    I am DISGUSTED. My family and I ordered the com gia dinh for 3, and at first, it wasn't too bad, because it was one of our favorite places to eat. But when we were almost done with the ca kho, THERE WAS A TO GO LID ON THE BOTTOM. That is DISGUSTING. We told the server and the workers there and all they can say is "sorry". WHAT???? I will never going here again because I am SO disappointed with my visit here. Like how dirty and unsanitized can this restaurant get when a WHOLE LID was in OUR FOOD AND WE DIDN'T REALIZE UNTIL THE FOOD WAS GONE????

    Great little place for authentic Vietnamese food. Don't be surprised if you are the only non-Vietnamese in the place. Tonight I was, but I hung with the brothers to enjoy some of my favorite food. Goi Sua Tom Thit - This is the popular shrimp and jellyfish salad that is lightly tossed with nuoc man. That sweet and savory mixture that is made using fish sauce. I thought this dish was outstanding. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the ingredients were perfectly balanced. Bo Luc Lac - Also know as Shaking Beef, this dish is a stir fry of marinated cubes of beef steak. The meat was tender and flavorful. Some Vietnamese people will mix a concoction of lime juice, salt, and pepper to dip the steak in. Don't knock it until you've tried it. Tom Rang Moi - Salt fried shrimp still in their shell is a crunchy delight. The shrimp were large and fried to perfection. I don't eat the tail or the head, but many people will wear it all out. Just be sure to chew well. Rau Muong Xiao Toi - I am told that this green leafy vegetable is very common in Southeast Asia. But it is an invasive species in the US. There are US agriculture regulations to control the growth and spread of it's production. Ultimately this has affected the price of this simple dish. I don't know if this is true or not but it's a conversation starter. I had to withhold the fifth star on my review because the restaurant didn't feel that clean to me. Unfortunately that is pretty typical of the Asian restaurants around here.

    Don't be fooled by the other reviews that give this place 4 stars or better because like others have stated. This place is dirty and stinky even by China/Viet town standards. They take credit card but their water and ice were so bad in both the drinks and in food with a high concentration of liquid smells like moldy water lines. This isn't just typical city of Houston gross water-- there is something truly foul in his place's water. It smells up all the food and all over the place. Let's put it this way-- I poured a whole can of coke in their ice. It was undrinkable. Switched out with water only, no ice-- same taste. Tried to eat their cold duck dish and soup.. guess what even with a pallete cleanse (brought my own water to wash it out)-- still smelled and tasted totally off. If you don't smell or taste the dirty then God help you. BTW is my third time herewith different people each time and it's never any better. Why did I come here three times then? Others wanted Viet late night and didn't trust me when I told them.

    Speedy service, clean interiors and delicious food! They have hand sanitizer when you walk in. Also hand sanitizer in the bathroom. They accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards, not American Express.

    Came here with the in-laws because the duck was recommended. It's a generally small quaint restaurant with plenty of booth seating and 3 large circular tables. We had called in advance for a table of 15, however upon arrival, no table was reserved. We took a table of 8 take until the tables next to us opened up to combine. Food was average and typical like any Vietnamese restaurant in China Town. They have the sugar cane juice that everyone likes. All made/prepared. Can't really say anything unique about the place but had the extensive menu. The family ordered bo luc lac (steak tips), muc rang moui (fried salted squid), banh xeo (viet pancake), bo Thai Chanh (lemony beef), sour fish soup, snails, and the duck. Service was really, really, slow. The staff would disappear for long periods of time and when you try to get their attention, they pretend not to see. You'll need patience when dining here but seems like most patrons aren't in a hurry. ..but I was hungry.

    I've often had com phan here but this time we changed it up. We each ordered our own thing. Our table had the banh xeo, some chao ga, some bun man vit, com tam dac biet, bun bo hue, and mi xao don. I only got to sample the banh xeo and the com tam. The remaining foods looked and smelled excellent but I didn't get a taste. The banh xeo is ginormous and crispy, full of goodness. It stayed crunchy but it was loaded with sprouts and the banh itself was more coconut than I'd prefer on mine. The com tam was extremely good, with the dac biet being full of so many different things. The portion and price are definitely worth it. Based on past visits, I'd have to recommend the com phan though, with shout outs to the canh chua and ca kho to. Small, out of the way, tasty, and not insanely busy make this one of my favorite places to eat.

    What else can you ask for $70 dinner with 6 dish. We ordered Togo and came pick up. They were so nice and helpful. They helped me to carry all food to my car. What a great customer service. Not talking about their food all so delicious. We ordered the sweet and sour fish soup, braised fish clay pot, stir fry fish and veggies, shrimp and pork salad, fried calamari and fried tilapia . Definitely will be back for many more selection on their menu.

    We ordered the family style combination for 6 people but the food was more than enough for the eight of us. About $60 pretax. While large in portions, the taste was mediocre. I've had better elsewhere. The combination included canh chua (almost a sweet sour soup with lots of vegetables and fish), goi tom & tai heo (shrimp & pigs ear salad), ca kho to (claypot catfish), muc chien (fried calamari), cai lan xao thit bo (Chinese broccoli & beef), and another fried fish I forgot the name of. Service was very slow. There were only about 4 tables, including us and a big round table that was not cleaned up. Where did our servers go? They, as in all FIVE servers, all pitch in to clean up the table leaving no one to attend to any of their customers. Aside from the combination dishes we also ordered a separate dish: banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe) with just shrimp that came with the side vegetables. (You can choose with shrimp & pork.)It was a big crepe, however we only had roughly 4-5 small shrimp in it and what seems to be an unlimited amount of beansprouts inside. I was not a happy camper. The crepe also had a coconut taste for the flour they choose which I wasn't a fan of either. Overall visit 3/5. I will continue to look else for better vietnamese food.

The filling is placed in a pan and then a thin layer of batter made with tumeric and coconut milk yellow batter is poured on top. You wrap the lettuce around the bánh xèo/bánh khọt and dip it in the fish sauce. I got the bánh khọt and the bò né. Bánh khọt is like a mini, thicker version of bánh xèo and came with nine pieces. Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. It's nice having an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in our area, close to us, so we don't have to make the trek to Bellaire every time we crave some Viet food!

I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. I believe the crawfish is seasonal, so go during crawfish season because this pho was delicious. The crawfish were so tender and the pho was so flavorful. The beef dish was also so good to eat and balanced. The fried beef balanced so well with the fresh salad and rice. I will say that when we went the parking lot was a little deserted at night. I would definitely lock your doors and take all your valuables. But that's all or Houston, so just stay safe!

Everything is always super flavorful and perfectly cooked. My absolute favorites are the Thit Ba Chi Kho To (caramelized pork belly), the Suon Non Rim To (braised spare ribs) and the Canh Chua Tom (Vietnamese sweet and sour soup with shrimps). I also really love their Com Chien Ca Man (salted fish & chicken fried rice), which I think is one of the best in town, as well as their Ga Kho Xa Ot (braised lemongrass chicken). The other was regular fresh spring rolls with shrimp. The rolls came out last after when we got our Pho. Would have enjoyed it more if it came after the salads. I ordered the combination Pho with all the ingredients (brisket, eye round, tendon, meatball and tripe)a. There is only one size. There was a lot of noodles for the size of the bowl. They were generous with the meat. Wish they would have more soup. The soup itself was ok. Thought it was a little bland compared to others. Service was quick. It didn't take long to receive our order. They offer reusable wooden chopsticks. Will plan to try the other dishes other than Pho like rice plates next time.

Overall the food's flavor was fantastic. I ordered the king salmon clay pot. I thought the salmon was so tasty! They added pepper and sauce to the salmon - It was tender and flavorful and paired nicely with white rice. The quail (not pictured below) also was super flavorful and was cooked so well it tasted like beef. The soup was also light and refreshing, similar to a west lake soup. It was thicker consistency and had cilantro and chucks of lobster. The drinks served were also super balanced. We ordered the mojito and the dragon fruit cocktail. The mojito was the right balance between minty and sweet with just a hint of alcohol flavor. For the dragon fruit cocktail, it was very fruity, on the sweeter side but not overpowering and was topped with egg whites to give it a little bit of frothiness. I will say, we are slightly underdressed to enter this establishment. Everything seemed so luxurious and many people were in formal business wear! Keep this in mind if you go! There is a parking deck right next to the location as well, both self parking and valet!
