For the Leesburg area this is a pretty good pho place! It is very flavorful and the portion sizes are generous are reasonable prices. The servers are really friendly and gave us additional napkins without asking. I love how the interior is decorated with neon signs! The fish sauce doesn't already come with chili oil so you will have to ask for that separately. The duck noodle soup was tasty and filling and I love the mushroom, bok choy, and cabbage it comes with! It also came with a side of pickled carrot and radish which is a nice palate cleanser. I was looking forward to trying this place out after seeing in The Burn that they had their soft opening this week. We were really hungry and the menu options looked great. We settled on the Bun Bo Hue and the Banh Canh Cua. The server was really nice and mentioned that their Banh Canh Cua was uniquely made and likely not something we were used to. I wasn't sure what that meant at the time, but I was looking forward to it. I definitely understand the growing pains of opening up a new restaurant and working through all the kinks, but wow, the food took a very long time to come out! After about 25 minutes, the manager came by and gave us complimentary iced jasmine tea and thanked us for our patience. About 10 minutes later, the bun bo hue was brought out and the first thing I noticed was how clean the broth was. It was very tasty too. When we were almost finishing up our bun bo hue, the Banh Canh Cua finally came out about 15 minutes later. Generally, that dish is very thick and starchy, but this wasn't at all and I liked it a lot! They were also very generous about the seafood (crab and shrimp) that came with it. I can definitely see why the server mentioned it was different than we were probably used to. Overall, I loved the food. The servers were all attentive and the portion sizes were pretty big. It was definitely more expensive than I'm used to paying for comparable dishes, but I'm looking forward to coming back once they get more situated. I'd recommend not going until they work out their kinks, unless you have a lot of patience. read more

Came here for lunch on Sunday knowing it was their soft opening week. The decor is super nice!! Love the face lift - modern, bright and inviting. We got nem nuong rolls and summer rolls. I was expecting the typical yellow sauce for the nem nuong instead of the hoisin sauce. Ehhh ok. The rolls lacked the sausage, just some thin slices. I was expecting some very generous thick slices for the price. It was mostly veggies. Summer rolls were good - could use some more deveining for the shrimp but no big deal. The appetizers left much to be desired. Both of us got pho. I got the special combo and he got tai, nam. I don't love that I couldn't order a small. I couldn't finish the one sized bowl. It was rather on the high priced side at $15 and I felt like the meat quality could have been better. It was very chewy and my tai was well done and tough by the time it got to me. I got mostly tendons and there were two very small meatballs. Could have made up to be a whole one. Our table didn't get any hoisin sauce for the pho and didn't need any since the broth was on the salty side. They were overwhelmed and seemed to be understaffed at the time. Everything was so delicious. We came on a mom / son date on a day that he had no school. He had never tried Pho! We started with the calamari - a solid choice. It's lightly fried / sautéed and comes atop sautéed veggies and lettuce. It's served with a cilantro cream sauce. It was delicate and delicious. We shared the Bahn Mi - we ordered it with beef. It came on a baguette and was served with cilantro and jalapeños on the side. This was so large as an appetizer, especially since we also had calamari, that we took 1/2 home. I had the beef Pho with steak and brisket. The broth was incredibly luxurious, fragrant, and so flavorful. It's everything you want pho to be and more. I added bean sprouts and basil as well as siracha for a little kick. They were generous with the overall portion and the protein portion was more than ample. The noodles were perfectly cooked and delicate - I will be craving this regularly. I wil say, it was the best pho broth-wise I've ever tasted. My son had the kids beef pho and it had steak - he loved it and even though he was pretty full, he ate 1/2 of it. The leftovers are waiting for when we are ready for dinner! He said five stars and he is so glad for the new experience. He enjoyed his boba too. I had a green jasmine tea, served hot, and it was lovely. They have a variety of items in addition to Pho. We've been here several times. They're still trying to figure it out in terms of service. The servers are nice but they're running the restaurant with just a few people. That means ordering takes forever, getting the food takes awhile and so forth. Expect to sit and wait for awhile. The pho is pretty good, flavorful and generous portion. Has anyone been so excited that a new restaurant opened up and end up being utterly disappointed and down right disgusted. Waited for over 30 minutes to get my water. Appetizer came out after our main dish. Asked for extra items that I paid extra for and was being questioned about it. Paid $11.00 for 3 meatballs and a few tendons. What a waste of money (picture added). They were not that busy. Service was horrible. I would say if service was better I could tolerate the food. But all around bad. I have a huge family and will advise them to not bother coming. Finish eating for 15 minutes and still no one has come to give us the bill. Bun Bo Hue Mom got the bun bo hue and said "the soup was okay". It was somewhat authentic and not too salty, but not spicy at all. She was a bit disappointed because there was no huyet (no idea what this is in English). The bowl was lacking in meat but was pleasantly surprised they gave two gio (I'm sorry idk this in English either). Banh Canh Cua: I feel like I was scammed. Okay honestly soup was really good - thick, not too sweet, and not overwhelming full of msg. The noodle were top notch - chewy and fresh. However, the meat in this bowl was lacking. I was asking myself where was the cua? I got two quail eggs, three pieces of so called crab and one gio. Noodles were carrying this $19 dish. Pho Dac Biet: Dad got the pho and throughout the meat he praised the quality of the meat, but also mentioned the lack of meat. Also I forgot to take a picture of the bowl of pho because I was really hungry and started eating, but it was quite odd that the pho came out last considering it's the easiest to make. This place replaced our go-to Viet resturant Viet Chopsticks. Keep in mind right now they are doing their soft opening so the service is a bit slow, but they actually kept the same servers from Viet Chopsticks - so nice to see some familiar faces! From the reviews you can see a trend: lack of meat and overpriced. I definitely will give the place a second chance once they do a formal opening, but for now I'd rather pay $19 for something that would satiate me :( read more

I came here on their official opening night! Pho Bar is a nice blend between a cute, modern aesthetic and also good actually Vietnamese food. They have two cute neon signs - one at the entrance and one in the restaurant itself. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I ordered the banh beo (which either can be ordered in quantities of 5 or 15). This was so so delicious. The banh beo was nice and thick, but the texture was balanced with a little crispy pork rind on top. The pho itself was good. The broth itself is pretty heavy on the cinnamon/cloves though - it smells more like autumn and allspice. However, the taste isn't overly sweet which is what I was afraid of at first impression. Our favorite pho spot was closed unexpectedly last Saturday so the family & I decided to try Pho Bar out. Overall it was excellent! Spring rolls: crispy and fresh, the dipping sauce was savory and sweet just like you want. My youngest had boba milk tea with tiger sugar and the middle kid had a fruit slush, the loved them! Now the most important part: the pho! Huge portions of meat and noodles which I love because I'm a pho pig. Noodles were soft and not clumped together which tells me they cook to order instead of par boiling a ton in the morning and just reheating. The broth was clean and light but had a northern taste (more star anise than I usually like) but was hot, savory, and hit the spot. Service was excellent! Overall I really like this spot for pho.
