A solid bowl of pho, not extraordinary but will come back overall. Broth is mildly flavored. I ordered #17 the everything pho. Meatball is mid, beef is decent. My new favorite pho spot!! My son and I wanted some pho after running some errands. I've never tried Pho Royal before so we decided to give it a try. You walk in and it seems like any typical pho place. We picked where we wanted to sit and the waiter was quick with the menus. We ordered the summer rolls and two bowls of pho. I couldn't even get a picture of the summer rolls, my son demolished them before I could and he said that the sauce it came with was one of the best dipping sauces he's ever had and he wasn't wrong. It was so appetizing. We wished we ordered more summer rolls. The pho came out shortly after. Man... This bowl of pho was GOOD. We came to Pho Royal because our favorite pho spot was all done for the night and another customer had recommended this place. Unfortunately, the pho didn't live up to our expectations (especially since we were craving pho). We were greeted by a couple of friendly faces and the food came out pretty quickly (there weren't a lot of customers around). The spring rolls were decent, but the pho didn't have the traditional "pho taste" that you would expect. It tasted almost watered down, as if they hadn't simmered the broth for very long. Was craving pho and this place hit the spot! My husband got the large size which seemed like it was a lot bigger than the small (about almost an inch difference in bowl size and $2 dollar price difference) - which was surprising to me because most of the time it doesn't seem like regular/large is much of a difference. Tried this place out because it was a recommended pho place from someone who's lived in the area for over 30 years. Apparently, there are 3 locations! I ended up getting the #6. Pho tai nam & A1. crispy fried egg rolls. The broth was good, at first I thought it was too light in seasoning but mixing it up had helped distribute the flavor. I am glad it was not too salty. The portion was good as well (I ended up having quite a bit of leftover meat). I liked the eggrolls too because I believe it has taro and that's how I would normally make mine too haha. So my fiance and I walk in and sit down. We ordered two Pho bowls and two spring rolls. The spring rolls come out burnt and my fiance asks for new ones. The server who is Apparently one of the owners looks at her and asks "what's wrong with them?" They were black and burnt to a crisp. Instead of saying "oh I'm sorry we'll bring you new ones" he copped an attitude. So I was unwilling to eat there but my fiance wanted to stay. So we stayed and I told the server I do not want my order but she wants hers. Then he started yelling at me to get out or I'll call the police. So we left. This leaves zero stars for the burnt food and a negative 5 stars for the rude service. There is plenty of other choices in the Leesburg area so I would not recommend this place to anyone. So The Story Goes On. We moved to on to the Asian Noodle House. We had a conversation with the server there and she has eaten at Pho Royal before and stated there are two owners. It took me quite some time and finally a recommendation from the wonderful ladies at the nail salon to find the pho I wanted in the area, but this is it. This is the place with the best broth for miles, with a fragrance that hits you the second you walk in the door and challenges you to order -anything- else. Except you absolutely can. This shop isn't a one-hit-wonder. Everything I've had so far has been excellent. The pho, obviously, but the lemongrass beef is absolutely delicious, the pork and vermicelli, the crispy fried tofu egg rolls. Everything. I will admit I haven't actually tried the desserts yet, but I'm always full by the time i finish dinner, a last sip of Thai tea or the sweetened espresso is al the sugar I need to end the meal content. Service was awful! When I walked up, the "open" sign was turned off even though they didn't close for another 45 minutes. I walked in and sat down and the server immediately told me they were closing soon. I was fully intending on eating quickly and getting out before they closed. Then when I ordered, the server tried to tell me the grill was turned off. He asked the chef and they said it was OK luckily. My pho was average and so was the grilled pork. Not bad, but nothing special. It's clear the server does not enjoy working here and is providing a poor experience for the customers. Y'all this is the place to go in NOVA for good pho. After the Pho Royal in Leesburg changed ownership, my family lost our go-to pho place. I offhandedly ordered from here once, and it's been our new favorite place ever since. Everything is cooked so well together, and you can taste how flavorful and fresh all the ingredients are. The only thing is that it's a bit far from us, so one of the ladies here was kind enough to recommend Pho Factory in Ashburn by the same owner! Laughably bad. I paid $17 for a large Pho after tax and tip and received about 300 calories worth of food! They give you almost nothing! It's like paying almost $20 for a snack! The broth was burning hot and didn't cool down for about ten minutes (Pho is supposed to be edible right away, and the meat is supposed to lightly cook when it's put in right before serving). The meat was rubbery and over cooked, thanks to the burning hot broth (which lacked any depth of flavor. It tasted like reheated beef broth from a carton - not exactly Pho), and in addition to there being a piddling amount of it - it was sliced incredibly thinly! There were barely any noodles in my "soup" either, which is even more dismaying considering that a large pack of pho rice noodles (enough for 3-4 bowls of pho) is available for around 99 cents at most Asian grocers. The place isn't even in a particularly high-rent area, and is quite shabby on the inside, so I'm not sure what's justifying the outrageous margins on their reheated broth snack, either. Also, you should note that a lot of the good reviews are from several years ago when this place was better and owned by Vietnamese. Stay far, far away. There is much better pho available in Sterling. read more

I ordered eye round steak, well done brisket, and fatty brisket. It looked like I got 1-2 slices per cut of beef, which should have been at least 3-5 slices per cut. Do not come to this place, you are gonna get overcharged for basically, nothing. I just arrived home from having surgery an would only have soups an soft foods. My husband bought 2 phos ( 13$) and 2 trays of a meals with chicken rice noodles some veggies ( which had multiple hairs! ) they were both 12$ each... So 50$ roughly plus tax it should of been around 55-60$ My husband walked out with almost 75$ " worth" of food. My husband asked about the charges and ALL the owner did was point at a paper stating to make sure you look at the prices and they are Final. Still couldn't explain why or what was what, just pointed and was basically like oh well. The flank meat in my pho were extremely dry and stuck together. I came here because it was close to where I was staying. It's slightly off in beefy pho broth flavor and treading near blandness but I think I would come here again for the convenience. This is one of my very small handful of go-to pho places in the Reston-Herndon-Sterling area! I've been going to Pho Royal for years and the food is consistently delicious with fresh ingredients and food always brought to your table piping hot. Went for lunch with 2 others 2 days ago - I admit I hadn't been here in probably 4-6 months. The server (long time employee) confirmed the menu is new with some new items on it. Lots of seating available. You can see from the pics that the inside is clean, functional and adequate - it's by no means a 'fancy' place with trendy decor. Don't go for the ambience. Go to chow down on some seriously authentic, delicious Vietnamese pho and grilled meat rice and noodle platters - good portions at decent prices, friendly staff, food comes out fast and amazing overall value. Their menu is chalk full of the standard pho/Vietnamese fare. We ordered one of the new menu items - the fried shrimp appetizer. It was well-coated, the shrimps were a good size and the dipping sauce (a sweet and sour type sauce) was tasty but the pieces were a little on the greasy side - a little tweaking needed and it would be perfect. I had the grilled pork and crispy bean curd with rice platter (C4) - my all-time favorite and standby - and the dish did not disappoint! DELICIOUS. I had to take a close up pic of the piece of crispy bean curd - have not seen this on other Vietnamese menus but OMG so delicious and a great complement to the rest of the platter. The piece is like a spring roll except the 'skin' is made of bean curd, deep fried just so! It was not greasy. My platter also came with a clear broth cup of soup - nice touch, piping hot and an amazing complement to the meal. Our party also ordered spring rolls (2 to an order), the small Pho Do Bien seafood pho soup (#25) and the small Pho Ga Luon chicken pho soup (#19). Both partakers gave their soups a two-thumbs-up. Spring rolls were tightly rolled, crispy and hot. See the beautiful photos of our meal! You can 'see' how tasty it was! The soups come with the complementary classic garnish plate piled with bean sprouts, fresh leafy basil, lime wedges and jalapeño pepper slices. Sriracha, sauces and spices are at each table for partaking. What's not to love here?! The restaurant location is tucked away on the backside of a small shopping center (housing Zips Dry Cleaners) right off of Rt 7 in Sterling across 7 from Burlington Coat Factory. DEFINITELY WORTH SLEUTHING AROUND TO FIND. :) We always leave this place full and satisfied and the food we've had every time we visit has been high quality, tasty and of course authentic. Beef stew with yellow noodle is good. No where close to as good as the same dish at Huong Viet at Eden Center in Falls Church...however, it is good for this area. You must order with egg noodles or it will be served with white rice noodle. This dish is supposed to be served with yellow noodle and this is the only restaurant where I've been that it isn't. Right away, I noticed that their utensils are nice. The interior's clean and not too shabby either. I had the grilled pork chops (C1. com suon nuong), or should I say, pork chop. For the high price (when compared to other places I've been) I expected two, but I received only one small chop with a lot of rice. I was reluctant coming back to this place since last time e came I remember not enjoying it. I'm glad we did because I was pleased with our orders. We had some Chia Gio which came out very quickly. They were extremely hot (be very careful) and so very crispy and delicious! Their awesome dipping sauce added a nice touch. Our Pho came out shortly right after. My husband got the #1 and I got the #17. We ordered both small sizes and I'm glad we did because they were more than enough. The soup was delicious- not salty just the right amount buy very flavorful. The only thing I didn't like is that it wasn't piping hot- although it was hot enough. Gotta eat it quickly because it gets cold fast. That really wasn't an issue though because we both gulped our food down with very little pause. Other than that, we left extremely full and happy. The restaurant is taking extra precautions, everyone's wearing a mask, they're also social distancing the customers and sanitizing as each customer leaves. We'll definitely be back! read more

I had to get some food before I braved the outlets to check out some couches. I hadn't been in the immediate area for at least 5 years - the last time I checked out the outlets. Lucky for me, Pho Royal was on the way. I didn't expect much, only because I'm never in the area, so I don't get my hopes up. All I can say is, the vermicelli with pork and summer roll is better than any place I've had it in my closer-to-DC Virginia places.The pork was tender and the flavor was so good and intense. The summer roll was also crunchy, and the filling was tasty. No wonder people were constantly coming in to eat. If this place was closer, I'd hit it up at least 2X a month just for this dish. I'd come by even more just to try the pho and the summer rolls too. So, in the end, I didn't find a couch, but I found this place.
