Super Pho is still a favorite for my friends and family every time we are traveling through Herndon! During this most recent visit, we brought along some friends who were newbies to Vietnamese food & the staff was super accommodating in providing suggestions as to what they may enjoy. They were even able to accommodate to the kids in the group, who were picky eaters but loved their meals! The broth is flavorful and piping hot, ingredients always fresh, and the star of the show in my opinion is definitely their satay sauce - a great addition to the soup! Be sure to ask for a side of this as I like to think of it as a secret menu item. Bonus things that Super Pho is amazing at: iced coffee (always strong and a great energy boost), summer rolls (FILLED with shrimp and vegetables - also a favorite with the kids!) and their spring rolls (homemade and you can tell - the ones I get in NYC don't compare!). Big restaurant located on the border of chantilly and herndon (right off 50). Lots of parking and seating. You pay at the front so no issues with seating and they do prefer cash but will take card. They have two size bowls (opted for the regular size because I can barely get through that). They provide this yummy side chili sauce which isn't spicy. Very good and service was perfect. read more

I stopped in to get a few large chicken pho to bring home for the family for dinner. Staff here was friendly and helpful. The inside dining room was nice, clean, and organized. They have a loaded menu, but on this trip, my needs were simple = PHO! I didn't wait very long for my food and it was packed nicely to make the 1+ hour trip home. We heated it up for dinner and the chicken was perfectly sliced, we like it sliced thin and it was great! Nice flavor too! The accoutrement (basil, jalapeño, onion, etc) were all perfectly fresh and tasty. The broth was beef, evidently they're known for their 18 hour broth. It was definitely deep and rich with beef flavor, but that didn't really do well when in the mood for a lighter chicken pho. The anise and other Viet flavors weren't as prevalent as we had hoped for. I remember this place having amazing pho. So, went back today after 5 years and it has definitely changed. The pho was nothing like I remembered. My chicken white meat pho had a heavy sweet taste and my bowl contained about 5 small pieces of thinly sliced chicken. The service was ok. No one came back to see if we needed anything after our food had been served and we had to flag someone down. They wanted cash payment and the woman at the front counter, demanded a tip, which was extremely rude and out of line. I always leave a tip, but she is compeletely out of line for asking for one. I don't know if they're hard up for cash, but this isn't the way to go about it. I won't ever go back here. read more

The large pho steak w tendon was enormous. The broth was heavy on the anise and super flavorful and a little on the sweet side. Right when I walked in I felt a little overpowered by the smell, likely from the cooking pho all day smelling. It's a little light on the meat but the bowl was big enough to share with my daughter and we were both full after. She took pork with rice home and enjoyed it for lunch. We stopped by here for pho all the time because the soup is one of the best pkace around here for pho. Yesterday we tried the beef stew and it was also delicious. Pho here comes with sate dipping sauce. The space is bug enough for big parties and staff here are really friendly. Inwould usually try to go in the morning time becausse last night when we went later close to closing time, the soup had more cinnamon taste which takes over the soup taste. The pho is different to others. It is very sweet, which kills out any lemongrass, lime and other earthy flavors. If you have a sweet tooth this may be your favorite pho around so dont let this review stop you but personally not for me. read more

Easily one of my favorite Pho places to dine at. I recently moved to Herndon, and have been looking for a good Pho restaurant compared to restaurants near Annandale/Falls Church. I think this place takes the top spot here for the Herndon area. My go to is the Pho Tai Nam and each time I get it it meets my expectations. The broth is delicious and brings me right home, the quality of meat is great, the portions are generous and the service is always on point! The restaurant itself is clean and the staff are very attentive to you. I haven't had a bad experience yet here. I'd highly recommend trying this place out if you are in the area! read more

Husband and I went in to order carryout. Not our usual spot but he wanted to try Bo Kho and ours didn't have it. Such a disappointment when we got home, especially after reading multiple reviews saying they don't skimp. My chicken pho had 4 slices of meat in the box (pictured). The beef stew had very little as well. Thankfully we had meat in the fridge to add. Two regular bowls and an order of crispy spring rolls was $47 with an up charge to use my cc and we threw some cash in the tip jar! The crispy spring rolls were mushy and lacked flavor. The Veggie broth I got with my chicken pho was flavorless. I added sriacha and way too much salt to give it some taste. The spicy beef stew was sweet, lacked any flavor but the beef was very tender. This place is ok but not amazing. I remember it being better. Or maybe I've just tasted better at other places now. They have a sign asking for cash when possible. The same as when I go places for a massage. I'm guessing because they don't want to pay taxes. The place is clean. The food is average but not amazing. The only thing that honestly bothered me was that when I signed the check and left, the woman at the counter called to me to come back before I got out of the door. She said I need to tip something for the waitress, which was her. I did it but it was annoying to have someone do that. She did nothing but bring me my bowl and she barely spoke English. Food has become so expensive and I only really tip at a fancy sit down restaurants since you really have to. Everyone is different but I never really liked tipping anywhere since food is always so expensive these days. Employers need to pay all employees more these days. The minimum wage should really be raised. I'm sure people will tell me that I shouldn't eat out if I'm not willing to tip all the time and it's my own fault for eating at restaurants but this is how I feel. Plus it a real turn off to have someone yell at you to come back and give a tip. I only went since it was on the way home but I won't be going back since there's a better place not too far away with more menu options like Ramen noodles and vegetables mixed the meat, and the way the waitress acted. She was fine until she yelled for me to come back and pay a tip. I'm sure I will be told that I'm not welcome back but that's ok. They probably deserve customers that tip so I understand. They will probably lose more business if the waitress does that to other people too. read more

This pho place is a legit spot for pho, but is not the best as far as the prices are concerned. I like that they have a decent combo deal for pho, an appetizer and a drink at a reasonable price. When it comes to good pho, you always have to taste the broth to ensure that you're in a legit pho place. Super Pho definitely hits the mark and the fact that they provide fish sauce for the table (upon request) takes it up a notch! The establishment is clean and the service is always fast and friendly. I've been going to this place for over 12 years but unfortunately the quality of the food has taken an extreme dip. Not only are the portions much much less but the prices have climbed dramatically. Also, if you order online and pick up in person, the price quoted for pick up is the 'cash only' price. You will be charged more if using a credit card. I went to Super Pho for dinner last night and ordered the Vermicelli with Lemon Chicken and Crispy Spring Rolls. The vermicelli and spring rolls were decent, while the chicken was excellent. The service was average. The interior design is nice and clean-looking, though there were some questionable aspects, such as an unruly vine running along the entrance area and hanging down from the ceiling in the middle of the dining area. Super Pho only has one item on the dessert menu, deep fried vanilla ice cream. I tried ordering it, but the restaurant didn't have any available at the moment. You'd think that a restaurant with only one dessert option would at least keep that stocked at all times, but this was not the case. They did have a somewhat valid excuse as the waiter explained that the ice cream is handmade and takes about 6 hours to prepare. This makes me think that it would've been good. Overall, Super Pho is a good place to go for pho or vermicelli. Aside from not being able to try the dessert, I had a solid experience. read more

I had a local friend recommend Super Pho and it was delicious. Came here in the morning on Sunday. My friends and I ordered either the #1 or 2, summer rolls, spring rolls, and a couple of the B5 vermicelli noodle dish with summer roll and marinated beef. Wow the Pho was on point! Rich broth with very lil msg and the super bowl sized Pho is huge if you're really hungry. The broth was so good I found myself finishing my bowl rather quickly then munching on some of my friends as well. They do also have a hot sate sauce. You may have to use all of the sate in the dish to get the right amount of spice. We all loved our B5 noodle bowls. They pack a lot of meat and veggies into each bowl as well. Definitely great value for what you pay. The service here is great and the location is very clean. Our servers were every attentive and our food came out really quickly. Their Vietnamese coffee was strong and definitely get it if you need caffeine. Highly recommend Super Pho if you want great Pho or a nice variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes. read more

My most recent visit to SuperPho wasn't great. Not even good. It was fair. I ordered a supersized #P1 with a side of meatballs. What I liked: - The broth was good: flavorful and hot. What I didn't like: - Quantity was shockingly small. Where's all the broth? Where are all the noodles? Quantity served was less than other restaurant's 'regular' size. - Where's all the protein? The #P1 is supposed to be 'Slices of eye round steak, well-done flank, fatty brisket, soft tendon, and skirt flank'. I was provided with a very few slices (slivers?) of perhaps three of those. - Where are the meatballs? I was charged $5.50 for a side of meatballs and I received a single meatball. One. Single. Meatball. It was cut into sixths to try to hide the fact it was One. Single. Meatball. I know inflation has hit hard, but really? Sad. read more

After trying this place again (9/10/21 after last coming here in Nov 2020), they seem to have figured out how to operate well during COVID. We finally got back here to try some of their meatless pho. Upon arriving at 5 p.m., we were seated immediately and noticed that the table smelled like a dirty rag---ugh! I got out a wet wipe then wiped down the table which helped quite a bit. My husband pointed it out to the waiter. The waiter apologized and showed us the cloth he used---it was clean and new, so we're not quite sure what the problem was. Super Pho has 2 meatless pho bowls on the menu. I ordered P19 -- Pho Dau Hu (Pho Tofu). Before ordering, I made sure to ask the waiter if it was indeed meat-free. He said it was. My husband ordered P20 -- Pho Khong Thit (Plain Noodle Soup). For an appetizer, we ordered summer rolls. The summer rolls weren't baked or fried. Rather, they were wrapped in a very thin, translucent wrapper. The veggie assortment was crisp and fresh. We were given a hoisin sauce with crushed peanuts for dipping. This was a tasty appetizer and a refreshing change from eating a fried roll. Then the pho came --- and here is when things got a bit interesting. My pho did indeed have a generous portion of lightly fried tofu cubes. As I dug into the pho, I noticed something interesting. There were brown, rectangular pieces of---something that looked and tasted like meat. Thinking, that a mistake was made, I pulled out the pieces. Our waiter had made himself scarce so I couldn't ask him what that was about. The rest of the pho was decent with the broth being a bit on the sweet side. I added the aromatics and sauces thus seasoning it to my taste. My husband was happy with his "plain noodle soup" and enjoyed it. He added lots of aromatics to his, even going overboard on the jalapenos. Finally, the waiter showed up. I pointed out that there was meat in my pho. To which he said that it wasn't meat but "fake meat". Wow! You could have fooled me! It tasted like the real thing. Usually, fake meats don't taste exactly like the real thing nor do they have the same texture. Needless to say, I was quite surprised. It would have been nice if they had mentioned this in the menu when listing the ingredients! So...if you want to go meatless while eating here, just remember that "P19" in addition to the tofu, has fake meat in it! We would go back on a vegan day.
