Young Chow Fried Rice (Shrimp & Barbecued Pork) 楊洲炒飯

Came here with my brothers for dinner and this spot did not disappoint! The menu is packed with the usual Cantonese classics you would expect to find in Chinatown. The prices for dine-in were quite reasonable and there were plenty of seating inside. Place seems to have a lot of history in the city with all the famous celebrities that ventured into this humble spot like Jackie Chan and Jacques Pepin! We ordered a lot of their comfort food options, and everything we had hit the mark! A few of the dishes that we loved were the prawns with scrambled eggs, minced pork steamed with salted egg, and fish fillet with asparagus in black bean sauce. Everything was cooked properly, seasoned well, and the portion sizes were great for what you pay. The service was quick and efficient. We were able to pick our own table, and the place had that family run vibe I love. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to me and my brothers. We will definitely be back for more late-night dinners here, especially when this place opens until 11pm!

The lunch I had delivered to my place from a delivery app was delicious. The pork fried rice really hit the spot for me. I highly recommend this place. The service was also amazing and the ambiance was just as good from what I read in other reviews. I give them 5 stars

Came here with the family for dinner. This spot is somewhat of a hole-in-the-wall local shop. No frill Chinese spot beloved by locals. It has tables that accommodate anywhere from 4-8 people. We ordered dishes to share family style. My favorite was the salt and pepper pork chop as it wasn't too fatty but had the salty kick snd crispy texture. Best eaten with white rice. The Mongolian beef was decent but more on the spicier and saucier side. My least favorite was the noodles it was very bland and without much curry flavor as it's supposed to. Overall, this is a great spot for lunch and dinner.

Came today for a late lunch. Ordered Beef Chow Fun and Fried Calamari. The waiter was really nice. Dishes were delicious. I would definitely come back .

Fried Intestines was good but small portions. Beef tenderloin and fried Sam see horfun was bland. The Peking spareribs was good. Fish and green beans was just okay. Best is the fried tofu filled with fish! Will try the BBQ pork fried rice, salt pepper squid, and clam in black bean sauce, egg gravy shrimp horfun next time

If you must, late night food after the bars. The food is ok and I would come back to try more seafood dishes. After 5 bars, we stumbled in and ordered the Beef Oyster Sauce, Sechuan Chicken wings & Prawns with Egg over rice. The staff is super friendly and service is fast, but I'd go here more for casual fast food.

A homestyle late night eatery with authentic Cantonese dishes. The environment is friendly and comfortable. The sizzle of the wok is a constant refrain and the food can be spicy!

This was my first time coming here. The vegetables in my bowl of noodles had worms and were spoiled, not fresh at all. The service wasn't terrible, but they kept refusing my requests when I asked about the chili. I will never come back. Very disappointing hygiene standards.

I been coming to this place since I was a baby. Place still looks the same with the same pictures on the walls. Food is way more expensive now but just as good I think. Staff are still pretty nice. And you can always count on the food to be cooked up with consistent "wok hay" I always order the clams in black bean sauce and beef chow fun. This place is so nostalgic for me.

If you're looking for a great place to have some yummy Chinese food. This is the place. We ordered hot and sour soup which was amazing. It was nice and hot though out our whole meal. We then ordered my absolute favorite, chicken black bean sauce with green beans. And let me tell you it was the best I've ever had. We also got the duck. It was good. I just wish the skin was a little crispier. I will definitely come back again.

Nice surprise - a restaurant down the block referred us to Yuet Lee. Super good although they are on a noise street. We had veggies, beef chow fun and clay pot with hom ha (comfort food) We were able to talk and not have to yell. The staff super nice good home style cooking. Thank you!

Loved this hidden gem of very authentic Chinese food. Stumbled across this place with a friend on Saturday evening. It's definitely has a hole in the wall interior, but like most Chinese spots, this added to its authenticity. The food was delicious, and the roast duck was especially solid. Interestingly, it got quite packed late into the night. I would definitely come back.

Our party of 4 ordered the fried hawt rabbit, spicy Singaporean crab with fried milk bread, Hong Kong black pepper steak, and beef chow fun noodles to share family style. Overall, we were super impressed with all the food. Everything other than the chow fun were super unique, but all the flavor combinations worked so well together. While the chow fun wasn't unique, I'd say it's still a very solid dish. Everyone in my party left full and satisfied. The food is a bit on the pricey side for it what it is, so I wouldn't come here regularly but I think that it's worth coming for a special occasion. Service here is super friendly and attentive--our waitress checked in on us frequently and brought us extra napkins and gloves for our food, which was super appreciated. I also appreciate the free peanuts and cucumber salad that you get when you're seated. My boyfriend and I ordered a lot of food because we wanted to try so many things! The lamb skewer was super moist and had a nice flavor. The XO escargot with milkbread had a nice buttery, garlic taste. The milk bread was fluffy and when dipped in the sauce it tasted very rich. We also got the clay pot rice and it reminded me of when I had it in China. The rice was crispy at the bottom and well seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the squab. It was cooked excellently and the skin was really crispy. The five spice powder on the side really brought out the flavor of the meat. The eggplant was cooked well and portion was good but it didn't stand out as much as the other dishes. Overall, I would visit this place again. It definitely lives up to the hype. The squab and and clay pot rice were the stand outs to me but all the other food was really tasty as well.

So far only one has come close! This is all I remember from that place and how delish it was. Fast forward to yesterday. They were really nice and welcoming as soon as I went in. We didn't want to order too much, so we only got the beef hor fun and green onion pancakes. The pancakes were so good! Nice and chewy on the inside and crunch on the outside. The chow fun I had really high hopes for. My memories as a child having had chow fun all the time, had this distinct taste to it and made a certain way. Their chow fun was good, but I think it was lacking a little flavor? I also wish they used the wider noodles instead of these thinner ones. :( It wasn't bad at all, I just had a certain expectation. So far, there's only one place that is reminiscent of what I remember and it's in Sacramento. That being said, we will still come back because I would love to try the Simon's garlic chicken and more of the pancakes!

It had its signature flavor but felt watered down. I would pass on it or give it another try. Loved the tea eggs ! It's very hard to find a place that does it right. You can tell that the eggs were marinated enough by the color and perfectly salted. If I lived around here, I would get this all the time for breakfast! The congee itself was very good, nice flavor and the rice was cooked perfectly. The pork liver was definitely overcooked and dry, I would skip the liver and go for something else. The wontons and soup dumplings were so good! 5/5 I love that they don't mince the shrimp, instead they cut it half which gives each bite the perfect texture. The soup was made very well- nice and light. Favorite part was the soup dumplings. I'd dare say, these taste better than Din Tai Fung in SJ. 6 pieces instead of 10 but the size of these dumplings were massive. I was afraid they would be dry but that wasn't the case at all! Every bite had hot soup spilling out it and the soup was amazing! It had just the right amount of salt. They give you a side of vinegar which adds a tang to it ! This is a must get !!
