I always come here with my fiancé and this is our favorite spot! We love the combo pho. They have great deals and has quick service. I love the relaxing music and how busy they get. I hope they continue being here for many years!

Now this is 100% Authentic Vietnamese food. Alot of places claim to be but this one is a guarantee. It's clean and the staff at the register know alot about each dish. I love this place when I'm in this area. They've been open since around 1997. Long standing.

I guess inflation has hit everyone. The lunch special for plates USED to be $6.95 but has been raised to $11.95! That's terrible. The service was also not the best as it use to be. The quality of the meal was mediocre at best. The flavors also did not seem to be cohesive, so sad. I will visit again when it's pay day, this is too expensive for lunch.

Fresh, light, friendly, and good. Simple words to describe Pho 21, and a pleasurable dining experience. It was our first visit, probably ok or our last. The pho dac biet...when I first tasted the stock, I initially thought it wasn't punchy enough. But as I sipped a bit, pondered more, I'd conclude that it was a really good stock, but delicately seasoned. This doesn't mean watered down, but think of it as the agua fresca equivalent of Pho stock. It has all the spices you'd expect, but nuanced. It's perfect if you're craving Pho comfort but feel like something lighter. The ratio of meat to noodle is spot on too, as was the crispy freshness of the herbs. Two things happened to us that has NEVER happened in a pho joint before in almost 50 years: 1) they actually brought out our appetizers before our bowls of noodles, and 2) I didn't have to ask for more basil because they weren't stingy on the goods. What a revelation! Surprise of the day...the sriracha chili from Texas Pete. Man, it was really good and more indicative of the traditional Thai sriracha, which was the inspiration for Huy Fong (hate to break it to you, but HF didn't invent sriracha). The service was great too, not overly chatty, but friendly and efficient. I'd pop back in again if in the area.

It's very rare that I give a spot a 1 star but this place did it for me. It was by far the most frustrating experience I've ever encounter. It started off okay but as the time went by, I grew more frustrated. So here it goes. We came around 12:45pm & did not receive our food until 1:33pm. There were several tables that came 10 mins after us and got their food before us. There was one table that came way after us, ordered, received their food & finished & we are still sitting here waiting on ours. After waiting about 30 mins I asked two servers about our food & they said the tickets were mixed up in the back. What frustrates me is that they didn't offer an apology or at least 10 percent off on the meal. I don't want anything for free but it's the thought that counts and I have to say that the service recovery was complete garbage. I also think that it would've took longer if I didn't say anything. It's ridiculous that I waited close to 45 minutes for some Pho. I know that the broth is already made in the morning & they keep it hot throughout the day. Every pho restaurant I've been to I've waited less than 15 mins. I understand mistakes happen but they made no effort to make it up to us. There was another family that came maybe 2 mins after us & half of their table received their food at the same time we did, while the rest waited. Okay, enough of my rambling. Now on to the food. I ordered a pho combo that comes with egg rolls & a can drink. ($14). The egg rolls were alright, it came out piping hot but taste wise it was nothing special. The pho was just edible, the broth was boring & I had to add a lot of Sriracha & hoisin sauce to give it some flavor. It's like they were in a rushed to make the broth. It just had no substance. The only positive thing that I can say is the well done brisket was tendered. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I would've given them a 3 if they came to my table and at least offered an apology but no one seems to care, so for that it's going to be a 1. I think it's been about 3 years since I gave a 1 star but today is the day. Service was a complete joke & the food was just edible. Will I come back? H-E double hockey sticks no.

I love how this is a Houston staple for me! This place is my family's go to pho spot. I love their combination pho that's only $13 and the Vietnamese Che dessert! We've been coming here for years. Please don't change!

Unfortunately I'm done with this place. Between the service and diminishing and inconsistent food, I keep returning, hoping for better results, but I've been left disappointed one too many times. I always order a large chicken pho here and take back the leftover for a snack the next day. I love their clean flavorful broth when they do it right. Unfortunately my large chicken pho kept getting smaller and smaller portion wise with each consecutive visit. On my recent and last visit, the kitchen was super stingy with both noodles and broth. It felt like almost half of the noodles were missing. The broth was barely warm, not nice and hot as it should be. Needless to say, I finished the bowl easily and was still hungry afterwards. I brought this up to my waiter and he kinda shrugged and pointed out it was served in a large bowl. Yes, I understand that. It's the lack of what's in the bowl that is the problem. I pointed out again while paying at the register that I was not served a large, as I usually am full and have plenty of leftovers to take home. He halfass apologized and mentioned that it's just how the kitchen makes it... A diminishing chicken pho and rude service unfortunately leaves little reason for a return.

Legitimate noodles and meats with the accompanying sides for your pho. The broth is more consomme flavor and clear looking. Service is ok, they bring you the stuff to your table and refills if needed. Ambiance is open and has several tables, no booths.

I don't know what you're complaining pho... this place is awesome. And you don't have to be 21 to come here... false advertising. It's a dirt cheap and amazing Vietnamese restaurant located right by Westpark and Harwin and Gessner. They make excellent fresh rolls which Barbie loves, she gets them with the shrimp. Definitely worth a visit, and basically everything they have is good. If you like this kind of food, you'll love this place, and it's cheap and amazing and that's why you'll see so many elites giving them such a great rating, because by price or standard of food or size of portion, you're going to be very happy here.

Excellent taste and price, got the large and they give you a real large just like all other great pho spots. Will be going back as long as I live in the area. Quick service & perfect amount of authentic options. Also got Thai tea and a viet coffee to go both 10/10 better then most boba spots.

The filling is placed in a pan and then a thin layer of batter made with tumeric and coconut milk yellow batter is poured on top. You wrap the lettuce around the bánh xèo/bánh khọt and dip it in the fish sauce. I got the bánh khọt and the bò né. Bánh khọt is like a mini, thicker version of bánh xèo and came with nine pieces. Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. It's nice having an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in our area, close to us, so we don't have to make the trek to Bellaire every time we crave some Viet food!

I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. When I arrived there was nobody dining in the restaurant, that was a bit worrying, but I figured it was a bit early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd. Food & Drink - 4.5* First up was the noodles, I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say the hype I'd heard about from some others was there. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The restaurant is clean, the owner is very nice, and it's a nice low key space to just enjoy a good meal with friends or family.

Upon arriving, every table was taken except our table w a reserved sign on it. The restaurant was bustling, but I could still hear my husband over the music and noise. The menu is huge!!! I didn't know where to start. But our server, Vanessa, helped us make a few choices. We started off w bánh xèo tostadas, bánh béo, & carpaccio. Then we had calamari and their steak special. I asked for a side of papaya slaw for some veggies. My favorite dish of the night was the carpaccio. So many flavors perfectly melded together. Loved the crunch of the fried onions and peanuts. 10/10 dish, in my opinion. Authentic banh xèo usually has an airier, crisp crepe, but theirs was more crunchy - great for their tostada take. Very flavorful. Each piece had one shrimp, but plenty of pork belly bites. The nuoc mam drizzled on it was tasty. Fried calamari - this is a big dish for, I believe, $'19. I prefer the dipping sauce on the side so that the batter doesn't get soggy. This did happen here, but it didn't stop us from finishing every last bite. The green sauce was good, not the usual dipping sauce for fried calamari. Steak special - they have another steak dish on their menu, but this one was pepper crusted w smashed potatoes. The potatoes were super crispy and flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked - a beautiful pink medium rare. The portion was huge and justified the $39 price point. The staple steak dish came with a papaya slaw and I had to have it. It was bright and limey - I can see why they serve it with their steak. Bánh beo - my least favorite of the night. A bit thicker than I like. Still good, but there were a lot of other great dishes that I could easily pass on this one. Try their hibiscus artichoke tea.

We got there 15 minutes before to make sure we could find parking. They have a small lot but all the spaces were taken despite being before 6 pm on a weekday. And a few spots had noticeable broken glass so be careful. We fortunately found street parking close by; double checked the signs because I ain't getting towed for nothing. Then I double checked inside with staff to make sure where I parked was ok. On to the food: we got several happy hour appetizer items: soy garlic wings, Brussels sprouts, bao bun, roasted oysters. All was good but not amazing. I then ordered the pho tai chinh for myself - I was quite impressed with the portions and the price! Wifey got the lemongrass pork banh mi - good but not amazing. Overall I would say the food taste and portions were good, but note this is elevated Asian cuisine, so it'll run you $20-$30 minimum. Now the service - definitely super friendly staff. It was our first time there so maybe they brought out the extra friendliness. Even the chef came out and greeted us to make sure we liked the food. Waitress was very kind and checked on our table a LOT. Almost too much. Overall a good experience, yummy food, not a fan of the parking (a common problem in the Heights), and expensive for Asian food but that's expected. Enjoy!

It comes in a set of 2 but we got a 3 pack! I ordered the grilled branzino and let me tell you! That chimichurri sauce !! Clutch! It is demonetisation and truly grilled to perfection. My friends ordered the filet mignon and the chicken and they were equally as impressed! I ordered the espresso mousse for dessert which comes out in the shape of a coffee bean. Cuteeee and perfect! This place didn't disappoint and it is a must visit.

This is a higher end fine dining restaurant so you should expect the portion sizes and price to be pretty comparable to a lot of other finer dining restaurants. Overall the food's flavor was fantastic. I ordered the king salmon clay pot. I thought the salmon was so tasty! They added pepper and sauce to the salmon - It was tender and flavorful and paired nicely with white rice. The quail (not pictured below) also was super flavorful and was cooked so well it tasted like beef. The soup was also light and refreshing, similar to a west lake soup. It was thicker consistency and had cilantro and chucks of lobster. The drinks served were also super balanced. We ordered the mojito and the dragon fruit cocktail. The mojito was the right balance between minty and sweet with just a hint of alcohol flavor. For the dragon fruit cocktail, it was very fruity, on the sweeter side but not overpowering and was topped with egg whites to give it a little bit of frothiness. I will say, we are slightly underdressed to enter this establishment. Everything seemed so luxurious and many people were in formal business wear! Keep this in mind if you go! There is a parking deck right next to the location as well, both self parking and valet!
