Pho Dac Biet $16

The front having a computer set up for the owner's kids to play told me all I needed to know about the place. No homework was being done during my time there but I'm sure it's a rite of passage the kid has gone through before :) Owner's were friendly and food came out quick and was a good portion for the price.

First impression: a nice humble restaurant with a few tables and chairs a billiards table, an altar and a nice china cabinet. The food: Rare Beef Pho, the broth is super rich without being overly salty or heavy. Really tremendous all on its own, no siracha, hoisin or chili sauce needed! But I just had to add some siracha for a little hint of sweetness and some spice. Sooooo goood. I'm traveling from out of town and while we were walking around looking for another Viet Restaurant we found out they only take cash. And I had none. We meandered around looking for other options when we were graced with Pho 808 and I don't regret it! The lady running the place, is graceful, quick and attentive. I'll definitely come back here when I'm back in SF!

A solid place to grab some pho at affordable prices. The broth really hit the spot. The noodles were also good too.

Pho,shrimp spring rolls and imperial rolls

Very good spot for pho I also had their spring rolls and imperial rolls very flavorful, the lady there is very nice not sure if it's her son or grandson that cooks in the kitchen but the food is good and worth your money,it gives small pop and shop vibes, family owned vibes.

Service was nice, my soup was amazing but the establishment can use a good cleaning. I didn't like sitting next to dusty furniture and a dusty window sill while eating my soup. Every time I moved the dust moved. The soup isn't the best I've had but it was good for sure. I had the beef pho

I've been hanging in San Francisco a bit & taking advantage of all the Vietnamese restaurants & unfortunately they are in some pretty raunchy neighborhoods but it didn't deter me from going. So off I go for dinner while there is still daylight. The restaurant is absent of any ambience, plastic table cloths, typical low budget decor and too much clutter exposed. The altar with their diety had clutter surrounding it too. It's a pretty large space so there is lots of excess stuff. Now the food, I ordered a beef combo with vermicelli, it comes in a large bowl with a couple greasy vegetable rolls. As I was eating & challenged myself with chopsticks I found all the glorious salad, mint & cucumbers at the bottom of the bowl and if I didn't dig a little I would not have been able to include them in my bite size morsels. It made the meal more satisfying. This place gets good reviews for the food, portions & price.

Came here on a Wednesday, and got seated immediately. Ordered the pho ga & the rare steak/well done flank pho and both were delicious! The broth was rich & warm. Service was fast & very polite. Both bowls about $15 each & generous portions. Would definitely go again for some good inexpensive pho.

Came here on Friday evening and got a table straight away for two. Ambiance is casual and good for quick meal. I had the vermicelli bowl with shrimp and egg roll and it was very tasty and good portion size. Husband got pho with rare beef and flank. The flank pieces were a bit too fatty compared to other places. Broth was tasty. One of the better places for a cheap and cheerful Vietnamese meal in the city!

I love this place !!! It only 5 minutes walk from my Apt. I came here to eat after a hard day of work. It was cold outside but the beef noodle soup was really tasty and make my body and heart full with warm love. The owners were so sweet and nice to me. Of course the food were super delicious ! Everything is so clean. I feel so good so comfortable eating here.

This is more a review for the food. I liked the food pictures and reviews I saw on Yelp so I put in for a delivery. I can say the food was delicious and they do read the instructions you put on your order. Mine was, "No plastic utensils, but two pairs of chopsticks is most appreciated. Plenty of napkins and lots of hot mustard. Other condiments not needed." Delivery was within 35 minutes. I would totally order delivery from them again.

Came here for one thing, Bun Bo Hue (BBH) which is a spicy pork soup that ha similar to pho but not really. When we arrived for dinner at about 6:30 one of the old lady waitresses was sleeping in a hammock that is on right side right as you walk in. I immediately busted out with laughter and gave her a hard time. 3/5 - BBH - this was my first time trying this dish and I wasn't impressed. It lacked flavor and I didn't like the spaghetti like noodles. I prefer pho. 3/5 - Spring rolls - very standard with the peanut butter dipping sauce

The quality is always on point (you get what you pay for) and the process is easy to preorder. The main thing to plan for is the long wait in line to pick up your preorder. In prior years, I've usually picked up on Christmas Eve and the wait can exceed 90 mins to 2 hours depending on when you arrive - this is the case even when you doorbust at opening time. This year, we picked up on the 23rd and arrived around opening time, and it only took 30 minutes. There are also very high quality pantry goods to peruse and purchase, including pasta, mustards, spices, tinned goods, etc. Onto the meat: I preordered late this year so got 21 day aged prime rib roast (would usually aim for 45+ days), but honestly it was hard to tell the difference. I ordered the roast pre seasoned, cradled and tied for ease and it was very high quality, easy to cook and delicious. Shoutout to the very friendly and hardworking staff at Olivier's - I see yall fighting for your lives trying to control that line every year (lol). Thank you for your service!

The restaurant has an upstairs as well. Our server was very nice and pleasant to speak with. Gave us some recommendations on the menu as well as drinks. We started with a cocktail and a glass of red wine. For our appetizer we had the Pulpo, coliflor and Hueso Asado. The pulpo which is octopus was nice and tender. Really delicious. The coliflor was okay. It was a little dense for me. The Hueso Asado was scrumptious, buttery and full of flavor, but half of a bone marrow was too small for an appetizer and only served with 4 small thin crostini. For entree we had the Ojo de Bife and Malbec short ribs. The Ojo de Bife which is the rib eye was delicious and grilled perfectly. The meat was not as tender, but the meat itself had a lot of flavor. The short ribs were excellent! Very tender and scrumptious. I would order this again. They should bring back the beef tongue or Lengua. I heard it is a must try. Anyway, we had a great time. It was a great atmosphere and love the vibe on this place. Would definitely come back!

Reservations are usually booked 4-6 months out, but my friend and I managed to score bar seats after about an hour wait. From start to finish they take care of you. It's like that mastered their plan without blinking. No tableside cart service at the bar, but we still gottheir signature 13 oz cut: juicy, tender, and packed with old-school steakhouse flavor. For sides, we went with the creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and the un sung hero of the night, the Yorkshire pudding. House of Prime Rib absolutely lived up to the hype, and honestly, the waitlist makes complete sense. If you're trying to get in sooner, the bar is definitely the move for a solo dinner or a night out with a friend. The atmosphere almost takes you back to the mid 90's in a great way. This is definitely a place I'd go to again with a friend day of to see if they have canceled reservations. #SFeats #sfrestaurants #houseofprimerib #SanFrancisco #fyp

Unfortunately, over the past decade, I've noticed the service steadily declining. My last few visits have all been disappointing from a service standpoint. The staff used to be warm, attentive, and professional, but lately many of the servers have come across as unenthusiastic, dismissive, and sometimes even sarcastic. I'm not sure what changed, but it's a noticeable difference from the HOPR experience I remember. I always order the King Henry cut with a loaded baked potato and cream of corn, and the food is usually excellent. Last night, however, was a letdown from start to finish. We arrived around 9 pm without reservations. The hostess was friendly and gave us an estimated wait time, suggesting we also put our names in with the bar since that line sometimes moves faster. The bartender, unfortunately, was rude from the start. When I politely asked where we were in the queue, his response was simply, "Before the end of the night." Obviously we knew we'd be seated before closing, but he didn't even bother checking our names. The interaction felt dismissive, as though he couldn't care less about helping us. It almost felt like we were an inconvenience because we weren't ordering drinks while waiting. Ironically, the hostess ended up seating us before the bar ever did. Given his attitude, I honestly wouldn't have been surprised if we had been skipped altogether. Once seated, I thought the worst was behind us, but then my prime rib arrived cold. The portion was huge, so I tried to overlook it, but it was still disappointing. The meal felt rushed overall, and even the salad didn't seem as fresh and ice-cold as it usually is. The food is still good enough that I'll continue coming back, just like many loyal customers who return specifically for the prime rib. But it's frustrating to see service standards continue to slip without improvement. HOPR still has an incredible product, I just wish the customer experience matched the quality of the food.
