glorious salad, mint & cucumbers at the bottom of the bowl and if I didn't dig a little I would not have been able to include them in my bite size morsels. It made the meal more satisfying. This place gets good reviews for the food, portions & price.

Came here on a Wednesday, and got seated immediately. Ordered the pho ga & the rare steak/well done flank pho and both were delicious! The broth was rich & warm. Service was fast & very polite. Both bowls about $15 each & generous portions. Would definitely go again for some good inexpensive pho.

Came here on Friday evening and got a table straight away for two. Ambiance is casual and good for quick meal. I had the vermicelli bowl with shrimp and egg roll and it was very tasty and good portion size. Husband got pho with rare beef and flank. The flank pieces were a bit too fatty compared to other places. Broth was tasty. One of the better places for a cheap and cheerful Vietnamese meal in the city!

I ordered barbecue pork with egg roll and vermicelli rice. It came in a very big bowl. They served me hot tea. Very flavorful fish sauce, is served the long side. Delicious food everyone come here. The owner Shih shion wu it's very nice and polite.

I love this place !!! It only 5 minutes walk from my Apt. I came here to eat after a hard day of work. It was cold outside but the beef noodle soup was really tasty and make my body and heart full with warm love. The owners were so sweet and nice to me. Of course the food were super delicious ! Everything is so clean. I feel so good so comfortable eating here.

This is more a review for the food. I liked the food pictures and reviews I saw on Yelp so I put in for a delivery. I can say the food was delicious and they do read the instructions you put on your order. Mine was, "No plastic utensils, but two pairs of chopsticks is most appreciated. Plenty of napkins and lots of hot mustard. Other condiments not needed." Delivery was within 35 minutes. I would totally order delivery from them again.

Came here for one thing, Bun Bo Hue (BBH) which is a spicy pork soup that ha similar to pho but not really. When we arrived for dinner at about 6:30 one of the old lady waitresses was sleeping in a hammock that is on right side right as you walk in. I immediately busted out with laughter and gave her a hard time. 3/5 - BBH - this was my first time trying this dish and I wasn't impressed. It lacked flavor and I didn't like the spaghetti like noodles. I prefer pho. 3/5 - Spring rolls - very standard with the peanut butter dipping sauce

I highly recommend trying this dish if you haven't done so! 3/5 - Pho with chicken. The chicken was lackluster in this dish, mainly due to its dryness. The broth alone still tasted very good in terms of savoryness and seasoning. My boyfriend got the Charbroiled beef with garlic noodles and imperial rolls (#24) with an extra order of beef. Our meal was super filling and balanced! They don't skimp out on either the noodles or the protein (definitely could have done without the extra beef we ordered). The chicken was juicy but the skin stayed crispy. The charbroiled beef had the smallest hint of sweetness for me. The noodles had a nice chew to them, and were dry but in the best way possible. A lot of garlic noodles tend to be too oily and leave an unpleasant lingering mouthfeel, but that wasn't the case here. The noodles could have used more garlic for my preference, but I think it was well balanced with the flavorful protein and fish sauce. The imperial rolls were okay and a nice crunchy side. I wouldn't get them as a separate appetizer, but only $1 more to add to your dish is unbeatable. Overall a great experience and I'd definitely bring some friends here for a comforting meal.

I've given this place multiple chances over the years, but unfortunately each experience has been uncomfortable in one way or another. The first time was around 2022. My family and I arrived about 30 minutes before closing, and the owner told us he would still serve us. After seating us, though, he immediately pressured us to order quickly and told us we had to eat fast because they were closing. I was with my elderly relatives too so just turn us away? If that was the case, it would've been better to simply not seat us. Don't be greedy just bc you want a few bucks. Another time, my husband called to order Hanoi-style pho to go, and the owner responded with unnecessary attitude, saying that's the only kind they serve. LOL, ok. The interaction felt rude for no reason. Most recently, we came on Mother's Day. The dishwasher/staff member was also unfriendly. The bun cha was decent according to my mom, and my husband said the beef stew noodle dish was okay, but my pho lacked flavor entirely. I wasn't expecting it to compare to pho in Vietnam or even San Jose, but it tasted very bland so I didn't finish it. The service from the owner continues to be the biggest issue. When we paid, he stood over us while I counted cash, so I felt pressure to count fast and add tip quickly. He left then came back a few seconds later then quickly grabbed the money without even asking whether I needed change and disappeared faster than the wind. The whole interaction felt awkward and pushy. He has a very strange personality. After several experiences like this, we won't be returning.
