Holy wow..Best ca phe sua da I've had ever had. Wow. Definitely the sweetest one I've had, and the flavor is really smooth. Can't really taste the biting flavor of the coffee. And the pho... Got the pho gàn sách and added bò vien (meatballs). Broth was amazing. Really good service and place was full for lunch when we went. (Meaning this place must be really good.) I love that they have small, medium, and large bowls to choose from. I normally don't eat that much so a small was a good size for me. Friend got the medium while her dad got the large. The Binh family owns alot of these. They all have their own hours, menu and personalities. But the pho is the same, Grade A bad A$$. First let me say I have never tried all of their locations, nor have I tried their original trailer location. But once I was shown the way of the bone marrow in to the soup, I was addicted. The big difference here is that this location do not always have the bone marrow. Which doesn't make it bad, just not as buttery smooth as Pho Binh By Night. But the broth is still really really great. And the bonus is that they open at 7am, pho for break fast anyone? I love both at this location and the By Night one down the road. Between the different schedules of the 2 locations, all my waking hour urges are covered. read more

Can't imagine that you would be able to sit quickly otherwise. I would say that the small is very much a small - it would only be appropriate as a snack or to accompany a dish. They accept Visa and Mastercard for purchases over $10. When you're ready to pay for your check, go up to the register. No one drops a tab off at your table. What more can I say about the best pho shop in houston imo that hasn't already been said. When someone asks me why are they better, I simply tell them that it tastes fresh, the broth is unbeatable, veggies look great and fresh and the restaurant is clean. This most recent dining experience, I ordered the brisket and raw steak (steak on the side) and had another great bowl of soup....my only complaint was the jalapeno was not spicy at all. In fact, it tasted remarkably like a bell pepper. Although there was a short wait and you sometimes have to sit literally next to other patrons since some of the tables are very close together, it was all in all worth it. read more

Definitely better than the Pho Binh in westhemier. More authentic and better soup. If you want more variety of food and a bit more westernized dishes, go for the one in westheimer. I ordered number 1 pho with everything in. The soup tasted very neat, and I loved the noodles. It wasn't too sticky or too soft but was very chewy. The beed broth was good too, with no unpleasant aftertaste. Overall I liked the pho, but I'm not sure if this would be the best pho place in houston as some of my friends said. I've been to few other pho places in midtown area that serve very good pho with more variety of side dishes. Pho Binh is my new go-to spot for pho in Houston! Their menu only has pho so you don't have to deal with the struggle of wanting to order everything because it all looks so good (I always battle between vermicelli, pho, or a rice dish in Viet restaurants), nor do you have the possibility of food envy because everyone is pretty much eating almost the same thing. Pho comes in 2 sizes, regular or large, and are both very reasonably priced. The food comes out wicked fast, even for to-go orders (I ordered 3 to-go entrees and it was ready in less than 10 min). The broth is phenomenal - light and flavorful without being too oily or salty - it tasted like how a good broth should taste. The noodles are plentiful and well-made (no clumping!) but so is the meat that comes with each bowl; in fact I had a problem where at the end of my bowl I had too much meat and had to noodle snatch from my husband's larger bowl...that never happens! I've also tried their dry chicken pho (pho ga kho) and really enjoyed it. It's actually my preferred to-go order because keeping the broth and noodles separate is already part of the meal! The chicken is a nice alternative to the beef, tripe, or meatballs I usually get with my pho and I love the little fried things that come with this dish, too. This is probably one of the best (if not THE best place) to get pho around town. They only serve one thing, but they serve it well! I mean, why else would you go to a pho place if you didn't want pho? I always go here for pho when I have a hankering for it. They have 4 different sizes, and I would say that the most normal sized, or expected size bowl of pho is the Medium sized bowl. The small will satisfy you, but you might still be hungry later. If you have a huge appetite, by all means, order the large or the extra large! Pricing is very reasonable, so if you're on a budget and want good and authentic food, why not stop in for some pho! The meal per person costs around $6 to $10, depending on what you get. (It's a great way to treat your friends and seem very generous without breaking the bank. "Sure! get seconds! It's on me this time!") What should I order? Well, for starters, you really only have the choice between pho and pho, so I would go with the pho. They do have a special "dry chicken pho" where the broth comes separately and you can eat the yumminess that is pho in drier proportions. The staple, of course is the Pho Tai, which is the noodles with the sliced raw beef. (Want to look and sound fancy? Ask for the beef on the side, and people will think you're an expert!) A couple of things to be aware of though: 1. Limited spacing- you might have to get cozy with some people if you want a place to sit down and eat. Yes I can't believe I forgot to give this good rating to this place. Although I can't say I am the expert of authentic Vietnamese pho. This is the best i ever had in Houston. I followed them since they were in the old location. They moved to this location for a while too. It's always packed and it's always worth for waiting. They only serve pho beef and chicken. You can tell the broth is prepared the night before. It's delish but not those msg taste. It's clean not greasy. They usually close around 4pm whenever they finish selling the broth they prepared. First off: the 5 stars is not for the pho. Their pho is average. What you need to get is the dry pho, "pho ga kho". This dish changed me life, no exaggeration. I seldom remember to check-in on Yelp, and I am still clocking top check-ins here because this dish is so good. Even though there are other Pho Binh's in the city and they're all related somehow, this is the only location where the pho ga kho is good. The dish alone is worth the 5 stars, hands down. If you would like a side dish to go along, the side of Vietnamese meatballs "bo vien" is also excellent. (In my opinion, the best I've had.) The Vietnamese ice coffee "ca phe sua da" is pretty good here if you're like me and have to drink one with your meal, but you can get much better Viet coffee in other establishments nearby if you can wait. read more

Finally gave in and tried this place out, even though my favorite pho place is across the street. We had to wait a while to be seated. We shared a table with another family; reminds me of Vietnam. I ordered pho with raw meat and meatballs. The price is decent for what they are giving you. The broth was clean. The noodles however was weird to me. It was too chewy for my taste. Service was okay, fast but nothing too special. Overall, I expected more based on the fellow Yelp's reviews. I may come back at some point just in case they just had an off day when I came. I've tried many Pho places over the years but this place is definitely my favorite for Pho Ga Ko (Dry Chicken Noodle with soup on the side). An important thing to note is that this place is very popular especially on weekends so be prepared to wait for a table during peak hours. We came around 10:30 AM on a Sunday and the place was already packed. We waited about 5-10 minutes for a table. The server was very friendly, and quickly took our orders after giving us some time to look over the menu. All of us got the Pho Ga Ko, mine with dark meat only because that's how I like it. You could also request for white meat only if that's your preference (they will give you a mix of white and dark meat if you don't mention anything). And for the bean sprouts on the side, you could also ask for them to be steamed if you prefer that. Our orders were ready in about 10 minutes, and the bowls of noodles smelled delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked and chewy, and the seasoning was just right. The soup on the side was also very savory, and paired perfectly with the dry noodles. However, the portion size was very small compared to other Pho places. I ordered the small size and probably could have finished the medium instead. We quickly realized that their medium size is the same as the small size at many other restaurants. We wished their portion size was bigger for the price. Overall, we left with happy tummies and will definitely be coming back when we have another craving for Pho Ga Ko. I've been going here for over 20 years. I proclaim myself as Pho Binh's #1 fan. There's something addictive about this pho--I try to eat here at least once per week with my family. It's not perfect: the pho can be inconsistent sometimes (some days amazing, some days eh), and the service is friendly but seems to always forget one thing. I am freakin' confused. I've been in Austin for the past 8 years and after finally being in Houston again for a couple weeks, I wanted good pho for once. I know for a fact Houston has the best pho. Back in the day, my parents used to take me to the Pho Binh Beechnut location, and I remember it being lip-smackin' good. We used to even trek out to the Pho Binh trailer location once a month and I remember being in Pho heaven everytime. I ask my Pho expert Dad where the best pho is in Houston. The guy doesn't stop, "Pho Binh Bellaire Pho Binh Bellaire omg Pho Binh Bellaire ngon qua omg..." Since Houston has the best pho, and my dad says Pho Binh Bellaire is the best in Houston...I instantly pee in my pants. So I visit the new Pho Binh on Bellaire. I wait for 25 minutes in the 5ft x 5ft waiting area with 30 other Vietnamese people. All of us...mouths watering. I order a large "Pho Chin Nam Gan". This is what I get: -Mirky, very starchy broth with mushy noodles as if the noodles were cooked in the broth itself and not separately. The broth didn't even have any flavor depth. What does that even mean?? -Thumbs up for the beef being tender and well cut, but the beef tendon was thin, lacked texture, and mixed in with tripe that I didn't order. Didn't order tripe! Why is there tripe?? -And are you supposed to actually order the onion/green onion/cliantro garnishings and the standard bean sprout/basil plate? I assumed all of that would come with my bowl like at any other pho restaurant, but I didn't get any green onions and cilantro, nor did I get my bean sprout plate with basil and limes. My life sucks right now. -OH...and I only got 2 napkins. TWO napkins? When I eat pho, I require 20 napkins. Why? Because I sweat so much that if I don't have 20 napkins, sweat drops off my chin into my pho bowl like a super leaky faucet and makes my pho saltier and saltier by quarter-minute. You probably think I'm super awesome right now, which is correct of you, but it is also that I am one to experience pure pho broth flavor - not my own salty-sweat-infused pho broth flavor. I want 20 napkins. All I wanted was to eat the best pho in Houston, which would have been the best pho in the US, which would have been the best pho in the world because I hear Vietnam doesn't even make as good pho as us. Pho Binh in my opinion is the best in SE Houston and perhaps best in Houston but I havent tried all the pho restaurants yet. I have been going to this location since I was a child. I remember the evolution of the size of my bowl. Went from sharing with my mother to eating a full large by myself. I personally love the Pho Ga Kho, which literally translate to Dry Chicken. Its a bowl of noodles with a bowl of soup on the side There is a lot of fresh herbs and dry roasted onions with beautiful thin slices of chicken. The chicken broth is savory and have a sweet clear flavor(no msg taste). The beef pho have a sweet natural bone taste to it compared to artificial taste from majority of other restaurants. I usually make my sisters or mother order a large so I can bum off of theirs. This place will always have a place in my heart, it brings back to Sunday brunch after church. Cons: It is a small establishment so there is a huge rush after church. They only make a certain amount of broth everyday, if they run out, they are out. And they tend to take two months off in the summer to go to Viet Nam so the whole restaurant closes. This place isnt glamorous and the service isnt amazing. It is all about the food. read more

Man, I think I messed up. I thought this was the pho place that had the bone marrow and the veal. When I came in and asked for that, they said not at this location. I think the place with that is Pho A Hung. Anyway, this pho is still pretty good. What stood out was the quality of the noodles...great texture and cooked perfectly. I think the noodles are fresh. The broth was well seasoned and the meats were fresh and good quality as well. Overall, good place for basic pho. In Houston, it's not cold very often or for very long, but when it is, the weather is absolutely perfect for a hot bowl of pho from Pho Binh, which is a chain of four restaurants that serves some of the best pho in town -- all at a great price. Now, the Chinatown location is very much a lunch-only place. Its speedy service and communal seating may detract from the overall dining experience, but it still has the volume and the turnover required to put out a product that is consistently fresh and packed with flavor. This is a pho shop, and so their menu options are pretty limited, but I've stuck to the tried and true combination bowl, which delivers the freshest sliced beef and most tripe that I've ever seen, along with some thinly sliced tendon and thick chunks of steak. This pho is a beef lover's dream -- provided that you're willing to eat every part of the cow, of course. The broth is just amazing, and begging for some sriracha and hoisin added as you deem fit, for that perfect balance of flavor. Lastly, I'd recommend the large bowl, because the small is very small. In the end, if you're a waste-not-want-not kind of person, and if you want to experience pho the way it was intended to be eaten, then you're really cheating yourself if you haven't had a large bowl of combination pho at Pho Binh. read more

I FINALLY got to check this place out after hearing all the hype about the dry noodle chicken. Well that's what I ordered, and it lived up to all its hype. The sauce is very tasty and the noodles soak it in quite well. I was afraid I wouldn't like the chicken because I'm not a huge fan of white meat chicken, but it was very juicy and tender. Ok this review is long overdue. I am a Pho Ga addict. It was Pho Binh that created my craving for Chicken Pho. So when they moved here, I had to hunt them down. This place gives you the option of having light or dark meat. ALWAYS get the soup on the side. It is so full of flavor! Soup on the side is called Pho Ga Kho. This is where you can enjoy the rich chicken essence flavor of the soup. The noodles are specially marinated with natural flavor when you request the Pho to be served like this. The chicken soup is always FULL of natural flavor with no MSG. It is as good as it gets when my grandmother made it. They make the chicken broth by slowly cooking it. Not only is the Pho Ga awesome but it is reasonably priced. You can get a good meal with a drink for under $10. I always get good service here. Even the owner will refill my iced tea. The food comes out fast. There is never a wait for me. The only waiting I do is for seating which gets packed during lunch even on Sundays. They are closed on Mondays so don't make the countless mistake I have made of coming here on Mondays to enjoy lunch. read more

Credentials first: I've eaten at a minimum of 70 Pho places in the last 15 years or so, in more than six states, including at least ten in H town. I've also written the first Jewish-Cajun cookbook ever, and I've been making my own Pho for 2-3 years. I would say that this qualifies me to tell you about what is without a doubt one of the best Pho places I've ever eaten at. When I eat food this good, I just run out of superlatives to describe it. And while I thought that the Brisket Pho was delicious, the real draw and reason to come to this place is the Pho Ga (chicken Pho). I do not possess the words to describe just how delicious this pretty simple bowl of chicken soup was. Without a doubt the richest chicken broth I've ever eaten. The broth was filled with pieces of finely sliced chicken that were so delicious and flavorful that I can still taste them 12 hours later. I was picturing a matzo ball in this soup as it really reminded me of a bowl of very good Jewish chicken soup, with a Viet twist to it. Pho Binh is absolutely legit, and Joey the owner is a hard worker and a gentlemen. You know he's a hard worker as I can't ever remember seeing a restaurant owner bus tables before. Pho Binh is so good I am going back there tomorrow for another bowl of Pho Ga, and I am going to let you all in on a secret,.. it's going to be the 911 bowl. The 911 bowl is an extra gigantic bowl of Pho that is not on the menu, and after sucking down a bowl of brisket Pho and a bowl of Pho Ga yesterday, I think I will be able to conquer Mr. 911. Great pho place to eat! I have been going to Pho Binh since they started out in an itty bitty trailer in southeast Houston. Never once dissatisfied, not once disappointed. The service is quick and simple. As soon as I walk-in I am seated and served. There's nothing greater than knowing that for 20-ought-years the food is as fabulous and consistent as the first time you've savored their scrumptious bowl of hot beef noodle soup! This time around I opted for the dry (soup on the side) pho ga. Best.Pho.I've.Ever.Had. I think that sums it up. Everybody has their own preference when it comes to pho, but in my 32 years of eatting pho all over the world (literally every city I go to the first thing I do is look up their vietnamese restaurants) Pho Binh has it all. They only serve pho so you know there is no shame in their game. They do one thing and they do it right. 100%. Don't believe me? Often times they sell out a few hours before they close. The noodles are perfectly textured and with the right consistency. They are generous with their portions, particularly the meat. The condiments including the basil, beansprouts, lime and mint are always fresh. Moreover, they have the special 9-1-1 bowl that just kills it if you're particularly hungover...
